My girlfriend and I have been dating for 4 years now, and we are thinking of tying the knots in another 1 or 2 years. However, we are experiencing serious resistance from her parents due to our age difference. She's older than me with 14 days, and her parents believe it's enough reason for us not to get married. I work in a firm where I earn over a hundred and fifty thousand naira every month, and she works with an agency in Lagos state, so we are quite comfortable and well to do. Her parents are even yet to acknowledge that I'm in the picture because they believe it's never going to happen. We are ready to fight together till we make them understand that age has never and will never be a barrier to our happiness and future because we communicate, understand, and easily correct each other. A lot of people are still amazed at how much we still love even after 4 years, because we don't get enough of one another. We have talked everyday for the last 4 years, gone through the good, bad and ugly times, We have never cheated. We also lived together for six months during our final year in school, so we have an idea of how living together is, and we practically live each other's life... Every single day. So, I believe one or two persons would have been in this situation too. Hence my tabling it before you for serious advice. Thanks.
