For some people, it takes years to hit the spotlight, for others, lesser time. This list is made up of artistes who hit the spotlight in no time due to one fortunate incident or another and, are today making us question our sanity as to their chameleon-like sound inability to make subsequent good music or, their outright MIA move. For this list, we included artistes who are privileged to have recorded some hits, yet make us cringe whenever they announce new song release, and acts who won us over with their first or second records, but remain stagnant like a smelly puddle of contaminated water that refuses to dry up. In no particular order, here are the artistes that are making us wonder why we allowed to ‘blow’ in the first place. KCEE Yes, no doubt about it, he has gotten several charts success but somehow managed to find a spot on this list due to themediocrity of his songs. Kcee manages to sound less unintelligent for every record released with cringe-worthy quotes and mumbo-jumbo catch phrases that make us wonder why we ever allowed him a place in our phones and head. Sugarboy Hola Hola boy, watchu doing! When this young man first hit our airwaves, we thought, ‘hey, here is one who would never do wrong,’ if only we’d known. Since the release of his one hit record, Sugarboy has struggled to keep his name and head above waters even allegedly stooping low to being tagged a ‘thief’ with the song ‘KILAMITY, all to no avail. Despite the level of vigor unleashed upon bursting unto the scene, Sugarboy has without so much resistance joined the array of braggadocios acts the music industry is fervently working to be rid off, but….here we are. Dear Sugarboy, hasten up, we about to leave your corner, do something now! Dammy Krane Irregardless of his annoyingly repulsive credit card/identity fraud ‘izzues‘, Dammy Krane is one fine artiste. He has, during his hay days given us records that although were sometimes offensive and vulgar, he did come through. However, he has managed to create a well of doubt in our hearts with his ebbing career. I mean, it’s okay to take a break or even a step back to reinforce, but absolutely nothing is cool with retiring completely and trying for a comeback with felonies and lame accusations, it’s just not cool. Dammy, you are like a painful boil gradually seeping pus, you want to be this? fine… just make sure you are that type of boil that heals but leaves a beautiful mark. Joe EL I mean, there is no other definition for reaching your lowest low in music other than starting to sing about food, like seriously Yamarita, boo !!!? Joe El sums this list up, truth be told. He is the reason we should never ever allow anyone, the celebrity status, until they prove themselves on every Why possible, TV, radio, street, social media, speaking, writing, just about every bloody thing. Sean Tizzle It breaks my heart that Sean has to be included in this list, but hey, it is what it is. Y’all remember how bright the fire Sean was brandishing at the start of his career right? Yeah, that fire….somewhere along the line, not only did it burn out, it burnt off his persona and probably his skin? With just 4-years under his belt in the industry, Sean seems to have disappeared off of the face of music earth, struggling to be heard amongst a crowd he once had massive control over and reducing some of us into an emotional wreck whenever we come across any of his old materials. He reminds us of the honeymoon season in every new relationship that does not last. We don’t want this of Sean, he is way too talented, fight baby, fight! We gat you, we just need you to fight!Notable mentions include: Ice Prince Dremo Pepenazi Emma Nyra Know more acts you feel should be on this list, drop their names in the comment section. http://www..ng/entertainment/allow-artistes-blow-first-place |

A National Assembly member, Sen. Abdullahi Adamu (APC-Nasarawa), says the All Progressives Congress (APC) is making good what the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) made bad during its 16-year rule. Adamu, who made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Tuesday, said that the rot accumulated between 1999 and 2015 that PDP held sway in governance was much. “What it took them 16 years to damage, we cannot take just one year of some magical works to get everything corrected,” he said. According to him, the PDP fails to realise deliberately that the APC cannot just perform magic within this short period, because they have nothing on their agenda but mere propaganda. “They have not been doing enough work and spending enough time to plan what is called opposition in the real sense of democracy. They feel calling people names, abusing people and propaganda is opposition, this is wrong. “They will not get the desired result out ofthat. “For instance, the propaganda that Monkey Pox was induced by vaccines from the military, what can be more absurd than that and they have kept quiet because it is an agenda. “This negativity is from the PDP stable; this is a smear campaign, I pity their strategy,” Adamu said. On the recent comment by the PDP Senate Caucus that it would dislodge the ruling party, the lawmaker said that they were only giving the impression that they were still relevant in the political arena. He, however, said that the political space was big enough for associations wanting to be recognised like the PDP, to impact on the Nigerian polity. “PDP is no longer what it used to be. PDP is a party that had 16 years and then toward the end, they got so strong and gota bit power drunk. “Unfortunately, through intoxication theylost everything that there was in political fortunes, they had to go back to the table to start all over,” he said. Adamu, who is a former governor of Nasarawa, lauded Gov. Umaru Al-Makura, for his efforts at developing the state, saying “given the circumstances, he has given the best he can’’. “I support the government of Nasarawa. I believe no administration is perfect; no administration provides everything that the populace requires; I believe that he is doing well enough,” he said. https://guardian.ng/politics/apc-is-making-good-what-pdp-made-bad-sen-adamu/?_e_pi_=7%2CPAGE_ID10%2C2586557806 |

The NSE had last Wednesday suspended trading in the shares of Oando plc for two days. The Exchange in a notice said it was acting based on the directive of the Securities andExchange Commission, SEC. Nigeria’s former minister of power, Chinedu Nebo, had urged Nigerians to embrace renewable energy resources in the country, stating that Nigeria’s abundant resources in solar power, wind and hydro-power could provide the needed succour for its epileptic power supply. Nebo said the effective application of energy mix with particular reference to solar and wind energy would afford more Nigerians the opportunity of having easier access to power, without going through the constraints of epileptic power supply.” The most feasible, the most efficient, the most environmentally friendly has been given to us by God and we have ignored it. Solar has the potential. We still have more sunshine than Germany that has attained over 50 percent solar power for electrification. This is an area we must give attention to,” Nebo told BusinessDay in an exclusive interview. Nigeria’s epileptic power supply has been a source of worry to many, as a result, the Federal Government has been talking about energy mix, which it says will avail more Nigerians numbering up to100 million who are not connected to the national grid more access to power. Nebo, sharing further his experience witha solar company in Nigeria’s capital Abuja, suggested to the Federal Government to ensure that most buildings and estates by the Ministry of Housing could adopt a model of having links with solar panel to enjoy more access to electricity through sunshine. “I had the privilege of visiting a company, Blue Camel Energy in Guzape district in the Federal Capital Territory, and looking at what those people have been able to do with solar energy. Integrating, a little bit of wind turbine, and I was fascinated. For me, this is an idea of what an estate should look like, wherein incorporated in the design is solar energy for the buildings,” he said. The former minister pointed out further that,” In Africa, God blessed us with sun. If you added all the fossil fuel capacity for electricity, hydro-power for electricity, in Africa, then you add hydro-thermal where the under-groundwater is used and the heat is used to generate electricity, if you added all these together, solar alone could give Africa three times power than all of these put together. According to Nebo, “In the Northern partof Nigeria, it is even better, because theyhave 50 percent more solar than we do in the Southern part. Virtually every part of Nigeria is amenable to solar power. More so, some wind turbines have been designed in such a way that they take lowvelocity. “In the coast lines where you have a super-abundant wind velocity, you can also attain almost 100 percent efficiency in wind turbine. That is the reason why you must use very efficient mechanisms in this new turbine technology to generate electricity.” The world is becoming increasingly environmentally clean and friendly, as countries are shifting to and promoting the use of cleaner energy sources that are renewable. Industry watchers want the Federal Government to shift attention to renewable energy to avert Nigeria the looming crisis of epileptic power supply. Nigeria has over 200 dams that are almost abandoned, and are inefficient with regard to electricity generation. Energy experts want the Federal Government to attract more private capital towards its infrastructural financing to explore more advantages ofhydropower generation. Nebo suggested to the government to pull more investments into its dams to ensure that multiple turbines were put in the dams wherever water flows from the dams to generate more electricity. https://www.businessdayonline.com/nebo-explains-nigeria-embrace-renewable-energy-power/?_e_pi_=7%2CPAGE_ID10%2C9583559003 |

By Dirisu Yakubu ABUJA-As the countdown to the December 9 elective national convention of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) begin, Nigeria’s immediate past President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, Thursday took the Muhammadu Buhari-led administration to the cleaners, saying the All Progressives Congress (APC) government is being run on lies and propaganda. Speaking in Abuja Thursday while receiving in audience one of the national chairmanship aspirants in his office, Professor Tunde Adeniran and members of his campaign team, Jonathan said the solidarity being shown to the party even though it lost election at the centre in 2015 is a pointer that “There is something in the PDP. While pledging to speak up some day on the giant strides recorded by the party in the course of its 16-year stewardship, the former President took a veiled dig at a serving Minister who he said, once stated that all it took a serious government to fix the power challenge was six months. “The PDP administration for 16 years did well and will continue to do well but this administration has done nothing,” he said, adding that “They deployed propaganda and lies at a professional level. “In the power sector, we did well to revive it. A State governor attacked our government, saying that any serious government should be able to fix the power challenge within six months. Today, APC has been in power for how many years now? Fortunately the then governor is in the APC Government as a Minister,” he said, fighting a bout of laughter. Extolling the qualities of Professor Adeniran, Jonathan reminded PDP faithful not to forget that for the party to stand a chance to oust the APC in 2019, “We need a competent, reliable and a courageous national chairman who would then lead the party to victory come 2019.” https://www.vanguardngr.com/2017/10/jonathan-hits-buhari-apc-govt-lies-propaganda/?_e_pi_=7%2CPAGE_ID10%2C9701787423 |
Popular Malaysia-based Nigerian rich boy, Ray Hushpuppi has caused unrest among his followers after he revealed the source of his income. Hushpuppi left his audience in a slight shock after he requested for money from his soon-to-be friends on Snapchat and he got more than 1million naira in minutes! Fans in shock after Hushpuppi finally revealed his source of income. The Instagram big boy said he wished he had friends who would just send him $1,000 to spoil himself for the weekend, like a joke, one friend asked for his account details and in a split second, had transferred N300,000 to HushPuppi. Anotherfriend ‘proved his friendship’ by transferring half a million naira to him. HushPuppi received N400,000 from a third person soon after. According to him, he’s a beggar by profession, although, most followers and fans did not believe him. Recall that recently, popular Nigerian singer, called out the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC to go after Hushpuppi. The ‘Limpopo’ crooner says Hushpuppi’s show of wealth on social media was way blown out of proportion andshould disclose the source of his wealth. This came after Kcee threw in support for rapper, Phyno, following the fake Patek wristwatch saga on social media initiated by Hushpuppi. Drama started when the Malaysia-based Nigerian rich boy shamed Phyno and Ice Prince on Snapchat, saying theywear fake Patek wristwatches. https://naija.fm/naija-gist/fans-in-shock-after-hushpuppi-finally-revealed-his-source-of-income/?_e_pi_=7%2CPAGE_ID10%2C7798767601 |
It seems the porn business in Nigeria is opening up. Back in February 2017, Pulse Gist profiled Kingtblakhoc, a man who claims he is Nigeria's first porn star. If you have stumbled into the R18 section of Twitter NG you would have heard of him. In this Bleep area of the micro-blogging site, a new player has come into the fledgling industry. Free Thinkers Production is the name of the company and it has released a bunch of titles such as "Nigerian Sister-In-Law", "Visa Girl", and "Stoned Girl." Free Thinkers Production or FTP has been in business for two years and one of the men behind it is a guy known as @datkindboyon Twitter and on xvideos. In this line of business, anonymity isn't surprising as the men behind the business prefer to be known by their alias. Pulse was able to snag an interview with @datkindboy and he opened up about the porn business in Nigeria. "I've always loved porn, and I believe Nigeria is number one in anything entertainment in Africa plus Nigerians are among the countries with the highest number of porn watchers on the Internet" he states. His love for porn gave him the idea to start this business and with a capital of N100,000, he was able to float his own porn production company. The porn flicks and straight up raw and do not have the glossy post-production feel of its American counterparts. When you watch them, you would have no doubt that they are Nigerian produced. In one of the clips, you can hear one of the female performers speaking in pidgin English. How do they get the women that perform in their videos? Nigerians are very conservative about sex in public even though in private it is another ball game. @datkindboy says the women in the videos are gotten from the talent pool of video vixens and strippers- two relatively healthy industries in Nigeria. "I believe Nigerian girls won't mind featuring in a porn movie as long as the pay is good" he further says. @datkindboy readily admits that right now the industry is more at an investing stage than returns but the feedback from consumers has been motivating to say theleast. He says via e-mail "I have to say I'm really surprised at the comments we've gotten so far, our call lines are always busy with calls and messages from Nigerians both male and female wanting to act or to commend our effort, some to show appreciation. "It has been very good so far, one of the reasons we are still in the business, Nigerians love what we do 100 percent. Even though we try to pretend in public. "The patronage of these videos on Twitter and xvideos has led to the creation of the Free Thinkers Production's website aptly called Naija Raw Porn where members can subscribe to get exclusive content. FTP uses private apartments and hotel rooms to shoot. @datkindboy says he handles the camera, directs and "basically everything" else. The production company also claims that the performs in its videos go for HIV/STI tests. @datkindboy also adds "And it's a mutual agreement between the male and female models to feature in the movies." The porn business in Nigeria is growing. We don't have a Larry FlyntorHugh Hefneryet but some people have started making the business grow. "There's a high rise of upcoming producers in the industry, as well as aspiring models, once it becomes a multi million industry in Nigeria, a lot of people will want to venture into it, as long as the pay keeps rising," says @datkindboy. Well, this one made in Nigeria business for you to patronize...if this is your sort of thing. http://www.pulse.ng/gist/naija-raw-porn-free-thinkers-production-spills-all-id7126537.html
