well deserved
omo ologo, please any update on saka injury
After the match, Arteta explained (via the club's official website) that Saka had tried to carry on, but the decision was made to replace him as it was clear he was struggling.

"He had a knock in his knee and his hip, so we will see," Arteta said. "He's been a threat for us and in the way we planned the game, we thought we could exploit them with him and he did really well when he was fit.

"I think in the last ten or 15 minutes he was carrying his injury. We decided to substitute him because he wasn't feeling good, so tomorrow we will know how he is."

As noted by football.london, Saka was spotted limping on to the team bus after the match, and he looked to be in real discomfort.

It certainly comes as a huge blow for Arsenal. The Gunners are without summer signing Kieran Tierney, who fractured his shoulder and is expected to be sidelined until March, while backup Sead Kolašinac failed a late fitness test ahead of the game.

With no other options available, midfielder Granit Xhaka became a makeshift left-back on Sunday, so Arsenal will certainly be eager to see Saka return as soon as possible.

The Gunners will now head off on their winter break, which will give both Saka and Kolašinac another two weeks to make a full recovery ahead of the visit of Newcastle United on 16 February.

President Buhari Appoints Daniel Amokachi Nigeria’s Football Ambassador

President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed retired Nigerian professional footballer, former Super Eagles player and Assistant Coach, Daniel Amokachi, Nigeria’s Football Ambassador.

Amokachi, a member of the 1994 Super Eagles Team that won the African Nations Cup in Tunisia, was also in the Nigerian Olympic Football Team to the 1996 Atlanta Olympics that won the Gold Medal.

In addition to his football exploits in Europe, particularly in England where he won the FA Cup with Everton in 1995, Amokachi after retirement has managed Nasarawa United and Enyimba Football Club of Aba.

As Nigeria’s Football Ambassador – a largely ceremonial role – Amokachi will assist the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development to scout for talents, be part of processes to revive the country’s football development, as well as mentor young sportsmen and women.

Exciting midfielder Miguel Azeez has been added to Arsenal's Europa League roster for the knockout rounds of the competition, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.

The Hale End Academy product is among seven Nigeria-eligible players under the age of 21 in the Gunners Europe League squad list announced on Tuesday, the others being goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo, defenders Joseph Olowu, Tobi Omole and Tolaji Bola, strikers Bukayo Saka and Folarin Balogun.

Should Azeez make his European debut against Olympiakos Piraeus on Thursday, February 20, he will wear the number 79 jersey, same number he used when he faced Peterborough in the EFL Trophy last October.

Saka has been allocated the number 77 shirt, Okonkwo 76, Bola 40, Olowu 53, Omole 54 and Folarin Balogun 38.

James Olayinka has been dropped from the squad following his loan move to Northampton Town in the January transfer window.

The seven aforementioned players were named to Arsenal's List B.

Mikel Arteta makes changes to Arsenal's Europa League squad for knockout stage

Arsenal had to submit their squad list for the latter rounds of the competition by Monday night, as they prepare for a two-leg showdown with Greek side Olympiakos in the last-32

Mikel Arteta has included new signings Cedric Soares and Pablo Mari in Arsenal's Europa League squad for the knockout stage.

The Gunners had 24 players registered already for the competition after successfully navigating their way through the group phase.

As per UEFA rules they are now permitted to add a further three members to their squad to be eligible for selection in the later rounds.

Returning loanee youngster Eddie Nketiah is the third addition to the squad ahead of Arsenal's last-32 tie with Olympiakos.

Arsenal travel to Greece in the first leg of the tie on February 20, before Olympiakos visit the Emirates a week later.

The Europa League has taken on increased importance for Arsenal this season, given there is a spot in next seasons Champions League at stake.

With the Gunners' Premier League form stuttering, they are unlikely to finish in the top four, and currently face a battle to qualify for Europe at all next season.

A loss in their return to domestic action against Newcastle would see them slip into the bottom half of the table.

Arteta is keen to make use of the winter break before then as best as possible, and heads to Dubai with his side for a warm-weather training camp this week.

The squad are due to depart for the Middle East on Thursday, and Arteta has even allowed his players to invite their families and children along.

He is hoping to boost team spirit and unity by having everyone eat together on one evening of the trip.

Some of Arsenal's players have already touched down in United Arab Emirates for a few days rest ahead of the busy schedule.

They'll then be training from Friday through to Tuesday, before returning to the UK in order to prepare for the Newcastle clash on February 16.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta to use Dubai training camp to get ideas across

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has said he will use the club's winter break in Dubai as an opportunity to get his ideas across as well as provide players the chance to rest and recharge.

Arsenal were held 0-0 at Burnley on Sunday for their fourth straight Premier League draw, leaving Arteta with only one win from his first seven league matches in charge since replacing Unai Emery in December. They have scored only eight goals in those games.

Arsenal confirm Dubai training camp during Premier League winter break

Arsenal will travel to Dubai on February 7 hoping a "change of routine" will help kickstart a change of fortunes for the remainder of the season.

"We have to improve quality-wise. We're very far in terms of what I want in sustaining attacks and being unpredictable in our play, but that's a process," Arteta told Sky Sports.

"In the next two weeks, we have longer periods for training and I'll use them. We need some players back from injury and try our best to improve the team."

Arsenal, who are 10th with 31 points from 25 matches, return to league action against Newcastle United on Feb. 16.

"It's good to go away ... the players have been through a lot," Arteta told Arsenal's website.

"The last two-three months have been tough for them so I want to give them a few days off. Then we're going to go to Dubai, start working and focus on Newcastle."

Whether he likes it or not, he should be leaving us next season because Mari would be retained and William Saliba is coming back.

I just want to see Saliba-pablo pairing and partnership in the heart of our defence ooo

Well, they haven't lost and if they don't lose to Manchester City, it means they might not lose again this season.

That could even stretch to next season thereby surpassing Arsenal's record as the Case maybe.

It's normal to support a new manager, especially when he comes with some form of pedigree.

Emery was a huge disappointment especially after spending a full season with the players and also having two full summers to strengthen and stamp his name on the game.

We are glad though, we've got Arteta now.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are just killing the league.
4-0 over Sotton.
To me, our 49 games unbeaten is under serious threat and it could be surpassed should Manchester City not beat Liverpool on the 49th match day against them because they have relatively easy pairing both before and after then.
