Amodsun: Saw this post on Linda Ikeji's blog and thought to share ithere. Enjoy..."The Fat girl ends up miserable year after year. The societyhas neglected the fuller women. This has resulted to fatgirls feeling depressed, left-out and downcast. The averagebig lady spends most of their years in solitude, angry atthemselves, the society and even their shadow. Many arebeing laugh at, ridiculed, jilted, abused and sent back indoorswhere they are depressed and even get fatter. The society issuch a big nightmare for this group of people which issaddening."When they go for shopping which is a very beautiful and funexperience for almost every lady. But for the fat girl, it’s arather sober experience. In many cases, sizes are deceptiveto the extent that a size 12 dress will be tagged size 18.She has to through every cloth in the store before she findswhat fits her. Sometimes, she ends up not seeing anyflattering outfit. Again, the sadness begins. Then she turns to her tailor to make a good dress for her.A beautifully styled dress she saw in a magazine page. Thetailor makes it, it’s still not flattering. Sarcastically, thetailor says, “I find it difficult sewing for fat girls, it is toohard”. Again, the sadness begins. Her soon-to-be-married best friend calls, “Wendy, will yoube one of my bridesmaids”? “Don’t answer of course youwill”. She is excited.“Will call you up later so we go choosethe dresses with the other girls”. Her heart drops.Shopping bridesmaids with the other girls, she knows will bea huge nightmare because she is the “fat girl”. Whileshopping, The saleslady says, "We don't have your size, sohere's the biggest we do have," and she gives it a try. Ofcourse, it never fits. Her underarm fat is spilling over, herback fat is folding over the waist, and she can't get the thingto slip over her butt. But it looks beautiful on everyoneelse! And she is left feeling guilty for being more than ahandful. Again, the sadness begins. At NYSC orientation camp. The fat girl is handed herdress bag. She opens it. The kaki trouser is as small as asize 6’s whereas she is a size 18. “Ma’am, dis kaki is toosmall for me, can I get a larger size”, she says to theplatoon mistress. The lady murmurs, “Exchange withsomeone else”. (lol, we’ve all experienced this). And shelooks around, no one has her size. Most of other corpers, she may ask will reply saying, “NOO!!! I no carry orobosize”. Everyone laughs at her. Again, the sadness begins.Every fat lady go through post-traumatic dress disorder. Itis the condition that occurs when a person, usually female, feels disappointed and traumatized while leaving a clothingstore. It could happen when she views old photographs andasks herself "What the hell was I wearing " It could also bethe traumatic stress she feels between the moment she posta picture on the Internet and the moment somebody likes itor responds. Marriage is meant to be a union where love, comfort and unity exist but when the partners turn on each, then there is much left to be desired.
What else can one say when a wife who is supposed to be a man’s best friend, turns out to be his worst enemy? That is the scenario we have on our hands when an angry wife decided to take out her anger on her husband by emptying a pot of boiling water on him, causing him to sustain serious burns on his body.
A colleague, Seun Oloketuyi, posted this on his Instagram page on what a wicked wife did to his friend in Abuja after a quarrel.
This is what he wrote to accompany the photo:
Just left the hospital and it is worse than I thought. My good friend is in the hospital in Abuja now for four days with second degree burns.
While he was sleeping, his wife poured hot water on him (face legs, thighs, hips). She then locked him inside while he was screaming “fire, fire”, then she took off.
She is 5months pregnant; they have a 16 month old baby. Been married for a year and a half. Early in the year, she slapped him which led to him beating her.
They reconciled. He also complains that they switch house-help every month because she beats the house-help where there is blood on the wall. Should he stay or get the f out!!…- pissed off friend?

sirAliyu: Some stories are too big to believe sometimes. The Anaconda as big as this, and other details surrounding the story is a good example. This voluminous and monstrous beast has a record to have killed 257 human beings and 2325 animals but was killed in Africa’s Amazon River by team of 37 brutal hunters, called Africa’s Royal British commandos. Oh my God, if this animal is for real, then there are many more wonders yet untold and unheard. Reports revealed the snake is 134 feet long and 2067 kgs. Indeed this should be the world’s largest Anaconda. Unfortunately, this story has been refuted by a Nigerian online platform, debunking the report that the Anaconda must have been killed in South America and not Africa. Read what he said below between, a lot of Nigerians agree with him with some even saying who counted the animals it killed, who counted the human beings? Lol continue… It reads: THIS IS A COMPLETE FABRICATION. ANACONDAS LIVE IN SOUTH AMERICA..AND THERE IS NOTHING LIKE AFRICAN AMAZON. D ONLY AMAZON FOREST IS IN SOUTH AMERICA. D SPECIE OF CONSTRICTORS DAT LIVE IN AFRICA ARE D AFRICAN ROCK PYTHON AND IT DOESN’T EVEN GROW UP TO D ANACONDA. EVEN D BIGGEST ANACONDA FOUND LIVING OR DEAD ACCORDING TO VERIFIABLE DATA IS NO WHERE NEAR DIS SIZE. SO THIS IS A HUGE, BIG FRAUD AND FABRICATION. ITS NOT IN AFRICA. Awesome God! |

The father of the multiple twins who ran away from home for three months, leaving his wife and six children has returned.
Emeka Uche, after days of persuasion by his wife Ruth returned home yesterday, July 15, 2015.
The Uches used to stay in Agege on the outskirts of Lagos. Mrs. Uche, a teacher, had two sets of twins. Another set came in February.
Just as this reporter was about to leave her apartment, she came face to face with a light complexioned man wearing an Arsenal jersey, a pair of jeans and slippers, holding two polythene bags.
He looked confused, uttered no word, save for the exchange of pleasantries and made to move away when Hope, the Uches’ former neighbour, saw him.
“Papa ejima (father of twins), where are you coming from? So you are still alive? Please come inside and sit down,” she exclaimed.
Upon hearing ‘Papa ejima’, Mrs Uche rushed to the door. She didn’t run into his arms to hug or kiss him, but stood and watched him for some minutes after offering him one of the plastic seats in the living room.
But he did not sit down, rather, he went straight for his newborn babies. He was seeing the three months olds for the first time.
Uche held both on each arm, smiling and then collapsed into the blue chair, admiring them.

Read her wonderful story
Fatimah Ibrahim is a 39 year old widow, a mother of two, from Borno state. A chance encounter with her on the street would most certainly portray her as just one of the thousands of ordinary women walking the streets of Lagos. But meeting her at a building site would startlingly reveal the other side of her! This woman is a professional painter, tiler, and plumber! When asked how and why she entered into professions dominated by men, she had this to say, “I have always loved painting .My friend’s husband who is a painter taught me how to paint, and I started painting even when my husband was alive. Later, I picked interest in tiling and plumbing profession, and I went for the training. Right now, after my husband’s death, I am proud to say I am a professional painter, tiler, and plumber. To me being a woman doesn’t really matter”
As must be expected, Fatimah is confronted with some challenges which centers mainly on gender disparity. “It’s been hard getting work. Some people give me jobs to do, and they are never disappointed; but others are just reluctant to trust me with their buildings, because they still find it difficult to believe the fact that a woman can do these jobs, and even do them better than men
"She called on the public and the government to give her contracts and test her level of capability. She also stressed that these were her means of livelihood. “I am a widow. I have two children aged 13 and 9.I am not begging the public for food, as I have been blessed with the means of providing for my children. All I am asking if for Individuals, contractors, Government to give me jobs so I can make money and take care of my children and other widows who are not so fortunate to have vocations like mine”
