Lol, I've been in ur shoes. I gave most of them out. And this were even cloths given to us in the US ooo. My sister in law went to load some chinco cloths from ROSS. Infact when I wore one for my baby one day, hubby looked at itandsaid " who gave her this cloth? I said " your sister". I gave some out and wore some for heron those days when it's just. Me and her at home. Trust me ds cloths can also serve their own purpose. And because it's new, it looks good on the first day it's worn.
Lmao at "Chinco clothes". Hope the baby didn't itch lol

Happy sunday! Friends.
Pls i want to make an enquiry........
To those who had used KLM or Air France; how is the connection like?
Will a first time get lost in the terminal?
If you are using wheel chair, will the air line help you to the next connecting flight?
Will you be passing through the country's immigration before the next boarding?
How about the luggage transfer?
Thanks for making time to answer the following questions.
God bless.
For KLM, the airport in Amsterdam is very big. Once you get out of your arrival gate, you will see a board directly in front of you or not too far. Depending on what time you arrive and when your next flight is, the gates for your next flight may not be up yet. Even if the gates are up already please check from time to time as it may change. Gates are far from each other so try to get to your gate in time. So summary for Amsterdam, follow the signs and you will be fine.
For Paris, I found it confusing, their gates don't even seem like they are in the same airport and the signs are kind of poor, please sort your gates out early, cos the gates are even farther than Amsterdam. Asin you need to take some form of tube/bus.
About lauggage transfer, as long as you bought one ticket and you didn't divide the trip yourself then you will get your bag at your very first point of entry in the US.
About wheelchair, I have never travelled as a preggers but in Amsterdam they have those mini cars that drive around the airport. I dunno how you book them but I see preggers and old people in those mini cars sha. Just ask the hostess at the door of the plane, the ones that say "bye-bye" when you are getting off the plane. I think they can help.

I have no maintenance fee charged, the bank officer told me that I'll not be charged the monthly fee of 12$ if i meet one of the requirements stated in their website such as **Have at least one qualifying direct deposit of $250 or more***Maintain an average daily balance of $1,500 or more OR When you are a Bank of America Preferred Rewards client (waiver applies to first 4 checking and savings accounts) Mine is Personal Core Checking account and been using it without any charges. I even have my BoA internet banking which I can transfer anytime without visiting the bank.

Windy City is fine and the weather is friendly
Are you talking about chicago? Friendly Keh? At this time of the year? You are probably hitting -39 degrees and I'm not even playing. Lived there 2years, horrible horrible winter they have up there. Plus the wind na die. Meanwhile has anyone tried advocate trinity hospital on the south side of Chicago? It's on the south side quite alright (not a fancy area ) but the hospital is well equipped, really good and they service the poor communities so I assume they are affordable. I won't advice you live on the south side (cos it's not safe) but You can live in the south suburbs and commute to the hospital when you need to, just 20mins away. I'm not birthing in Chicago cos I have no relative there but for those who are interested in chicago, I just thought to offer my 2cents in your dollar. Hugs and kisses

kikikikikiki plx do they sell winter coats in alaba ni thought it was just ? fake ? electronics grin grin grin

kemo88 this Alaska is not looking straightforward based on what yo have posted.

It appears that it covers hospital only - no mention of doctor (midwives will take delivery not doctor, in the event that yo need a dr per emergency, what will that cost be? not indicated), prenatal nko? lab work, epidural, etc not included.

nne look this thing well...
My sister I shall find all these out on my first trip. God be with me thanks
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 3 by Kemo88: 2:41pm On Jan 08, 2016
Meanwhile anything on Minneapolis POE. I have only seen one good and one bad comment in this "part3" on Minneapolis POE. Cos passing through Minneapolis is 1453dollars on KLM but LAX is 1829. So I was thinking Minneapolis. Any thoughts?

Forget about sounding cheap. More like the most cost-effective option. I think when you are on ground, you can scout for ob/gyns, pick one, register, schedule an appointment, get that in writing and keep alongside the hospital documentation for missionary POE purposes. Definitely add an Epi to your package unless you are a hebrew woman cheesy cheesy cheesy
Will do. I need to start writing these things down lol. My memory since I got pregnant isn't reliable lol. Hmm see people saying no epidural cos of side effects. But I'm not Hebrew lol

[quote author=vcole post=41781555]if you would be travelling first then you are not at the letter to embassy stage.
When you are embarking on the trip for delivery, you can send a letter to that effect.
[/quote
I'm not asking for this trip. I am asking for when I'm making the final trip for delivery.

Yes it is necessary.. Good thing you have used yours for visiting but even at that, it is not fault proof. We have read of someone deported too even thou she has good travel history to the US. Most important thing is preparation. Good luck
I'm scared to, people are saying if they cancel my visa I would have regrets that I should have just tried without sending the email. My husbands Cousin said if I have travelled and booked and payed all my fees then I may not need to send the email to the embassy. She said the only reason they let her in was cos she had payed all her bills. She sent no email lol. Lol lol I know I sound silly
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 3 by Kemo88: 2:21pm On Jan 08, 2016

how about pre-natal care? Is that coordinated by the ob/gyn or the midwives? Usually in the county hospitals, the midwives co-ordinate and the ob/gyn handles pre and post natal care as well as oversees labour and delivery. However you would get to see a different ob at each visit.
I know registered midwives are great. People have had good experiences with RMWs and Doulas.
For me sha, you gotta have a FACOG and maybe FACS oh! i kent even shout. After sojourning to God's own country, I must have the best I can get.
They asked me if I'm registering for prenatal and delivery or just delivery. They said they would get back to me on prenatal fees. See hun, delivery being just 2500 gives me the levity of having more and more other options added to my care (like epidural etc) . But a place where delivery alone is 10k without other things one wouldn't want to squeeze in too much. Lol sorry I sound cheap lol

TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 3 by Kemo88: 2:03pm On Jan 08, 2016
Please one more thing my lovelies. I read through the thread some people said they contacted the embassy that they were going to go and give birth in the US and they got that genetic email. Some people on the thread said it's not necessary if you have used your visa before for visiting. Please I got my visa before I got pregnant through Dropbox. I've gone visiting on it and I'm going visiting again before I go for delivery... Do I need to send the embassy a change of intent email or inform them in anyway? Cos I know B1/B2 actually includes tourism medical and conference as long as you pay all your fees out of pocket. Do you think the email is entirely necessary?

2,500? What of doctor's fees? Nne for that amount I shall go to alaba, purchase winter coats and all what not and head straight there! cheesy
Have u checked the flight cost to alaska sha? Compare and weigh your options well o. Sometimes family isn't the prime / only factor to consider.
Well, they said I wouldn't need doctors referral as that's inclusive in their package. They said their midwives will take the delivery but if there's any ish the doctor would be only a call away if needed. Then I have to pay 500dollars for pediatricians fees. Price not including tests or scan. I intend to go with test and scan (I read that on this thread).... Meanwhile flight is like 1829dollars (klm), I would find out more when I make the first trip. It sounds too good to be true lol

i'm a doc as well, my work schedule was call duty every friggin day for 3 months when i was preppin for my missionary journey. I still read. You have to read, if not you would make decisions based on limited information and then you can end up regretting later.
Thanks a lot. I've started reading as we speak. Just remembered I can actually just search words like "LAX" and a lot has popped up. BA (their affordable flights )goes through Houston when you are headed to Alaska so I'm avoiding BA. My best bet is AF/KLM.

you are starting really early so you shouldn't exactly be so worried. you are also planning on taking a trip to Alaska before you go for delivery right?so POE really shouldn't bother you per se, since you are going on a vacation for that trip.
Yes yes you are right. I wouldn't have had to go if they were responding well and sent me all my burden of proof via email. But it's what it is. Thanks a lot. I appreciate your response

Lol my dear it's the only place I have family o. Funny thing is their whole package for spontaneous (vaginal )delivery is 2500 dollars without epidural. So they are affordable. I don't know anyone in Houston o lol

Ok so who will read and post on ur behalf?

U don't wanna know how many Dr's are here... But that's not an excuse...
It's like mbbs
U r on call, u have postings, u have tutorials and u must b awake and alert for lectures, clerk and present ur patients... There's no excuse why ur patients aren't clerk's no matter how tight ur day was.

IF ANYTHING DOCTORS ARE THE BEST AT MULTITASKING... COS OF THE TRAINING.
It's same thing here.
We can help with some answers... But there some questions only you can read up and get answers to. Somethings are really over flogged.
At least search the specific topic u want answers to. (The search option is very helpful)

1. For poe it's different for everyone.. But lax isn't as bad as Iah. Search for lax poe and read people's experiences.... Its gonna b hard for someone to type her experience again.
2. Nope
I was more than 32 weeks when I flew

3. With ur work schedule I believe u can make out time to get hustle for pta (stanbic) or buy from black market.

Pls make out d same time to read. These cbp officials are not smiling. Gather all the required ish
Thanks for your advice ma'm. Everyone's story is different i guess. I agree there are people here busier than I am and still make out time but I was only speaking personally(based on I am going through). May be cos I'm still early in my first pregnancy and my symptoms/sickness have been off the roof. Hopefully when all that settles , my multi-tasking will begin again. I appreciate your response and corrections. May God bless you. Thanks again

I answered the one I know. Which is about LAX. That is the only one I know anything about. I have no experience on any of the questions. My post was not because of your question ooooo. I have just been noticing plenty repetition. I hope those that can answer the other questions will do soon.

God is your strength
I know you did. Thanks again for your response God bless you. My final destination is Alaska and no one has done anything there so I have to figure all that on my own. To make matters worse, all the hospitals in anchorage Alaska have is phone numbers, no email. They rarely pick their calls. They also said they don't mail out email quotes of prices(they are so backward chai!) But I plan on traveling soon to make payments and all since my belle never show (<18weeks). Would come back and go at 35weeks for delivery. That's the best chance I have to get all my burden of proof. This Alaska na wa!

Please readdddd naaa people. This forum is not paying anyone here salary naaa. Haba. Plenty questions that have been thrashed are Still been repeated. When you read you remember and even see other things you didn't think of before. Reading is like you completing the syllabus while just jumping to ask questions is just like using those yeye keypoints to prepare for WAEC and JAMB.

I started reading before I got pregnant . I have nothing to add yet because I have not gone for interview or done anything. But the information here is so much confusion go catch you on which to go with. ...

Time is not an excuse. If u need something badly you will go all out for it. I can't imagine how annoying it is for people that have answered this questions severally to see the questions again.

God bless you all for your contributions. If I hear any of una wey no dey read dey halla una babies when dey grow to read ehhhnnnn ...... . Lol
My dear I understand you but it's not easy going through some of those threads. I'm speaking personally. My work schedule is crazy I'm a pregnant doctor on call every other day, I was even admitted recently cos of stress at work. So please just pity me this one time and let those who can answer me- answer. I'm so sorry for the inconvenience I'm causing but please help me.

Hi mums,
Happy new year.... How's everyone doing?
I have 3 questions
1) please how is LAX ( Los Angeles ) as a point of entry
2) is it true that lagos airport won't let you fly past 32weeks? Is it true that they have an ultra sound scan to check the number of weeks to see if you are lying?
2) please with all these Buhari wahala, where can I get dollars at the cheapest exchange rate.

Thanks...

Hello everyone!
I have searched and searched the whole part 1-3 for anyone who has been to Alaska for delivery and I have found nothing.
I seem to be on my own here .... Not been able to contact the hospital cos I've been dealing with morning sickness.
But just to ask one last time. Does anyone know anyone that knows anyone that knows any mum who had her baby in Alaska?
Meanwhile does anyone know anything about Minneapolis and Washington Seattle POE? Seems like the few airlines that route Alaska come into the US through that POE and we move on to Alaska from these POEs.
Please advice. Thanks

Hi everyone,
Learning a lot from this forum. Thanks a lot.
I want to ask for something though it sounds silly. I want to start contacting Doctors in Alaska via email. Please can I have a draft of a letter to be sent to the doctors. I'm JJC / first timer. I don't even know what the content of the email to the doctors should be. How do I introduce myself, where am I calling /emailing from? What do I want to do? Do they take deliveries of foreigners. I'm entirely confused. Please can anyone help with a draft. Please don't say asking jamb question o. Na the pregnancy cause am lol. Thanks a lot
