The most likely suspect is lice/worms. You won’t see any sign of disease in the chickens. They will be looking very healthy and eating well but sharp reduction in production. Go to any large vetinary shop and ask for a strong lice(ectoparasite)/worm drug. You should see a sharp increase in two days

That's what my mind is telling me. But i was told worm can't cause sharp reduction in layers production. I don't know how true is that

if you changed your feed source of water source, that could be the cause issues. alsoo if you recently vaccinated.

in the absence of that ask your feed miller whether he changed any of the ingredients or the sources of the ingredients.

Is their feed and water consumption still the same.

In the absence of any of the changes mentioned get a vet

I didnt change the feed source. I dont think the feed is the problem. I'm using chikum feed.
Feed and water consumption is the same

Hello experienced poultry farmers. I am currently experiencing a rapid reduction in my layers egg production.
It all started five days ago. They usually produce up to 6 crates per day. But 5 days ago it dropped to 5 crates and 7 pieces of eggs. The following day they produce 4 crates and 27. The following day again they produce 4 and half crates. Also the following day they produce exactly four crates. But as at today they have not even produce two crates. The thing is just getting worse day in day out. I will need your kind suggestion concerning this. They are currently on medication. I started giving them doxygen yesterday.
Education / Varsity Unions Vow To Continue 75-day Strike, Sue Police, DSS by kaysco: 8:01pm On Feb 18, 2018
The Joint Action Committee, the umbrella body for the striking non-teaching workers in Nigerian universities, said on Saturday that it had written fresh letters to the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Labour, notifying the Federal Government of its resolve not to suspend its 75-day strike unless its agitations were met.

The JAC President, Samson Ugwuoke, who confirmed this in an exclusive interview with SUNDAY PUNCH on Saturday, noted that the letters were dispatched to the ministries on Friday.

He explained that since February 2 when the unions met with the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, the government had yet to invite the unions for any negotiation.

It was learnt that apart from the February 2 meeting, which ended in a deadlock, the union leaders could also not meet with the Ministry of Labour on February 7 as the negotiation was postponed due to undisclosed reasons by the ministry officials.

The JAC comprises the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions, the National Association of Academic Technologists and the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities.

It told SUNDAY PUNCH on Saturday that it was heading for the court on Monday (tomorrow) to sue the police and the Department of State Services for alleged harassment of its union leaders in Enugu and Lagos states.

The non-academic staff, under the JAC, began an indefinite strike on December 4, 2017, due to the alleged non-implementation of the agreements they entered into with the Federal Government in 2009 and 2017.

It was learnt that the contentious issues are the earned allowances of N23bn released by the Federal Government to the universities’ workers around November 2017 in which the three non-teaching unions got “only 11 per cent.”

The JAC said it was not satisfied with such sharing formula, demanding that the Federal Government release more funds to the unions to cover the allowances.

Another issue is the disagreement on the funding of the over 200 staff schools in universities.

JAC President, Ugwuoke, told one of our correspondents on Saturday that it obtained a judgment from the National Industrial Court, stating that the staff schools must be funded by the government and their staff included on the universities’ payrolls.

He added that another issue was the shortfall in salaries, noting that the unions had resolved not to suspend the strike after two months since “no tangible commitments” had been made by the ministries of education and labour.

Ugokwe stated, “The Ministry of Education invited us on February 2 and we had a meeting with the minister. He explained to us that the government was still making efforts to get the money for the earned allowances. The minister said he accepted that the sharing of the N23bn was wrongly done and he apologised for our being short-changed.

“On the issue of the staff schools in which the National Income and Wages Commission brought out an obnoxious policy, we told them that their policy was not in line with the judgment we got from the National Industrial Court.

“Over 2,000 people are out of job. The court judgment, obtained on December 5, 2016, must be obeyed first before you can then call parties together and try to reach a compromise. But the government is not willing to implement that court judgment which was obtained over one year ago.

“The Ministry of Labour, in its letter to us in the first week of February, said it just heard on the pages of newspapers that we were on strike, after two months that we had written to the ministry in December 2017 that we were going on strike. That is insincerity and irresponsibility on the part of the government.”

He added, “The issue is that the strike goes on as the government has not done anything tangible. We cannot suspend this strike unless the government, represented by the ministries of labour and education, shows commitment.
Education / Non-teaching University Staff Vow To Persist With Two Months Strike by kaysco: 11:49am On Feb 12, 2018
Over two months after they embarked on a strike, non-teaching staff of Nigerian federal universities have vowed not to return to work until the federal government addresses their grievances.
The chairman of the the Joint Action Committee, JAC, of the workers’ unions, Samson Ugwoke, stated this position in a phone interview with PREMIUM TIMES on Wednesday.
The affected unions are the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, SSANU, Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions, NASU, and National Association of Academic Technologists, NAAT.
Members of the unions commenced an indefinite strike on December 4 last year, accusing the government of violating an agreement it had with them on the formula for sharing N23 billion it released to the universities as earned allowances. The unions are angry that academic staff of the universities took the lion share of the allowances.
Mr. Ugwoke said the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, complained that government has no funds to settle the unions.
“Since 19th of December, 2017 the Minister of Education said they are still looking for money and also waiting for response from the presidency, although the minister acknowledged there was a mistake in the sharing of the N23 billion released by the government for earned allowances to teaching and the non-teaching staff,” he said.
According to the chairman, the unions rejected an appeal by the minister to suspend their strike while government sourced for funds.
“We were asked to suspend our strike while they look forward to getting the money but we told him we had to consult our principals, which is the NEC of the various unions and whatever they tell us, we will get back to the federal government. But as I speak to you, the strike continues,” he said.
“We had a session with the National Assembly House Committee on Education last week where we presented our case to them: why we are on strike and the problems in Nigerian universities. But the Minister of Education did not attend and he was duly notified and acknowledged the invitation, but the Federal Ministry of Education did not give reasons for their absence and the committee said they will write to them of non-compliance,” he said.

He said the Ministry of Labour had invited the unions for a meeting on February 7 to discuss how to resolve the issues in order for the unions to suspend their strike.
“The Director of Labour Relations told us that the meeting was cancelled because the Education Ministry said we had a meeting with them last week and there is no need for meeting this week. The whole indication is that the government has nothing to offer us for now, so the strike is on and it continues,” Mr. Ugwoke said.
When contacted on Wednesday, the Federal Ministry of Labour spokesperson, Samuel Olowokere, said the meeting was cancelled because the unions had suspended the strike.
“The unions were supposed to have a meeting with us today by 3 p.m. which was the initial arrangement, but they have suspended their strike on their own since yesterday. Kindly call them and confirm from them. So they are no longer having a meeting with us again because the meeting has been overtaken by suspension of their strike,” he said.
But Abdussobur Salaam, SSANU public relations officer, said the nationwide strike was continuing.
“I don’t know what they are talking about. As I am speaking to you right now, we just finished a meeting in Ado -Ekiti reiterating the position of the strike. There is no truth in saying the strike has been suspended, it is still on and we are mobilising our members,” he said.
In reaction , the spokesperson of the Federal Ministry of Education, Chinyere Ihuoma, said the strike was receiving priority attention of government.

This strike is really damaging to me especially. angry
This strike has affected my collection of transcript and will made me lose a chance in Sweden for a full tuition Swedish scholarship for studies.
Its really frustrating and I have even paid the application fee of 900 Swedish krone which is non refundable and dateline is 1st February 2018 for the opportunity.

Did you have a student copy of your transcript? I got in contact with the admission office and I was told to upload the student copy of my transcript which I have done, but the transcript still need to be verified b4 March.
I am about to pay my application fee but my prayer is that this strike should not be extended to March because if it is extended to March my result will not be verified by my institution which means that I may not offer me admission because of the unverified transcript.

Adewale ‘Wally’ Adeyemo

Former U S President Barack Obama appointed a Nigerian, Adewale ‘Wally’ Adeyemo as his deputy national security adviser for international economic affairs. Adeyemo had served in top roles at the Treasury Department and succeeded Caroline Atkinson as Obama’s deputy NSA. Adeyemo is flying the Nigerian flag high in the international community, hence the reason to celebrate him and his achievement.

Five important facts about him…

– He helped establish the US Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

– Adeyemo is the son of Nigerian parents, who left Nigeria to seek greener pasture in the US. According to him, his parents “immigrated to this country in search of the American dream and the opportunity to give my brother, sister, and me a better life.”

– The 34-year-old Nigerian holds a bachelor’s of arts from the University of California, Berkeley, and also a Juris Doctor (JD) for further studies in specialised law from the Yale Law School.

Two US-based Nigerians, Bamidele Adetayo and Suleiman Nadabo, have developed a Web App, “Entertale’’ to give TV audience in Africa and the world quality experiences.

Adetayo on Tuesday in Abuja said “Entertale’’ was an online live TV and movie streaming services.

“It allows users to watch multiple live TV stations for free.
“The story of Entertale begins due to lack for African valued TV contents to enable people connect with what are happenings and watch movies and TV shows with friends they are already connected with.
“The App which is set for launch later in the month does not require monthly subscription, and the live channels would comprise international and African TV stations,’’ Adetayo said.

Also speaking, the co-founder, Nadabo stressed that the web service which solely focused on TV, allow users to also rent movies that they were only interested in watching.

He said that users would also get notifications on what their friends were watching, follow and chat with them. According to Nadabo, in the App is a feature called “Co-Play’’ which give users the options to watch movies they rented with friends irrespective of location.

“Using the App is like watching television in an alternate reality where you do not recognise any of the shows while evolving a new space that has been lacking in the African entertainment industry.
“Cord cutting’ might be getting another kin but this time it is driven with a social experience – a free service that mimics the cable box with Internet channels instead of traditional ones and cinematic experience.
“The app is still in its web versions where much of the content comes from YouTube; in its movie model cases, Entertale also makes direct content deals with big independent studios to access their latest library,” Nadabo said.

Oladipupo Adebutu

In Nigeria’s business circuit today, few people are aware that the Dublin, Republic of Ireland-trained Analytical Chemist and scion of the Kessington Adebutu dynasty, Oladipupo Adebutu, is the Chief Executive Officer of JB Farms, one of the largest pig farms in the entire country, with about 10,000 heads of pigs. Not only that, Oladipupo Adebutu, for about twenty years, had his eyes on processing most of his farm produce, thereby saving Nigeria a huge sum of foreign exchange on imported processed meat products like hams and sausages. His processing machine, which he plans to feed with over 10,000 pigs for continuous supplies, is due in Nigeria anytime in 2016. Also attached to this investment is the Kessington Agro-Allied Limited, which he also founded, and is into the production of livestock feeds and other services.
As an Executive Director of Premier Lotto, one of the biggest corporate investments in Nigeria, Ladi Adebutu equally runs over 3,000 personal terminals of the company’s services, sits on top of a multi-billion naira tourism and real estate investment, Lado Tourism and Real Estate, which has been described as mouthwatering in terms of risks and potential return on investment. His 300-room hotel and golf resort, under construction, sits on a large expanse of land covering about 425 acres of land, stretching across two towns and two local government areas in Ogun State.
‎Today, this Ijebu-born politician and currently a member of the Federal House of Representatives (representing the Remo Federal Constituency) sits as one of the oldest and highest ranking lawmakers, having first won his seat in 1992 at the age of 30, under the then Social Democratic Party, a status which earned him the enviable Chairmanship of the House Committee on Rural Development. This is no mean feat, as Lado (as he is popularly called by his admirers and political associates) was elected on the platform of an opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party.
Oladipupo Adebutu was recently conferred with the chieftaincy title of Otunba Nawo Ola of Odogbolu town in the Ijebu area of Ogun State and still finds ample time to attend to his various businesses spread across different parts of Nigeria.o
