Politics / AGF, Malami Immortalizes Retiring Perm. Sec, Dayo Apata by Kaylet: 9:14am On Jul 24, 2021
Copied

The Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN) has named the E-Library of his ministry after the retiring Solicitor General of the Federation (SGF) and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr Dayo Toba Apata (SAN).

Malami announced this, on Friday, during the send forth on retirement and handing over ceremony in honour of the Perm-Sec, who is bowing out of service on the attainment of the compulsory retirement age of 60 years.

The minister who said, the ministry’s E-Library shall henceforth be known and called “Dayo Toba Apata E-Library”, added that the retiring Perm-Sec deserves national honour in view of his meritorious services to the nation.

“Let me place on record, the commendable consistency of the Solicitor General and Perm-Sec in the implementation of policies and programmes of the ministry.

“I can say with pride that the ministry of Justice has been lifted to higher grounds and has become the envy of others,” the minister said and added that Apata has served in various capacities where he distinguished himself in the discharge of his duties.

He said, in his countless encounters and very intimate working interaction with Apata over the years, he found him to be resourceful, committed and patriotic in the discharge of his duties.

Malami said the Justice ministry will miss Apata’s repository of knowledge on vital aspects of the law.

In his speech, Apata thanked Malami for projecting him to the world and giving him free hand in the discharge of his duties as Solicitor General of the Federation and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice.

“I became the first SGF and Perm-Sec of the Ministry of Justice to be conferred with the title of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), with the cooperation and support of the AGF.

“Malami is my God sent and I remain eternally grateful to him for the confidence he reposed on me,” he said.

Opus85:

My brother if it is about our police force, I avoid them like plague because many of them have been soaked in the oil of corruption, bribery and wickedness due to the power they feel they have due to the uniform and being a member of the force. Many of them are sadist as you are looking at them. They can not be trusted at anytime because their allegiance is on highest bidder.

I have had encounters with them. My issue is on the discuss on if it is good or bad to use left hand to issue things to people. To me, I see nothing wrong in it so far the person is left handed. Definitely we all know majority of humans are right handed and I feel that is why it became strange accepting someone that is left handed in our culture which dated to years ago. Had it been that most humans are left handed, the right hand would have been looked at strangely too.

These are issues albinos, also face in this world. If we talk of culture, back then when twins were killed, was it not morally right for people not to accept the birth of twins until that part of culture phased out.

I have collect things from people that uses left hand to hand it over to me without even putting mind in whether it was right or wrong. We should not be taking some trivial things too serious.

There are some things that are not issues but we create them

Op would have avoided the saga if she had used a right. I disagree with that.

I wrote something earlier on, you may scroll to check.

Let's assume both parties are Yorubas.
Party A being the policewoman is angry she was given something with the left hand.

Party B is angry with Party A because she doesn't like them, most people don't just like them due to their compromise.

Let's assume that's the state of things.

If the CP or IG should pass at an angry state , the lady can loss her job for improper dressing, improper dressing includes not using your name tag.

Mynd44, I like your style.

Like I was advised then, I'll give you same piece too. Please be careful with all the weaponry agency, most of them don't have joy and ready to release bullet any time.

We still have well cultured trained officers but they're few.

One assaulted and threatened my life with his unprofessional conduct.

Immediately I envisaged what was about to happen that day, I told my wife to start recording and made sure it was recording.

After the whole gragra from him, being the victim. I didn't bother to call any force person within my range.

I called my lawyer who has spent close to two decades in his field, he was also assaulted. We left there, knowing what to do.

The next thing was we forwarded the video to my aunt, who happens to be the Commissioner of Police in a particular state.

Fast Forward

We later had to accept the Policeman plea because we found out he had spent thirty two years in service, and that misconduct was automatic dismissal without entitlemen.

What will I gain if he loses his job just three years to go.

Any case that goes to Abuja for any form of misconduct, the person can easily be fired because of end sars saga.

At the same time, officers on nairaland, please be careful you maybe rough handling the wrong person.

Learn to show love with your fellow country people. Other developed countries, it doesn't work that way

Crime / Our Heritage lives on by Kaylet: 11:27am On Jul 13, 2021
Are things better than it was in the forties and fifties of nineteenth centuries?

How far can this mirror go, that is what I'd loved to title this write-up. Simply, because I was told our father loosed guard because of a mere mirror.

Parents may decide to unlock their doors but close it because of goat, yet you will know where they kept their key, no one goes in behind to steal something.

History says farm produces can be left by road sides for days without anyone stealing them;

My grandma once secured are goods on way back from the farm with a snake. No one(Lala) dared kill the snake, let alone of taking the goods.

We had devices that shortened the length of a journey, instead of walking twenty miles, we may end up walking just five miles.

Our women had a burning desire to marry as virgin, not Chichi that came to house and said come do what you like to because I'll soon go, I just looked at her like a lost sheep and that was the last time I'd something to do with her.

When the story of Adogan came up, Sunday Igboho's right man.

I asked myself, why didn't he complete his charms like his friend, so he can disappear.

Many of us might be interested in that particular charm, so we can go the airport, board a plane to a destination of our choice.

So might want to go to Ask rock, to see our President and give him advice.

Our heritage our pride.

So you were with them when Ataga was feeding her with the said drugs?

I knew something like this was going to come up.

The family already said, they want the man to rest in peace that Nigerians should give them space but our cyber friends refused.

This is the hand work of the family members not Chidinma's making.

Since she already confessed to killing the man, I suspect they've handed her over to God.

My thoughts

I don't know where you got that analysis from.

On the Kogi part;
The Igalas have more population than the Ebira, there are other unique tribes in that state.

And if you start going by Nations, it won't work except by Kingdoms.

The point is these people also brake the law.

I believe in the school of thoughts that says what's good for gander is good for the goose.

If the enforcement agencies don't brake anything, correcting people will be easy.

Hmm.

My dad will give us ₦1 to school with four sticks of cabin biscuits, since we don't take cooked food to school.

I managed to save to buy this condensed peak milk, I have not seen the milk for awhile.

I sneaked the milk inside the house, I never knew my step mom saw me.

When my dad came, my step mom had reported me that I stole her money to buy milk.

My dad over beat me that my voice attracted our neighbour to temper justice with mercy

That was the third and very last time my lovely dad dealt with me.
