After James Earl Jones Passing, another member of the Coming to America Hall of Fame has sadly left us 😞. John Amos aka Mr. Cleo McDowell, Owner of McDowell's on Queens Boulevard and also known as the "Dad" on Good times has sadly passed....

Rest Easy King! 😞
Rest in paradise, King.

One of the reasons why I love Anime Corner is its versatility. They don't just revolve around only the mainstream popular shows.
Well deserved win

Is as if na Parry Hotter you read😂
He meant that, in the movies, Neville kills Nagini during a chase sequence while in the books, Neville kills Nagini right after pulling Gryffindor's sword from the Sorting Hat and nobody was being chased.

He's not wrong but it's a nitpick which isn't what I was expecting

I think I understand Joseph1832's point on some level.
Sorcerer's Stone and Chamber of Secrets were easy to adapt because they were the shortest books in the series, allowing the filmmakers to go scene by scene and even page by page.

However, things started to go off track with Prisoner of Azkaban. They regained some balance with Goblet of Fire, but after that, the adaptations never quite hit the mark, in my opinion.

To put it in perspective, how can Order of the Phoenix, the longest book have one of the shortest runtimes in the entire film franchise, second only to the last part? They could have split it into two movies, but that would have likely required more money, effort, and especially time, since Warner Bros. was on a tight schedule to release a film each year.

J.K. Rowling had significant creative control over the first two movies, but as the films' popularity grew, it became overwhelming for her, and Warner Bros. began to make more of the decisions. She had been on the brink of financial ruin a decade earlier, and the Warner Bros. deal turned her into a billionaire and one of the most influential people in the world, so she couldn't really complain. She has since admitted that while the movies did some justice to the books, she is excited about the new series that has been greenlit, which she hopes will be more faithful to the source material.

Now, apart from the obvious cash grab, why would they feel the need to revisit the series if the original film adaptations were truly satisfying? I'm not saying they were bad, but they weren't entirely great either.

Personally, in hindsight, the only films that have 100% rewatch value for me are Chamber of Secrets, Goblet of Fire, and Philosopher's Stone, in that order. I could care less about the others, to be honest.
My whole interest in this was because he used the term "butchered". That had me curious to hear why he thought so.

So you can imagine my disappointment when it was the same old points.

The movie adaptations indeed had their flaws but saying they butchered the books definitely feels like too many steps too far.

I mean, what do you want Eragon fans to say then? 😁😁

In the books,Neville didn't kill Nagini while it was trying to attack Ron and Hermione, that's a pointer.

There are far too many inconsistency in the movie....
Bruh!

Whats your personal review on the series?
Probably same as every one you've read about the show.

HBO did a great job adapting the source material while also building on the world and further fleshing the characters out.

Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey both do an amazing job in the lead roles. The trauma of their past, their initial distrust of each other gradually evolving into a close father-daughter relationship.

The show does a really great job of capturing the feel and bleakness of a post-apocalyptic world where people have to do whatever it takes to survive. The cinematography captures the greyness of the atmosphere where nobody's really good because they can't afford to be if they want to survive and/or protect their loved ones.
Even the music and lack thereof enhances this experience.

As a show, it's definitely one of the best in the year it aired and, as an adaptation, the kind of stuff fans pray for

Is this series that good? I've been seeing and hearing nothing but possible reviews about it, but I don't want to take the bait and end up regretting it.

It's the same with Fallout. Heard good reviews about it downloaded it but couldn't get past the 3rd episode.
Download 2 episodes and see if you can make it to the 3rd. Then the 4th, after that the 5th.
If you're not personally interested in the story or enjoying it after 3 episodes, you can drop it.

That's how this works

What happened? Did it get boring or did the humour start to get repetitive?
The latter. First episode was a hoot and then they just kept reskinning the same jokes. It got less funny with each subsequent episode. By the end, the humour was all zapped out

Netflix isn't the only platform streaming Korean content. You only see it on Netflix because that's the streaming platform you use.

Be like it's part of the criteria. Them fit dey force them to add gayyy self
Force Korea to add gay content? 😂🤣😂

You people seem to think Western media invented homosexuality. If anything, they came late to the party. Korea and some other Asian countries have a library of gay content that would make Netflix look like a Christian site.

You people need to visit other parts of the internet outside your echo chambers
