Somehow i seem to have an idea of what owanneze is complaining about having dealt with one of the Cotonou car dealers. From adelambi post, owenaze relied on the him to get him a very clean car as most of them do promise online or during personal discussion off the forum. But most cases what you get there is far from clean. Some picture are far from what you see on ground.

My Personal Experience.

Once travelled with one of nairaland dealer to Cotonou in search of a Toyota Corolla 2003(Europen Model) or Toyota Camry 97 -99 (Pencil Light), On getting to Cotonou i was shocked at the kind of cars (some of them need to be worked on, some had very high mileage ,some had visible rust on their body) that was being recommended to me to purchase. I told him that was not the first car nor second so i have an idea of what a clean car looks like. Sold my first car here on nairaland after 2 yrs of use and it was far neater than any of the cars i was being advice to buy. Apparently all he was after was for me to buy any car for him to get paid his commission. Imagine an agent convincing me to get a car of 170millage when i told him i dont like it , wanted something below 130 mileage. He was of the opinion that if it gets out of the port and the minor issues fixed i might notbelieve it is same car again. But i rather not own a car than to buy anything short of my expectation. To cut my story short i left Cotonou without buying any car then began my problem.

The dealer wanted his full payment of 50k cos according to him he got me a lot of car but i was deliberately refuse to buy. I insisted that i will give him 20k for his troubles and transport this did not go down well with him. He finally accepted and i left.

Whenever you have to buy in Cotonou make sure u go there personally as dealers choice likely not to meet ur expectation. Reach payment agreement for the transaction in case you buy or not.

Rapid Respond Squad in Lagos has been a breath of fresh air, why disband them?

Which RRS areu talking about? those guys do nothing than taking their share from Agberos and park chairmen. Dont be deceive by those amoured cars parked at some strategic location some of them not moved from same spot in 6 month. A driver once told me that amoured car and RRS parked at some specific parks are being paid for daily by the Chairman of such park. It is deliberately stationed there to provide protection for current chairman of such park to discourage rivals from taking over. I believe the driver cos he was one of them.

Whatever you are buying from America or Canada just make sure you carry a VIN check on it. Almost fell victim for a 98 camry with odometer reading of less than 100,000. Vin check on the car done for me by Kunke_A showed actual mileage was over 300,000.The importer was actually duped by a very good friend based in canada.

Point of correction BATTLE TO RESTORE OSHODI BRIDGE EXCHANGE. Development around oshodi is noticeable from Cappa Bustop to the Bolade Bustop.  A minute drive off the main road no noticeable govt presence. Julius berger Nigeria Ltd been working on this less than 3km road for over 2 years the work there  been extremely slow.

Seriously , yet to see the spetacular thing being done by fashola Administration. In area such as Ikotun the only way people feel govt presence is the mandatory payment being paid for waste disposal by most house ownres ,yet they still  pay cart pusher to dispose their waste. Roads leading to areas where majority of lagosians stay are narrow and filled with potholes (the major cause of traffic in lagos).

Lagos state empowered a lot of criminals to extort lagosian of their hard earn money, charges for road traffic offence is about the highest in the world (might be wrong). How do you explain 250000 for the one way offence when some roads become one way at certain time during the day. God help you if you come visiting and you dont know your way around. Bus driver park on roads to pick passengers under the supervision of road traffic police officers and empowered touts thereby causing traffic as early as 5.30am in some areas.

Need answers to the ffg questions?
1. Is there any area either on Island or mainland that has good road network and drainage?
2. Where in Lagos does tap runs?


He remains one of the best gov in naija as of today ,so he  has my vote come 2011. Believe he can do far better .

I am of the opinion that no gov should be praised for minor project such road construction and market renovation. LETS RAISE THE BAR  This is just my personal view

I am not an auto tech guru , but from my personal experience the problem might be from one of your engine seat. Let your mechanic check the engine seat.

I dont blame lagerback at all. Saw this picture in one of the dailies and it shows the behaviour of the present eagles to national assignment. In the picture is the physical fitness trainer of super eagles in one of the training session last SA 2010 world cup. The man dey front dey deceive himself, yakubu dey waka for back. None of the player did what was expected of them in the picture
