THE FIRST TIME

She lay still and listened. They were all asleep. It was that time when they never stirred. It was time. She straightened out and murmured a few words and in a second she was standing next to her corporeal body. She contemplated her next move and only by thinking about it she was already over the little body. She spoke a few words and a full grown man came out of the sleeping infant. She held his hand and thought about the roof and in that instant, they were there.

“How do you feel?” she said in perfect English.

“There’s always a first time isn’t there?”

She chuckled and said “Don’t worry. You will like this life.”

“Why did you choose me?”

“I want to catch them young. The next person will even be younger.”

“I am barely a month old!”

“The next person I will get from the womb.”

“Hmmm. I’m not asking how because I know you know what you are doing. But may I ask who it will be?”

“Ndifreke and Maya’s baby.”

“Is she pregnant?”

“No. I already checked. They had sex when she was not ovulating.”

“He does not want a baby yet.”

“Of course he will have a baby.”

“But he is afraid of his joblessness.”

“If he does not want a baby, he should not have sex. If you play, you will pay.”

“Yeah. But he plans to buy condoms for the next time.”

“I know. He won’t use them don’t worry.”

“You can control that too?”

“Less than ten percent of condoms bought get used. Properly. And consistently. When people claim to be in love, they throw away inhibitions. The condom is the first inhibition they discard. You won’t find many people who have had sex together ten times who have used the condom ten times.”

“So we wait until he throws away the inhibition?”

“We can do that, or Maya will not let him use it.”

“Oh I see.”

“Come,” she said to him and held his hand again and thought about Maya and in that instant, they were in the room Maya shared with her mother and siblings. Maya’s mother lay alone in the bed. Her three children shared the space on the floor. The center table demarcated where her sixteen years old brother Tobi lay from where Maya and her sister lay.

“Mama Tobi misses her husband. That is why she would not share the bed even with her grown daughter. She still wants him back even though she will not admit it. Now Listen.”

She bent and touched her forehead and immediately they could hear Mama Tobi’s voice.

“My husband, come back to me. Come back to me, my love. It is blood that I have flowing in my veins. I have stayed long enough without a man. I cannot come to the prison because I must make them believe I am still unhappy with you. But I miss you, my husband. I want your strong thing inside me again.”

She then turned to him and said: “touch the boy”.

He touched the boy’s forehead and they heard his voice: “Maya. Oh Maya. Why are you my sister? How can the person I love so much be my sister? I want you, Maya, please make it easy for me. I want it by mutual consent.”

He looked at her and she chuckled and said “He is incestuous. It runs in the family. He will rape her too. She is suspicious that is why she put the table between them. But he will attack her sooner rather than later.”

“Should I touch Maya now?”

“No. We want to make sure she doesn’t let him use a condom. Now watch and learn. Come.”

She made him lie on top of her and handle her. When she began to twist in her sleep she put her hand over her face and made different kinds of hand gestures and then went to her ears and said “you don’t love me that is why you want to use it. Am I a prostitute? I told you I am in my safe period.” They then stood aside and watched as Maya twisted and turned and then lay still after a while.

“Let’s go” she said to him and took his hand and imagined they were on the roof and immediately they found themselves there.

“So she had a dream?”

“Precisely.”

“I understand.”

“Good.”

“I want to see the others,” he said.

“Who do you want to see?”

“Sister Esther.”

“I don’t think it is a good idea.”

“Why?”

“She may have prayed.” Then she closed her eyes and said “No she didn’t. But he is with her.”

“Who?”

“Kingsley.”

“The Undertaker?”

“No need for jokes now.”

“Okay.”

“She does not pray when he goes to meet her. She thinks it is a sin to have sex and feels guilty. But as a matter of fact; their coming together usually produces incredible power so much so that I can’t go anywhere near. I have to wait for them to finish if I must enter. And then I will hope the guilt comes and she doesn’t pray. But she always feels my presence and begins to shout that name. Please don’t say the name.”

“I understand.”

“Good.”

“But there are times when she is afraid. It is on days she is afraid that I am able to enter. Fear paralyses. That is why the first thing you must learn to do is how to use fear.”

“How do I do that?”

“Make sounds like they don’t know. Shake something. Blow cool or hot air. It really doesn’t take much for them to start to fear. When they are afraid, even if they say the name, they say it without conviction. You can still strike.”

“All right.”

“What about Irikefe?”

“He has seen me like this before. I managed to confuse him. But he has remained suspicious of me.”

“How did he see you?”

“Every human being has the ability to see in spirit. The inner eyes open every now and again. His opened when I did not expect it to. I have worked on him not to remember exactly what he saw. But I cannot erase it totally. But he is useless. There is nothing to gain with him.”

“So why did he see you?”

“I am out every night. At certain times the blood radiation is such that people can easily transcend planes. Everyone is spiritual. Some are more aware than others. But we are aware in a way many others are not” She closed her eyes and opened it and said “So it was one of those moments. I entered the room and he opened his eyes and recognized that I was there.”

“Sorry about that.”

“No worries. Occupational hazard.”

“What of Ndifreke?”

“I have already finished with him. His people handed him over to me. He will never get a job. Unless…”

“Unless what?”

“Never mind. It is important at the start you know that you can achieve whatever you want to achieve.”

“If you say so.”

“I say so.”

“I want to show you something. Come.”

She took his hand and thought about it and they found themselves in Cosmas’ room.

“What is that light surrounding him?”

“It is protection. They say he blasphemes, they say he is not of God because sometimes the things he says go against the grain. But he stands well.

"Let me tell you this: It doesn’t matter what anyone worships or believes. If you have no fear, nothing can harm you. People do not know the kind of power or protection they have. Fear not, the Christian book says three hundred and sixty-five times. But flap a curtain now and they will sh*t in their pants. They make it easy for us to toy with them. But Cosmas is different. He knows the law. So he is untouchable. He knows who I am but he is not bothered. He even sits and chats with me in the daytime. He is the only one I will say you should not bother troubling.”

“Okay.”

“I think that is enough for one day. It has been a good first time.”

“Thank you.”

“Next time, I will let you have a little fun.”

“I can’t wait.”

“Now when we get back, I want you to cry till daybreak. Cry till Akunna runs mad.”

He chuckled and said “no problem.”

Education / JAMB Remits N7.8 Billion To Federal Govt From 2016 UTME by kayjay007(m): 3:24am On Dec 13, 2017
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) on Tuesday said it remitted N7.8 billion to Federal Government coffers
from 2016 University and Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME).

The board’s Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, made this known when a delegation from National Officers Council of Colleges of Education Academic Staff Union (COEASU) paid a visit to the board in Bwari, FCT.

Oloyede, who dismissed the speculated N5.2 billion as amount remitted to Federal Government during the period under review, said “the board paid in N7.8 billion to Federal Government and not N5.2 billion.”

He said the board would work to ensure that it met the needs of the sector and strive to sustain education standard in the country.

He called for cooperation from stakeholders in the education sector to further raise standard, saying “let us work together and push government to do the needful so that education would be where it ought to be.

“When we identify obstacles, we could push government to amend some areas to enhance the sector.

“I do not see why we should have more than four credits before one can get into college of education, forgetting that it created an opportunity for people like us in the past.

“I assure you that UTME score does not determine the quality of one’s education; it is the environment that makes the difference obvious by segregating institutions.”

Oloyede challenged the officers on the need to officially make a case for National Council of Education, which he said was made up of commissioners of education, to review the number of credits to be attained by intending candidates of colleges of education.

He said the board would not hesitate to work with unions to set up a Task Force that would check irregularities that may cripple the sub-sector.

Earlier, the President of COEASU, Mr Nuhu Ogirima, said that the challenge had been an obstacle to admission status of colleges nationwide.

He called for review of the current application process into colleges of education, saying “a review is imperative, given the fact that the current application process predisposes candidates toward university education.

“Notwithstanding the overwhelming preference for admission into university, the provision for college of education as third choice in JAMB sought to obscure the system from others.

“After the selection of the very best from the first choice list, colleges of education are left with no choice in JAMB but the low performing candidates and this does not augur well for the teacher education system.

“The union would, therefore, appreciate if JAMB, without prejudice to her establishment law, explore the possibility of collaborating with stakeholders in colleges of education.

“The collaboration would provide enabling environment that could improve the admission status of the colleges nationwide.”

He announced that the council would soon set up a committee that would come up with memorandum to tackle the issues before the necessary quarters.

The meeting was attended by directors of the board.

Politics / Amaechi Tackles Jnathan Over $65bn Left By Obasanjo by kayjay007(m): 3:12am On Dec 13, 2017
Minister of Transportation, Mr Rotimi Amaechi, has fired yet another shot at former President Goodluck Jonathan, this time, alleging that the $65 billion in the excess crude account left by former President Olusegun Obasanjo was frittered away by his administration

This came less than a week after the minister said that the time to stop blaming Jonathan had come.

Speaking with NAN in Lagos, Amaechi said former President Obasanjo left $65 billion in the excess crude account but it was frittered away.

The excess crude account is an account used to save oil revenues above an amount derived from a defined benchmark price. ECA was established in 2004, with its objective primarily to protect planned budgets against shortfalls due to volatile crude oil prices.

Amaechi said that the wastage in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, era was alarming.

He said: “When Obasanjo was leaving, he left about $65 billion in the excess crude account, but this money was frittered away and we wonder where the money is. As at then, the price of crude oil during President Jonathan’s administration hovered around $140. With this, they did not leave anything for the incoming government.

“With that kind of money, we should be thinking of connecting Nigeria through rail system. The rail from Ibadan to Kano would have been completed. Also the rail gauge between Port Harcourt to Maiduguri and Lagos to Calabar, but all the excess crude money was frittered away. We need to ask questions.”

Amaechi said his pursuit for change made him to leave the PDP, for the All Progressives Congress, APC.
The minister added that he would have used his position as the then chairman of PDP governors’ forum to fight the situation but he felt there was a need to cross over to APC because of his belief in President Muhammadu Buhari.

“I moved from PDP to APC because I was tired of what was happening in the party. I had the option to stay because of my position as the chairman of the governors then. I could have used my position to fight them (PDP) and get what I wanted because I believed Nigeria was not going in the right direction by then.

“My attention and belief shifted to Buhari who was the viable alternative. I believe in the change mantra because it was the only way to improve on what is on ground. He has not disappointed because the economy is now back on track and is growing. This is evident in the current prices of food items because it is getting lower,’’ he said.

Amaechi said that prices of food would further crash because of the efforts of the government at making the country self-sufficient in food production.

He added: “With the change going on, the price will further crash because before this government came in, prices were soaring because we were importing food items, things we can grow here.

“Now the policy of government which banned the importation of rice is working; the price is now about N16,000, but before now, we were importing about N3 billion worth of rice. Before now too, we were importing another N3 billion worth of poultry products, we were importing tomatoes but with the ban, we are now concentrating on our local production.

“Many states in the northern part of the country are now growing rice in large quantities though by right, the south-south geo-political zone should be doing that because they are the ones in the swampy area.”

Meanwhile, Jonathan, reacting through his media aide, Mr. Ikechukwu Eze, said: “We are not interested in reacting to that as that will amount to dignifying Amaechi’s unending flip-flops. He hasn’t said anything new.

“It has been the same excess crude propaganda he has been playing up since he was a governor. If actually $65 billion was missing, why don’t they deploy their EFCC to trace and recover the money? Talk is really cheap,” he added.

Nigeria youths are copying the wrong model of leadership,

Amaechi, also was reported to have said that Nigeria youths are copying the wrong model of leadership, an act, he notes, may jeopardise their future.

Amaechi made the assertion at the Future Awards Africa held at the Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos last Saturday.

He said the youth were not ready yet to embrace a corrupt-free society because they were wrongly orientated by those who were using them for their interest.

“The problem with Nigerian youths is that they just want to take over from the elite but they are not ready to embrace change, they don’t want reform.

“They say that the roles being played by the elite are not satisfactory, but they must be ready to upset the leaders of this country through their ingenuity.

“For example, during our days of activism, we engage government over unfavourable policies and we get headlong even during the military administration.

“Now, student union presidents want a vehicle and a driver to be driving him about to attend meetings; during our time, who dares have a car, we all struggle on the street, Amaechi told NAN.

He advised youths to rise up to the fight against corruption instead of a tacit support to those that they feel were their benefactor.

“I will advise the youth to fight against corruption with all their energy instead of giving tacit support to those they think are their benefactors.

“During our time in the student union struggles, we rose against impunity and organised protests; but what happens today, the government of the day announces the money siphoned but the youth keep quiet.

“Such astronomic stolen amount government announced wouldn’t have happened during our time, all the street would have been filled with youths protesting and seeing that the culprits were punished.

“Today, we have some of our youths dancing behind the corrupt politicians for a pot of meal that will not last long thereby mortgaging their future,’’ he said.

Amaechi said that Nigerian youths should stand up to the reality of life by asking questions from leaders on how they managed the economy and the commonwealth of Nigeria.

“Nigerian youths should start asking questions from leaders, including me about what we are doing with our resources. It’s time to reject those that put us in this.

“We should all desist from pulling our country down through corruption. But unfortunately, the youth are not interested in that, all what they want is how to look good.

“Maybe they looked at me wearing designer shoes, what they will notice is that designer and how they can get it. That is not supposed to be.

“During my time as a student union leader, I had only two pairs of clothes. But now the value system is wrong and the youth are copying wrong leadership model,’’ he said.

Politics / Ministry Of Tea, Goats And 2019 Affairs By Mahmud Jega by kayjay007(m): 2:55am On Dec 13, 2017
Ministry of Tea, Goats and 2019 Affairs

By Mahmud Jega

For the second time in as many months, Imo State governor Owelle Rochas Okorocha has blazed the trail in Nigerian governance by thinking out of the box. Only a month ago he won accolades from Imo youths [in the form of stones, broken bottles and social media insults] for erecting a statue in Owerri in honour of South African President Jacob Zuma. Okorocha has now blazed three more trails, first by creating 28 state ministries, six more than the Federal Government.

He blazed a second trail by creating a Ministry of Happiness and Couples’ Fulfilment. This is very important because in nearly 60 years since independence, Nigerian federal and state governments still have only old-fashioned ministries such as Works, Agriculture, Education, Health and Justice. Our   economy and society have evolved far beyond the remits of these ministries. No wonder that there are many new problems in our country which no ministry is capable handling, such as Yahoo Yahoo, rural banditry, industrial-scale kidnapping, several million IDPs, illegal migration through the Sahara Desert, militancy and insurgency. The third important trail that Okorocha blazed was that he appointed his sister, Mrs Ololo as the Commissioner for Happiness. Some other state governors in Nigeria would have wanted to appoint their sisters and daughters as commissioners but they are afraid of their citizens.

The Federal Government and most state governments in Nigeria are grappling with unique problems that were not envisaged at the time the current ministries were created. That is why many of our ministries these days do not know what they are supposed to do. In the olden days, government used to publish every ministry’s duties in a gazette but I have not set my eyes on a gazette, federal or state, for many years now. That is why civil servants sit around just counting the days before the next salary. It is for this reason that I recommend to the federal and state governments to take a cue from Okorocha and create forward-looking ministries that are appropriately named to address modern day problems. I want us to take a cue from Egypt and call a spade a spade in naming our ministries. As a very young student I noticed that every military force in this world was under a Ministry of Defence. I wondered, if all soldiers in the world are on defence duty, why are there wars all over the place when no one is attacking? It was only Egypt that appropriately named its own as Ministry of War.

Lest some people say that I am not giving constructive suggestions, I will like to suggest a few ministries that some governments can create in order to call a spade a spade and also tackle modern problems. For example, Kano State government recently spent N208m to empower 5,200 masu shayi [tea sellers] in the state. Each tea seller got cartons of noodles, beverages, liquid and powdered milk, tea, crates of eggs, white sugar, spaghetti, bread and N40,000 to assist his trade. I even saw the video of a beautiful dance and song by a dancing troupe in support of the program. The singers said Baba Ganduje has instructed every Kano man and woman to drink tea. I therefore advise him to create a Ministry of Tea, Bread and Butter in order to realise this goal of massive tea drinking in Kano State. In neighbouring Katsina State, the government has distributed 4,500 goats to secondary school students under its Goat Empowerment Program. KTSG should create a Ministry of Goats and Small Ruminants in order to ensure that everybody gets a goat. It should however be aware that goats were listed as a factor in the decline and fall of the Roman Empire.

Borno State government is busy rebuilding shattered towns in Bama, Monguno and Damboa and I read recently that United Nations is shopping around for $1billion to assist it. I think the problem is that the name of Borno State’s Ministry of Reconstruction, Rehabilitation and Resettlement does not impress rich impress rich donors. If it is renamed Ministry of Boko Haram War and Fall-Out Mitigation, it will open more Western donor purses. Some years ago I accompanied a friend on a visit to rural Plateau State and was puzzled to see deep potholes all over the landscape, many of them full of water. When I asked, I was told that they were left overs from the days of tin mining. Sure, when we were kids, tin mining in Plateau was a more popular topic in Geography than oil. I therefore suggest the creation of a Plateau State Ministry of Former Tin Mines. It should fish out all the British and other European miners that scarred the land and drag them back here to fill the holes they left behind.

Benue State should immediately create a Ministry for the Redirection of Popular Aggression. The state government is months behind in salary payment and Governor Ortom said he needs N40billion to clear the backlog. Suddenly he got a saving grace in the Anti-Open Grazing Edict and all the people’s fury was redirected from salaries to herdsmen. The new ministry will consolidate on this huge political gain. On the other hand, Kaduna State has this year alone sacked 4,000 district and village heads, 21,000 teachers, 4,000 local government workers and is planning to “rationalise” the state civil service. Rumours are that it intends to replace all of them with computers. KDSG should create a Ministry of Digital Teaching, Chieftaincy and Local Government Service. If a computer is installed to replace a village head, it will perform much better because it will make a more scientific decision on every local matter that is brought to it.

Insofar as most Nigerian slaves brought back from Libya took off from its territory, Edo State needs to create a Ministry of Trans-Saharan Trafficking and Mediterranean Affairs. This ministry should take over the journey from traffickers and pirates and regulate it along the lines of the Pilgrims Board. Zamfara State must create a Ministry of Rural Banditry and Cattle Rustling because none of its old-fashioned ministries at present could rise to the challenge of the new phenomena. Adamawa State should create a Ministry of Divided Loyalties, which is its biggest problem since Atiku Abubakar defected to PDP. Governor Mohammed Bindow is in quandary; eight commissioners were allegedly preparing to defect to PDP and Atiku’s daughter continues to be the Commissioner of Health in an APC cabinet. I urge the Cross River State government to create a Ministry of Missed Opportunities. CRSG serially lost Bakassi to Cameroon, lost all its oil wells to Akwa Ibom and also lost Tinapa Resort to abandoned projects. The new ministry should explore every opportunity for a second chance. Ekiti State on the other hand should create a Ministry of Political Bluster and Anti-Malu Posturing.

As for the Federal Government, it should please create a Federal Ministry of Promise Fulfilment and 2019 Affairs in the upcoming cabinet reshuffle. Among the ministry’s gazetted schedule of duties, it should end the Boko Haram war, resettle all IDPs; apprehend all kidnappers, bandits, militants and cattle rustlers; end all migration to Europe through the Sahara desert and Mediterranean Sea; increase power supply to 20,000 megawatts at lower tariff; end fuel importation; bring the naira back to parity with the US dollar and complete all projects that we have been hearing about since our childhood including Ajaokuta Steel, standard gauge railway, inland container terminals, Baro inland port, Mambilla Dam,  Oso condensate, Second Niger Bridge, Lake Chad rejuvenation and Niger Delta clean up, all before 2019. I know the right person who should become the Minister Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary for Promise Fulfilment and 2019 Affairs but I have run out of space.

With the way their network is they can even promise 1terabyte of data for #200 cos they know we won't use up to 1mb in a month. grin.

Education / Re: Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU Cut Off Mark For 2017/2018 Is Out Online. by kayjay007(m): 9:29am On Nov 23, 2017
Need2learnmuch:
There are certain criteria to be
observed by students before
being admitted to study in any
of the courses in any university.
One of these which include
meeting the required cut of mark for each schools’ as well
as the courses itself. It is very
easy to obtain admission if one
has met the required cut off
mark for the admission into a
particular course.

Cut off mark is an agreed
score set by a particular
institution as a basics of
admitting students into
the department of study.
This score is usually accredited to candidates
based on their
performance in a
particular examination.
However, students who
have scored above the required cut off mark will
be given admission and
preferentially treated in
admission process above
those who have met the
exacts cut off mark.

OAU JAMB Fixed Cut-off Mark
2017

Following the scrapping out of
post UTME by the federal
government, the Joints
Admission and Matriculation
board (JAMB) had given a bench
mark of 180 and above for candidates applying for
Universities, Polytechnics,
Colleges of Education. Hitherto,
the Obafemi Awolowo University has follow suit in the 180 general cut of mark of JAMB.

You might ask questions like: I
had 180 and above but was not
still given the admission to
study my desired course?

Candidates with higher scores
are first considered in admission
basics candidates with lower
scores though might meet the
cut off mark of 180 may likely
not be admitted. In fact, it is the higher your scores, the higher
the chance of being admitted.

OAU Departmental Cut-off
Mark 2017

The Obafemi Awolowo University does not really have a specific cut off mark for
courses. However, candidates
who have scored a minimum of
one 180 in UME examination is
eligible to apply for admission
into any of their choice courses.

Due to the high number of
students wishing to study in the Obafemi Awolowo University, the admission processes is
competitive and admissions is
given based on the higher the
jamb scores, the higher the
chances of being admitted.

Below are courses offered in the

The way people will display unwarranted hate at this gay couple on this thread, let’s not forget the statistics- Nigeria ranks number one in viewing gay porn in the world. So most Nigerian men may secretly be homosexual. I’m very sure it’s the overly homophobic ones that never fail to state how much they hate gay people that fall into this category and they’re everywhere on this thread!!! cheesy
Na u rank them number one? Please talk with facts.

HARDLABOR:
Am speechless......

.A man gets home early from work and
hears strange noise coming from the
bedroom, he rushes upstairs only to
find his wife naked on the bed
sweating and panting. "What's up" he
asked" I am having a heart attack" the
woman cries. He rushes downstairs to
grab the phone for an ambulance, but
just as he's dialing, his 4yr old son
comes up and says;"Daddy! Daddy!
Uncle Fred is hiding in your closet and
he's got no clothes on. The man slams the
phone down and storms upstairs
into the bedroom past his screaming
wife, and rips open the wardrobe
door, sure enough, there is his brother
totally naked on the closet floor. "You
idiot!" the man says, "my wife is having a
heart attack and you are
running around naked scaring the
kids. Come on dress up we need to
take her to the hospital". Describe the
husband in one word**
I sentence you to 1000years in prison with HARDLABOUR for trying to derail. MTCHEWWW!!! number one mofo.

court verdict: Guilty of Rule one....Now swerve!!!
