'We Are Looking For Strikers For Senior Team' - Ex-Schalke Star Tips Bayern's Nigeria-Eligible Striker Zirkzee For Netherlands Call-Up

Ex-Schalke striker and Netherlands international Youri Mulder believes Bayern Munich wonderkid of Nigerian descent Joshua Zirkzee could be rewarded with a call-up to the Dutch senior squad ahead of the 2020 European Championship.

Aged 18, Zirkzee came off the bench to score two match-winning goals in his first two appearances in the German Bundesliga - against Freiburg and Wolfsburg - with his first contact with the ball on both occasions.

Netherlands coach Ronald Koeman is reportedly looking for offensive reinforcements following the injuries suffered by Lyon's Memphis Depay and PSV's Donyell Malen.

Speaking to German newspaper Bild, Mulder said : "An incredible story for the boy personally, but also for us Dutch.

"After the serious injuries of our top goalscorer Memphis Depay (cruciate ligament rupture) and Donyell Malen (knee injury), we are looking for strikers for the senior team.

"And if Zirkzee continues to develop like this, he will definitely become a topic soon."

Former Feyenoord youth-teamer Zirkzee has earned caps for Netherlands U15, U16, U17, U18 and U19 national teams.

You just picked a 2012/13 season rating. A Belarusian Female club may have done well in the UEFA women league that season.

What is the level of Female Football Development in Belarus?

I don't follow their female teams but I don't think I have ever seen them in any FIFA or UEFA organized competition.
No the rating is horizontally presented from 2012/2013.

Let me see if I can capture the rest.

Ok here is the full table and the top 10 rankings along side the ranking information

The results above is even as at June 2018

It's like u don't understand the essence of the amount paid on him.

If it was just 20-30 million pounds, no wahala. We can even give him two seasons to click. For a 72 million pounds transfer you've got no excuse bro. U need to start churning out the bread from the bakery immediately.
That is where we got it wrong-Pepe's valuation.

This is EPL. The best league in the world with it difficulty for adaptation

Besides, 40% of his goals at Lille were penalties and Free kicks, so he wasn't particularly special but because the 72 million pounds was to be paid over a period of 4 years made it simpler and easier to accommodate by Arsenal.

How competitive is the Belarusian Female league? undecided
Very competitive to some extent because it is ranked 19th ahead of countries like Poland, Sweden Serbia etc

Modified:

Meaning: The Belarusian league is better than the Nigerian female league that produces the bulk of our Super Falcons players and so she should be invited with immediate effect not minding the fact that she is 29 already.

Atleast her team (Dynamo Minsk) lost to Barcelona females in the knock out which is not a small feat in Europe

He came with confidence on the back of his performances at Lille. But lost it due to his poor performances in the EPL.

A 72 million pounds player should be hitting the ground running. The French league is obviously very overrated!
Let's just give him the benefit of doubt for being his first season and start rating him from next season as most players do not usually click at once like that.

Besides, it could be the same thing with his time at Lille during his first season as well too

Who are the scouts of Nigeria's Super Falcons team that a 29 years old Emuidzhi Oghiabekhva is still waiting for her first call up?

Imagine that and some people wants Rohr that is bringing her counterparts from everywhere out of Nigeria and the super eagles

For a player that has played 80 club games with a staggering 106 goals, 72 starts and 8 substitute appearance erring 4 times on yellow card to her credit since 2009 is more than decent enough for the super Falcons indeed

Nigeria: Why Nigerian Football Is Not Growing - Pinnick

30 DECEMBER 2019

Daily Trust (Abuja)

The President of Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick has blamed the domestic football leagues for the dwindling fortunes of the round leather game in the country.

Speaking during a media parley in Lagos, Pinnick said football cannot grow until the leagues are revamped.

The former CAF 1st vice-president blamed the parlous state of Nigeria's leagues on a lack of TV coverage and attendant revenues but said the Federation is working to "remedy the situation".

"Every league depends on money accruing from television rights for survival. Ours cannot be different.

"We will look at where we got it wrong and see how we can remedy the situation.

Our football cannot grow to our potential if we don't get the local league right," he added.

It will be recalled the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) recently signed a multi-year TV deal with China's Next TV details of which are yet to be fully revealed.

Similarly, Pinnick said the sports minister, Sunday Dare has every right to speak on the performance as the head of sports in the country.

"Don't forget the minister is the chief sports officer of the country. We don't feel bad he spoke his mind on the state of football in Nigeria.

"We believe his intervention is bound to be a wakeup call for us and the players," he said.

He also revealed that preparations were in top gear with Nike to commence the design of new kits, starting with the 2022 World Cup qualifying matches in March.

"We're launching a new set of kits for the World Cup qualifiers in March," Amaju disclosed.

Watching Amaju pinnick on tvc sport, u wil know that man has good intentions for Nigerian National teams esp super eagles
Talk is cheap brother.

What is going to be his legacy for the said Super Eagles?

A legacy of no succession to the present crop of players on parade?

My opinion is premised on the poor performance of the Super Eagles feeder teams in Chan Eagles, U23, U20, U17

While not also forgetting the female counterpart of the Super Eagles-The National Super Falcons with the associated dismal outing of the U23 and U20

Nigeria's Oghiabekhva named Belarusian Women's League Best Player of the Year 2019

Her awe-impressive form saw the Nigeria star beat the league's best to the player of the season accolade

Minsk striker Emuidzhi Oghiabekhva has been named the Belarusian Women's Premier League Best Player of the Year 2019.

The Nigerian forward claimed the coveted award at the recently held Belarus Football Awards Gala at the end of the season-closing ceremony organised by the Belarusian Football Federation.

Oghiabekhva netted 44 goals in 26 outings for her club, including 10 in seven Women's Champions League matches as they reached the Round of 16 before bowing out to Barcelona.

The 29-year-old, who was ranked fourth in Nigeria's Best Player of 2019, scored five braces and two hat-tricks and a record seven goals in a match during the just-concluded league season.

Her brilliance guided her Belarusian Women's Premier League outfit to a domestic treble in 2019 and qualification for Women's Champions League as the country's sole representative next year.

Following her fantastic season, the striker was rewarded with a contract extension which keeps her in the Belarus capital till September 2020, wading off interests from top European sides.

Having put pen to paper, Oghiabekhva will focus on improving her achievements with Minsk and also earn an international call-up for Nigeria campaign at the 2020 African Women's Cup of Nations.

cheesy who is the highest paid coach in Africa?
former Egypt boss Javier Aguirre was highest-paid coach after receiving a reported monthly salary of €108 000 (R1.7 million),

Cameroon's Clarence Seedorf sits in second position with a suggested monthly income of €96 000 (R1.5 million), while Morocco's Herve Renard completes the top three with €80 000 (R1.26 million).

Moroccan newspaper Al Massae, though, believe the Frenchman was, in fact, the top-earning coach at Afcon, receiving €120 000 (R1.89 million). It has also been claimed that his assistant Patrice Beaumelle earns €55 000 (R864 000) a month, which would see him sit in fifth position on the list.

Algeria's Djamel Belmadi, who is believed to receive €50 000 (R786 000) a month, and Nigeria's Gernot Rohr (€49 700, R781 000) follow in fourth and fifth places.

Stuart Baxter sits in sixth spot on the list, with local media claiming he receives about R490 000 (€31 000) monthly, which is much less than what his predecessors Ephraim "Shakes" Mashaba and Pitso Mosimane received.

So, How would you judge pinnick now after reading this notification?

It's a very stupid argument. It's absolute nonsense. Every good hunter knows you hunt where you can easily find game.

So as a good fisherman you will leave the part of the sea where there's a shoal of fish and go cast your net in the barren part of the waters because you are looking for 'gems'.? Does this even make sense?

In the 90's it made sense to scout for players in the local league because that was where the pool of talents was. Today that pool has evaporated and the talents are now in Europe yet some saboteurs say the coach should go look for players in the local league where it would be difficult for him to find one rather than concentrate his search in Europe where prime talents are.

Don't worry shebi you guys are crying for local content as per local league players. Wait in a few years time then the team will be dominated by FB players the campaign and cry will be for the inclusion of Nigerian born, foreign based players to be included.

One thing is that this world never goes back. Its always moving forward. Even when you think there has been regression to the past, look very carefully and you'd find the stamp of the present on it. Okonkwo refused to let go of the past. As a strong man he sought to use his power to stave off the irrepressible call that came to his people. Okonkwo dashed himself against the rock he sought to resist and was crushed to pieces. The people heeded the call and moved on.

I don't like today's machine football but I know that regardless of my desires, regardless of my wailings, I cannot bring back the era of Maradona, Gullit, Van Basten, Baggio etc. That era is gone.

Hear me my people the era of the local league is gone!!
Indeed!

Was it not here that someone said that Austin JJ Okocha cannot cut it in modern day football owing to evolution?

Haven't we seen that in how Rabiu Ibrahim and Victor Brown of the U17 fame faded out as they couldn't replaced him (Okocha)?

When the Best legs in the country at all levels are running away abroad,

TheGoodJoe want Rohr to discover another Amokachie, Oliseh, Finidi, Babangida, Kanu, Oruma etc
