You are not feeding them enough....... please feed dem well and they will stop pecking theirselves. I just sold 3000 cockerels and at some stage they were eating theirselves especially at their crop,because i was short feeding them.

I don't know how you guys do it, I process my birds and sell to entries at N680/kg and to supermarkets at about N1000/kg. I don't know how anyone can sell at N370, it must have been chickens raised with hormone booster, because I cannot understand how anyone can raise bird to 2kg with obviously less than N370. If you are not using hormone booster or super medicating them to get them to 2kg under N370, please share your raising process. As some of you already know, I do not use any medication on my birds apart from the lasota and gomboro that is given to them within their 10 days old. This way we raise premium birds, So even at N680, is a give away.

i think this is too low. most times it takes about #550 to get a 2kg live weight in 6weeks and this is when doc are between #100 -#150. Now that DOC are above that, #550 wont be able to give me 2kg.... Your price is low. If you can raise up your price, then we can work together.

Am having some issues with my 21 weeks layers. some of the birds died today and I decide to do a post mortem diagnosis on the birds, then I discovered some growing tumor on the intestine on one of the birds. This the first time am seeing such a case. Mortality is up to 20 already and I have some weak ones that are still down. Note:they just started dropping 2 week ago.

Are there paralysis? On a more serious note , did you gave them mareks vaccine? if yes when was it ?

Yes it will work( even though the doc is from a low hatchery).. and it works better if you start them with galdus for the first 7days.

Sorry all 4 d late response i've been a little busy lately.@tabontabon, d pen is 20ft by 50ft, no mortality, i noticed some birds are dull and am giving dem antibiotics now. @kevin, they're abt 700 in number, i've done d first treatment bt i still see some lice on dem, pls d cyperforce is it a pour on? can i use it on d birds too or will i dilute it? @farmtech, my friend mills d feed in his farm, his prodtn is 70-80%. my birds are 26+ weeks and yet nothin 4rm dem though am still hopeful, i've spent a lot of money already on dis.

You will dilute the cyperforce base on the instruction on it and you can spray directly on birds with a knapsack sprayer, endeavour to spray your walls too, becos most of the lice will go take refuge there, and later get back to the birds. the way it stands now, ensure you do the spraying the evening of the very day you gave them the ivermectin,so that the lice dont escape. Please how is their poo? what color are they? what antibiotics are you giving them now? i am waiting to see your vaccination plan. Can we see the feed formula?

I just discussed this issue with my vet doc, and he said plenty of vitamins should be given to them. He said the excess dewormer in their system has weaken them alot , so they need to be strenghten , He said the ideal of giving them iodine like my boss(eggcelent) has sugessted is not a bad ideal, but you have to give it to them on ratio 1:3 for just one day,and the vitamins should come in the next day. [b]Please all other farmers in the house should contribute to this ....this guy needs help..

I used 40 littres of water to miss 100ml, and distributed it to d birds. they're on deep litters.

okay how many birds are they? with my understanding, concimectin is administereed by using the average weight of your birds to multiply the total number of birds and then divide by 25, Whatever you get represents the number of ml of concimectin. Then whatever quantity of water they take daily should be divided into four part, and one part should be used for the mixing of the concimectin . You serve them plain water after the have finished the solution. You repeat same on the second day and if you can get cyperforce use it to spray the whole pen especially the litters before packing them out. Then repeat after 14 days.
