A Young man was caught today, 21st of June, 2019 by Edoji Uruagu local Vigilante where was allegedly robbing a poultry.

A Youngman, known as Ebuka Chukwumaeze from Akabo-Edoji Uruagu was caught red-handed when he was stealing a Turkey From poultry located in Edoji Uruagu Nnewi.

In an exclusive interview with anaedoonline.com, a son to the woman whose poultry was robbed said that this is the third time that they have been robbed within a month.

Python ( EKE) is a scared entity in many parts of Igbo land, Nnewi City inclusive.

It is believed to be a guardian “Angel” to many Igbo Communities, thus it’s forbidden to be killed. In most cases, anybody that kills a Python is forced to organise a Burial Ceremony for it.

A young lady by name Chidinma Ofoegbu has taken to her Facebook timeline to express her disappointment towards people who kill Python known as Eke in Igbo Land

Chidinma, while expressing disappointment, claimed that Python is a sacred animal and a messenger of the gods and this is why some villagers don’t kill it up till today.

No fewer than 5 persons sustained various degrees of burnt as a gas explosion rocked SPAR continental store known as ‘Port Harcourt Mall’, on Wednesday in Port Harcourt.

Confirming the incident to Journalists via WhatsApp message Wednesday night, Rivers State Police Command Public Relation Officer, Nnamdi Omoni said the explosion occurred at the Kitchen Section of the Mall.

He said five persons sustained various degrees of burnt and were receiving medical attention at the Braithwaite Memorial Specialist Hospital (BMSH), Port Harcourt.

The Commissioner of Police in Imo, Rabiu Ladodo, said the command had arrested one Eze Ajoku, a 63-year-old man in Agwa, Oguta LGA who specialized in fabricating guns.

The CP who disclosed this on Wednesday said the suspect was among the 22 others arrested, including a serving police Inspector, for various crimes ranging from armed robbery, kidnapping, cultism and illegal possession of firearms.

He listed items recovered from the fabricating factory to include one locally made pistol, one 9MM live ammunition, two double barrel pipes, and eight single barrelled pipes.

A ghastly motor accident occurred this morning in front of the St Peter Catholic church at Oko Police station off Dr. Alex Ekwueme’s residence along Umunze road Oko.

The accident which involved a tipper and a tricycle, took the lives of three passengers that were in the tricycle at the time of this accident.

Two of the casualties died instantly while the other two which includes the Keke driver were seriously injured.

According to an eyewitness account, the tipper man was on a high speed when he ran over the Keke, while trying to overtake another tipper and knocked the tricycle into the gutter, crushing all the occupants.

One of the dead casualties, a female, was identified as Ogechi from Abakiliki, a final year student of Federal Polytechnic Oko while the second person identified as Mma Emma from Nsukka was said to be a woman selling food close to Oko poly.

It was gathered that the tipper driver and his bus conductor took to their heels and ran into the nearest police station after the accident. Consequently, angry spectators wanted to set the tipper on fire, but the police intervened and took the tipper to their station.

Sixteen members of the Adesina Likoyi family of Moloko Ashipa in Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State have disowned their kinsman, a Coronet Oba, Oba Nureni Nosiru in the town.

The family in a petition signed by the 16 members, addressed to the State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, dated June 1, 2019, said the emergence of Oba Nosiru was unknown to them as members of the family.

The aggrieved members of the family said, Oba Nosiru was not the choice of the family and that the family was caught unaware of his choice as the Coronet Oba in the town.

The embattled Oba Nosiru was among the 75 Baales to Coronet Obas by the immediate past governor of the state, Ibikunle Amosun, towards the end of his administration

No fewer than 19 people lost their lives on Saturday following a road accident on the Akure/Owo highway.

The passengers, who were burnt beyond recognition were said to be in transit to the northern part of the country through Ondo State where the accident occurred.

It was gathered that the accident occurred at the Oba-Ile axis of the road in Akure North Local Government Area of the state when a bus had a head-on collision with a truck.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to apologize to the residents of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), for branding them ‘necessary evil’ because they did not vote for him in the February 23 Presidential election.

Buhari had, during the Sallah visit of some stakeholders from FCT on Tuesday, ‘jokingly’ described Abuja residents as ” necessary evil”, saying, though they didn’t vote for him, he would do his best to protect them.

But the PDP, which got the chunk of the presidential votes in FCT, felt the statement was “un-presidential” and “divisive” in nature.

Kola Ologbondiyan, the National Publicity Secretary of the party, at a press briefing on Wednesday, said the President must apologize to FCT residents.

Yesterday I miraculously survived an accident.

I left Lagos yesterday heading to the east just before I got to Ore about 100-120km, my car lost control and started veering off to the right. I tried to steer it back on track and the next thing I knew I was upside down, tumbling till the car finally ended up in a gutter.

President Muhammadu Buhari has described residents of the federal capital territory (FCT) as “necessary evil” for voting the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the last general election.

Speaking when a delegation of FCT residents paid him Sallah homage at Aso Rock on Tuesday, the president said he is putting necessary measures in place to make Abuja secure for “myself and the vice-president”.

The National Examination Council (NECO) has scrapped the use of scratch cards, for the conduct of its Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE).


Chairman of the NECO board, Abubakar Saddiq, confirmed this on Friday during the commissioning of the equipment and unveiling of 20 Toyota Hilux Vans purchased by the agency, in Minna, Niger State.


Saddiq disclosed that they have procured 8,000 biometric machines, for registration of candidates during the conduct of its examinations.

The Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi has granted Nigerian Musician Azeez Fashola bail to the sum of two million naira, two sureties.


At the resumed bail application, his lead defense counsel Olalekan Ojo urged the court to accept the bail application Prima Facie based on the presumption of his innocence in accordance with Section 162 (1)


The defense also pleaded that a liberal approach is taken in hearing the bail application.

Nigerians are expecting President Muhammadu Buhari to deal with certain things during his term in office. These are some of those things.
Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari officially begins his second and final term on Wednesday following his re-election in February.
Despite his large winning margin, the next four years won’t be easy for the 76-year-old former general. Here are some of the key issues he’ll face while at the helm of Africa’s biggest oil producer and most populous nation.

1. Growth and Inflation

Nigeria’s economic growth has slumped since the 2014 crash in crude prices and Buhari is struggling to revive it. The International Monetary Fund forecasts that gross domestic product will expand 2.1% this year, which would make Nigeria one of Africa’s slowest-growing economies and mean that growth is negative in per capita terms. Inflation is at 11.4% and has been above the central bank’s target of 6% to 9% for almost four years.
Since so few Nigerians and companies pay tax, the nation has one of the lowest revenue-to-GDP ratios in the world at about 7%. That leaves the government with little money to spend on schools, hospitals, and infrastructure. Officials are also concerned about how much of the budget is soaked up by interest payments. In March, the Debt Management Office told Bloomberg it will avoid Eurobonds and instead prioritize concessional loans from the likes of the World Bank to lower its finance costs.

3. The Naira
Foreign investors’ biggest gripe over the past four years was how Nigeria handled the naira in the wake of the oil crisis. Central bank Governor Godwin Emefiele, who Buhari just re-appointed for a second term, ramped up capital controls in a bid to stop the currency depreciating. There’s a system of multiple exchange rates in place that critics, including the IMF, say is opaque and deters investment. Many also say that central bank meddling has left the naira overvalued: Renaissance Capital estimates it should be about 20% weaker against the dollar.

4. Foreign Investment

A slump in foreign direct investment since the early part of the decade has accelerated under Buhari, whose administration has come into conflict with companies including MTN Group Ltd. and JPMorgan Chase & Co. Last year, FDI flows into Nigeria totaled just $2.2 billion, less than a third of the amounts South Africa and Egypt attracted.
