The trades happened between 14 - 16 October. The regulators could have allowed those trades in order to provide liquidity... Although the liquidity wan turn to erosion Mpeace: But is it lawful for an insider to trade during a closed period? Aradel and most companies on nxg are currently observing the closed period. In the USA, they could be sanctioned for that. |

You speak with such certainty. ARADEL didn't drop like you predicted yesterday. Infact a meagre volume was traded yesterday contrary to expectations. Let's allow market do its thing... designking: The volume of Aradel offers yet cleared can force the stock below ₦400.
Tomorrow is a good time to start buying Aradel. Its share price will drop another 10% today and like 5% tomorrow. |

Proposed solution: 1. Issue licenses for the full electricity spectrum - Generate, Transmit and Distribute. 2. OR Issue a single license to energy companies for Transmission and Distribution. That's one sure way to ensure reliability of the Network... KarlTom: Let me also add this.
The electricity infrastructure in Nigeria is well outdated. It's radial in structure and lacks redundancy. It's capacity is below what we can generate and very susceptible to failures...
Nameplate capacity is around 13GW Operational capacity is around 6GW (<50%)
Transmission (wheeling) capacity is circa 8.1GW.
This is where the real problem lies... |

How so? The have controlling interest. They do not own it. It's a straight dividing line... For instance, if we wake up to hear that First Bank bought controlling interest in GEREGU. Does that make First Bank a GenCo? 🤔 freeman67: Something does not seat right with the bolded. |
Investment › Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by KarlTom: 6:55pm On Oct 20, 2024 |
At the bolded: DisCo = DIStribution COmpany GenCo = GENeration COmpany GEREGU and TRANSPOWER are purely Generation. The latter holds 60% stake in AEDC (this doesn't make them a GenCo). EEDC is a DisCo There are three parties: GenCo, TCN, DisCozendi: Transpower, Geregu, EEDC (Enugu) and others are popularly called Discos wich is short for Distribution Companies. But I don't know if any of the Discos combines two or the whole operations of Generation, Transmission and Distribution.
As for part 2 of your remark, until that one starts happening. But I believe the huge shortage of power supply as you said will accommodate the competition. |

Technically yes. Although the wins could be dashed by an unfavourable outcome in court on Monday 21 October, 2024 I love the timeline of the 'events' Court rules: 21 October, 2024 GMD assumes office "... effective November 13, 2024" I can bet my last cent that the AGM notice has been typed and signed and will be released on 21 or 22 October (to meet the minimum notice period of 21days).
