Hello house, Please I would like to apply for a Canadian visa for next may. I would like to visit and possibly use it for child birth later. I’m worried and confused Cos of the rate of rejections people are reporting nowadays
I would like to state that I went to Canada in 2011 and stayed for 10 days. I never renewed since then. I also also collected US visa(2years each) about 5times. Uk visa about 5times too. All my visas are currently expired. I would like to know if 1) can I apply now even though I don’t know anyone in Canada to invite me and I just want to state I’m going on holiday next year April /May 2021 2) what are my chances please? 3) I will be sponsoring myself, I’m married. However, how much will need to be in the account on the average for better chances. 4) what is the average processing time? I saw 8 months somewhere... Do you really think It can take 8months? |

Good day, please I’m trying to get a Canadian tourist visa online. I don’t know any one in Canada, what are my chances without a letter of invite even though I have good travel history to US and UK. Can I just say I’m going on Christmas holiday ? Also can I apply now online? What are my chances of getting a visa considering COVID-19. Thanks |

Hello everyone, been reading up on this post for a while. I am a mum who had her baby in the US 3years ago. I have since renewed my us visa and travelled a couple of times. However I intend to start Planning a second child in a few months. I intend to get a Canadian visa with all this buhaha going on in US. I had a Canadian visa once in 2011 and I never renewed. Now I want to plan way ahead. Will starting my visa application now make sense since I’m planning next year for birthing by God’s Grace. I heard Canadian visa can take between 4weeks to 7months. Since I’m not pregnant yet, I was hoping to apply now for holidays. Get my visa, go on holidays and come back and keep the visa for birthing. How many years do they generally give on Canadian visas now ? |

Sunshine1980: I can see people are still misrepresenting this issue. The issue is straight forward. People should read the actual policy document and not the false intepretations that are tailored to what ever intended purposes.
The B2 visa is generally used for tourism, pleasure and medical treatment. What the new policy says is that having a baby in the USA will no longer be classified as use of the Visa for pleasure purposes. Having baby in the USA will now be classified as use of visa for medical treatment and the consular officer will evaluate the applicant as required. You cannot just show up and say I wish to have my baby in the US as before. Now you need a strong medical reason for going to the US to have your baby and also evidence you can pay for the medical services. All these are with respect to your visa interview with consular officer and not the POE.
The rule also does not affect the POE CBP officers in any way. Please read excerpt from the federal register below for reference.
'SUMMARY: The Department of State, Bureau of Consular Affairs (“Department”), is amending its regulation governing the issuance of visas in the “B” nonimmigrant classification for temporary visitors for pleasure. This rule establishes that travel to the United States with the primary purpose of obtaining U.S. citizenship for a child by giving birth in the United States is an impermissible basis for the issuance of a B nonimmigrant visa. Consequently, a consular officer shall deny a B nonimmigrant visa to an alien who he or she has reason to believe intends to travel for this primary purpose. The Department does not believe that visiting the United States for the primary purpose of obtaining U.S. citizenship for a child, by giving birth in the United States – an activity commonly referred to as “birth tourism”–is a legitimate activity for pleasure or of a recreational nature, for purposes of consular officers adjudicating applications for B nonimmigrant visas. The final rule addresses concerns about the attendant risks of this activity to national security and law enforcement, including criminal activity associated with the birth tourism industry, as reflected in federal prosecutions of individuals and entities involved in that industry. The final rule also codifies a requirement that B nonimmigrant visa applicants who seek medical treatment in the United States must demonstrate, to the satisfaction of the consular officer, their arrangements for such treatment and establish their ability to pay all costs associated with such treatment. The rule establishes a rebuttable presumption that a B nonimmigrant visa applicant who a consular officer has reason to believe will give birth during her stay in the United States is traveling for the primary purpose of obtaining U.S. citizenship for the child. DATES: This rule is effective on [insert date of publication in Federal Register]. FOR FURTHER INFORMATION CONTACT: Megan Herndon, Deputy Director for Legal Affairs, Office of Visa Services, Bureau of Consular Affairs, Department of State, 600 19th St. NW, Washington, DC 20006, (202) 485-7586.
SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: I. What changes to 22 CFR 41.31 does this rule make? This rule makes certain changes to the Department’s regulation on B nonimmigrant visas, but does not change Department of Homeland Security regulations regarding the admissibility of aliens, including Visa Waiver Program travelers, or otherwise modify the standards enforced by officials of the Department of Homeland Security. The Department is revising the definition of “pleasure” and subdividing 22 CFR 41.31(b)(2) into three paragraph levels. The Department is retaining its existing, and longstanding, general rule that pleasure, as referred to in Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) section 101(a)(15)(B), 8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(15)(B), for purposes of visa issuance, refers to legitimate activities of a recreational character, including tourism, amusement, visits with friends or relatives, rest, medical treatment, and activities of a fraternal, social, or services nature. The Department is also adding a provision that provides, for purposes of visa issuance, that the term pleasure, as used in INA 101(a)(15)(B), 8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(15)(B), does not include travel for the primary purpose of obtaining United States citizenship for a child by giving birth in the United States. The Department is renumbering this provision as paragraph (i).
The Department is adding a provision that provides that a nonimmigrant B visa applicant seeking medical treatment in the United States shall be denied a visa under INA section 214(b), 8 U.S.C. 1184, if unable to establish, to the satisfaction of a consular officer, a legitimate reason why he or she wishes to travel to the United States for medical treatment, and that a medical practitioner or facility in the United States has agreed to provide treatment. Additionally, the applicant must provide the projected duration and cost of treatment and any incidental expenses. The applicant must also establish to the satisfaction of the consular officer that he or she has the means and intent to pay for the medical treatment and all incidental expenses, including transportation and living expenses, either independently or with the pre-arranged assistance of others. If an applicant’s responses to this line of questions are not credible, that may give consular officers reason to question whether the applicant qualifies for a visa in the B nonimmigrant classification, and could lead to additional questions as to whether the applicant intends to timely depart the United States, or intends to engage in other impermissible activity. The Department is renumbering this provision as paragraph (ii). ' Yeah now the question is if I get a B1/B2 visa today and next year I get pregnant and go to the US, then at the POE I say , “ my purpose of entering the US is to birth” does the officer have the right to turn me back ? Since I didn’t get a the visa for birthing in the first place |

Stephenmoka4: There are other visa category that last at least a year, however the denial rate is the problem. You may apply for visit visa with your partner (six months is the visa duration and must be without child inside you) if you are granted the visa, you can extend it to six months(extension might be a little bit rough as you are to show reason for extension, you should be pregnant by this time) which total one year. However this would be a very expensive method as the living cost for a year in US is relatively high. You are right. It’s better to just stay away and do the right thing. Thanks |

I remember when I got preggers 3 months postpartum my mil saw me crying and depressed and d first question she asked is if I was raped? She said I did it with my Koro Koro eyes... someone even asked me or rather said in shock and kinda mocking me too "so you've started doing... You can't even wait to heal" Dr's gave 6 weeks of vjayjay rest. I dinor have a tear... See me see kwanter... I and hubby are young and vibrant see wahala.
At least birth year will b 2015 and 2017 I'm just finding ways to encourage myself... It's not easy dealing with being pregnant with an infant. my baby yaf not clock 8 months o. But I wasn't raped I did it with my clear eyes.. Even though our method failed us.
on a serious note Withdrawal method fails o... If u are not ready especially those of you with twins gaan do family planning... Lol it kinda works, it's just that some peoples body can be extremely fertile right after delivery (1st six months) plus your hormones aren't stable yet, your cycle isn't stable either. Lol my dear just tell people it's the kind of spacing you want between your children. |

firsttymum: Same here the only person that knows is my mum. U gave birth august... I gave birth November.. Edd is jan/Feb.
To think I got pregnant early this year when my baby was just 3 months ... My kids wld have been exactly one year apart.
I have to keep this one o! Before God gets angry with me... At least this one better small.. Chai no b small shame o... In my own case I'm a medical doctor.
I know my dad will say " u just wanna fill every where with children... Are u a chicken?" Chai In all honesty, I know it's a blessing but every time I think of the possibility of this happening fear grips my heart so much I start having palpitations. Just the thought that one can get pregnant almost immediately. I had a colleague who got pregnant like 4months after her 2nd baby, she wept for 2weeks. It can be scary especially if you are doing a program where being pregnant may set you back a couple of years. |

omoba88: Hi once again, since we didn't declare she was pregnant during our interview can she travel alone now for the vacation then come back before i join her on the baby birth trip around october provided the letter of change of intent comes with a favorable response? Also i need to ask her chances at the POE considering her baby bump should be around 22weeks at the time I want her to go for the vacation//// I'll appreciate your advices. 1st of, I can't really say I blame you for your decision not to declare, I was ignorant once ... I did a drop box renewal(not b2) before I got pregnant but somewhere in my heart I knew I would use it for child birth along the way. The mistake has been made and that's fine. It's a good idea to travel for vacation I did so around 19weeks. My pregnancy wasn't showing... She can use the period of the vacation to go to the hospital she intends to birth in, choose a doctor, go for appointments, get necessary documents and even make payments. After this, when she intends to go on the final leg of the missionary journey , she can then do a notification of intent rather than a change of intent. Just my 2cents... Good luck |

My point is, it can irk anyone if you are coming across a bit shady. You are obviously not straight forward if you tell me you saw a package and you cannot state correctly the name of the hospital or city in which you saw the package. What am I to do and how do I help? Please correct me if I'm wrong |

(No offense please)So I can understand that some people on here may be agents or they are not trying to source information for their personal use only. This is fine!! BUT the very least you can do is to be truthful when you PM someone. I got 3 Pms and I think it's the same person.. I stalked two(out of the three who PMed me) of the Users on this thread and realized it's the same person.. They are not even active on here. Alaska is a very small place (infrastructure wise) and they are only a hand full of hospitals here.. People (indigenes) travel from small villages in Alaska to come have their babies in the major cities in Alaska. So when you PM me saying you saw a package in Alaska for a certain amount and I ask you which hospital (in what city) and you say a hospital that doesn't exist in Alaska ( and you can't even give the name of the city) then I really don't know what to do to you or your PM lol. First of, there's really no package in Alaska, you have to pay hospital bills separately from doctors bill, from pediatrician and from labs. Nobody will give you a package inclusive of all. I had to make a trip before this trip to find out all these. I even posted my findings (on this thread) from that initial trip... I'm sorry if I'm not making sense right now or if I am coming across as harsh, I'm extremely hormonal at the moment. My point is just ask me in a truthful way and I will be more than willing to help...... No need for dilly dally please. Thanks! |
