Brother, it’s very unfortunate that those miscreants contacting you are trying to scam you pls stay away from them. Almost everyone working in uae has his/her profile on several gcc job sites so that’s not a big deal. This is a popular scam here, I’ve received similar fake offers in the past. I tried to confirm directly from the hr but he wasn’t available, you can also contact him through the attached details before you allow those guys to hustle you.

This sounds rather strange. Were you interviewed via skype? Have you tried to contact the said oil and gas company through their contact info gotten through google search? I know most employers usually cover relocation logistics for oversea hires. I mean upfront not reimbursement afterwards.

No one can tell whether they are real or not because you didn’t share sufficient information about them. You can give their number to someone in uae to call the travel agency. They won’t likely pick it if it’s scam and if they do, the person can politely make enquiry from them on your behalf.
This kind of arrangement where you must use a designated agency is mostly scam. It’s either the company process your entry permit for the 2 months employment visa or they ask you to find your way here to complete your interview or any procedure before they proceed with your visa. In that case, they won’t send you the offer letter.
It looks suspicious but anything is possible.

My story I just got an offer of employment to an oil n gas firm in Abu Dhabi but with a condition of using a designated travel agency MENA tourism agency LLC UAE, are they real? plus my employment letter covers for me n family, benefits stated on my offer letter too. But I am a bit skeptical on the condition of paying for the travel package but surely the organisation will reimburse me total expenses for the migration.

Please advise are they real?

If you are comin here to study make sure you have a GA/Scholarship or you can atleast come in with money to cover your first 2 semesters ooooo! Hmmmm... Seeing people dropping out of status here hurts me personally not because they don't want to study, but because they came with genuine intention to study, but school kicking them out because they can't pay tuition! The street ain't easy here either! Plan your self well before you take off! Have a plan A,B,C and D sef! Otherwise........

Can't say exactly how long I studied for it. It was an one and off thing cos I was working at the same time.

The key thing for me was to identify my weak points- which was RC (after some tests), and do a little practice every day. Set a time table and adhere to it. Take a practice test (Q and V) once or twice a week and PowerPrep's 2 full length tests bfore taking the exam.

About textbooks, don't use Kaplan- their questions are soft when compared to the GRE. Magoosh is good though, and none of the practice tests out there are on the same level as the real exam, although some are close. But if you practice hard enough you'll do well on test day.

Make sure you conclude your preparations at least 3 days before the test day. After you're done, rest. Conserve your energy. You'll need it for the exam. Also eat well before going for the test.

My Q could've been better - during prep my score was usually around 164/165. I didn't take good care of my self a day to the test date and developed a headache. As a result my first V n Q weren't okay. Thank God for the 10-minute break- I washed my face and things improved from there.

In all, the GRE isn't too hard as believed. Once you get familiar with the system you'll ace it.



I didn't read as much as practice. For me it was practice, practice, practice. Just draw out a plan. Set a time table, adhere to it and monitor your progress.

General GRE comprises of Maths, English and Analytical Writing.
Subject GRE might be in any oda subject like Physics. Wot u need is the general GRE which is d common one.
