@KayOn1 if you want to do the guaranteed back real estate investment , you may wish to compare what other companies are also offering and choose, based on company's pedigree and returns offered. I'm a real estate lawyer and there are at least 3 reputable companies in lagos offering similar investments...
The issue is I'll need a 3rd party to coordinate and I only have that currently in PH.

5-10% depending on location and type of structure.

Although capital gains are there too.
For instance, I bought 10 tonnes of steel @ 380k averagely about 2 years ago, when I checked in February, it was already 1.2m pee ton.

Looks like someone is out to buy close to 1% of ACCESS.
If 5 - 10% with stress, why go thru the stress when any financially literate person can get double or triple of it without leaving his house.

** I am talking about build to let.

The real estate company I am affiliated with currently gives 30% PA, strictly for investment. That is, you are not buying the land and can't develop it or use it in anyway. The land documents you are getting are like securities/collateral. Your funds are used for estate/housing units' development. I don't know about any issues so far.

If you have huge capital, investing in bonds makes sense.
Fir instance, I intend to use my cash out by buy government securities, (especially treasury bills) and use the upfront interest received to invest in real estates. But this can only make sense with huge sums of money. Otherwise, equities might be a better way to build wealth through capital appreciation of the stocks.
What is the ROI in Real Estate? Can it do 20% PA without issues?

p.s. you've never heard of panic selling when people sell at a loss due to fear of price crash?
Sorry no vex. I was just suggesting possible options you have.
However, You didn't answer my question. If you were to panic sell, at what percentage loss, will that thought kick in?

But it's been having lower lows for a while so even if it rallies up by 15% (Which is a lower high as it's also been doing), it's likely to retrace below last low except they come up with some good news. I bought at around 40k. Hope I'm wrong
Just like you are not ready to sell lower than your purchase price, most people are like that too. Going back the last 12 months, 90% or more that bought the stock bought above 31k. If you are in a hurry to sell, you can sell on the floor or I will do a cross deal at 31k.

** If I may ask - How long have you been holding the stock & what's the maximum percentage loss you are willing to accept to be cut loose from the stock? That way I know if it's something I can stomach and we can move forward with the deal assuming you are ready to deal.

** DD advised. I will say no more.
My 2 cents.

How is the Luck doing now. Bought UBA today at N22. and will average down from there, if it doesn't go down, i am fine.
And what makes you think it won't dip further considering the all around bad news. The Government has to take security serious. You'll see the effect of Okpella & Okomu attack in the coming weeks when investors start doing their Scenario analysis and portfolio rebalancing after Qtr2. If it can happen to Okomu, ... what stops it from happening to Presco & ...

The synopsis is not looking good, I am afraid.

I share similar sentiment but it's not this easy... angry

I once referenced the Niger Delta militants in this discourse. Would you honestly say that Shell, ENI, AGIP, TEXACO etc did not have enough money to get these things (security and CCTV) when the expatriates were being kidnapped every other day?
Honestly, I hope the mgt of OKOMU can quickly tackle this before everything goes south.

NB
OKOMU oil plantations, rubber plantations, turbines, mills, etc are scattered on over 15,000 hectares of vegetation (maybe more).
How many battalions of NA will be able to successfully cover such expanse of landhuh

It's a really sad situation to be in... angry
Not even the OICs' could secure a much lesser acreage. The company cannot do it. It is the Government's job.

All these vices could have happened anywhere call-out those who are responsible without ridiculing country. That you made it out is testament that a lot things succeeds here.

Besides; you should know sentiment = hope & lack of it which is key market driver.
If you know those that are responsible, please tell me o. We have a long way to go.

All we are asking from the Government of the day is sort out the security issues and power and leave the rest for Diaspora Nigerians. 75% or more are ready to head home.

** I don't think that is asking for too much.

As long as you are not 6-ft under the ground, Nigeria is yet to happen to you; should be grateful to Nigeria. Hope is for the living, hopelessness is for the dead - besides, what is the assurance that whatever happened to you here cannot happen anywhere else?

I find it illogical that people are hoping to make money from the Nigeria bourse yet are hopeless about Nigeria. Does this make sense?
Transcorp has dropped to N12. Let's look for a way to push Wema to N4.60 they sold the RI or lower and make money. The country still remains one of the easiest & fastest place to make money.

If I were the management of OkumuOil, I would never give in to extortion. I would beef up security, install motion sensors and cameras on the premises' perimeters. I would employ the military or paramilitary to guard the establishment. I would provide living quarters for the workers and safe transportation in and out of the company.

The community should go and establish their own farm. grin grin grin cheesy

All this does not mean the host and neighboring communities will not receive some "corporate social responsibility", but it should be a voluntary decision and not forced extortion. Kilode!! tongue
Certainty is only for God. Never say 'never'. Companies still pay hackers for data breach how much more when lives are involved.

Here lies my grouse with the initial post; I want to believe you are not Nigerian because if you are then you shouldn't be existing as she should have happened to your existence by now.

Read this very well! There is no perfect country in the world as a matter of fact Nigeria is not any where close to the worse place on earth and Yes a lot of things succeeds here!
I am full blooded Nigerian but Nigerian did happen to me. I will just leave it at that.
I still invest in Nigeria because that's my root and will always be.
