If you will be marrying a single mother, you should do it from a place a strength. I mean, she should be ready to give, not just money, than an average woman should give.
It won't be funny if after marriage, baby mama start to dey hoard sex and expects you to pay her pikin school fees anyways.
It's so unfair that people get to hurt you over and over again, when they are in their right mind and later when you turn out good and are important, this only happens when you are somebody in life or better than them, they suddenly realize that what they did is wrong and want you to just forgive and let it go. Just like that?
How fair is that?
I won't hurt anybody back but I sure won't accept any apology if I were in his/her case.
I might consider letting it go but never becoming friends with such person only if a form of reparation was paid.
Ammmy: Growing up, my mother did a lot of terrible things to me even till I became an adult. I'm 40 now and she's aged.
She's trying to be kind to me now and I've forgiven her or so I thought. My life didn't turn out well the way I wanted because of her curse and evil mind towards me.
She regrets everything now and I have moved on but the memories fail to leave me. I've tried as much as possible to forget those things but I can't and each time I remember them I feel this rage inside of me.
I want to get something straight. How many hours of electricity does a provider supply an area designated as "Band A"?
If it is at least 20 hours per day, how come people complain about the prices since it is almost constant? And protest if their area is about to be designated Band A? Two, how come industries still have to face diesel issues when Band A areas are available across every state (please correct me if I am wrong)? Or is Band A only meant for residential areas?
Thank you.
We are band A and the total time we don't have light in a week is not upto 6 hrs unless there's a problem with the electricity which we know it's not from the provider but rather due to issues like pole falling or something else.
It used to 15 units per thousand then it was at 11 units /1k until few months ago when it became 4 units.
We complain because it costs like 3 times as much now.
I don't think band A exists outside Ikeja disco. I don't know for sure but I don't think so.
Not all industries are situated in band A areas, so they'd still need to burn diesel.
DaddyCoool: @bolded, not when that madness has resulted in your people being generationally poor - especially when it is then combined with generational poverty mindset and other poverty-inducing environmental factors. The net result of all this is that poverty is passed on from parents to children, unless a very strong outside element intervenes. As Kiyosaki exaggeratedly put it: "If you're poor, you will always be poor"
He's right. You're right.
But please stop using the words genetic and heredity in this case. Those are biology terms and they have meaning.
DaddyCoool: Timidity, laziness, risk-aversion, obesity, various physical and mental illness, are all inheritable and are al poverty-inducing
Here's what I wrote earlier:
Other things (besides habits) that can be "genetically" transmitted include limited access to education due to family poverty, lack of "social capital", potential genetic predispositions to health issues including mental health issues, lack of financial literacy and career guidance within the family unit, and the cycle of low expectations and limited opportunities passed down through generations. Also, inadequate nutrition in childhood and early life stress associated with poverty, can impact cognitive development and therefore future economic opportunities!
Oga. Leave science and focus on your philosophy full time.
Timidity, laziness, risk-aversion, obesity, various physical and mental illness, are all inheritable and are al poverty-inducing
While these are heritable, they are not poverty inducing.
You can be a mad man and still be printing money. Stop finding correlation where there isn't any.
DaddyCoool: Well, if you agree that certain personality traits are genetically passed on, and you agree that certain personality traits are poverty-inducing, then combine that with genetic poverty-inducing susceptibility to certain physical and mental ailments, then combine with poverty-inducing environmental factors that exist generation to generation - the net effect is that poverty is certainly genetically passed on!
This is why philosophers should stay away from natural science.
Poverty is not an inheritable trait. Offspring can't even inherit a broken leg.
SweepingBroom: Oh wow thanks. I'm actually stunned, someone on nairaland likes me. One thing is I am scared of anything "online like". That aside, if it's not too much to ask, what do you do for a living?
No chitchat. Just straight to what he does in the first response.
Why not try to know him aside his job first? I hope when he asks what you do, you won't be stuttering.
Nigerian women can never beat these allegations.
I should be minding my business but sometimes, person gats talk.
Glimpsetv: A Nigerian lady who introduced herself as Imeh Mary Beauty, a 21-year-old from Akwa Ibom, took to her Instagram handle to plead with Nigerians to help her book a flight, even if it's just from Lagos to Abuja, before her international passport expires. She explained that she has never flown on an airplane before.
Holding her international passport in her hands, she called on popular Nigerian bloggers like Tunde Ednut, YabaLeft, and others for assistance. She said, "This passport is about to expire, and I have never traveled by air before. Please help me book a flight. I am very hardworking; I can clean, I can cook, I can knack, and I can even be your side chick or second wife."
Showing off her passport and travel bags, she added, "I got this passport for ₦100k and bought these bags for ₦40k. Please, Nigerians, help me. I am single, not in any relationship, and I am hardworking."
