Look at Tetsuo's powers, then look at Neo's. Also peep the post-apocalytic settings of both movies.

Ghost in the Shell. Futuristic cyberpunk more related to Bladerunner than matrix. Androids searching for meaning.

The system by which people are rescued from The Matrix and reborn was heavily inspired by how the ghosts are created. Rewatch Motoko's birth scene for reference.

Ninja Scroll. Abeg wetin Jubei and Ninja demons have to do with the matrix's plot?

Neo, Morpheus and Trinity's relationship was loosely inspired by the one between Jubei, Dakuan and Kagero.

Paprika came out after the matrix. I just recently watched it. It has similar themes as it is related to dreams but the plot is vastly different from inception and the matrix.

Inception borrows so much from Paprika, it's been accused of straight up being a Paprika ripoff. Inception's hallway dream scene mirrors a similar scene from Paprika closely almost down to a T.

One of the greatest fighting game franchises turns 30. Got a lot of memories with this franchise. Looking forward to making some more

While Korea now has many movie great titles to call on, Japan can also boast same. Although, the Japs has been losing ground on live action in recent years while the Koreans has been consolidating.

Ju On, The Ring are always in best horror movies of all time.

The Wind Rises, My Neighbor Totoro, Spirited Away, Paprika, Akira, Ghost in A Shell, Perfect Blue, Princess Mononoke, Grave of Fireflies.....

These are some top well recognized premium Japanese anime movies even tho I haven't watched all.

Black Adam doing well or not isn't even the main issue now. So many upcoming projects are stuck either in development hell or the cutting floor with this werey in command. Early this year, we had a lot of potential content to look forward to. Now we don't even know if we're still getting Shazam 2, Doom Patrol S4 or what the hell is going on with Constantine. That movie they vex me ehn cos it was probably the first movie I've watched and begin to wonder what's the purpose of the story in the first place.
It's one clusterfuck you hardly understand shït cos what you thought was the endgame is whole nother shït entirely when you finally reach the ending.

It's an arthouse project after all. The storytelling is very niche. The ending is essentially a mindfuck or a hot mess depending on who's interpreting it. I could appreciate what they tried to do even while admitting it wasn't for me.
