theiky:Yes they are gradually getting back to “regular “ now. Mine was a regular renewal. But I picked December as travel date. I only picked an interview date in March cos that’s the only date I saw. Anyway, I’m sure the three that got approved were renewals, don’t know if there were renewals in the 20 something rejected sha |
theiky:It was. I never thought I’d be taken back to student days. This was about 8years ago. Plus I’ve been renewing through drop box for a while now. Interview brought back some tension. |
oluayebenz:30 people in front of me only about 3 got approved. If na you, you go fear too o. |
Had my appointment and my visa was approved. My second renewal since birthing. But the first was by Dropbox. I’m not pregnant by the way. A lot of people were rejected. As usual there was a VO rejecting almost everyone and I was praying not to be sent there. We were all standing in front of the VOs. I was the last on the queue. At some point it was a lady and I left there other people behind us were still taking finger prints. It was the lady’s turn but the VO directly in front of us asked me to come to him and he sent the lady to another VO. The VO who called on me wasn’t the one Viciously rejecting people but he just rejected the 3 People before me My transcript: VO: *cracks an initial joke and laughs Me: *laughing even though I didn’t hear what he said Me: good morning VO : good morning, how are you today Me: im ok , how about yourself? VO: I’m great ... so why are you going to the US Me: holiday VO: how long? Me: about 3 weeks VO : where are you going Me : *mentions name of city VO: What’s the longest time you spent in the US Me: 5months VO: can you tell me about that? Me: I was on an F1 visa, went as a Graduate student VO: *cuts me short* was that a semester course ? Me: no, it was a two year program , I Came home a lot at every chance I got VO: You were missing home? Me: yes. VO: what school did you go? Me;******* VO: so what countries have you been to asides the US? Me: Canada , UK, Dubai and the US.. oh sorry You Saïd asides the US.. VO: *laughs * yes cos I can see here that you have been to the US a gazillion multiple times ... so tell me about your last trip to the US? Me: I travelled for a week, went on tour(mentioned some tourism attractions in the city I went) , did some shopping. VO: you married? Me: yes VO : how many kids do you have? Me: A cute little one VO: are you traveling with your husband and child ? Me: not at this time VO: why? Me: I need some me time really... VO: *laughs* some me time? Me: You know what I mean VO : *laughs* yeah I do ... so what do you do for work? Me: I’m a surgeon, I work at ***** I do **** surgeries, reconstruct bla bla (my comfort zone so I spent time there) VO: wow you sound like you really love what you do Me: Yeah , im pretty passionate about it. VO: are you visiting family? Me: no I’m not Vo placed my passport On the blue paper and my heart sunk. Then he says : VO: I won’t be returning your passport at this time cos we have decided to give you A visa. He brought out white paper. Hé was friendly but more friendly with the 2 people He had rejected just before me. So I was nervous. I was worried also cos for every approval there were like 10 rejections. Most approvals were renewals. This was my longest us visa interview. I don’t know why. thank God for everything |

Can someone please respond to this. Please. Is the embassy taking new application for b1/b2 for someone who didn’t have a previous appointment cancelled cos of COVID? Can I apply newly to RENEW a b1/b2 ? Kemo88: |
seyewest:Thank you for your response. My last visa expired in 2019. Please for clarification are you saying the embassy is closed for All b1/b2 visas now or are you saying it’s closed to those who just want to get a new MRV and a new appointment date. Cos on this thread people have been saying they booked appointment for b1/b2. Please can someone clarify this? Thanks a lot. |
Can someone please reply to this thanks. quote author=Kemo88 post=97623725]Good day everyone, Happy new year, I have been trying to follow up on the b1/b2 visa application. On the Embassy website it Says they are processing only limited number of b1/b2 visas. I read through this thread and didn’t see anything on the question I’m about to ask. My question is: 1) I’ve been going to the us since 2009 for holidays. I’m trying to renew my US visa for holidays. I didn’t have a previous appointment , are they taking new appointments? Can I apply newly? Abi what do they mean by limited?? 2) early in 2020 my sister was going to renew but she wanted to attend a conference and the interview (for March) was cancelled due to COVID. Is she going to wait for the embassy to contact her to change her appointment? Or will she schedule an appointment herself. Also, the conference has been cancelled. Should she fill another DS-160 form changing her purpose of travel to holiday? Hope this change of purpose or travel won’t raise a red flag. She’s had several us visas. Some she didn’t even use at all. But na US and one must calculate well. Can the gurus in the house help?[/quote] |

No I haven’t applied. I just want to dapsalmy: |
Thank you for your response, the thing is are they accepting visiting visa application for tourism without any family in Canada ? uzomacl: |
It’s not? Even online? I thought they announced 2weeks ago that it was open. I thought they said you can apply but it won’t be prioritized like those with family. I know there is a travel restriction but I thought since I’m staying april/May 2021 as time of travel the restriction may have been lifted by then oluayebenz: |
Thank you for your response. I’m a Salary earning civil servant in the medical field. Conferences are hard in this period Cos of covid and I can’t move this application any further Cos of the plan of birthing too. Sigh. I’m really confused FYsol: |
Hello house, Please I would like to apply for a Canadian visa for next may. I would like to visit and possibly use it for child birth later. I’m worried and confused Cos of the rate of rejections people are reporting nowadays I would like to state that I went to Canada in 2011 and stayed for 10 days. I never renewed since then. I also also collected US visa(2years each) about 5times. Uk visa about 5times too. All my visas are currently expired. I would like to know if 1) can I apply now even though I don’t know anyone in Canada to invite me and I just want to state I’m going on holiday next year April /May 2021 2) what are my chances please? 3) I will be sponsoring myself, I’m married. However, how much will need to be in the account on the average for better chances. 4) what is the average processing time? I saw 8 months somewhere... Do you really think It can take 8months? |
Thanks you for your response. The problem with conference now is the COVID 19. Most conferences are still via zoom. So with the fact that I have been to Canada before (though the first time was to visit a university in British Columbia) do I still have good chances saying I want to go on vacation? I’m so confused FYsol: |
