COME OUT OF WANT (2) - Wednesday, April 29.

Want or lack is a state of poverty. Poverty is a bad thing. It de-humanises, it brings one down from a place of honour to a position of shame.
In verse 15 our text, the young man who used to have friends and probably feed many, was reduced to a labourer and a beggar. Poverty made him to desire anything he sees for food, even the food of the swine, which was not given to him. Someone who was created to be served now became a servant.

Poverty brings insults. It makes friends to desert you, it makes you to live and think like an animal. In-fact it is the source of many evils one can think of. You must hate it, you must resist it, therefore repent from sins that are taking you to the valley of lack. Come to yourself like the prodigal son; your Father (God) is ready to receive you, He is a loving Father and will bless you again.
Meditate on Psalm 23.

Prayer: Oh Lord as from today I break the chain of poverty around my neck, I refuse to continue to be poor in Jesus name. I shall not perish in hunger in Jesus name. Oh Lord, give me bread enough to eat and to spare. My God is supplying all my needs today according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Confession: I receive the grace to come out of the valley of sin and want and hop to the mountain top of prosperity.

COME OUT OF WANT – Wednesday, April 28.

God has great and abundant wealth. And as the good, and loving father He is, He is always ready to give to anyone who is ready to ask for his own share or portion from Him, especially those who think they have a need for it.

God is not what He is being painted to be--I mean the picture of a wicked and stingy father. He is a father who takes pleasure in the prosperity of His people.

We see the promptness of the father in the passage above, in releasing to the son what he demanded for. He who asks will receive (Mat 7:7).

However, the problem is in the way we handle the resources that God has given to us. God gives, but does not take back, because, the calling and the gift of God are without repentance.

The want or lack in your life is not from God. The scripture says in the book of Psalm 23 that "the Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want". As long as you make God your shepherd even in your spending and investment, you shall not want.

The son in the passage above became prodigal because he wasted the resources that his father gave him.
Therefore, check your life carefully and ask yourself these questions:
a) Is God directing my spending or am I the alpha and omega of my finance?
b) Am I spending my money as God directed; or only to gratify my own desires?
c) Am I paying my tithes and giving offerings regularly?
d) Am I giving towards the expansion of God's kingdom, through world evangelism and soul winning?

Remember Mathew 6:33; "seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you".
This means making concern of the kingdom your priority.
The second cause of want and lack is engaging in riotous living, that is, wasteful and, uncontrollable spending, impulsive buying, and lack of planning or budgeting.

I believe as you are reading this compendium today, God wants to intervene in your problem of want and lack, if only you will re-order your life and change your focus.
As you make the necessary changes today, I see your want come to an end in Jesus name.

Prayer: I thank you father because you are always ready to give. I thank you father because there is forgiveness with you. I therefore confess the sins of not considering you and making you my shepherd in my daily living and spending, I receive forgiveness in Jesus name. I confess the sin of not paying my tithes and offering. Deliver me from selfish life. I hand over the control of my finance to you. Lord as from today, take over in Jesus name.

GROWING: YOUR DELIBERATE ACTION IS NEEDED - Monday, April 27th

In these verses of the scripture we are considering, a principle for growth and principle of transformation are revealed for anyone who desires to grow unto maturity in the kingdom. These principles are discussed below:
i Everything in the kingdom has life has a capability to grow and bring u blessing. The word of God is referred to as the mustard seed. Once it is received in your heart and allowed to grow, it will make the life of the bearer a blessing.
ii Every word of God is a living truth. As long as you allow the word to grow, it will operate as changer in your life . However, the revelation here is that it must first of all be TAKEN, as the verse says "as a grain of mustard seed which a man TOOK". To TAKE, involves an action, a deliberate one, a decision of the heart, using your will power.

The reason why the word of God has not been making necessary impact in many people's lives is not because the word lacks power, but because, the hearer is only hearing it religiously and paying lip service to it. Many are opening and reading the bible not because they want to take something out of it, but as a matter of habit.
If you want the word of God to bless you, it will take your effort. You have to take it as a sick man takes a prescribed medicine in order to combat a nagging disease or sickness. Verse 21, of scripture we are considering reveals that when you TAKE the word, it can change you, and transforms your total being that is your spirit, soul and body. But most of the time, many Christians apply it only to the issue of the spirit. Whereas every word of God is God breathed and has the ability to affect every part of man. So the word must be applied to the soul and the body.
As you read this meditation day God is speaking to you that the word in your hand right now can do the same work in your spirit as well as in your soul and body.

Prayer: In the name of Jesus, as from today by faith, I take the word of God and I begin to apply it to every part of my life.

Confession: I receive the en grafted word of God today and I grow thereby.

DEAL WITH THAT STUBBORN PROBLEM - Sunday, April 26

The woman in this passage had been suffering from infirmity for eighteen years. She must have tried to find solution. However, when she could not get one, she decided to give up and take the problem as part of her "cross" to be managed till the day of death.
This obviously was not the plan of God for her and for you too my dearly beloved if you are in such situation.

Firstly, you must understand that God does not tempt anyone with evil, no matter what type according to James 1:13, let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God, for God cannot be tempted with evil neither tempt he any man

Secondly, God wants you to know that Satan is the author of sicknesses and diseases; so don't carry your disease or sickness as if it is a cross that will give you access to heaven.

Thirdly, God wants you to know that the reason He sent forth His son, Jesus Christ was to destroy the works of the devil (1 John 3:8b). "For this purpose the son of God manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil"

That was why Jesus called this woman out of the congregation and dealt a deadly blow to the devil in her life.
The point of emphasis in this story for meditation is for you to know that whatever problem or challenge, that has stayed with you for long and refused to leave has a spirit of the devil behind it.

And you must deal with it by;
i First taking authority over the devil through the deliverance prayer (you may need to see a pastor who can conduct deliverance for you, by breaking the grip of that demon)
ii Then you can claim your healing by the laying of hands as mentioned in Mark 16:18. This was all Jesus did.
Please note that you cannot pray this kind of prayer and have result without being born again by giving your life to Christ or else the situation will worsen.

Today is the day for your deliverance and healing from that affliction in the name of Jesus, so don't give up, don't take the issue as the part of a cross God wants you to carry.

Prayer: By the blood of Jesus I destroy the foundation upon which the spirit of infirmity and affliction is standing in my life. I block every ancestral or self inflicted access route through which the demons have come into my life by the blood of Jesus. I break the power and the grip of the spirit of infirmity afflicting me with this disease (mention the name of the disease or diseases), I command you to stop your operation in my body, I bind and cast you out of my body now.
Lay your hand upon yourself and claim your healing using these scriptures: Isa 53:4-5, Ex 23:25, Ps 107:20, Ex 15:26.

Confession: I receive my freedom from every stubborn problem now.

Many have had their dreams shattered because of their mouths. Many others have stirred up enmity for themselves even because of their inability to shut their mouths. Joseph could not keep his mouth shut and by so doing, he was cast into a pit, sold into slavery and imprisoned. Thank God who was able to turn things around for his good according to His word (Rom8:28).

I plead with you today, do not join anyone to commit the sin of backbiting another person, because the personal you back bite about will soon hear and will make himself your enemy.

The scripture even warns that you should be careful to pour out your heart to the one that lieth in your bosom.
The law of life is sowing and reaping. Whatever bad thing you say about any body, will soon be said about you.

Use the instructions below as your life guide
i Don't critcize others.
ii Appreciate others.
iii Remember the golden rule; love your neighbour as yourself.
iv Put briddle upon your mouth.

There are people that are waiting to hold your words against you, so only let words that are seasoned with grace proceed from your mouth.

Your word will not become a trap for you in Jesus name. Anyone waiting to use your words against you shall not prosper in their assignment in Jesus name.

Prayer: Father, intervene by your mercy on my behalf and turn whatever wrong and negative word that has preceded from my mouth to good in the hearts of the people that I have uttered them to.
In the name of Jesus those who are waiting to use my words against me, let them wait in vain.

THE SERVANT OF THE LORD MUST NOT FIGHT – Friday, April 24th.

Persecution, opposition or restriction are signs that you are yet to get to your place of rest or place of God’s ordained destination for your life. For every level you attain in the spirit there will be new persecutions. Example is seen in Gen 26:17-23. When the men of Gerar opposed Isaac, until he got to Rehoboth striving continued.

Wisdom in times of persistent strife, attack or opposition in your supposed place of destiny is to;
1.Seek God for what to do
2.The wisdom Jesus taught and example of Isaac are enough at such times.

In Luke 9:54-56 the disciples wanted to fight it out in the name of faith or spiritual warfare but Jesus restrained them. There must be no
striving, no fighting. And to Verse 56 they moved to another village.
We again also see His no-fight message in the instruction Jesus gave to the twelve apostles when He was sending them out to go and preach in communities.
In Luke 9:4-5, He instructed; And whatsoever house ye enter into, there abide, and thence depart. And whosoever will not receive you, when ye go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them
In essence he gave them a charge to stay with those who would receive them and move away from where they were being opposed.
God himself warned Joseph in a dream to take baby Jesus and flee into Egypt. God could have said he should fight Herod (Matt 3:13). The same instruction is what the Holy Spirit is giving you today move away from where you are being opposed and stay only with those who receive you. Remember a servant of the lord must not strive (2 Tim 2:24).

Prayer: Oh God, give me the spirit of peace, love and friendliness.

Confession: Today I shall be imparted by the spirit of gentleness from the Lord.

The PRAYER of a FATHER - Thursday, April 23rd

The role of a father over his children is so great. Apart from God, the father is the one that have authority over his children, regardless of the fact that he is godly or not.
That was why God gave this commandment Honour thy father and thy mother that It may be well with you. (Ex 20:12).
Some children today dishonour their fathers and receive curses from their fathers instead of blessing. For instance Reuben, when he went to defile his father's bed, was cursed in that It was declared that he shall not excel (Gen 49:3-4) so it was, to the extent that his blessing was given to his brother, Judah.

In our text for today, King David was praying for his son, Solomon ever before he became a king and all the prayers of David in 2 Chron 9:1, the bible records that When the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon she came..... Verse 9 says And she gave the king a hundred and twenty talents of gold and of spices great abundance and precious stones neither were there any such spice as the queen of sheba gave King Solomon.
Also in verse 21 of 2 Chronicles 9 another prayer of David was answered in the life of Solomon
For the king's ship went to Tarshish with the servants of Huram every three years once came the ships of Tarshish bringing gold and silver, If David had cursed Solomon his son, the curse would have come upon him.

Today many are suffering under the curses of their parents. Some are barren, and some are in hardship or in sickness because of the utterances of their parents over them.

The Holy Spirit is impressing it upon me strongly to tell you this day to examine your life especially your past, if you have not been in the good book of your earthly father and maybe he had cursed you at some point and your life is a reflection of that curse. If your father is still alive, you need to go and make amendment and seek his blessing. However if he is dead I stand as Moses stood on that day to cancel the parental curse upon Reuben according to Deut 33:6 by the precious blood of Jesus.

I declare that curse to Be wiped away and blessing should come into your life today in Jesus name

It is important to remind you as a parent also to mind what you say to your children, especially when you are angry. If you have cursed any of your children, renounce it and start blessing him or her from now on.

And to you young man or woman, begin to do things that will provoke your parents to bless you.

I pray for you that any parental evil decreed upon you at any time of your life is cancelled by the blood of Jesus. I break the power of that curse, and I command the blessing of the Lord to be your portion from today.

Prayer: Repent of the sin that brought the curse over your life.
Ask God to forgive you for breaking His law, by not honouring your parent. Use Col 2:14-15 to pray.
Use Gal 3:13-14 to pray and release God's blessing upon your life. Where possible make restitution with your parents or the children you have cursed.

Confession: I receive all the answers to all prayers and the blessings my parents ever prayed and placed respectively on me.

DIVINE SURPRISE - Wednesday, April 22nd

In today's study and meditation, John the Baptist was surprised to see people turn out in large numbers to him despite the fact that he was in the wilderness. He did not go to the press, and no serious personal effort to publicize himself. You see, there is nothing God sends you to do that He will not aid you Himself to do. It was the same God who gave John the assignment, and gave him the word to speak and also placed him in the wilderness and it was this same God that went to the people who needed to hear the message and stirred up their hearts to go to him.

1 Thess 5:24, says Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it. Whatever God commands, He will commend. The question this day is God your commander? Have you surrendered to him to run your life, and to carry all your burdens for you?

As a child of God, performance does not always result in productivity, and activity does not always mean performance. You must cease from impatience, the bid to perform and do something quickly. Like Saul did in the battle against the Philistines when he did not wait for Samuel to come and perform the sacrifice before the battle (1Sam 13).

One of the signs of a true son of God is patience, ability to wait for God's opinion on issues before taking action.
Isaiah 26:16 says "he that believe shall not make haste."

The reason for your frustration, struggles and failure is because you did not allow God to choose what to do for you and when you allowed Him, you did not realize that you are just a partner with him.
John the Baptist waited for his word from the Lord, stayed put in the place of divine location and God was doing his work for him. God Himself went to the cities, towns and villages and brought the people to hear him.

God wants to do the same for you in the area of your divine assignment, career, family, business and all your endeavors. Stop the worry, stop the fretting, decide to allow God to be the chief commander of your affairs.
What about Noah? (Gen 6:13-14, 18-19, 7:14-16) when God gave him assignment to build an ark and save creation?
When he did his part, It was God who went and commanded all the animals, birds and fishes to come to him and they came him twos, male and female. Imagine if Noah were to go look for the animals, how many years do you think it would have taken him to gather them all. In fact the flood would have come and gone if ever he was able to go and search for them one by one.

We have the example of Jonah too (Jonah 1-12, 3:1-5). The same God who told him to go and preach to the people of Nineveh was the same God who went ahead to stir up the hearts of the people unto repentance.

He who calls you to that assignment will do it. Submit to him, and recognize Him as a partner. You were not called to perform; you were only called to obey.

In the name of Jesus I command the heavy burden of how to go about that divine assignment on your shoulder and heart to be lifted up. Your frustration and confusion cease now.

Prayer: Father, I surrender to your will; let your will come to pass in my life in Jesus name. I am sorry for all the areas in my life where I have been wandering from doing what you have planned concerning me. I repent from unbelief and doubt.

Confession: I shall receive divine surprise from God today in my divine assignment where God has placed me.

GOD is FOR ME - Tuesday, April 21st .

When the voice of the enemy and the oppression of the wicked break your heart, when the terror of death are fallen upon you and fear and trembling and horror overwhelm you, and thoughts of guilt, thoughts of putting up wings like a dove and flying away to a place of rest passes through your heart, you must remember that God is with you.

Like King David in Psalm 56:3-4(GNB) you must say, when I am afraid, O Lord almighty, I put my trust in you, in God, I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.

You must remember God`s words of promised protection and help which are His convenant.
You must be determined to trust God by praising him for Hid words even in the midst of the storm, because He can never change.

Roman 8:31 says what shall we then say to these things if God be for us and who can be against us.

Dearly beloved, kindly believe God`s word, believe in His presence, praise Him for His word for when you do all these it is a demonstration of your faith that God can arise for you.
The same God, who did not spare His only begotten Son, but delivered him up to die for you, is for you.
The same God, who delivered Israel from their enemies, is for you.
The same God, who fought the previous battle and gave you victory in your trouble, is for you.
Only make sure that you are for Him too. That is your responsiblity, do not shift your focus, do not go into sin; stay with God.

I Prophesy upon you this day that all the enemies troubling you, those that are planning to hurt you, those that are gathering in hidden places and watching everything you are doing and hoping to kill you, God will punish, disappoint and defeat them in anger in Jesus name.

Only don't keep your mouth shut. Pray these prayers as David did in Psalm 56:9 when I cry unto thee then shall mine enemies turn back. God wants to hear your cry now and I see those enemies of yours turning away from you Shalom.

Prayer: Let God arise and contend for me today.

Confession: Help me against the enemy, for human help is worthless. With God on my side I will win, He defeats my enemies.
