Romance / Re: Naija Boys. What Chicks Do You Prefer? Ethiopians Or Somali by Kellizle: 8:01am On Mar 04, 2012
The unproductive nature of Somalis. Spending hours online, trying to prove you are better than other races. Okay we get it, you lot are superior to every race on earth. Superheroes to the rescue. Now go save your ailing, wailing, impoverished, and destitute population.
Politics / Can We Save Ourselves? by Kellizle: 7:25pm On Feb 29, 2012
Is Nigeria so corrupt that we cannot fight the magnitude of things going on in our country? A nation of 140 million people, and 90 percent of its citizens are impoverished. . . And the only solution we seem to think of is to run away to another land/country where their citizens have fought for their freedom?
Dear Nairalanders, is illiteracy, tribalism, or religious differences the reason(s) why the different tribes can't unite to fight this common cause?

Marriage = willingness to pay a bride price for a woman, in exchange for exclusive sexual access.
Career / Re: Should I Spend N40m On Harvard Business School Mba Or Just Do Business With It? by Kellizle: 7:55pm On Dec 08, 2011
I remember when High School Diploma used to be the shitz (I wasn't born then, just read and heard about it). Then came the College/University Degree crave. It went further beyond to the Masters/Graduate Degree crave. PhDs, not so much, considering the fact that they are time consuming, and nobody really hires you except government agencies, schools, or you're a consultant/your own boss.

Then came the Business School crave with Wharton School in 1881, the first collegiate business school in the world, and the United States. Harvard followed suit in 1908 and called theirs (then) Harvard Graduate School of Business.

The MBA has since remained the most versatile and attractive Masters degree to date. However as time went on and the business world became more competitive, general management MBA couldn't contain a lot of people's desires anymore. These "new sect" of people did not need general management skills as such, but needed an MBA that focused more on certain professions; hence the MBA "specialization". Today, every Tom, Dick and Harry can have an MBA. If not from the top 20 Business Schools, then from the top 50 or top 100. And those are the 1 percent elite Business Schools in the world to get an MBA from. If you can't go to Harvard, Wharton, U Chicago, Stanford, MIT, or Columbia, I bet you can get into Cornell, Emory, Michigan, UMD - College Park, U of Austin - Texas, Rice, Cambridge, Oxford, Manchester, Imperial, Edinburgh, IMD, IESE, U Toronto, Queens University, McGill, University of Capetown etc that have MBA programs. Everybody has a potential for greatness, and so it will be wrong to assume that you're gonna nail "that" only at schools such as Yale, Harvard, and the rest of the so called elite institutions. Don't forget that rankings are biased.

Ivy league education is no longer what it used to be. The world has advanced, there are programs and certificates that teach you stuff that those elite top 10 business school could never teach you.

Oh and the Executive Education at Harvard also fills in a "need void", How many Managers, CEOs, and Presidents can fully devote 2 years just to go get a piece of paper, rather than get the "real paper"? Also, what's the difference between a Harvard MBA and their - Advanced Management Program (AMP - with successful people such as Ratan Tata), General Management Program (GMP), Owner/President Management Program (OPM - with successful people such as Tyra Banks), President's Program in Leadership (PPL), Program for Leadership Development (PLDA)? After all, these programs confer the "alumni" status to their already -career, business, and financially successful graduates? As you guys stated, it's not just about the "academic rigor" but more so about the "connection".

If you don't know what to use your MBA for, just get a Msc in Finance or Management, then go for a lot of Entrepreneurship programs offered in those same schools. You'd be better off in the long run when you wanna start your own business. Being in the field for 20 years, then leaving with grey hair to start your own business doesn't cut it anymore.

Plus the University of Wisconsin has produced more CEOs in fortune 500 companies in the United States than those elite business schools. Harvard, Yale, Ox-bridge etc all rest on old laurels. The last time I checked University of Oxford's facebook page, they were bragging about winning the best college website, grin cheesy

Computers / Re: I Helped Steve Jobs Create The Mac — Bill Gates by Kellizle: 6:27pm On Nov 13, 2011
They all copied XEROX.
Steve has no right to say Bill is unimaginative when he (Steve) also openly admitted to stealing Xerox ideas. (They are both unimaginative, if so)
Apple's major strength is from the (i) gadgets, and applications (I-phone, I-pad, I-pod) etc.
More people use PCs than Macs. Mac computers can't be attacked by viruses that attack PCs, but now that they have a significant market share of home computers, people are writing Mac virus-software that could attack Macs.
The PC has the most user friendly operating system - Windows, than any other OS out there.
Steve claims that Microsoft's Bill ripped his ideas, and is a thief. I wonder what we should call him for ripping Xerox's ideas?
Macbook, Pro, Air overheat when running on websites such as Youtube.
Steve donated 150 million to a cancer research institute sometime in the past. He had a charity organization, but shut it down due to time constraints.
Both were geniuses of our time, whether they invented something, or improved someone else's ideas; they helped shape the information technology era we're in today,

Mr Manny4Life,

Indicators used in gauging a country's wealth and economic profitability are different from indicators used in gauging a company's wealth. Just like how the formula for deriving the horsepower of cars is different from the formula used in deriving the horsepower of Aircraft.

Read this article to gain a little financial knowledge:

Foreign Affairs / Re: Apple Holding More Cash Than Usa? by Kellizle: 8:51am On Jul 30, 2011
In that case Pushkin, Apple Inc's Operating Income is just 18 billion dollars.

You need to get your facts correct. Either the writer was naive about financial interpretations, or he was just dead wrong.

Anyway, my advise to you Pushkin, don't just run off with everything an article says. Do a little research. wink
Foreign Affairs / Re: Apple Holding More Cash Than Usa? by Kellizle: 3:06am On Jul 30, 2011
The United States Nominal GDP = 14.780 trillion dollars

Goldman Sachs' Total Assets = 911 billion dollars

Citigroup' Total Assets = 1.9 trillion dollars

Apple' Total Assets = 75.18 billion dollars

Microsoft's Total Assets = 86.113 billion dollars

Chevron's Total Assets = 184.8 billion dollars

ExxonMobil's Total Assets = 302.5 billion dollars

AIG's Total Assets = 683.44 billion dollars.

How can any American company be richer than America? *Shrug*

@Senate 02

I'll tell you one thing - if nothing else, this Governor is quite the comedian; but reading through your posts made me realize that you aren't in any way smarter than this Governor. In other words, you're as comical, and uninformed as he is. Although I applaud you for being able to fish out the mediocre and internationally disgraceful ways of our government in Nigeria, the whole principle behind being knowledgeable supersedes all other cool qualities you might think you possess, such as voicing your opinions.  Logically, you seem to be just as misguided and judgmentally flawed as our Royal Highness Rochas. For what it's worth, it is illiterate to pass judgement abusively on an entire tribe or race based on the action(s) of one individual from that tribe or race (The fallacy of Circumstantial Ad-hominem).  I'm sure you're familiar with that Western world experiment where the "white man" concluded "black men" were apes who haven't evolved.  I can't wait to read your reply on that experiment, as there is no way that you, Senate02 with your awfully ignorant statements, could have evolved past the "homo-erectus" stage. Seeing that you're as close to "uncivilization" and "mental barbarism" as the next crab eating macaque at the zoo, might I remind you that I'm not here to trade verbal wars with you. I'm only here to call to attention your antique and obsolete ways of reasoning.
