Gd morning my sabi mothers. My 5 months old baby has bn coughing seriously for two days now, I jus noticed he has catarrh too last nite with ltl fever bt he still eats & plays very well. Iv bn giving vit c & paracetamol which reduced d fever, bt no improvement on d cough, Pls wot shld I do? Secondly, I started giving him pap wit SMA Gold as he clocked 5 month & he's still breastfeeding, shld I add any other cereal or food? He doesn't seem to b gaining weight recently dats y I'm worried. Abeg mk una answer me, tnx! |
@Cutiereborn, I guess most mothers believe that hot or warm water helps to flatten d tummy after a CS cos it cleanses d womb or so since u can't excercise or tie tummy for 6 months. I also did CS & I took only warm water for almost 2months, my DS is 4mths now & my tummy is bk to normal. |
Yes dear, ur baby was big then hence d big tummy, mine weighed just 3.5kg, just kp eating ur normal meals, avoid cold drinks and soft drinks too, take home made fresh fruit juice instead. |
@Rieme, yes it's bk to almost pre-pregnancy size, It went down d 6th week, though I still have stretch marks. I guess d hot water I was drinking helped a lot & d uda peppersoup too. I stopped d uda peppersoup when a friend said it reduces the weight of babies, don't know how true dat is too bt I'm still drinking d hot water & eating frequent light food. |
@favoredgal, I did cs and I was asked not to tie any thing on my tummy or do any exercise so dat d place will heal faster, dat was what I did. My tummy has gone down even without tieing anything on it. For me, I won't advice anyone who was sectioned to start exercising after 6 weeks. |
@Rieme, I also gave birth 9 weeks ago, I hv bn taking only warm water, no cold drinks, no pounded yam, lol, took plenty peppersoup, fruits & vegetables. I also usually place hot towel on my tummy when bathing & most importantly, exclusive breastfeeding. It's not easy bt u hv to try. No exercise till after 6 months & with the consent of your doctor. Hope this helps. |
Tnx mamas! Its military hospital in Port Harcourt, my doc in d private hospital i registered was not in town & i didnt have much confidence in d doc dat was on duty cos he has neva attended to me before. I'll ask other nurses her name later today. My happiness is dat I hv my baby in my arms, tnx for ur concern. |
My birthstory: I went for my antenatal on d 4th & started having serious pains. A matron checked me & said I was 2cm already & adviced I go home & get my stuff if my house is close that I must be in d hospital that night. I decided to go to my mum's place which is a bit closer & asked hubby to bring my bag so we can go to the hospital from there. Na there wahala start, I no know say devil wear nurse uniform come as night staff. As I just entered d ward & told her why I came, d nurse begin vex o! See questions "who told u u r in labour? i dt nd any stress dis nite, abeg madam, jus carry ur bag & go to ur house, i dt hv dat time to look at any body's face dis nite". My hubby started begging her to at least check me, she angrily did & said u r still 2cm, abeg jus carry ur bag & go. I refused & demanded that I want to b admitted dat nite cos I'm a patient & it was almost midnight or i'll call d matron. I was admitted by anoda nurse only for d doctor to come in very early to tell me dat my baby's heartbeat is v low & was screaming that they shld hv checked it in d nite, I was immediately wheeled in to be sectioned & in few minutes, my very handsome boy was brought out. I gv God thanks for bringing d doc early to work. Mk una no vex for d long gist abeg. |
