Can I blame the diasporians? Our govt are. Not making any effort to invite them home, for instance, let's take d issue of electricity. No one will like in America where there is constant power supply and will think of relocating back to Nigeria. Electricity has crippled so many flourishing bizness, even foreign investors are begining to relocate to SA. Let the govt wake up to its responsibilit by making d country accomodating for all and let's see if these Nigrians in diaspora won't come home. |
Yeah, we. Are More than ready for the so much awaited Rally. This is the time to act TOGETHER WE CAN |

THE SLEEPING GIANTS --- PART 1. Arise o compatriots, Nigeria's call obey, to serve our father land, with love and strength and faith, the labour of our heroes past shall never be in vain, to serve with heart and might. One nation bond in freedom peace and unity. When I read the national anthem, I think what a farce it really is. "To serve our father land, to defend her unity" or rather to defend the govt selfish interest, The labours of past heroes has become a joke and wasted effort. The level of corruption has reach its climax, yet our leaders seems to be unrepentant. Virtually, nothing seems to be working in the most populous black country. Every sector of the nation has been crippled due to selfish and corrupt leadership. The present administration is the most corrupt the nation has ever produced. We often say that" youth are the leaders of tomorrow" but that is not in the Nigeria case. The same set of people ruling since independence still holds power today, from the military junta to the democratic dispensation. The hope of an average Nigerian child has been dashed. Many years ago, in the late 80s, as pupils, we often recite this song," join us, come with us, we are on our Way, education for all by the year 2000".but reverse is the case, almost three decades after, it is still a pipe dream, a white elephant task. The educational sector in the country has become an ERROR.. No qualitative education, the university system is producing half baked graduates. Many years back, October 1993 to be precise, it was rumoured that the world was coming to an end. While other were praying for eternity, as an innocent child that I was, I entered my closet and prayed for the grace to witness year 2000, the so much acclaimed" millennium year" hoping to witness a dramatic change for good in the country. Poor innocent me. According to the 1999 constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria, section 18 states that (1) "the govt shall direct its policy towards ensuring that there are equal and adequate educational opportunities at all levels. (2) Govt shall promote science and technology. (3) Govt shall try to eradicate illiteracy and to this end shall as when practicable provide (a) free, compulsory universal primary education, (b) free university education, (c) free adult literacy programme. But none of this exist today, for instance the free university education. Despite the fact that tertiary education is not free, yet the govt never considers the physical and psychological welfare of the student. presently ASUU had been on strike for almost four months cos the govt had failed to honour the agreement it willingly entered into. Did president Jonathan not agree with the details when the late president Yaradua signed it. It is honourable on the part of the govt to honour her part of the agreement. These people (ASUU) are advocating for better universities for and in Nigeria though the movement may be selfish, however if it is materialised the fate of our universities will change for good. As an undergraduate of mass communication, having spent Five years in school, I never saw the four walls of a broadcasting studio yet I majored in broadcasting, all we were thought was theory no practical to back it up. I am not justifying ASUU embarking on strike action yet we can't deny that they are fighting for the sustenance of the Nigerian universities so that half baked graduates will not litter the labour market. After three months of the action, the only solution the govt could prof er is "no work no pay". This brings to mind the Biafran war, why feed the enemy. What a joke to a crucial issue. No work no pay, no matter how honourable it seems isn't the solution. The solution is the implementation of signed agreement and ensuring its maintenance. Section (16), sub section (2) of the 1999 constitution states that "the state shall direct its policy towards ensuring ( a) economic system is not operated in such a manner as to permit the concentration of wealth or the means of production and exchange in the hands of few individuals or a group yet the fraud committed by Stella Oduah, the aviation minister and so many others in the past has been swept under the carpet, (b) that suitable and adequate shelter, suitable and adequate food, reasonable national minimum living wage, old age care, pension, unemployment, sick benefits and welfare of the disabled are provided for all citizens, but today, reverse is the case. Wheels of leadership and the means of production has been center ed ocvn a particular set of class. Ordinary citizens are not given fair opportunity. It has become a paddy paddy syndrome or rather put godfather ism has become the order of the day. Citizen are been deprived of basic social amenities such as good roads, access to free and quality health care, security etc. Nigerian roads has become death zones, no means of transportation is safe anymore, our aviation sector is nothing to write home about. Funds meant for maintaining the industry has been cyphooned for personal purposes such as buying bullet proof cars that even president Obama of the united states can't afford. Gone are the days one look left and right to cross the road. In present day Nigeria one has to look left, then right then left again, then you look up to confirm an aircraft is not crashing you, then you check the floor so as to avoid bomb explosion then you look back that you won't be kidnapped then finally cross the road moving zig zag to avoid stray bullets from boko baram boys. Security of lives and properties no longer seems to be the function of the govt. It has become an issue of every man for himself yet we pay heavy taxes which can't be accounted for. Many families can't afford a decent meal . Students graduate from schools without hope for a source of livelihood. Since the discovery of crude oil, the Agricultural sector has been neglected. Industrialisation which is fundamental to every developing nation has been abandoned, we import toothpicks from Malaysia, used clothes and shoes from UK and Korea. Banana from cameroon, Apple from Benin republic. Over 40million Nigerians are either unemployed or under employed yet the govt seems to be less concerned. Different groups spring up day in day such as Niger Delta militants, Boko haram etc. If Boko haram had not been suicidal, many graduates from the south west, south east and south would have dropped their resume for application. Job sales has become the other of the day, no enabling environment for upcoming entrepreneurs. Nigeria at 53, yet we seem not to know the way forward. The solution to all these challenges begins with YOU and I. only YOU, YOU, YOU and I can orchestrate it. Change has become a way of life to a better life. President Abraham Lincoln, on the brink of civil war and fighting the near 100yrs of long tradition of slavery in the united States. Lincoln looked at change directly in the eye and said " the dogmas of the quiet past are inadequate for stormy present and future. As our circumstances are new, we must think anew and act anew". And so must we, not simply for today but for generations unborn. We can see the distance of the journey. If we believe, we can change anything even the impossible. Let's lift our hands, raise our flags and scream like we are born to win because I can feel the sign of a Victory For A NEW NIGERIA. It BEGINS WITH YOU AND I. Goldenboy007: Good intention but some questions have not been addressed. Unemployment is a temporary situation and this factor would make defining membership difficult. So boss what happens when you or any of the officials get employed lets say tomorrow?NAUG is a temporary name, the intended name is Association of Nigerian Graduates Against Unemployment. As d name suggest it not limited to unemployed folks.. Its a forum set to reduce unemployment and empower ourselves. Even if u oppose d group cos you are gainfully employed, remember that there arer at least 3 pple associated with you that are unemployed or underemployed. Its a choice |
Promhize: I must not lie, apart from her english which she has improved on, the First lady has tried for women and children all over Africa.if I may ask, in what ways has she used her office to try for women and children in nigeria. Give 5 examples |

He died following a 3day sickness at age 34 Ife, I love you but your creator loves u more. Rest in d bosom of our lord. Your son Ayomide misses u. |

I read with extreme interest thru all d comments and I appreciate everyone dt has taken d pain of contributing either positively or negatively. The fact that u saw, read and commented is a sign that come one day, d voices of the vulnerable will be heard in this country. To that dt feels d association is a bunch of crap, I want u all to know that not everyone in ds group is unemployed. The association is formed as a yardstic for the unemployed voices to be heard. If u feel ure gainfully employed, I can bet with u that there are at least three people associated with u that are not. We see different anti govt groups spring ing up such as niger delta militant, boko haram among others. The main cause of ds grp is poverty. They all are educated but cos they ve no source of livelihood, they ve taken to d guns. Another aim of d association is to motivate d youths in the area of self empowerment provided there is an enabling enviroment. Few years back, I had a set back in my bizness and I was thrown into d labour market. For three years I roamed d street of lagos without a job and I had a son depending on me, eventually someone decided to give me an oFfer but at a price of intimate relationship which I rejected.some other lady wouls have accepted due to d desperation and the same society would tag her a "prositute". During this time I learnt to make liquid soap, insecticides and d likes but d production was limited due to nafdac requirement. I proceeded to nafdac office but that dream was shortlived cos nafdac requirement would cost me nothing lesser than a million naira. I still pressed further by writing. A bisiness plan inviting investors but what they all ask was how much I had to contribute. The essence of witing this is to tell us their is no enabling enviroment for upcoming and small scale enterpreneur. The society would have labelled such person a lazy fellow. The fact that a person has d capital to start something doesn't mean every one has.the youth has come out to voice their challenges we need not castigate thhem, feel their pain and if u can't don't condemn them. Don't forget dt an idle mind is d devils workshop . Peace |
We need to look at this old issue of unemployment in a new way, not simply for today but to make our tomorrow more rewarding. A saying goes thus" as you lay your bed, so you lie on it". We need to start getting it right. Cos architects cannot renovate it, business can't incorporate it, churches can't inculacate it, developers can't innovate it, engineers can't calculate it, goverment can't legislate it, judges can't adjudicate it, lawyers can't litigate it, politicians can't appropriate it, scientist can't formulate it , technicians can't can't generate it , only YOU can ORCHESTRATE it. It begins with YOU and ME. Together WE CAN ACHIEVE it.Take a bold step today, support NAUG today byfollowing us on our twitter, facebook, nairaland and whatsapp pages. Together let's fight job sales and ban importation and make our leaders accountible to us in terms of job provision so as to make NIGERIA a more rewarding, more compelling and more fulfilling place for us and generations unborn. PEACE |

Pls nlers, also support dt d name be changed to NGMAU. National Graduate movement Against Unemployment, cos not everyone here his unemployed. There re some of us living on one skill or d other while trying to get a white collar job. We can't call them unemployed Also with ds name, it ll open doors for some corporate stakeholders to identify with us. Wit ds name it will open doors for anyone to be a part of and not linmited to uneployed graduates alone. In conclusion , I ll suggest we use d national stadium as d venue |
Its a good initiative, I suggest it shoud be done in each state.my bb pin is 287E19F4. From lagos |

just wondering, in a relationship, a guy tells a lady i love you and d lady responds with i love u too. but in a case where d lady does not love the guy and does not want to hurt his feelings, how will she respond |
we entered the office and met the occupants, two ladies." hi, eve,' they both chorused. where is dr dre she asked ands another voice from underneath a table answered, "here i am'. i couldnt see his face cos he seems to be fixing something on the cpu which wason the pedestrial drawer under the table.i ll like you to meet spomeone evelyn said impatiently. at that, he stopped whatever it was he awas doing and stood up facing me directly. lo and behold, dr dre was the same guy who i spoked angrily to earlier. i was shocked to the bone, i couldnt believe my eyes. i just stood there motionless, confused and not knowing what to do. he sensed my situation and i could see a devlish grin on the corner of his mouth. he held out his hand for an handshake but all i could do was to stare back at him. i had never felt so embarrassed in my life. what am i going to do?, should i apologise for my earlier unruly baehaviour?, should i just walk out and forget about his help?. these were the things going on in my mind. i needed his help badly, besides he was my freinds brother. evelyn came to my rescue, have u guys met before she asked no one in particular and his brother anwered "something like that". he held out his hand again and said "to a new begining'. "to a new begining' i replied shyly offering his handshake that same day he coollected my documents and promised to call me the following day after he must have finished with the registration. trrue to his words, he called me around evening time to meet him at the admin building the following day and handed me my admission file. i am now a bonafide student i said hugging him. he was surprised at my behaviour but just smiled it off, |
Mynd_44: Paragraphs. Caps comes after fullstops and add some punctuations too so it will be easier on the eyesthanks, i ll take note |
as they say, each day comes with its own adventure. it was my first day on campus, the day looks promising though i had alot to do with my registration and all the admission stuff. i was hurriedly working towardss the senate building with the sun scorching heavily on me. i had my handbag on my left shoulder, a polythene file on my right hand containing my admission documents, like i said it ws my first day and it was a different and entirely new community to me as i hurried along, lost in my thoughts, i suddenly became concious of my enviroment and noticed a dark maroon gold toyota camry car moving slowly very close to me. i paused for a moment giving attention to the sweet masculine voice coming from the driver,"helo pretty, hope you woldnt mind me giving you a lift to wherever you may be going'.". "thanks, i mind" i stubbornly replied. he was taken back by my response but managed to put up a smile. " i mean no harm" he was trying to say but i cut him mid sentence and shouted angrily at him "na by force person dey take enter lift". i hissed and walked away angrily. i was so annoyed, i have just two days to complete my registration process i got to the senate building and the crowd of jambites like my self waiting to be attended to was really terrifying. how on earth am i going to complete this registration tomorrow, i said to no one in particular. as i waited patiently for my turn on the queue, a lady walked up to me smiling radiantly, her face looks familair but i could not place where i had met her baefore. "oyinkansola baby, is this really you", she walked up to me trying to give me a hug. i smiled back hugging her still trying to figuere who she was. "its me sis", I REPLIED BUT I CANT REALLY RECOLLECT THE FACE I FINALLY HAD TOadmit. she was surprised, paused for a moment and took a deep brathe, "you mean you really cant remember me, evelyn adetokunbo lawrence". at the mention of that name i screamed and jumped at her. she was my childhood freind, we lived in the same neighbourhood back then at agege in lagos, we did everything together back then and we were fondly referred b tgoas twins from different mothers. evelyn hails from imo state and from a wealthy and influential family, she was the second child in a family of three and the only daughter in the family. ten years ago, she lost her dad and the mum had to relocate to england where her family was based and sice then every contact with her was lost. evelyn had grown into a very pretty young lady, at age nineteen, she was a paragon of beauty and she had just been admitted to sturdy mass communication just like myself at olabisi onabanjo university, ago iwoye in ogun state. she was already through with her registration, she claimed her elder brother dare who was a 400level medical student who was famous with the administrative staffs had helped with her registration.as a matter of fact, dare is in the building she said pointing to a block of offices close to us and at the same time dragging me towards the building. he caN ASSIST YOU AS WELL SHE ANNOUNCED. we got to a door, she knocked and a voice answered from inside come in if you are beautiful and loaded. |
I have been trying to get some writings done but its not ben easy penning the visions as they come. this is my first story here and i would really love it to be corrected and if possible criticised cos i believe criticsms brings out the best in you. tnx all as u follow |
