Jobs/Vacancies / Re: 1st Bank Pay Please by kayusman(m): 7:01pm On Jul 14, 2007
Information from a reliable source indicates that the elephant has once again cleared the doubts of critics. First bank may not be the highest paid bank in Nigeria however the pay is not as dismal as is being potrayed on this thread. The truth is that others banks are fond of blowing thier trumpets in the market place especially when it comes to take home pay but First bank still remains the bank to beat in terms of staff welfare. I will implore fellow nairalanders to carry out a thourough research on staff welfare in banks vis a vis take home pay, carloan, housing, medical, staff development et al. All that glitters is not gold my brothers look before you leap.First bank na baba

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: First Bank Test Result Out! by kayusman(m): 4:58pm On Apr 05, 2007
I just recieved a text inviting me for the interview. I however have reservations about the attitude of teetopsy you seem to be insensitive about the plight of those who av not gotten an invitation for interview. The aim of this forum is to encourage and not discourage. Folks dont give up if you didnt make it, you only fail when you resign and refuse to try again. This is my fifth bank test and the first one that will be inviting me for an interview.
All the best.

Properties / Re: Cost Of A Self Contained In Abuja! by kayusman(m): 12:45pm On Mar 22, 2007
It depends on the area we are talking about. If its in Mararaba or Nyanya you should have around 60k but if its asokoro or maitama my broda be ready to cough out at least 150-200k. Wuse Zones should go 4 150k or less.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: First Bank Test Negative Marking? by kayusman(m): 6:21pm On Mar 16, 2007
Thanks to everyone that posted a reply to my enquiry about the First bank test.
For the benefit of those who are not conversant with what negetive marking is all about i will endeavour to paint a scenario in order to shed more light on the subject matter.

Negative marking involves the deduction of marks for marks failed from marks scored.
For example assuming Dele writes a 50 question test that involves negative marking and he attempted all questions. At the end of the test he got 30 questions right and 20 questions wrong, for the purpose of this scenario we'll assume that for 2 questions failed 1 mark will be deducted.

Total question: 50
Passed: 30
Failed: 20
Final score = 30-10=20
Remember that 20 wrong questions= 10 marks deduction.

There are situations where the final score of some candidates are negative marks because they scored very low scores after the negative marking nrule is applied thay end up with negative marks.

I hope the explanation is clear?

Jobs/Vacancies / First Bank Test Negative Marking? by kayusman(m): 4:32pm On Mar 16, 2007
A friend of mine told me that the first bank test written on thur will be marked with negative marking. I need someone who is well informed to allay my fears because i ensured that every single answer was shaded.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: 2 Masters Degrees by kayusman(m): 1:52pm On Mar 03, 2007
Hello Onosen, Its good to know that you are planning to relocate back to Nigeria when most of your brethren are thinking of making it to "oyinbo land". By the way i guess u are either in Ethiopia or Sudan for you to contemplate relocation but if on the contrary you happen to be based in USA or UK then i must commend your guts. Nevertheless to answer your first question as to what job you can get with those two masters degree of yours i will suggest you try a lecturing job or better still a social work based job.The truth is that employees here in Nigeria normally accord holders of foriegn degrees a greater respect than thier Nigerian colleagues. As regards the UN job you will do well in UNICEF. However they usually ask for experience. On the other hand you can apply to the world bank junior program. Best of Luck
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: My Apologies On Uba Test Notice Of 17th In Abuja by kayusman(m): 6:25pm On Feb 21, 2007
swordfish
Apologies accepted but it is pertinent to state that the attitude of people spreading unverified rumours about job tests without verifying same is highly frowned at. Can you imagine someone spending his whole stipend as an applicant on a non existent test. what about the mental, phsycological and emotional trauma such an individual would have gone through. What i've come to discover is that people wake up from thier sleep after dreaming about a job test for thier dream organisation and then go ahead to spread the good news embarassed.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Vacancies In A Leading Bank For Corpers(march 2007) by kayusman(m): 10:56am On Feb 19, 2007
VACANCIES - YOUTH CORPERS(MARCH 2007)

One of the leading banks in Nigeria seeks youth corpers who have been officially posted to Lagos
for the March 2007 batch to serve with them.
The beauty of this scheme is that the bank will retain good corpers, pay them well and give them sound 3 months training
after the service and employ them directly.

If you are interested and wish to serve with the bank
please kindly forward your CV, with the title YOUTH CORPS SCHEME
to gdajobs2007@yahoo.com

Mr Boladonas why do you find it difficult posting the name of the bank. If indeed there are no ulterior motives intended i guess you should'nt hesistate to post it , except of course if the information is classified in which case you shouild'nt av pomsted it in a public forum like nairaland in the first place period.
