Agriculture › Is There Really Money In Poultry Business? by kayo80(op): 3:10pm On Jul 15, 2017 |
I love poutry business, and have been into it for like 2 years now, but i am wondering if there is really money in poultry.
When you raise birds from chicks to maturity, and you sell to market women or cold room and make like 100 naira or 200 naira on each chicken. If you have 100 birds, thats just about 20k profit.
Or if you are doing the egg business and make 100 on a crate...it just doesn't add up to something substantial.
I might be wrong, maybe someone needs to educate me on where the money is in poultry. I would love comments. Please come with hard facts, not heresay.
By the way, i am based in ibadan. |

Agriculture › Which Chicken Feed Brand Is Really The Best For Optimum Growth? by kayo80(op): 10:10am On Jul 14, 2017 |
I have always believed that Top Feeds was the best for optimum growth in chickens. But yesterday, the lady i buy feed from told me Livestock feed is slightly better. I wouldn't have taken her serious, but she sells Hybrid, Top Feeds, and Livestock. So it is not like she would want me to buy another brand cos she doesn't have top feeds.
So, guys, which is the best for rapid growth in birds...Hybrid, Vital Feed, Top Feeds, Livestock, Amo, Animal Care, etc. |

Obaluf0n: Loool. Sirs, it depends on what part of Lagos you leave from & when you start counting. I should have clearly stated I reside around Mowe-Ibafo (i referred to it as Lagos to stay in line with the Op) and yes my maximum to Ibadan is 40 mins & I start counting from Sagamu-Abk bridge. By Ibadan I do not mean Iwo Road but rather, the bridge where Lead CU is at. I reduce speed from that point onwards till I get to airport road where I start counting again - if I'm going beyond Ibadan that is.

Instead of just saying 'lagos to ibadan, 35 minutes.' Hundreds of thousands of people read nairaland front page topics daily.. we owe it to these people to give accurate information. |

Obaluf0n: Apart from the Oyo-Ogbomoso route, there are other better routes.
1. Osogbo-Erin-Offa-Ajase-Ilorin route -- a bit farther than usual with a mixture of good and not so good roads but very sparse number of trucks.
2. Osogbo-Ilobu-Iresa-Ogbomoso-Ilorin -- shorter route, very good road by about 90% due to low usage because most people do not know of this route and practically, no trucks.
I use either routes when going to Ilorin from Lagos. I just make sure I do my usual Lag-Ibadan 35 mins drive and Ibadan to Osogbo 1 hr 15 mina drive before I decide what route to go.
I drove through Ogbomoso-Oyo once and I almost had a head ob collision with a truck while overtaking. Ever since I nor ever touch that road again no matter what. Is it Bugatti you are driving? How can you say you make it to ibadan from lagos in 35 minutes. That is impossible. |

Darkcrisp: All the best. I just read 'Me, you and them'. The book (okay, books) is great. Your writing style is really cool. You're the writer everyone would love.
I hope you reach your goal of 100 books. One year is almost gone, so you must work super hard to achieve this.
Look at me, I have about 50 story ideas but I've only completed three. Anyway, mine is pure laziness.
Once again, I wish you all the best.
Are your books available as e-books? I'd love to download them. Thanks for the motivation. I also wish you all the best in your writing career. My books are up for sale in eBook format on Apple and Amazon. 1 Like |
