Brokeloser: Subaru from re zero has got to be my top 3 despised MCs.
I hated him him for being a weak always crying pussy,I hated him even more for being absolutely useless but I hate him most for simping after Emilia and ditching rem after that her love confession (Best love confession ever in anime history).
Lord knows how many times Ive tried to go back and finish that anime but I just can't no matter how hard I try. I was literally downloading it just now when I went on tiktok and got discouraged again,I had to pause and delete. No matter how you sugarcoat it this guy is a failure through and through.
Funny cos curving Rem's pathetic àss is one of the top reasons why Subaru's my goat
Blue Eye Samurai goes home with the Emmy in a hotly contested lineup that had it going against X-Men 97, Bobs Burgers, The Simpsons and Scavengers Reign.
Illusioneffect: Omo guy I've watched almost every Ghibli movie - what I mean is there're not just a lot of them and they don't make them like they used to
Have you watched:
- My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising - Millennium Actress - Your Name - Akira - A Silent Voice - Summer Wars - Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade?
CoolUsername: I think Shonen Jump is in a post-big three era right now. With JJK and MHA ending in quick succession, SJ doesn't have a super clear cut group of battle shonen manga leading the pack. Coupled with the emergence of the Jump+ app, viewership is being shared across a wide range of series.
When I look all the manga that have anime adaptations that have been released such as Spy x Family, Chainsaw Man, Jigokuraku, Undead Unluck, Elusive Samurai, Kaiju No. 8, etc, you can see that there's no shortage of hits out there already. Yet, we still have stuff like Sakamoto Days, Dandadan, Witch Watch, and Akane Banashi with anime adaptations in the pipeline.
But it doesnt stop there. A lot of new manga both on the magazine and the app have already been able to generate buzz and can only stand to gain from future anime adaptations. Watch out for titles such as Kill Blue, Nue's Exorcist, Ruri Dragon, Wild Strawberry, and Peakgurapeakchi Kagurabachi.
I'm mostly a manga reader these days and over the years I found myself moving away from shonen to explore other genres of manga. However, with the Jump+ catalogue these days, I don't even have to leave the Shonen Jump environment to find experimental stuff anymore. The only thing I have to worry about is the high rate of cancellation but all in all, I'm eating good.
Shounen Jump figured out pretty early that they'd have to diversify or become obsolete.
Every season of the wire had a different context, though the same actors featured
After the second season, it doesn't really have the same effect. Difficult to catch people by surprise twice with the same trick.
Vinland Saga, for example, could delve into horror for its third season but by then, the viewers won't be caught off guard as they were with the second season
abduleez1: NGL, I initially found it premium boring and dosed off many times while watching the first few episodes last year even tho I knew it was good. The minus 0.1 points deduction that didn't give it a perfect score is for that penalisation for not enjoying it at first.
I knew I was gonna enjoy it later but at that time I couldn't digest it properly. So I left it. The moment I realised they're both different things and wasn't going to be the same as season 1, the more I opened up to it.
It's the best character work I've ever seen for an anime. Einar back story was very captivating. Arnheid and Gardar story was very captivating and the climax of the whole season. Bruv, that shït was heartbreaking as fvvk. If they ever adapted the show/manga into live action, people go cry tire amd give it GOAT status easily.
That's why I criticise people who don't clearly understand what they are watching or the narrative a filmmaker is trying to pass. Those people who dunked at VS S2 are dumb@ss that needs to stick to action and vibes, cos even tho it felt boring and slow unlike the first, it was a storytelling masterpiece. The voice actors deserves Emmys.
That scene where the farmer — Arnheid's master beats her brutally rocked me to my bones. Proved the point of one bad day can turn any man, even a good man into a monster.
Aside the folks that hated on Vinland Saga S2 for hating sake, the criticism for the genre switch is valid. Returning to a show that already established itself as an action show in its first season expecting action is not irrational in any way.
A lot of viewers definitely needed to readjust to the execution, narrative style and pacing of the second season. I mean, even you admitted that it took some getting used to.
Predestin: You can't blame anyone for wanting action every second na, especially not with what S1 gave that shift in S2 was mad and the suspense through the whole season was the hope that he will fight again. e pain me say e no fight But it's still one of my favorite anime
It's funny how some people don't realize that sharp genre switches can cause whiplash with viewers. That whole defense of accusing viewers who complained about an anime that started off as an action anime swiftly shifting to a drama anime in its second season was just silly, to put it mildly.
Social media commentary on a lot of stuff is hilarious to watch unfold in real time, really.
While the first season focused on war fighting, battles and actions scenes whilst being top tier. It showed the brutality of war and somehow glorifies it. A look at war from the lens of the warrior's perspective or the perpetrators of war and the glory war brings to the "victors". The second season tells the tales of war in the eyes of the "losers". The consequences of war and the ramifications it means for being on the losing side.
Simply put: season one dwells on war with the eyes of the "conquerors", while season two focuses on war in the lens of the "conquered".
This is the part of your review that stood out to me the most. The kind of stuff that you didn't notice and probably never would have but now that it's been pointed out, you can't unsee it.
My Hero Academia keeps stressing me out with every new episode. Everytime I think the heroes are finally starting to get the upper hand, Hori just dashes that hope.
Everybody talks about how Gege hates his characters but we need to have a discussion about how much suffering Horikoshi is willing to put his characters through.
Hawks, especially, has seen better shege
P.S: Shout out to Misato Fukuen, Toga Himiko's VA. She really showed out this latest episode.
Remakes and reboots get a lot of shît these days but, every once in a while, I'm reminded why they can be a very welcome choice.
I highly doubt I was ever going to get around to watching the original Ranma 1/2 anime but this October, I get introduced to this crazy story with its entertaining characters when the Ranma 1/2 remake begins airing. Fall 2024 looking to be an even more stacked season than Fall 2022
Finally watched this trailer and I need the same people hating on The Rings of Power to keep the same energy here because Rings of Power did a better job capturing the feel of Middle-Earth and a bit of Tolkien than this. Nothing about this trailer gives off a Middle-Earth or Tolkien vibe, as good and interesting as the movie itself looks.
The casting team behind the One Piece live-action should be handed the task of casting for all adaptations. These nîggas have not missed with their picks yet
Illusioneffect: 😂 you're getting it all wrong. I never said the Drinker 'criticized' the series - he didn't: if you actually watched the video, he actually 'reacted' to the backlash it was getting as a 'I told you so' video So it's not irony🤷🏽♂️
You did say, and here let me quote you
Illusioneffect: It is totally possible to criticise something you haven't seen. It's like saying 'I can't criticise Cuties because I haven't seen it, that's bollocks to me!
So I'm most definitely not getting it wrong and it is, indeed, irony.
Illusioneffect: It is totally possible to criticise something you haven't seen. It's like saying 'I can't criticise Cuties because I haven't seen it, that's bollocks to me! You don't have to watch child porn before you criticise it. If people had told him already what's going on in the show, he has every right to criticise without watching
I want to believe you're confusing criticism with reactions. You can react to something you haven't consumed. You can't criticize it. And it's absolutely hilarious how the Cuties you used as an example is a great example of why you can't/shouldn't criticize something you haven't consumed.
