I am at my wits end as to how to retrieve my money into my account.

Most times reversals don't come with alert.

I have printed my statement of account from 19th September 2023 when Jumia cancelled the order, gone through it, and there was no reversal. The amount is still on the JUMIAPAY platform but when I attempt to withdraw the amount into my account, there will be an error message " invalid account number ". The same account number I used to transfer money to Jumia for the order.

Please how do I retrieve my money from JUMIA?

I ordered for an item costing #186,000 from JUMIA but the item was out of stock and JUMIA cancelled the order on 19th September, 2023. I was asked to withdraw the amount from JumiaPay to my bank account. When I initiated withdrawal process to my bank account, I got an error message "invalid account number " This was the same account number I used to transfer the money to JUMIA
while ordering for the item o!!
I chatted with the customer care agent to complain, but they tossing me around. The latest email I got from Jumia Team on 10th October 2023 was that they have returned the money to my bank account. I have checked my statement of account but the money is not there and the credit is still pending on JUMIAPAY. I tried replying the email from the Jumia Team but my emails keep bouncing back as not delivered.
I am at my wits end as to how to retrieve the money from JUMIA into my account.

Relax until when? The order was cancelled since 19th September 2023. I brought the issue here when I got tired of this back and forth with their customer care agents

Another way round this issue is to open a joint account with your spouse with the mandate- Either to sign- to access funds after passing on. The downside is that if wife is not prudent, loyal and faithful, then the money can be withdrawn and one may be left to "hold the short end of the stick" grin

Next of kin can't get money from bank. The solution you gave is useless, especially in Nigeria
POD is not legally available in Nigeria.

The best way is to have your wife or husband and at least one child of yours that knows your debit card pin, bank app pin.

Just make sure your child and spouse can be trusted.

Another way round it is to open a joint with your son / wife with the mandate that any one of you can sign to collect money. At death, the living (wife/son) can have access to the money in the account pending the formalisation of the letter of administration. The downside is if you have a bad child or a wayward wife, then your money will be wiped out even when you are alive cheesy

But If You Want To Avoid This, Simply Request For Your Bank To Give You Something Called A POD Form. POD Stands For "PAYABLE ON DEATH". The Name Of The Person You Fill In That POD Form Will Determine Who Will Get Your MONEY. All The Person Needs To Bring Is A Death Certificate To Get That MONEY Out.

With A POD Form, You Will Save Your FAMILY The Stress Of Going Through All That Lengthy Legal Process And Even Losing Some MONEY To The Law.
