Zoning is nowhere in the Constitution? Right! But same Bourdillon road people sponsored calumnious campaign between 2011 and 2015 that the Southwest is nowhere to be found in the top four offices even when they worked against Mulikat Akande for Speaker
Bourdillon will do what is best for Bourdillon. Recommendations for legislative leadership based on geographic considerations is asinine and doesn't aid in what the body is meant for. Passing laws, appropriating spending and executive oversight
PoliticsRe: NASS Leadership: Why Lawan And Gbajabiamila Should Not Be Elected by kayfra: 12:20am On Mar 31, 2019
Total BS. Zoning is no where in the constitution and shouldn't be basis for any serious discussion.

Parties vote in candidates based on seniority worldwide. Ours shouldn't be any different.

First of all its "Igbo" and not ibo you incontinent dunce, secondly majority of South Southerners prefer to align/relate with Igbos 100% over yorubas. I have this facts in good confidence because I have lots of friends and in-laws from the South South who bluntly tell me they can NEVER trust you people, and also opened up to me that they are safer and more at home with Igbos. But the South South people mostly have a problem with Igbos because of the unease of been dragged into Biafra just like that(which is understandable) . And that's why intermarriage between the Igbos and other ethnic groups in the SS is probably the highest in Nigeria. The only South South ethnic groups that seem cool with you guys are the Itshekiri's (because of lingual and cultural similarities with yorubas), and to some extent the Edo/Ishan people... the rest for lack of a better perspective would rather align with the Almajiri's up North than mess with you guys on any level.

First of all I'm a Benin guy to make things clear.

One thing I observed on Twitter is the hated given to the igbos by Yoruba's "celebrity". I've never seen where influential igbos on Twitter talk about South west or Yoruba's.

It's always Yoruba famous people even with verified handle insulting the south east, why is that?

Wetin igbos do una? Election never finish so why the hate for people that don't send you?

They keep mentioning abia, in fact I'll prefer to live in abia state than to live in ekiti, kwara, osun and co.

What exactly is wrong with us all?
YORUBA, IBO, HAUSA, wat does it matter if we are one of this tribe? Have we forgotten we all belong to the same country, we re NIGERIAN for crying out loud.
Only our coming together and living as one in any state or society can make such society a better one.

Comparing aint a solution to being under developed. Lagos isn't developed becoz of the yorubas, nahhhh, it is developed because all tribes in the country all appear and re functional in it. If you wanna see if this is true let the government pass a rule dat the IGBO'S AND HAUSA'S shud vacate lagos, that is wen you will realize lagos is nothing without every tribe.

And for those comparing LAGOS to other states, all you have to do is reason well, one of the key factors enjoyed by LAGOS is population although still its downfall, its income from the numerous number of its inhabitant brought about its development that is the reason why you can compare it to anyother state in terms of development.

Lagos is blessed basically because of the population of its inhabitants and because it encompass varieties of ethnic groups and not just Yorubas.

I am yoruba, and believe me other tribe in lagos have contributed more to its development than the yoruba, especially the IBO's, they have the largest number of business tycoons and they are very business oriented, the HAUSA'S i give KUDOS to them all the time as they re very hard working and with zeal they render whatever service they advertise to you, the YORUBA'S hardworking too but unlike the HAUSA'S, business oriented but unlike the IBO'S, rather than venture into business wat do most of the YORUBA'S do?

Delta consists of many tribe's among whom are igbos. Go home and ask about the history of many of those towns from Asaba down. Let me give you one son.
Onicha (now called onitsha due to the British) were mostly farmers and fishermen due to the presence of that River Niger. On the days of farming or even fishing, they could be gone for days. And almost all the Onicha indigenes had their farms across the river, sometimes they will go on their canoe and come back in the evening, sometimes the next day. Farm is called ugbo in the Anambra native dialect. With time, some started settling in their farms where they can rest and even trade off the proceeds of their harvest or fishing. That their farm is called Onicha ugbo till date.
If we can trace 100 years back, you will see that some siblings of same parents are now from two different states today.
Am from Imo state, but my younger brother recently met an ikwerre woman whose mother was from my compound (same surname). Ofcourse the woman's mother is long dead in ikwerre where she was married and the woman in question is now an old woman and with offsprings who had no idea of their IMO lineage.
Are you aware that a tribe in abia called Aro migrated to many parts of Nigeria and some settled somewhere in Lagos called Oyigbo though called Oyingbo today. Today, generations later, their great great grand kids are now scattered all over Lagos as Yorubas.
It will shock you if you dig a bit into your lineage.

We voted against our own son in 1999, so if we voted against someone from south ( even though we voted for him in 2015), is that the definitions of a traitor?

We only got it wrong in 1999 and after that, we have been aligned with whoever becomes the president .

2023 let each southern region supports whoever they like. SW is rooting for presidency, only electorates could stop the dream.

It is better for Nigeria to disintegrate than deny SE the presidency slot. PDP and APC should field SE candidates.

PoliticsRe: My Advice to APC, Tinubu,South West And Osibanjo For 2023 Presidency by kayfra: 3:10pm On Mar 23, 2019
life2017:
In an interview granted by the president of Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF), Yerima Shettima published by the Sun Newspaper on the 22nd March, 2019, he said North will field a better candidate in 2023. Some may argue he doesn't speak for the North. Even though that is true, his statement still need to be considered in making political calculations for 2023 presidency.

The best way for South West and Tinubu to prevent Northern presidency in 2023, is for Tinubu to sell an intelligent, smart, detribalised, Lagos bred technocrat from South South(1st choice) or South East(2nd Choice) to Buhari to be nominated as APC presidential candidate. I made South South first choice because the North and south west will be more comfortable with a south South candidate than a south east candidate. And also, it gives opportunity for south south to complete 8 years tenure as Jonathan did only 5.3 years. Once that is done, PDP will also zone their presidency to South South or South East. That will increase the chance of southern presidency tremendously.

We know for sure even if APC and PDP give their presidential ticket to a southerner, a popular Northerner like Kwankwanso may still chose to contest under third party like CPC, SDP,LP etc. But under this condition, it will be difficult for the northerner to win if and only if APC candidate is from South South or South East. The whole south will vote APC for president if APC candidate is from SS/SE even if PDP present SS/SE candidate. Should APC chose South West candidate and PDP chose South South or South East Candidate, southern votes will be divided. A candidate like Kwankwanso using any party like CPC, AA, ZZZ etc will have unified core northern(NW/NE) votes and may win.

In addition on the extreme end, should Tinubu and APC zone the presidency to south west, I see PDP zoning its presidency to the North. This is because south east will rather chose to be Vice president than allow South west to get presidency for a second time when South east have not experienced it. South South is likely to support the PDP Northern candidate as a revenge for Jonathan loss. With the Northern PDP candidate getting massive votes from South South, South east and North, south west will return to its opposition state of 1979 to 1983 during Shagari Era. It may not be a bad idea since South West were considered effective as an opposition.

South west must understand that Buhari only care about himself. There will be no federal might in 2023 election if Buhari remain president till 2023. 2023 election will be very free and fair. Should South west contest under APC and North contest under PDP, APC will definitely lose if Buhari is the president. Even though Buhari will publicly endorse the South West APC candidate, Buhari will deliberately make the election the most credible election since 1999 to boost his ego and "integrity image" which will favour the PDP northern candidate.

Looking at the voting population of all the regions, if people votes along regional lines, under a free and fair condition, North will continue to rule Nigeria forever because North continue to grow in population faster than south due to child/early marriage, polygamy and poor acceptance of birth control.

I think it is time south wake up from their delusion of anybody that is competent can contest. Without zoning it will be difficult for a southerner to rule Nigeria because of Northern advantage in population. As southerners, we should clamour for zoning to be included in the constitution. I think it is also delusion for a southerner to believe North population advantage over south is fake just because we see large area of land unoccupied when we travel to North. North is much bigger than South in land Area. Thus their population density is lower than that of south. The whole Five south east states land area summed together is only about 40% of Niger State. That will give some perspective while Northern population density is low despite higher population.

Northern population advantage is not fake today. It is real. North are more in numbers. There is no way we can catch them when we promote Monogamy and girl child education in the south. And we must not return to polygamy or early marriage just because of election. The only way for us to avoid voting disadvantage, is to make zoning constitutional and mandatory.

In a hypothetical Scenario health fail Buhari either by death or complete incapacitation and Osibanjo become president before the 2023 election, the south may come together in unity and support him if he plays the right politics of humility, inclusion and diplomacy. Under this scenario he will win a Northerner even if PDP chose a Northern candidate. He will get a reasonable support from some core northerners, he will get similar general national support Jonathan got in 2011, and also have the federal might to his advantage. Don't tell me he is a pastor and as such won't use federal might - the lord work in mysterious ways.
1. Osinbajo is going to be the next president
2. PDP zoning president to the north doesn't mean they'll zone VP to the SE. That combo already failed, so why do it again?
3. Saraki may as well become the PDP candidate for president. 4 years is a long way to redemption. That's essentially a Yoruba candidate
4. SW has beaten Northern candidates in the past
5. SE and SS PDP power brokers also have presidential ambitions and will outspend Kwankwaso in a primary. Remember that Tambuwal was the annointed candidate before Atiku bought out everyone
6. Osinbajo is going to be the next president
7. Both parties may as well implode before 2023
