charlesemeka85:That's why I said I don't blamed CAF because it's the results of the voting process which is subjective to the participating voter's pool. Some of them don't analyze beyond reasonable doubt before casting their votes to have observed your points above. Some May not even have the privilege of watching the players enough throughout but just opportuned to have access to the voting process only. Part of why some voters do abstain when not sure of whom to cast their votes for |
chucs:I don't have problems with CAF about the awards since everything is subject to voting by a particular section of the African confederation. For every voter has his or her reason or reasons for voting the various awardees just like every African football fan equally has his or hers |

Super Eagles Winger Resumes Training With Bordeaux After Passport Problems Nigeria international Samuel Kalu has finally resumed training at Bordeaux after overcoming passport problems. According to regional newspaper Sud Ouest , manager Paulo Sousa ran the rule over the winger and South Korea international Hwang Ui-jo this afternoon in Haillan. Depending on Kalu's fitness, he could be called up for Bordeaux's first Ligue 1 game of 2020 against Olympique Lyonnais on Saturday, January 11. Bordeaux have been preparing for the second half of the season since December 28 without their number 10, who was held up in Nigeria as a result of passport issues and he was not available for selection when they faced Le Mans in the Coupe de France on Friday. Manager Sousa has vowed to internally discipline the Super Eagles star for his unauthorized absence, saying the Nigerian was faking he had problems with his passport. Kalu has been linked with a departure from Bordeaux in the January transfer window, with teams in Spain and Germany credited with an interest in the former Gent and AS Trencin man.

(Photo) Stoke City Beat Tottenham To Signature Of Nigerian Defender Dubbed The 'Next Van Dijk' It can exclusively be reported that Championship outfit Stoke City have pulled off a huge transfer coup after agreeing terms with Nigeria U17 invitee, Iffy Udanoh. Several Premier League clubs not limited to Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal had explored the possibility of signing the 6-feet-4-inches tall central defender, who has been likened to Liverpool star Virgil van Dijk. Udanoh was one of the teenagers earmarked to sign a scholarship deal with Aston Villa but the stumbling block is that other clubs, including Lyon in France, were battling for his services. After leaving Aston Villa, he went to Tottenham Hotspur to undergo trials and did really well doing his time with the North London club. Stoke City snatched Udanoh from under the noses of Spurs, offering him a contract after just one trial game. Udanoh and his minders believe the Potters are the best club for him in terms of pathway to first-team football that he might not get elsewhere. His scholarship deal with Stoke City will come into effect on July 1, 2020.

NFF Should Hold On To Rohr As Super Eagles Head Coach Seeks To Qualify Nigeria For World Cup, AFCON Some days ago, Media Officer of the Super Eagles Toyin Ibitoye disclosed in a radio programme that head coach Gernot Rohr will not quit his job and is expected back in Nigeria within the month of January ahead of the draws for the second round of qualifiers to the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The news was a good one in the sense that it ensures stability in the Nigerian national team albeit certain persons in the Nigeria Football Federation apparently do not want Rohr to continue his job. The former Burkina Faso and Gabon coach was free to negotiate a new contract with another from January 1 with his contract with the NFF set to end in June and he has stated in the media that he could leave with DR Congo said to be interested in his services.. "Everybody in the NFF appreciates the job being done by Gernot Rohr. The coaches and the players, we are in touch all the time," Ibitoye stated on Brila FM. "Rohr loves his job that he is doing in the Eagles and the results are showing so why should he leave at this point. There's no true in that report at all. "Rohr is coming back. The World Cup qualifiers will start in March so we have to be united, focused; ensure that we have no distractions because we have to approach the World Cup qualifiers with all the seriousness that it deserves. "We expect Rohr to come to back to Nigeria say in two weeks' time all things being equal. He will be meeting with the Nigeria Football Federation and of course you know that in the third week of January the draws for the second round of qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup. "There are plans for him to be at the draws in Egypt. That's the next agenda and like I said, March is not too far away." Ibitoye also stressed that relationship between the coach and his employers have improved after media spats between both parties. "It is in our interest that we should avoid those cracks (Rohr and the NFF media war) because if we don't, there wont much headway. "We should ensure that there's no third party interference and I like the harmonious and matured way things are going on right now. If the NFF provide him with an accommodation that will be nice and it will cut cost in the interest of the NFF. Ibitoye also debunked claims that Rohr has no interest in watching the Nigeria Professional Football League and do not wish to make his team one that parade many home based players. "Rohr has watched a lot of matches in the NPFL. I will personally pick him up from his hotel to the stadiums. We have watched matches in Lagos, Enugu, Jos and many other places," the image maker of the Eagles concluded. It will be in the best interest of the Nigerian national team and for the chieftains of the NFF not to sack the present coach in the midst of qualifiers for major tournaments as that could affect team chemistry and tactical adaptability should a new coach be employed. Continuity is key in any sphere of life although admittedly changes are necessary when things go south. Even if there will be a change of guard, the best bet is to wait until the tickets for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2022 FIFA World Cup are in the bag.

Nigeria: Siasia Resorts to GoFundMe to Raise Money for His Appeal At CAS 6 JANUARY 2020 This Day (Lagos) Former Super Eagles forward and coach, Samson Siasia, has started a GoFundMe appeal to raise money to fund his case at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in order to overturn the life ban slammed on him by world football governing body FIFA. Siasia, who scored Nigeria's goal in the 1-2 defeat to Argentina at the country's first appearance at the World Cup in 1994, according to Opera news, had the appeal created for him three days ago and is aimed to raise $250,000. "Samson Siasia was alleged "to agree to collect bribe" in relation to a football match. He was subsequently banned for life from all footballing activities, without the benefit of defending himself. "The Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) has now accepted an appeal from Samson on FIFA's ruling. "Legal cost of defending himself is needed for him to clear his name," observed the statement attached to the GoFundMe appeal. Siasia, a member of Nigeria's famed 'Class of '94 Eagles,' was handed the ban by FIFA last August for allegedly agreeing to "receive bribes in relation to the manipulation of matches." A statement from the FIFA Ethics Committee at the time stated: "The Ethics Committee has found Mr Siasia, a former official of the Nigeria Football Federation, guilty of having accepted that he would receive bribes in relation to the manipulation of matches in violation of the FIFA Code of Ethics." Siasia was banned "for life from all football-related activities (administrative, sports or any other) at both national and international level." In addition, a fine in the amount of CHF 50,000 (US$50,000) was imposed on Mr Siasia. However, further probe revealed later that Siasia was banned after failing to respond to, (or appear) email requests from FIFA to appear before the Ethics Committee to present his defence. With the decision, Siasia's next recourse was to head for CAS, but to file an appeal required the former international to pay $100,000 excluding his legal costs. Close associates of the former Nigeria coach revealed that Siasia has been in depression for the last few months. Apart from the case with FIFA/CAS, his mother was kidnapped and was with the criminal gang for months before allowed to go after a ransom was paid. It was the second time the 76-year old lady was taken into custody by the kidnappers. Siasia coached Nigeria's Super Eagles between 2010-2011 and returned for another spell in 2016 and also served as coach of the country's Under-20 and Under-23 sides at different times. But the FIFA indictment did not state if it was during either of these periods that the alleged infractions was committed. Siasia has continued to protest his innocence, saying he had no recollection of ever agreeing to manipulate any football match and has also said in previous interviews that members of the Super Eagles team he played with have not offered him the kind of support he needed. "But I will fight to the last to clear my name because I know that I did nothing wrong. "I only heard about all of this for the first time just like everybody else on social media and then I got a call from (NFF President) Amaju Pinnick asking me if I had seen any letter from FIFA. "I said no and he asked me to check. That was when I checked my email. But I know that I am innocent and I am asking everybody to help me raise this money to clear my name." https://allafrica.com/stories/202001060016.html |
TheSuperNerd:Alright and thanks for the update superbly |
Utonwanne:okay |
andrewbaba44:I'm not saying Carzola should be made the captain ooo because I have already mentioned Ramos (Sergio) Yes I know that Busquets is the vice captain too |
TheSuperNerd:Is that his natural position for Torino? Or It's just a make shift role for him versus As Roma ![]() |
Subzero047:I think isan is right. Because the travelling arrangements in Europe and the rest are moderate and better Unlike that which is obtainable here in Nigeria via rough road network. Part of the reason matches are being played on Sundays only |
andrewbaba44:I pray for Carzola to make the Spanish Euro 2020 squad like you premised earlier on your post. And that he should do so along side Ramos the captain irrespective of old age |
Subzero047:Yes but 2 Draws in Kano and Bauchi at the end of the day isn't too bad |

unicorn79:No the Post is not ambiguous as you think. The meaning of TheSuperNerd's Post was crystal clear but I think chriskels tried to use his own adjective on Chukwueze which I quite agree with Because I equally see him as someone with poor end product that he needs to seriously work on himself Left for me though, I wouldn't use the word "Stupid" if I am to christined my comment in line with chriskels's |
Icon4s:Very well said |
ChrisKels:So, Does that mean the AFCON 2013 squad should dominate the super eagles team of the decade ![]() |
ARTICLES Liverpool transfer blow as La Liga giants enter the race for 21-year-old Ligue 1 hotshot Real Madrid and Barcelona threaten Liverpool’s interest in Victor Osimhen Liverpool transfer target Victor Osimhen has emerged as a target for La Liga giants Real Madrid and Barcelona. (h/t Express) The 21-year-old striker who joined Lille from Charleroi in the summer has taken Ligue 1 by storm. The forward has made 24 appearances for Lille and has scored 13 goals and 3 assists. 10 of these goals have come in the league, where the Nigerian occupies the third spot in the race for the golden boot. (h/t Whoscored) His impressive performances have helped Lille climb to fourth place on the table. Brought in as a replacement for Nicolas Pepe, the youngster has done justice to the faith shown in him by the Les Dogues faithful. Liverpool have had a miserable injury record in recent weeks. The Reds are thin on numbers, having lost a score of first-teamers going into the business end of the season. Jurgen Klopp is a fan of Osimhen. With the January window open, the German manager must make a move for the striker. However, this could now be in threat, with the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona entering the race. Although Osimhen is expected to stay at Lille this window, a lucrative offer may force the club’s hand. (h/t Sky Sports) The striker himself has spoken of his desire to stay put for the remainder of the season and help Lille qualify for the Champions League. Osimhen has made 9 appearances for the Nigerian national team, scoring 4 goals.

Subzero047:Not necessarily so. But remember that Vardy is out injured. So, risking Iheanacho today isn't worth it when Carling cup game against Villa is coming up Infact, he was an unused substitute today
|
