Marvel does not take risks?
What would you have called guardians of the galaxy? A bunch of truly obscure characters brought to the big screen?

Or the wild deviation in thor ragnorak?
Ragnarok was them getting tired of taking risks with Thor and instead made him fit the MCU formula.

"The Batman with nipples" is indeed a work of art, if art is a circus.
Still remembered after decades. Who still remembers Iron Man's armor in Iron Man 2 and 3?

Fvck Legacy. Only the living can enjoy the fruits of their labour.
There is no greater way to feel alive to take great risks. Something Marvel is too scared to do

I'd take money over art any day. Art won't put food on my table.

Also, all I want is to be entertained, so fvck art.
Food is temporary. Legacy is eternal.

The art?

Batman forever and batman and robin would like a word.
Indeed, there are the occasional failures but those aren't allowed to be a block against creative exploration. If anything, they're lessons that contribute to new masterpieces.

When it comes to making money, Disney is in a league of its own. While WB is self-sabotaging, Disney via Marvel is devising new ways to make a trillion from a movie. People running WB are bunch of idiots.
WB are about the art. They're more focused on making classics than making money. Marvel is being run by a bunch of money-hungry technicians with no flair for artistic creativity.

Dollar had value back then. With today's inflation rate, Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy will easily gross more than $3 billion.
We just didn't want the billion sha. Otherwise it wouldn't have been released on HBO so soon. Marvel should try that with MoM, if them get mind

Matt Reeves has blood on his hands. He can't even get a Batman film to gross a billion dollars. Overrated director, overrated film.
Sam Raimi had 3 Spiderman and couldn't even gross 3 billion. 1 for each Spidey. During the holidays for that matter.

I was playing the devil's advocate.

The Russia embargo and the worsening Covid situation in China took a heavy toll.
I know. Could've used the banter, though. There's been a dearth of decent banter on this platform.

Given the lack of competition, I'd say not nearly enough.
Na we tell others make them no compete? Everyone fears The Bat of Gotham. That's why no one wanted to drop anything major at the same time

Vin Diesel is one actor with an uninteresting catalog. Check the movies he has acted, fast and furious everywhere with the touch of guardians of galaxy here and there.
Solid member of the typecast crew. Found a high paying role and proceeded to cash out heavily.

True tho.

Well, Nolan seems to be able to get required finance for his first project Oppenheimer with Universal amidst serious demands.
Make we dey watch sha. I still don't think any studio would give Nolan $225mn WB gave him for TENET.
I still can't believe that those are the final terms of his deal with Universal. Nolan's jazzman must be a genius in his field

Gmajor:
The scene was so contrived. They people being up the accusations made no effort to prove their case. It was so unbelievably.
Even if the vessel was unstable the God wasn't unstable
Khonsu was skeptical about calling that meeting because he already had nigh zero credibility with the rest of the gods. Basically he's their resident conspiracy theorist, so they don't take him that seriously.
Also, Hathor's avatar mentioned that she didn't know who to trust so it's quite possible that Harrow could have ally(ies) among the other gods.
It's not exactly peak writing but it's not quite as bad as you're making it out to be.
TV/Movies › Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by Kaycee7(m): 8:02am On Apr 16, 2022
Gmajor:
I was never really feeling the show but the last episode was so mind numbingly dumb.
The trial scene was the height of it for me.
Imagine asking someone who is accused of a crime if he is guilty and he says no and you just take his word for it. Like WTF?
So we're just going to completely disregard that Harrow also pointed out that Marc was unstable, which Marc further proved thereby rendering his accusation and testimony invalid.
