Kennydoc: There's nothing really architectural about those buildings, neither will they have any worth in terms of tourism in the future. If Ibadan were to be the South East, most of those buildings would have been pulled down with modern buildings replacing them. I remember the Anglican and Catholic churches we met when we were kids. They weren't really bad, as a matter of fact, some of them had a little bit of European church architecture. They've all been demolished today and replaced with bigger and modern church auditoriums. A few of the buildings in Ibadan could have been left behind anyway to serve as memorials, but not having a large expanse of land crowded with such buildings, with people still living in them. They are simply not worthy of human habitation in the 21st century. Fact! We have a history to preserve. You don't We'll keep our ancient city-state structure with the relics and we'll keep building new buildings surrounding our ancient towns. The colonialists met us living in huge cities and they were dumbfounded, it's no accident that Yoruba is one of the most studied cultures worldwide and also the center of focus for every African studies Department in universities across the globe. It's also no accident that it survived slavery and it's indigenous religions are also in ascendance across the globe as i type this. Thanks but no Thanks. We'll keep our historic buildings intact. There's enough land to build new ones and we are building new ones while maintaining our ancient inner cities. |

BaaleOko: You clowns don't get it, Igbos are not interested who wins or loses in Lagos,at least majority of Igbos are in tune with the political realities on ground and know APC will always more than likely win in Lagos for obvious reasons(it's simply an APC state). The moral victory for the Igbos is that they politically proved they can exercise their franchise in Lagos, they went out and voted for the candidate of their choice, your threats to intimidate them showed why you lots are just noise makers. They dared you to try the nonsense we saw in the presidential elections in Lagos, I'm yet to see any yoruba carry out his threat of stopping Igbos from voting for PDP cause various polling units witnessed many Igbos that came out to vote, otherwise majority of them didn't even care about APC or PDP, but stayed back to tend to respective businesses and make their money. true2god: I am not here to reach you geography; travel to Rivers and Delta and see a sizable Igbo majority in Rivers and 30% in Delta. Have you heard of delta Igbo, Asaba, to Kwale? Have you heard of Egbemma, Ahoada and even Ikwere (Nkwere in Imo state) in River state? The Yorubas should not start a battle that they will suffer for in the long run.
If the south west and Lagos can be economically viable and successful without oil money from the Nigerdelta, you can ask all Igbos to leave Lagos while you use cocoa money to develop the southwest without expecting oil money from the Delta region. I can tell you that all Igbos left Lagos between 1967-1970 but your fathers said 'no', that they must not go. Who are you to blame, your fathers or the Igbo people? If push comes to shove the Igbos can still leave Lagos if only you agree to go your separate ways and build a fence along the Yoruba borders so that no single Igbo can cross. But you know what, your politicians are 100% sure that you guys will suffer hence they will never try such. You are piss poor and I'll ban you from hawking gala in Lagos State. Be claming Kwale and Ikwere that want nothing to do with you. Which oil dey Asaba? Claimers association of Nigeria. Gala doesn't contribute to SW IGR. GTFO! |

That's Yoruba architecture from 19th century and still standing in pristine condition. We'll preserve our ancient inner city while we continue our modern development in zoned sections of the city.

Politics › Re: Why Is Remi Tinubu Making Hate Speech Against Igbos? by kayfra: 4:12pm On Mar 09, 2019 |
true2god: it is this bad that, because of her husband, Bola Tinubu, this subtle hate speech has to come out. What Remi Tinubu is simply saying in the open is the thought of over 90% of Yoruba APC members (not all Yorubas) which is very dangerous to the peace the Igbos and the Yorubas has enjoyed in Lagos since 1970. I have a colleague in the office who, last week, told me the same thing in the office.
If Yorubas states are living very large and happy collecting allocations from oil producing states, whose land are ravaged as a result of the activities of oil companies, while at the same time dishing out threats on Igbo interest in Lagos, this is a serious course for concern.
Some Yorubas, led by Tinubu, started this crusade against the Igbos by attempting to disenfranchise them by destroying the vote of every part of Lagos having a very sizeable Igbo population and some shortsighted people termed it as 'part of politics'. This is no longer politics but an attempt to wipe away people politically in your enclave and I think it will greatly backfire against the aggressors now or later.
Remi Tinubu's should have rather kept quiet instead of being used as the mouthpiece of APC against the Igbos in Lagos. Where is Joe Igbokwe? I have not heard him speak for a while. Igbo states are not oil producing states of any significance. Cut the bullshit |

mu2sa2: The power plant is privately owned and kano has offered to bulk buy the power produced. Simple. Akwa Ibom can buy electricity from private investors but floating an airline, an ego trip, is the governor's priority, not providing electricity. The terrorist that is talking blowing up the power plant should know that if that should happen kano loses nothing, they will buy electricity elsewhere and Akwa Ibom is the loser in terms of jobs and taxes. Thanks for this |
Politics › Re: Udom Watches As 540mw Power Plant In Akwa Ibom Will Be Used To Power Kano by kayfra: 8:06pm On Mar 03, 2019 |
Blue3k: Here's a novel solution just buy the power. Kano is recieving the power because they are buying it. They signed a power purchase agreement with the company. The company is the business of selling power so there's no need to cry.
Kano stepping in to buy bulk electricity actually helped the company stay in business. They needed money to finance debt since Nigeria bulk Electricity Trading company doesnt want to assume more risk. Akwa Ibom didnt care to step in financially in this project. This despite fact the plant means jobs and tax revenue.
Akwa Ibom also has it's own power plant they can just upgrade it. The recieved approval years ago to do that aswell. If they invested in that there might be any power shortage in the state. Thanks for educating the mindless clanish people |
