If you are one of those that belong to the school of thought that disagree with the “Love at first sight theory” then this week's "true love story" will prove you wrong! You see, the first time Ope saw Rachel, he knew he had been hit with cupid’s arrow. They had attended the same university – Redeemers’ University in the Redemption camp – but they never got to meet until their final year. "I had just gotten out of a 9 years relationship and had lost all hopes of getting a good girl when I met my Queen." Ope disclosed "There is this service – Holy ghost service – that holds on the first Friday of every month at the redemption camp and being a Redeemers’ university student, it was kinda compulsory to always attend the gathering. Throughout my 4 years of stay at university, I didn’t miss the service, unless I was out of camp - It was during one of the services that I met Rachel. I remember vividly well that the theme for that month’s was “With God All Things Are Possible”" He further disclosed. It was while trying to locate a friend of his at the service - calling to find out where he was seated - that was when he saw her…he was stunned! He stared on, he just couldn’t look away, his heart raced so fast and he felt this shiver run down his spine. "I knew right there that she was mine, my chosen one and my Akanke!" He said....awww! They dated for 2years but they broke up thrice in between. Did I mention that Ope was away for most of the 2years? Less than a few months after they began dating, Ope left Naija for abroad, thus making the relationship a distant one! "Coping with the long distance relationship wasn’t easy but God helped us. I played my role as a man by putting God first, being faithful, patient with her and most importantly trusting her. We broke up thrice but we kept coming back together - despite the fact that other girls were ready to fill the gap - we just couldn't do without each other, ours was love from above!" the groom further narrated. Love birds, Rachael Akinteye and Ope Ayangbile had their wedding engagement on12th September at la royal events and halls, Abule Egba, Lagos while they had their grand wedding on the 14th of September at First Baptist Church, Abule egba. She explained why she was fired "Honestly, I was not angry but a bit shocked. I had been too sick lately due to my pregnancy and was not at my best but I expected my company to be supportive of me. Yes, I wanted them to be supportive of me because I had worked hard over the years to bring them much glory. I know that I will see all sorts of articles and comments to discredit me but I simply ask this of you all. If you have ever met me and I was unpleasant to you, feel free to vent but If you don't know the real me and all you have heard are insinuations, hold your peace. I love people and always wish them well. My mentees and honest colleagues will testify to this.I love progress because I believe the sky is big enough for all the birds to fly. AIM Consultants. I am not mad at you. I believe when one door closes, another one opens. I have served you well over the years, brought you accolades. So please, let me go in peace and insiders in the Organisation who do not like guts should not use it as an opportunity to tear me down. I am a good person and YOU ALL KNOW THIS!" she said in a press release |
Vocal Slender (Some of you may remember him from the BBC Welcome to Lagos documentary) and Ariyike Akinbobola (TV personality) recently donated back-to-school items to kids in Ajegunle. Vocal Slender now has a project called "Ghetto Love Project" where he supports and motivates the less privileged. have teamed up to put smiles on the faces of children in Ajegunle, Lagos. On Saturday 7th September, they visited Ajegunle and donated school bags, sandals, snacks and school supplies to about 500 Ajegunle children who were about to resume school. Over the years, the children in the community have been reportedly going to school without footwear and school supplies. See photos below and peradventure you haven't heard about Vocal Slender (an upcoming Music artiste who was discovered by BBC from the slums of Lagos) then watch these video HERE. The first time I heard his story, I cried! After being discovered by BBC, he now derives pleasure in giving back to his society (Ajegunle where he grew up) and he is now a motivational speaker, oh, he still sings too.http://www.kemifilani.com/2013/09/bbcs-vocal-slender-ariyike-akinbobola.html

Whoop! It’s no joke or myth that twins will always share a bond, and the very bond which is shared by identical twins, Taiwo and Kehinde Babaagba, is strengthened as they graduate from the Redeemer’s University, Mowe, Ogun State, with First Class degrees! At the RUN convocation ceremony last Thursday, the 20-year-old twins did not only bag First Class each, one of them, Kehinde, emerged the overall best graduating student with a 4.96 Cumulative Grade Point Average in Computer Science while her sister, Taiwo, obtained a First Class in Economics, scoring 4.57 CGPA thus emerging the overall second best graduating student. Kenny won virtually all the awards - including the Visitor, Vice Chancellor, College, Dean and the University Family Forum prize. As she walked to the podium on each occasion to receive her awards, electrifying shouts of victory rent the Youth Centre, the venue of the convocation. There was giggling and words of astonishment. In fact, many guests at the event wondered how she could have learned so much to be that outstanding at her age....i'm still surprised myself, lol! Ajayi is a regular nairalander, he refreshes this forum like every 30 minutes, lol, so i decided to surprise him by putting up his wedding here. The groom Ajayi Idowu is a Lagosian (ocean side) while the bride, Sarah Usman, is from Adamawa state (desert region). The beautiful couple walked down the aisle at EYN Church, LCC, opp the Plateau state house of assembly, Jos on the 7th of September after having had their traditional/engagement wedding on the 5th of September, at the bride's family home. Their wedding was graced by the presence of the Chief whip of Plateau state and his wife, Deputy speaker of plateau state, commissioner of tourism of plateau state, family members, friends and well wishers. BTW Sarah calls her groom "Nifemi or Ife mi" a yoruba slang for "my love" while he calls her "Ina Sonki" Narrating their beautiful love story, the groom disclosed that they initially started as friends in 2003 ...ten years ago, but began dating in 2006, began the official dating in 2009, thus courting for 4years! "I met her while serving the nation (NYSC) in 2003, everyday I would see her walk past me while on my way to my PPA...she was living in the area and somehow we got talking. At the completion of the service year, I returned to Lagos and we got closer via phone calls and text messages, you know....we fell in love, it was so natural and real..." the excited groom narrated. The love birds decided to meet each other's parents in 2009 but something happened. "The first time I went to her home in 2009, her dad didn't want me. He was like, you are not welcome in this house young man, stay off my daughter!" yeah he stayed off their home but he just couldn't stay off their daughter, there was no way he could stay off his heartbeat! "I tried visiting again and when he saw me, he was furious, he was like, haven't I warned you to stay off my daughter....I guess he didn't want to give out his daughter to just anybody, oh and then the tribal difference too and all..." aww! "But I didn't give up, Sarah and I decided to take that challenge of ours to God, we fasted and prayed..." God sure answers prayers. "...time flew by and when he saw my consistency and perseverance, and how stronger our love had grown, he called me over last year and sat me down for a deep talk. On finding out that I had genuine intention for Sarah, he welcomed me in...and besides Sarah and I prayed well to God to turn his heart" Yayy! On the proposal: "I didn't have to propose, we knew right from the beginning that we were destined to be together, that we were gonna be married. I knew from day one that hey this is the woman i'm gonna marry, she's gonna be the mother of my kids, she's the woman I want to spend the rest of my life with" On kids: "We intend having two; a set of twins precisely...I want a boy and a girl, so that the girl will look exactly like her but Sarah wants two boys so that she won't have to share my love with the daughters when they come"..aww ain't that nice! Go Serena! World No.1 Serena Williams on Sunday September 8th claimed her fifth US Open crown and 17th career grand slam singles title after beating world No. 2 Victoria Azarenka with a 7-5 6-7(6) 6-1. This victory makes Serena the oldest US Open women's winner. Following her win, a photo of the professional tennis player has since been trending - it's like she was doing the "kukere/etighi dance", lol. I'm not exactly sure if she's actually doing the dance or trying to position herself for the impact of the game. Truth be told, his answer got me more confused, lol. Patrick Obahiagbon, the Chief of Staff to the Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole, in a recent interview addressed his controversial way of speaking and why he chooses to speak that way. Why do you always speak ‘big grammar’? I am not really consensus ad idem with those who opine that my idiolect is advertently obfuscative. No no no, it’s just that I am in my elements when the colloquy has to do with the pax nigeriana of our dreams and one necessarily needs to fulminate against the alcibiadian modus vivendi of our prebendal political class. How do you talk to your wife, children and even your friends? I relate with my family and friends very warmly and in an atmosphere of camaraderie, stripped of my confutational habiliment and gladiatorial homilies. I am a very peaceful, calm, level-headed and celestially attuned soul personality. Is this the way you proposed to your wife, speaking high tech grammar? Of course, the business of the day when I interfaced with my wife on matters of the heart had to be in plain Caeser’s language and you can decipher why that had to be so. The matter in view did not permit itself of sphinxian conundrum. It’s a long time ago, so I can’t remember the exact words I used. We had a relationship for ten years before we got married. We’re looking at close to 20 years ago. Do you know that many people don’t take you too seriously when you talk because they think you are not communicating Why will I be perturbed from ensconcing myself in the palatable arms of Morpheus because people have deprived themselves of the cultivation of the regime of the mental magnitude? I read all the farrago of baloneys and vacuous bunkum from pepper soup objurgators. The spirit of animadversion remains their fundamental human right. It also remains an indubitable fact that I get millions and millions of requests daily from people all over the world requesting for my verbal mentorship which positive cosmopolitan reactions have assisted my equipoise and righteous sense of pachydermatous garb. I cannot put my nose to the grindstone daily and expect to be understood by those luxuriating in a modus vivendi, verging on pepper souping, goat heading, suyaing, big stouting and isiewulising. Has a philosophical wag not once pontificated that things of the spirit are spiritually discerned and that it takes the deep to call the deep? We will speak more on this matter of critiques and chichi dodo another day. How does your family understand your English? My family and friends understand me perfectly just the same way you understand me now though, I must admit that it depends on the issues on the piazza. How did you start speaking in this manner? It all happened when my father brought me a teaser which stated that good orators had ruled the world and you must have to be a feisty orator if you must rule the world. As an impressionable young man, I alacritously threw myself into the whirligig of improving my usage of words by amassing new words on a daily basis. Do you pray the same way you speak? God understands all languages, my brother and I pray to God using any word that pops up. May I posit that the key points in prayers are your sincerity, purity of heart, walking within the compass and to what extent are you ready and worthy of receiving the benediction of the cosmic and the cosmic masters because as we say in mysticism- “when the students are ready, the masters would appear.” Take my words my brother that more than seventy per cent of humanity don’t know how to pray but that is a matter for another day. By the way, are there other names you call God? God is variously known as Jehovah, Yaweh, The Great Grand Architect of the Universe, The Cosmic Host and several other names known alone to heirophants but which names are so ineffable for me to mention here. Why do you pull your trousers up beyond the waist? Hahahaha….That trousers style is called Yohji Yamamoto. It was my own audacious statement to remonstrate against the pervasive tendency of Nigerians especially our youths that took to the practice of putting on trousers exposing their lower anatomical contours and I will do it over and over again. When you speak to Caucasians of English origin, how do they react to you? My friends that are whites simply marvel and sometimes get maniacally bewildered when we engage, most times to my consternation. Do you look forward to developing your own dictionary? My own dictionary? I have never really given that a thought, but there is a young man in one of our universities who travelled all the way to meet me in Benin. His doctoral thesis is on “Obahiagbonism as a style of language.” How many dictionaries do you read a day and how often do you read dictionaries? I have read and still do read a vaudeville of dictionaries from Websters to Funk and Wagnalls, from Cambridge to Oxford dictionaries, from Black’s Law Dictionary to Encarta and from Encyclopedia Britannica to Foreignisms, etcetera. I developed my corpus of vocabulary by reading omnivorously. I have also spent nothing less than an hour daily on my dictionary for over twenty years. So, whereas the dictionary for most people is a mere occasional reference point, it is for, me a vade-mecum. It may also interest you to know that there is much to learn from our daily newspapers. You seem to mix English with other languages… On mixing of languages; that comes with reading omnivorously. You cannot but pick these words here and there if you have an audacious reading culture. Is any of your children like you? My children are still growing but I petition the celestial choir and cosmic hosts to give them the gift of kissing the hybla bee.http://www.kemifilani.com/2013/09/patrick-obahiagbon-finally-tells-why-he.html |

Anyways, while surfing the web to find what gists i have missed so far, I stumbled on a certain tweet by Bishop TD Jakes where he explained how Tyler Perry laid his hands on him during church service on the 1st of September - it caught my attention and I just had to share. TD Jakes So here goes the story: On Sunday, Tyler Perry was in Dallas, TX attending Bishop Jakes’ Mega-fest and during the service, the holy spirit ministered to Tyler Perry. Adhering to the instruction of the holy spirit, Tyler Perry walked to the altar, took the mic and delivered the message to the congregation. He announced that he was moved to donate $1 million dollars to Jakes’ youth center. “God I don’t know what you’re doing but I heard your voice.” Of course, the crowd erupted in shouts and applause and Perry started speaking in tongues before he continued sharing. “When you hear the voice of God you move. Don’t worry about what nobody says to you. Don’t worry about what it looks like. Don’t worry about your enemy. Don’t worry about your hater. He will bless you. He will lift you…Sometimes you spend too much time worrying about your haters. You spend too much time worrying about people talking about you. But what you need to understand is that the Bible says in order for you to be blessed, your haters have to be present. The book of Psalms says he prepareth a table for me in the presence of my enemies. So in order for me to eat, they have to be present.” After that Perry began praying for Jakes. As he was asking God to keep his anointing on Jakes, Perry was walking toward him until he eventually placed his hands on the top of his head. The action immediately sparked up some controversy as many claimed that it was wrong for Tyler Perry to lay his hands on a man of God; some even claimed that the reason why Bishop TD Jakes allowed Perry to lay his hands on his head is because of the "$1,000, 000" and there are those saying Perry had no right to be up there because he’s a closeted homosexual who makes his money dressing as a woman - madea. The question now is, is it actually wrong for Tyler Perry to have done that after all he was led by the holy spirit to carry out the action?! http://www.kemifilani.com/2013/09/right-or-wrong-tyler-perry-lays.html

New reports surfacing online claim that the once lively Revival Victory Chapel International is now a shadow of itself following the sudden demise of its’ spiritual leader and founder Pastor Elijah Iretiola Ajanaku. The reports further claim that family members of the late Prophet are presently at loggerheads over who gets the lion share of the properties he (prophet Ajanku) left behind. Family members of Late Pastor Ajanaku have been parading his home, they are mostly interested in his fleet of cars and they have been discussing on how to move the cars and who deserves the best. According to a source, any moment from now, his family members will be back to move the exotic cars out" She further reports that no weekly activities have been taking place in the church since their founder died. His widow is said to become the next General Overseer and has also moved some valuables to undisclosed locations after her late husband’s family members have showed interest in their son/brother’s properties. http://www.kemifilani.com/2013/09/family-members-of-late-prophet-ajanaku.html |
As a follow-up to my post about the rumor going around in some quarters that La Casera contains bleach chemical last Thursday, I was invited to the company's office in Lagos by its Management. While there, I discovered that La Casera is INDEED produced under the highest hygienic standards and no bleach is included in the production process. “Our integrity stands,” assured the company’s quality assurance manager, Adeku Emmanuel, while taking me on an official tour of the La Casera production facilities yesterday. He said the company was committed to customer satisfaction, and would do nothing to jeopardise the trust it had built with the public over the years. “We give customers the best quality and that’s why we have continued to grow strong all this years,” he strongly highlighted. Also speaking during the tour, the General Manager of the company, Mr. Gary Carlton, further substantiated Adeku’s assertion, as he said even the Director-General of the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON), Dr. Joseph Odumodu, who visited La Casera a couple of weeks ago, was highly impressed with what he saw. To make a long story short, you have heard from the makers of La Casera that the bleach saga is just a false rumor ignited by God knows who. Stay tuned to my blog to clarify issues like this and I guarantee keeping you informed! http://www.kemifilani.com/2013/08/la-casera-speaks-there-is-no-bleach-in.html

Beverly Osu stepped out in a simple wine gown as she arrived Channels TV for her interview on 'Rubbin Minds' with Ebuka today. I think the dress is lovely. She was styled by SWANKY SIGNATURE STYLING! A video of their almost 20 minutes discussion will be uploaded soon but in the meantime, here are some of the major things she said... On her sexual escapade with Angelo: "I repeat that I never had sex with Angelo. He was wearing his boxer shorts, I was naked but we didn't do anything in the bathtub. Yes, I fell in love with Angelo, I didn't plan it. I blame myself for going that far with Angelo in the bath tub...It is about making money for both of us now" On her relationship with 2shotz, she said "I used to date 2Shotz and I am not surprised he denied the abuse stories" and then she said "I have been single for a year and 6months" http://www.kemifilani.com/2013/09/beverly-osus-outfit-to-rubbin-minds.html
