I laughed when people said we need Osimhen's backup. Nacho is returning to super eagles to take his starting spot. Nacho will be the undisputed top striker in super eagles. Osimhen will be nacho backup not the other way round. I'm glad we have osimhen and nacho!!!!

8goals in 12 matches!!. Komekn come and see sumshin grin
Even Rohr himself will not contemplate your position above.

Instead, Nacho would be competing with Iwobi for a place while Osimhen's number 9 position remains undisputed should he remain consistent for Leicester city

Arsenal have made a late move to sign Southampton full-back Cedric Soares.

Soares has suggested his time at Southampton is coming to an end with the 28-year-old's contract up in the summer and no new talks planned.

Arsenal are keen to strengthen their defence, having kept just four clean sheets in the Premier League this season.

Soares joined Southampton in 2015 from Sporting Lisbon and won the European Championships for Portugal in 2016, starting in the final against France.

He joined Inter Milan on loan last January with an option to buy at the end of the season which the Italian club did not take up.

He should look at midfielders and wingers biko
No not a CB oooo.

It's a full back (RB) in Cedric that he is opting for.

It's on loan even without any option to buy at the end of the season.

After all, Our own William Saliba is coming back next season-Another center back

That's cedric soares(rb) another fine boy cheesy we need lb not rb
Maybe ARTETA thinks SAKA is doing well and Kolasinac would be back this weekend with TIENEY to come in 3 weeks

While not forgetting that BELLERIN is the only RB at present with AMN always saying he prefers midfield play instead.

With Chambers who also deputize at RB out for 9 months.

So, the coach could be right in going for Cedric after all said and done

Arsenal target another loan signing once Pablo Mari transfer is done

Arsenal are targeting another signing once the transfer of Pablo Mari is complete, according to reports.

The Gunners are poised to land Flamengo defender Mari on loan after Mikel Arteta made it clear to the Arsenal board he needed a new centre-back.

The Athletic claim Mari ticks the box as a left-footed defender, which was requested by Arteta when he took charge at Arsenal.

Arsenal could make another addition to their squad, most likely a loan, before the transfer deadline on Friday, according to the Telegraph.

Arteta is also keen on a full-back and Arsenal are reportedly weighing up a late move for Southampton defender Cedric Soares.

Mari is set to fly to London from Brazil, having left England when talks broke down earlier this week.

Flamengo wanted Arsenal to commit to buying Mari at the end of the loan deal, but the Gunners have managed to convince the Brazilian club to accept an option for the permanent signing, rather than an obligation.

Mari, 26, has no experience in the Premier League and there were concerns among the Arsenal board about how he might adapt to English football.

Arsenal have been restricted in the January window by a lack of funds and have prioritised loan signings after a busy summer.

If we can get Our own Wilfred Ndidi too, it won't be a bad idea as well

Nice one. I tot they wanted to change the outright buy to " loan with an option to buy".
Is it what is agreed on or it's the 2nd option?
Yes it's loan with an option to buy at the end of the season.

Initially His club doesn't want the loan thing because he is being rated highly by them.

But the injury to Mustafi has really hastened up the situation of things concerning the deal to be a loan with an option to buy at the end of the season

How would you rate this Pablo Mari?
He is really a good and decent defender though.

He would be a good addition to our chaotic defence line.

He is just being unlucky with the super player playing for a top rated clubside based in Europe.

He has improved beyond what he is used to being in 2016 when he signed up for Manchester City

Nigeria-Eligible Striker Scores Four Of Liverpool's Eight Goals Vs Blackburn Rovers LFC

England youth international of Nigerian parentage, Rinsola Babajide scored four of Liverpool's eight goals as they hammered Blackburn Rovers 8-1 in the fourth round of the Women's FA Cup on Sunday, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.

The Reds number 20 took only ten minutes to open the scoring, slotting past goalkeeper Perry after a rebound fell kindly to her, and came close to scoring her second of the game on 20 minutes but was denied by the Blackburn goalie.

Twelve minutes before halftime, Babajide got her brace as she volleyed home to make it 3-1.

Just past the hour mark, the Anglo-Nigerian bagged her treble with a low strike into the near corner and her fourth goal came through a brilliant shot from the edge of the box at minute 84.

Babajide forced an own goal when her cross was turned into the net by Ellie Stewart in the second minute of stoppage time.

Liverpool's other scorers were Niamh Charles, Niamh Fahey and Kirsty Linnett

The 21-year-old Babajide joined Liverpool in January 2018 after stops at Crystal Palace, Millwall Lionesses and Watford.

At times like this we come to realize that death does not respect a man's status. We are all the same after all. The way we come into this world is the same way we all exit it. I also want to remember many who have lost their lives in wars and in various circumstances even till this very day. I pray that this world and every evil in it will come to a final conclusion where God will decide. Maybe it will happen in our lifetime.

Arsenal Superstar Linked With A Shock Move Away From Emirates: Why This Deal Does Make Sense

According to Washington Post’s Steven Goff, DC United are keen on securing the services of Mesut Ozil.

It is believed that the MLS outfit had a representative in London on Tuesday for a meeting with players and agents that included the Arsenal playmaker.

However, DC United won’t likely be able to sign Ozil in this January transfer window and will have to wait until January 2021 to get him.

'I would like to continue as Nigeria coach' – Rohr targets contract renewal with Super Eagles

NIGERIA

The German tactician and the Nigerian football governing body are set for crunch talks over the renewal of his contract as the Super Eagles handler

Gernot Rohr has expressed his desire to continue as Nigeria coach as he nears the expiry of his current contract with the three-time African champions.

The German joined the West African nation in August 2016 on an initial two-year deal which was extended until June 2020 after the country secured a place at the Russia 2018 Fifa World Cup.

Since he took over at the helm, the former Bordeaux and Nice manager has guided the Super Eagles to the World Cup and the African Cup of Nations, where they finished third in Egypt last year.

With contract talks scheduled to take place in February, Rohr hopes to continue his adventure with the Super Eagles as they target a place at the Afcon 2021 in Cameroon and 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
The 66-year-old also acknowledged how he has developed a youthful team despite the retirement of key players like Victor Moses, John Obi Mikel and Odion Ighalo.

“I have been there for more than three years and it is long for Nigeria, because rarely can a coach be maintained as long. And it was possible because the results were good, that the team has evolved and that we accomplished the mission of rejuvenation," Rohr told Girondins 33.

“It was planned and we managed to do it with young players including the two that you know, who play in the Girondins (Samuel Kalu and Josh Maja), and there are others in England, in Spain, etc... We no longer have a big star, because John Obi Mikel retired, Victor Moses also retired for family and age reasons and even our top scorer, Odion Ighalo, announced his retirement after Afcon 2019.

“We managed to find a scorer in Victor Osimhen, and other playmakers: we have Samuel Chukwueze who plays at Villarreal, the little Samuel Kalu from Bordeaux who plays very well with us - one of the best every time he plays with Nigeria. So we have a very, very young, promising team, and I would like to continue.

“We will see the leaders soon. It is planned for the month of February and possibly before the matches in the month of March for the qualification of African Cup of Nations. Perhaps we could agree to continue the adventure with Nigeria.”

Nigeria will resume their qualifying campaign for the 2021 Afcon with a double-header fixture against West African neighbours Sierra Leone on March 23 and 31.
