Dear Family landers. I am here to seek your advice on how to rescue my car from my neighbour.

I bought a car, direct from abroad, a very clean and sweet ride, and registered in September, 2023 (5months ago). However, due to the high fuel consumption( V6, 3.5l engine) and the ever unstable fuel price today, I decided to put it up for sale to get a smaller engine capacity. A neighbour expressed interest in buying the car and decided to pay in installment which I agreed. I was also searching for a replacement at this time hoping to use the money realized from the sales to get my preferred ride. My preferred ride prices were shockingly high such that even if I doubled the price I gave to my neighbour it will still not be enough to buy the new ride. Prices rise by the hour these days in Nigeria and I have no hand in this crisis. I returned to my neighbour to inform him that I will not be selling the car anymore due to the present crises in prices of goods in the country. I apologized profusely for every inconvenience and transferred his money back to him. He got angry and said that I must submit the car key and documents to him. He even threatened to send his community and area boys to beat me up and extract the above items.

I came back from work to see my car jacked up, surrounded by 2 other vehicles to prevent the car's exit. For the records, there is no written or signed agreement between him and I concerning this sale. I refunded all his money 1 day after he paid his last installment and kept back my car. I have no hand in Nigeria's current problems. I am pushed to use force here but I am thinking that some initial peaceful resolution could be an option.

Let's look at it from your perspective and his perceptive. But you seem like an indecisive person.

ISSUES FOR DETERMINATION.

1. Research is key in any Task. I say this because we all knew Fuel Stations adjusted their Pump Price in most states the day Tinubu was sworn in as President ( He stated clearly that Subsidy was gone ). I assume you paid for your Car on or aBout the time Tinubu was sworn in. A 3.5L V6 will surely be expensive to maintain ( but maintenance is subjective). He probably can stomach the expenses on his end . You have a price which no one forced you to give irrespective of above or below Market Value it's your Choice...there was Offer, Acceptance, Consideration in the Transaction.

3. THE COST FACTOR . You made the decision to buy a Car and a brand, you said because of the Unstable Fuel Price you decided to sell, you should have calculated the cost and options to see if money realized from your Cra sale will be sufficient enough to get another Belgium Car of yoyr Choice also considering Inflation of all goods.

4. DECISION MAKING. You didn't make good choices and you went back to tell him that you are pulking out of the deal. It's not even about it the Contract can be enforced or not. You just made an unnecessary enemy. He has threatened you , Jacked the Car Up and blocked it with two Cars. He wants to show you that the Trouble you seek , he has it in abundance.

If you end up going to the Police , you will spend no matter how little.

The issue of you not considering adding an extra tip to his initial payment is another issue.

A parable : Which of you intending to build a House will not seat down and count the cost from the beginning. If you don't count the cost all who see you will mock you saying ...look..he started and he couldn't finish.

You should have weighed options and counted the cost of the first car of purchase, price for sale of the Car and price of purchase of a new Carm

I do hope someday Bishop Oyedepo would resign as pastor and take up a campaign for presidency. He is one of the few folks in Christianedom that can singlehandedly fund his election without having to bow to powers for funding. Though from the North Central, he can easily rally votes in the south and capture chunks of the North central and North east.

As per the unabated killings, it was amazing how it happened during Boko Haram's time. I started my farm in 2013 when I went to the Netherlands for my Master's degree with some money I was able to make working while studying. At first it was not easy I must admit. I started my farm with about 1000 birds. I had a lot more f moralities I won't lie but my dad who also has farm was able to put me through and I learned very fast too.

Today I can even boost of over 7,000 birds (Layers, Broilers, Turkeys and Some Day old chicks as well). I'm also currently constructing a fish pond and starting a tomatoes and onions plantation too. I get a minimum of 300 crates in a day.

The 2015 electiön you talked of was a national one were edo state naturally shared the same view as a block in the ss states. Gej was always going to win but apc picked almost 50% in a core block of pdp. I wonder if pdp could get up to that percent in the core north west block frm any state. So the edo central u speak of naturally gravitates towards pdp, but we both know the numbers there cant touch oshomole block of edo north more than twice central. I like the fact u are sincere oshomole stronghold is afemai, forget the small noise u here from pdp there 2015. If you go to afemai u would understand it is fully apc, they do understand how adams took them from nothing and made almost every auchi man a position in his government plus the likes of oyegun, alimekhena who through him brought auchi to national politics, not to even mention how adams turned afemai to edo capital at the detriment of other zones, and the university in auchi. For adams to be relaxed he knows it has to be godwin. And afemai 2day knows they have to sheild him with all so that all their benefits atleast remain.

What u fail to realise is that the 2015 election was a stand along a block senario. In edo south this time around its going to be TWO BINIS on their own neck. This is not oshomole contesting but binis, if you think its about question of who backs who i would tell u that the average bini man would prefer an edo north man anyday over an esan man. The perception that anenih still controls pdp is ever a factor, same reason why pdp choosed a bini and auchi man in last election and would still do it in this election with disrespect to the esans who trully own the party come rain come shine.

General manager, assistant general manager, senior manager, manager, senior banking officer, banking officer, assistant banking offficer, entry level (might be slightly diff in banks). Take for instance, at the moment Zenith Bank is an example. Some Tellers are Contract and some are full staffs and same applies to Customer Service. Anybody you see in FT(Funds Transfer) is a full staff. Same applies for Marketing. Bulk Tellers are mainly Contract.

You don't have to go to Zenith Heights to see the Real Bankers. They are in every branch along side Contract staffs.

You are wrong sir.The Federal High Court is seen as One Court with different Divisions across the Country for administrative convenience. Sec 19 of the Federal High Court has said it all.

There are also a Plethora of cases to this effect. In FRN vs MKO ABIOLA. Abiola was arrested in Lagos and tried by the Federal High Court in Abuja. His Lawyer's objected to this on the ground that he was arrested in Lagos and should have been tried in Lagos and not out of jurisdiction. The Court held that Out of Jurisdiction means : Out of Nigeria hence Abiola could have been tried in any other division (any state).
The state were an event occurs isn't an issue for the Federal High Court to have Jurisdiction.

Haba. You should leave Private Varsities out of this. If a parent can afford the fees of a Private Varsity its his or her money. He / she also decides when and how the money is spent. It's owned by a " Private Individual ". No one is forced there. If you talk about State owned Varsities I'd agree with you because fees should be subsidized.

The thread is about Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma and not Covenant University or Babcock University. The people of Edo can vote out APC and hope fully PDP would change things I.e assuming they don't also do same years after.
