CoolUsername: The plot had kind of devolved into a mess by the end of season 2. Season 3 was poorly written but had interesting characters and enough shock value to keep my interest. Season 4 was the the finale, so I said f*ck it and soldiered on. Disagree with season 3 being poorly written. It did what it was supposed to do, which was explore and develop the characters, as well as introduce the concept of the Infinite Corridor. It was just unfortunate that Warren Ellis got kicked off the story before he could finish it which resulted in a lot of inconsistent character behavior in season 4. |

The Batman (2022) 9/10 Director: Matt Reeves
I haven't had a good noir film in a while, so Matt Reeves' vision of the Caped Crusader was most welcome. Pattinson aced his first outing as the World's Greatest Detective (which he's not yet, as of this movie, but will eventually grow into) and I'm really hoping for sequels soon for him to follow up this performance. I have such a Jeffrey Wright bias, I'm not even going to bother praising his performance. I hope to see his Gordon explored more in future movies. Zoe Kravitz's Catwoman while possessing her sensuality lacked her experienced guile and ruthlessness which leads me to believe that, just like Pattinson's Batman, she's also in the early years of her being Catwoman. Colin Farrell impressed enough as The Penguin to have me looking forward to his television series. Extra points if Gordon features there, as well. And, of course, Paul Dano who was absolutely unnerving in his portrayal of Riddler as an anarchist psychopath.
Long runtimes are completely dependent on their pacing and Reeves does a really great job here immersing you into the story, that on the rare occasion you check the time, you're amazed at how much time has passed. There's not much filler and he doesn't let the scenes drag before moving forward.
Michael Giacchino is gunning for Hans Zimmer's throne and I say he has a clear shot. Hoping he comes back for the sequels and grows the sound to more epic levels till we get something akin to or surpassing Arachnoverture.
It was a great outing for The Bat at the end of the day, showing his first transformation from a creature of vengeance to becoming a beacon of hope while leaving many paths yet to be explored in the future.

Anime Recommendation
Summertime Render Genres: Mystery, Supernatural, Suspense Studio: OLM Season Aired: Spring 2022
SYNOPSIS After his parents died, Shinpei Ajiro lived with the Kofune sisters, Mio and Ushio, but he has since moved to live on his own in Tokyo. But after Ushio drowns while trying to save the young Shiori Kobayakawa, he returns home to mourn her departure. However, bruises around Ushio's neck bring her cause of death into question.
Taking a step back, Shinpei becomes convinced there must be another explanation. Dangerous entities roam among the islanders, and a vision of deceased Ushio asks him to "save Mio" as her final request. He is certain that something is afoot—and Ushio's death is only a piece of the puzzle.
With the help of Mio and various others, Shinpei struggles to forge a future in which he, his friends, and family can stay alive. But the more he investigates, the more impossible such a future seems. This darkness infiltrates his home island. Just how much more suffering will he go through before finding the right path to save it all?
Summertime Render is being worked on by Studio OLM that dropped the masterpiece, Odd Taxi, during last year's Spring season. So here's looking to see whether they can do it again this year. From the first two episodes released, they've done a great job on the visuals and animations so far and also aced the eerie atmosphere that befits a supernatural suspense story. Narrative flow and pacing have been well done as well. Found myself too engrossed in each episode to bother checking the time. So, if you love mystery and/or suspense shows like Higurashi: When They Cry and Re Zero, then check this out. Or wait till its 25 episode run ends in September and then binge.

I've seen many people online trash this same AOT you worship and praise. It's a masterpiece anime but it can be same for others.
I wanted to post some pics of comments from some Twitter peeps the some days back but just stopped. I no get strength for another argument.
The dude is pissed tho. Lol! Man doesn't know the anime community, especially shounen fans. They'll call your best show "mid" without blinking |

Baddestguyp: part 1 of Jojo is it's weakest part... So what are you saying about Plot? Part 2 was carried by the character of Joseph Joestar... So I don't know which plot you're talking about... Jojo has never been plot focused.... You really need that literature class on plot, like ASAP |
TV/Movies › Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by Kaycee7(m): 12:29pm On Apr 22, 2022 |
Baddestguyp: most people did not come for Levi sir... Where tf did you get that from lol?
AOT's biggest selling point is it's plot...maybe you came for Levi that's why you said Black Lagoon is better cos your Levi got injured and useless
AOT'S biggest selling point is it's complex plot and neverending twists... Why AOT is still my best show of all time I sometimes forget you don't really intereact with the anime community. Bruh, AoT owes its popularity to Levi. |
TV/Movies › Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by Kaycee7(m): 12:20pm On Apr 22, 2022 |
Baddestguyp: lol, so the selling point of Jojo is the plot? Lol...
Bro Jojo is one of my fav series...no one watched Jojo cos of plot ...even the people I introduced complained about the plot and I convinced them to continue cos Jojo is not plot focused and they all enjoyed Jojo...
The plot of Jojo did not get me into Jojo as I'm sure for most people...most people watched Jojo cos of the memes, the references (Jojo reference), the strange and bizaree iish, the weirdness, the poses etc... Even the characters are a far more higher selling point than the plot...
Oya say the truth...why did you start Jojo? People who referred it to you...what did they say? Man really just breezed over me specifically saying JoJo Parts 1 & 2.Going by your stance, AoT isn't plot-focused then, because most people came for Levi.

Baddestguyp: says someone who can't even differentiate a plot focused story from one that isn't lol... I asked you if you watched Baki for the plot... You haven't answered...
Answer and tell me if Baki is plot focused or not I'm pretty sure everyone knows who can't recognize a plot-focused story. But tell yourself whatever you need to |
TV/Movies › Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by Kaycee7(m): 12:01pm On Apr 22, 2022 |
Baddestguyp: I said peacemaker has no plot but still rated it high
Anyone with a functioning brain can tell I meant it isn't plot focused ... If I meant it was shit...I wouldn't give it high rating
Edited... Peacemaker's selling points are it's dark comedy, satire, Peacemaker's character development, his relationship with his father and struggle to live up to his father's expectations, etc
The plot is very simple and not anything special... What made me rate it high was it's other points and not the plot... I hope you finally understand now We've always understood that you don't usually know what you're talking about. We're hoping that you too can understand why your opinions are laughable. |
