I have a couple of questions to ask please.

I have an offer with Nottingham Trent university for September 2023 and I'm planning to go with my family. However, someone in the UK told me that some universities are not giving CAS to people coming with dependants already due to the new law taking effect in 2024 so I wanted to find out if anyone going to NTU with dependants knows anything about this! I have emailed them but I haven't gotten any response, I wouldn't want to pay my deposit without finding out just incase.
Secondly, does anyone know how long it takes for Nottingham Trent University to confirm payment and send out CAS?
Lastly, does anyone have a link to NTU's WhatsApp or telegram group?

NTU confirms payment whenever they receive it. This typically takes about a week. You can email your receipt to africa@ntu.ac.uk so they can check if yours has been received. CAS takes about 10 days but a little longer now.

I don't know about Convera payment, people I know who tried said it didn't work, I only know of paying through the NTU online store or a direct bank transfer from the UK.

2. Please have you gotten your cas and how long after confirmation did it take.

I paid via convera and convera says the money has been sent to the school. However, ntu is yet to confirm my payment or reply my mail.

Shouldn't be a problem. Pictures are just to show a level of genuiness in a marriage, not a test of wedding location.

Our wedding pictures is us in a church while our marriage certificate says we celebrated in the court. We don't have those court pictures but we have church wedding and traditional pictures plus old pictures of us. Hope it won't be a problem for us?

I would like to inquire if a marriage certificate obtained through registry marriage is the sole evidence of marriage required for the visa process for dependents (spouse). My partner is the MA, and although we have been married for 3 years with two kids, she has not changed her name. Could this pose an issue?

As at the time I will be applying, my gap will be 4 years 9 months but I will get one anyway.

Is it safe to use an account that has been placed on lien for POF? I can't see the money on my mobile app but my email alerts show that the money is there. Can the statement of account be used? Will it show the total funds in the account in closing balance daily?

Just use your passport as it is. You really don't want to go through passport stress right now.

I am about to start processing my international passport for the first time. I used my own name on my NIN instead of my husband's name. I was told for me to have an international passport in my husband's name, I have to first change it on my NIN.

My question is: does my passport have to bear my husband's name, can't I just stick to my parent's name.

Will that disqualify me as his dependant for UK student visa?

Your marriage certificate and change of name due to marriage is sufficient and you can upload them during your visa application.


You don't need the second affidavit for preference

1. My school application and my passport carry my husband's name (new surname) - Ada Anna Musa

2. My BSc, Waec, transcript all carry my father's name (old surname) - Ada Anna Ibrahim

3. Marriage certificate and bank details are the same - Anna Ada Ibrahim

My bank statement will appear as - Anna Ada Ibrahim
School/Visa application as - Ada Anna Musa

I have affidavit for change of name due to marriage and a newspaper publication. I also have affidavit of name preference which lists the four different names in total that appears across all my documents.

Am I covered by the affidavits? Do I upload them alongside my visa application?

If it's the same with your bank details I won't be concerned about getting an additional affidavit

Does an affidavit of change of name and a name preference affidavit cover for name discrepancies in Visa application? Considering that my bank name in the proof of funds has my old surname and then first name and middle name are interchanged. Will this be a problem?

In the name preference affidavit I listed the names as written in my bank account name. I don't know if I'm clear enough.

For pre-CAS interview, is it okay to say you and your spouse are funding your study? What would you say is the least amount one can say their spouse/sponsor earns yearly that would be convincing enough?

Also, can I use my spouse's/dependent's bank statement for POF?
