It was personally hyped by me, and it’s not wrong, Disney didn’t spend $200m on marketing for nothing bro, they wanted it to be the greatest crossover movie
And is there a greater crossover movie?

Nickshrapnel:
Greatest movie to be released is coming
I’m not the one complaining
I followed up Endgame from the teaser trailer to its release and I never saw it tagged as the greatest movie. Unless that is the hype you personally sold which would be just plain wrong.

abduleez1:
Oga Endgame was very hyped everywhere when it came out.

Everything on social media around that time was Endgame. undecided
Popularity doesn't equate hype. Hype has a theme, hype has a topic. All the hype I know that was associated with Endgame, it delivered on them. Any hype not delivered was probably some personal stuff you were expecting that wasn't in tune with the movie or even franchise.

I hyped endgame for Marvel wink I even made a bet that it will gross $3b, but I was disappointed
A) What was the hype you sold?
B) Doesn't that make you part of the problem you're complaining about?

You can't explain further because you don't even make sense to yourself.

DandeNummeruno:
You don't understand.

What do Thorin and Gollum have in common? They are both mythical creatures, yes? Empathizing with Thorin and Gollum is no different from the way we empathize with cunning Tortoise from our African folklores. Superficial.

To compare, GRRM's characters are historically inspired. The emotions they inspire in readers are real because their actions are drawn from history, rather than folktales. The unrelenting grit is embedded in realism.
Thorin's a dwarf. That's like saying Tyrion is a mythical creature.
Fiction is fiction. Doesn't matter what inspires it. Intact I'll have more respect for the author that makes me relate to a non-human character.
I think you rate GRRM higher because the world of Ice and Fire is grounded more in realism with just a touch of the mythical, as opposed to the world of Middle-Earth that is chest deep in fantasy.

Endgame is overhyped...

Tolkien no pass am oo... No one pass am, they ruined the series at the end, but the books are legendary

How someone will sit down and be imagining 7 kingdoms, different languages and all still beats me till date

He's a genius
I'll always be grateful his works were adopted into a show, cos if not for the series, I may never know such quality stuff exists
We're talking about the authors and their books so it would be nice if you read a bit of their works first. Or just read up on their careers at least.

DandeNummeruno:
I was expecting you to say Gollum. He was by far the most complex creation of Tolkien.

Gollum inspired somewhat superficial conflicting emotions in me. Superficial because, Tolkien's characters are mythologically inspired, and hence, are incapable of inspiring real emotions in readers.

Can you sympathize or hate something you can't relate to?
Which is why I didn't name Gollum. Thorin was more relatable to me as he was dealing with human emotions and temptations which I have an idea of as a person, unlike Gollum that was twisted by a magical ring.

You actually tried rating it 4.5/10...almost cried the night i saw it because of my wasted effort. It thought it actually going somewhere it all turned out to be beautiful nonsense in the end...they also had the nerve to do a post credit scene.. which was also rubbish btw...in my books it's 3/10.
It probably didn't have much chance to disappoint me cos I already got the heads up from my sister.

DandeNummeruno:
GRRM also wins at characterization, character development and manipulating reader's emotions.

Only GRRM has made me go from liking a character to absolutely despising them, and wishing them the worst, and after getting my wish, started feeling sorry for, and wishing them the best.
Tolkien did the same to me with Thorin in The Hobbit. And there's a character in The Silmarilion who's looking like they'll fvck with my head at some point. Still a draw, IMO

DandeNummeruno:
Tokien was from a different generation. In his generation, fantasy writers pay more attention to wordplay and poetry. It made him a superior writer.

But it terms of gritty, and complex storytelling, GRRM had Tolkein beat.
I'll concede gritty. But on complex storytelling, I'll admit a draw.

DandeNummeruno:
GRRM is smart. He doesn't want to alienate fans of JRR Tolkein.

Everyone knows GRRM has the better literature.
How? They both have great stories, characters and awesome world building but GRRM admitted that crafting languages wasn't his thing and that was one of the areas where Tolkien had him beat.

Another cool episode. See as Harley just waste King Shark and Doc's suffering.
I love it whenever Clayface is allowed to get in character.
And Babs was a nice addition to this episode. Looking forward to seeing more of her.
Also, I like that my favorite couple are still going strong. Kite Man is corny as hell grin grin

Maria 5.5/10

Bare bones plot that seems to be inspired by The Punishes character. Acting was as good as you can expect from the Filipino industry but the action scenes were actually good. There were some flaws in execution in some scenes but overall the action was really nicely choreographed and entertaining.

If you just want to see a bit of good old action movie without bothering about pesky stuff like solid plot and character development, this is the kind of movie you're looking for.

P.S: Also, I added a .5 cos the women were hot. Normally, Asian women just come off as cute to me cos apart from their fine faces, I don't really dig their bony model structure but these Filipino ladies be representing. Not as endowed as Africans or Latinas but compared to other Asian women, they're doing well. Ooin! grin

The Hustle 4.5/10

This was listed under the comedy genre but I can count how many times I laughed in the 90+ minutes runtime. Doesn't work as a drama, too. Story is too nonsensical for a drama and yet doesn't handle itself well as a comedy.

The only good things about this movie; The South of France setting was beautiful and Anne Hathaway pulling out accent after accent.

Stop watching animated Tv series. Start seeing series like DaVinci Demon, Witcher, Knightfall, last Czars, Roman empire. Ottoman Empire, Mentalist etc and your life will never remain the same.
The Simpsons, Bojack Horseman and Castlevania are better than your whole list and I haven't even touched on anime yet. Stop embarrassing yourself

Raiden is the deity of thunder and Earthrealm’s sentinel. He is the one that amasses the heroes of Earth to preserve the realm. He is their de-facto bellwether, and is disputably the strongest amongst them. Transitorily, he was an Elder God, but expeditiously return to his obligations as the sentinel of Earth. His potencies conventionally do not match that of the Elder Deities, but he has recently been corrupted, and has dealt with Shinnok (an Elder Deity).

Long story short, when he isn’t abstaining, Raiden is disputably the most powerful in the MK Universe.
Oh! Look at that. Someone knows how to copy and paste a Google Search result just like my nephew.

When he isn't abstaining! We might as well give the title of strongest to Fire God Liu Kang since we're doing conditional states. How many times has Raiden appeared or spent as an Elder God throughout the entire series? Dude literally has a running gag/meme of how his go to response is "I must consult the Elder Gods".
Note to look down on the lightning god though, this title might have been his as of MKX, but Kronika is currently the most powerful character in the Mortal Kombat universe.

Nice try. For you to mention Lui Kang as a revenant means that you are stuck on mortal kombat X.

Lui Kang is the champion of mortal kombat and the chosen one.

His younger self from the original timeline defeated his revenant self in mortal kombat 11.

Ogbeni, dont try to wiggle your way out of this.
If you read the full post, you will have seen or the Liu Kang that's co-ruler of NetherRealm. Or did you only complete his playthrough once?
I don't need to wiggle out of anything. Definitely not with a noob like you.

You mean the Liu Kang that's now a revenant and currently is one of the rulers of the NetherRealm. That Liu Kang?

Lol. There’s no way goro could’ve stomped Liu kang like that.

That scene eh! Such a joke.
Who do y'all think Goro is? Or is it because of how he was rubbished in that crappy 90s movie? Dude was MK champion for years before he was defeated. The only reason Liu Kang could survive him is plot armour.
