According to report reaching us, there was chaos in Unwana Afikpo North LGA of Ebonyi state today, 21st February, 2020 as counselorshop election held in Unwana town hall ended in violence when a man was shot, a lodge occupied by students of Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic, Unwana was set on fire, a student was burnt in the process, and fire ravaged properties into ashes.

According to one of the youths who spoke on condition of anonymity, the landlord of the lodge (popularly called Eze Ogo) who happens to be the Local Government cordinator in Unwana ward shot someone during the election, this led the angry youths of the ward into violence. The angry mob proceeded to a lodge which belongs to Eze Ogo and set it on fire without considering the students who were inside the apartment.

The flame and smoke from the building was much as a result of the high rate of fire, two rooms and properties of students were destroyed and burnt to ashes in the lodge which is located close the ward market popularly called "Big Market" in Unwana. Efforts was made by neighboring lodges and some SUG officials present during the incident to put off the fire. No life was lost in the fire incident, but a student who was inside one of the rooms was seriously burnt and was immediately rushed to the school medical center for treatment and is still in a critical condition.

One thing good about a bad thing is that it does not last!

The deputy candidate should have been disqualified without touching the governor-elect. In the case of James Faleke vs Yahaya Bello, the Supreme Court agreed with APC that a dead candidate can be substituted even after the election. So, why can’t the same apply in this case?

Democracy should be about the people and not about the justices of the Supreme Court. At worst, the court should have ordered another election just like it did in Bauchi some years back when the deputy governor was disqualified. The people should be the ones deciding who rules them and not some justices somewhere.

Sadly, the people’s decision was not considered at all by the justices of the Supreme Court. David Lyon won the election clearly, he should never have been denied the right fruit of his victory simply because of a technical issue.

That technical issue is exactly what kept our country where it is today!
In this case, the technical issue could have been prevented or even avoided.
Political parties should introduce strong background checks for their candidates. SIMPLE!

First my comment has no relationship with the video.
Secondly, I strongly believe you lack comprehension. Let me me correct you on the bolded. TB Joshua was right on everything damn thing he said in the video. Lyon clearly won the election, not even INEC said otherwise. He was rather unfortunate to run with a fraudulent man just like the dullard occupying Aso Villa. Celebrating the victory was halted pending inauguration which is a very big sign the throne wasn't meant for him.
