ogascomax: It's only those who do not understand the institution of marriage that argue this things. But first the talk of who you should love first shouldn't exist. However your wife is an aspect of you. Marriage is a covenant between a man and a woman that made them one. You are not in covenant with your mother but your father. If you are married you will live with your wife not your mother, at that point your wife comes first in preferences over your children, mother, father and anything, because your wife is you and you are your wife. The Bible says and the two shall become one. I find it funny that people conveniently say this and back it up with bible. Where did the bible say love your wife more than you mother? How does two shall become one translates to love your wife more than your mother? If the roles were reversed, you'd find out that women actually love their mother than their husbands. |

I was speaking to a colleague just yesterday and in her little mind the wife comes first before the money became the Bible said 2 shall become 1.
Actually, the right answer is, you are supposed to love the 2 of them equally. |

tensazangetsu20: If you are a Nigerian guy and you are ugly. Before you give up in life try and leave Nigeria if you have the means. You might not be ugly in other countries o . If anyone had told me that someone like me of all people would have so many women. I for say na lie o. Back in Nigeria if I even approach lets say 10 women, the likelihood of getting rejected by all of them is around 100 percent. Even my then gf I was the one doing everything for her to make her happy so she can stay with me and not Japa. Things even became worst when I was watching videos from the Japarians and they were like if you have a gf hold am tight. Woman no dey abroad. Make sure you knack very well before you leave Nigeria.
Unfortunately I couldn't go further with my gf and had to leave Nigeria. When I left I was like I would never have sex again or anything like that.
I just have to say that it's a very very big lie. Infact the things I used to hate about myself are things people find attractive here. I have very big lips and growing up it was something people made fun of. Infact I used to say when I have money I will do surgery to get my lips reduced. The same lips is what girls here tell me they like about me. I have a girl here that won't just stop kissing me and it's because of my lips. The funny thing is that these girls aren't even ugly girls. These were girls I legitly even before I approached I assumed were out of my league. I was like even when I get her number she's definitely going to block me on the phone but men I don't even know. So someone like me can be a playboy. Omho if you are ugly in Nigeria try and change environment. You might not be ugly in another country. Your firstline is very true. Beauty varies based on environment. White men would consider a woman with big ass fat but we love them thick in africa. I follow a nigerian girl who talks about everything brazil on her channel. Personally, I consider her average at best and she hardly talks about love or men/boyfriend on her channel but she recently landed a very fine white/slavic brazilian and it has been love love love on her youtube. The love they share is like the ones you see in movies and you could see the guy was really into her. I am really happy for her and for you too. It seems the love in south america is x100 superior to what we have here in naija. Sometimes, you need to go where people with beautiful eyes are to see your beauty. |

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Asking An Employer The Salary Range Before Interview. by Karleb(m): 10:49am On Sep 06, 2024 |
UrbaneHR: Bros, an interview is not a waste of time. It is an experience.
If you are really bothered about compensation then it behoves you to consist a research.
If I were to be recruiting unskilled labour then we can fix prices....drivers, cleaners, receptionists.
But for more skilled jobs a range is permissable.....but sharing that information with a client on first discussion doesn't cut it for me.
Finally, my approach is very simple, I have no time to waste myself. Time is my most valued resource. So I can tell from the CV, cover letter and most times from the initial phone exchange if the person is the right fit.
And by the way if proximity is an issue then we can adopt technology....Zoom, WhatsApp etc.
Recruiting a staff at a certain cadre is a very serious matter and requires multiple stages of careful and attentive interaction on both sides. Your time is precious but you waste a lot of it by not stating your salary range. |
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Asking An Employer The Salary Range Before Interview. by Karleb(m): 10:43am On Sep 06, 2024 |
UrbaneHR: No professional HR practitioner worth his onions will discuss salary with you on the very first discussion on the phone.
It is only desperate candidates that seek to know salary range and that's why they get short-changed.
Your best bet is to have an in-depth discussion with the potential employee with a view to understanding what value he can actually bring to the organisation before the negotiation starts.
Salaries and by extension rewards are very relative and even a range can be broken in favour of a really good candidate who knows his worth and is able to convey same. Some Nigerian HR are very horrible and you are one of them. I'm sure in your mind you think you are helping employees by paying them. How much is even the salary sef. |

Travel › Re: Study In Brazil: Admissions And Visa Procedures by Karleb(m): 1:26am On Sep 06, 2024 |
MrNovo: Its hard because you are learning the wrong way. Learn the way a baby or an illiterate learns. 1st stage you just want to understand what actions or meanings are associated with the words you hear. So if you don't live in a Country where the language you are learning is spoken, you want to download plenty of videos with subtitle in the same language and not English. This is a very common mistake we all make while learning and reason we keep struggling with first thinking of what we want to say in English before converting to the new language. 2nd step, commit to writing out at least 5 new words you learnt each day. So as step 1 gets you to learning the language, step 1 will help you achieve whatever level of mastery you desire. I wouldn't say this is the case though. I practice my portugese daily on Duo, I read portugese on my socials, I chat with some portugese friends and I attend a weekly class. It's just that learning a new language is hard, I wish I could be doing more but we are always on our toes trying to outsmart my brother and his stupid government policies. Thanks for the input though. |

Gerrard59: Every industry likes experienced folks including those that explicitly require academic masters in addition with a bachelor degree (architecture is an example). Experience is loved everywhere and by everyone.
That said, how come HRM is a lucrative role in Nigeria? HR is a cost centre and cost centres aren't lucrative. Even executive recruitment firms don't have HRMs as their highest paid staff. As for certification, CIPM is the relevant certification then SHRM. I'm just surprised how HRM is a highly paid role. How about engineering (software excluded)? I honestly do not know. I am really surprised too because I got to find out this year. I think the reason is because a lot of people do not know about it. There are companies springing up almost everyday even in this economy and the ones that are around also expands too. To me, HRM is the easiest qet-quick-rich scheme as per nigerian standard. You could study biro and pencil, then do a six-month HRM course online. Thereafter, you can get a HR intern or assistant job earning between #75k - #150k/m, the remote jobs tend to pay the lower end of the range. Once you have 1 - 3 yrs experience you are worth #200k - #500k/m or more, depending on the company and how good you are with job seeking and interviews. |
Education › Re: Holders Of Masters Degree Pls Advise Me!!! by Karleb(m): 12:11pm On Sep 04, 2024 |
Gerrard59: Sometimes, some of your posts get as e be. So tell the house, what sort of master's does a tech bro need when he has the relevant certifications in his field of software development? What master's does a BSc holder with ICAN/ACCA, CFA charter and maybe CAIA need again? Unless the industry explicitly prefers academic master's (architecture is an example), it's not so important for someone who has no work experience. The fact that you say a BSc isn't enough for a man, whereas this topic has nothing to do with gender, without factoring relevant certifications is worrisome. The highest paying jobs/sectors that always have jobs in nigeria based on my recent activities in job boards are: Software Development Accounting Human Resource Management Only accounting sometimes request for professional qualification, not masters. They all prioritize years of experience over a masters or a first degree in the case of Software Development. I personally consider a masters useless. The only time you should get it for a job is if it is required in the job or career to advance. |
