I will have to forget about it for now as I donā€™t have up to 5 years working experience yet.

The PR is what requires 5years experience, CSV requires 3years minimum.

Hannover:
Please gurus in the house. My question is can a company sponsor relocation to South Africa? How is the process like?

Not "sponsor" in the sense of what applies to the UK (COS) and Canadian (Nomination/LMIA) processes. For the South African process, there are a couple of options.

Intra Company Transfer Visa - This one allows multinational businesses to transfer employees from an overseas branch to their South African branch for up to 4 years. The visa can be issued for any period of time up to 4 years, but cannot be extended or renewed.

Critical Skills Visa - This one doesn't matter whether you handle it yourself or if the company does, as far as you have all the requred documentations from them (esp., the offer letter), being "sponsored by the company" is only a matter of whether they pay for the process or you pay for it.

General Work Visa - This one, it is a matter for Matthew 19:24 cheesy

Good morning chief, please do you know the opportunities for Nigerian nurses in South Africa.

Secondly do you know about the process of settling down as a nurse in SA.

Iā€™m almost done with my RN program here and Iā€™m considering getting my RM, PHN and BNSC in SA, but before I study Iā€™d have love to work and gather some funds.

Thanks in anticipation

Based on the August, 2022 adjustment to the SA critical skills gazzette, Nursing is now regarded as a critical skills which you can use to get a 5year work permit and instant PR if you have up to 5years work experience when you get the critical skills visa.

Properties / Re: How Did You Fund Building Of Your First Duplex & How Long Did It Take? by KazikageSama: 10:25am On Mar 10, 2023
Winters23:
Again I will say it one more time!

The obsession to "build" house and be called landlord or home owner is one of the major reasons many Nigerians are stagnant in life.

You toil for 10yrs and finally make your first 10 to 100million naira and the first thing that tops your agenda is to start building a house. Then you Bury all the money in the ground reverting to square 1.

That money is supposed to be your capital, you're supposed to put it back to wherever you got it from for profit or you can reinvest it somewhere else.

Then when your profit grows big you can upgrade your cars and maybe start building a house.

I currently own duplexes across 3 states mostly in Lagos and my home state, I didn't achieve that with my first breakthrough, I did it after lots of reinvestment.

If you want to go far in life, follow this simple logic, don't let the standards set by society control your money.

I understand your point Sir and sincerely, I agree in part however, first, let's clarify that owning a house is not an obsession to only Nigerians, it's across the world and it will remain so because house is probably one of the safest ways of maintaining value (unless there's a massive recession, war or great financial meltdown in the nation). Even in Europe and the Americas, young people use their active years to invest in their housing, only difference is they are credit driven nations hence they have great mortgage system which is able to finance home purchases for up to 30years or so.
These houses can be resold or refinanced later in life to give back cash to their owners in case of need so they serve as financial security.
TLDR, the challenge is not in the euphoria to own houses, what I don't understand is why it must be "duplex" as stated by OP.

Or maybe you can try classic lodge, kempton park. Not as expensive (like 300 per night or so) but def not as cosy also (I've used both).
Why Classic lodge gives you a single room (like an Airbnb service), Airport Inn Isando gives a reception and a room.

Both are for short stay though, when you want a longer term accomodation, just rent a room or a flat at either Edenvale or Kempton park.

Lest I forget, while you are in Jborg, try out Emperor's Palace (NOT THE HOTEL o, grin) I mean the Resort. It's got one of the best cinemas in Jborg, definitely the best casino resort in Jborg, lovely restaurants, toy castles and game houses for kids, artificial atmosphere, fountain etc. You'd love it and it doesn't cost much (if you respect yasef).

I used the DHA website for E-Visa last year so I've not used the VFS evisa website but from my basic search, I can confirm it's not fake. Few checks that confirmed the authenticity are

1. VFS has evisa platforms for multiple countries so it's not unique to South Africa
https://indonesiavoa.vfsevisa.id/
https://suriname.vfsevisa.com/suriname/online/home/index etc
https://southafrica.vfsevisa.com/

2. The SSL certificate of the website (which is authenticated by different web browsers shows they are generated by the same cert authority. (see screeenshots). Unfortunately, Nairaland only permits 4picture uploads.

However, if anyone still doubt it personally, please just avoid using it but let's not cause people to panic please.

Hello folks please I need clarity on the CSV
Do I need a job offer to apply?
And also is SAQA evaluation necessary before application

Yes and Yes.
Job offer, SAQA evaluation, professional body evaluation, MIE for professional experience confirmation (not compulsory but I really recommend it) are part of the documentations required then medical evaluation (Radiology inclusive), bank statement, certified copies of qualifications and certifications etc.

On the job offer, I'd suggest you submit a contract offer between 3-5years. People (myself inclusive) got bounced before cos of permanent offers, interestingly some people (esp. Amazonians) usually appeal the ruling and sometimes they win (50-50 chance).
Before now job offer wasn't a requirement, but based on the 2022 regulation, the one year, job-seeker Critical Skills visa was scrapped.

Good luck.

I understand Tinubu trying to cover his lies with more lies. What I don't get is why Seun and his Admins are hell bent on force-feeding Nigerians with these agenda by pushing all APC's propaganda to the front page.

After, Seun will pretend to be neutral in political matters.

Thank you! Some good news. It would be good to know the length of time they waited for their outcome just to have an idea of the average processing time. Itā€™s beginning to look like 6-9 months wait time for Jan-Aug 2022 applicants; donā€™t know about September 2022 upwards. At least, knowing will help others to manage their expectations.

8-9months or so.

Has anyone who applied for a long term visa between Jan & Aug 2022 received an outcome since then? We know the applications are being adjudicated upon in Pretoria due to DHAā€™s directive at the time but, nobody seems to have reported an outcome since then, which is very disturbing.

Not me but I know of people who got critical skills and Permanent residency results last week (both were positive).

Myst77:

Not sure anyone can tell you with certainty if it is worth it or not because each person has a different SA immigration experience (some good, and some bad). Itā€™s a risk only you can decide to make by yourself. But if you do decide to take the risk, do it with great awareness (and not ignorantly or naively) by researching about what you need to do to relocate to SA successfully and legitimately (whether temporarily or permanently).

With study visa, you can only stay for the period of your study. If youā€™re thinking of staying further after your study, one option is the work visa route. You can start by studying a course or getting a degree that will make you attractive for hire in SA. Itā€™s better to equip yourself with a skill/qualification that falls under the SA official critical skills list, click this link to see the skills/qualifications that are critical: https://www.gov.za/sites/default/files/gcis_document/202208/47182gon2334.pdf

After your study, you can apply for a SA job role that falls under the critical skills list but, note that you may have to apply for such jobs from Nigeria if your study visa expires before you get a job. Donā€™t overstay to avoid a ban.

If you do get an SA critical skills job, you can then apply for a critical skills work visa (CSV). CSV is the easiest route to secure a permanent residency through employment if you have held the CSV for at least, 5 years after which you can apply for permanent residency (check VFS and DHA site online for more details).

This is only a theory of course and just one option, the reality may be different if you consider long visa processing time, possible visa application rejection, affordability of school fees, availability of jobs for a foreigner, SA employerā€™s willingness to hire a foreigner, general economy, etc. So please, donā€™t take this as a confirmation that going the study route is worth it! Do your research, get more info from SA immigrants, and know your strengths. All the best!

You are very correct, just few additions.
1. Even if you qualify for Critical skills visa, you need to have about 5years working experience. The DHA have cancelled the waiver for students that studied in SA universities. Before February 2022, they didn't need that work experience but now they do.
2. If you already have the work experience, you don't need to apply for critical skills from Nigeria, you can apply for it with yor student visa as far as it's not expired yet.
3. Also prior to Feb. 2022, you didn't need a job offer for critical skills visa, you could be granted one year visa to seek for jobs in the Republic but now, you need a valid job offer (with contract agreement of 5years or below) before you apply for it. As communicated by the Minister, Critical Skills Visa is not a job seeker visa.
4. Another alternative is General Work Visa but you see that one? It's easier for a Donkey to pass through a needle hole than to get it. They'd almost request for Adam's birth certificate.

All the best.
