A commercial motorcyclist was Today, Monday, 15th April 2019, crushed to death by a heavy duty truck in Nnewi.

The incident occurred at about 1.30pm around Etiaba Road Inyaba Umudim Nnewi.


According to reports made available to Anaedoonline by an eyewitness Emeka Obiefuna, the driver of the heavy-duty truck who was answering calls while driving suddenly left his lane and veered into the other lane thereby leading to the unfortunate accident which caused the life of the Okada rider.

Emeka Obiefuna also confirmed to Anaedoonline that the policemen From CPS who arrived few minutes after the accident scene chose to arrest the driver of the truck rather than trying to save the life of the man who appeared to be breathing when they arrived.

According to him, before the men of the Federal road safety arrived, the deceased had already given up the ghost.


According to another eye witness, it was confirmed that the Okada Man hails from Ukpor in Nnewi South Local Government Area.

Justice Adedayo Akintoye of a Lagos High Court sitting in Igbosere, on Monday, issued a bench warrant for the arrest of a former Super Eagles captain, Augustine Okocha, aka Jay Jay Okocha, over alleged tax evasion.

Justice Akintoye made the order following Okocha’s alleged failure to settle a 2017 income tax evasion case brought against him by the Lagos State Government.

On January 29, 2019, the same court ordered Okocha’s arrest for failing severally to appear in court to defend himself on the allegation of tax evasion brought against him.

The prosecutor, Dr. Jide Martins had on June 6, 2017, filed the charge and when the case came up for hearing on October 5, 2017

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) on Friday destroyed unsafe and unwholesome products seized by the agency, worth over N2 billion, at Oke-Diya Dumpsite, #Sagamu, #Ogun State.

Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, Director-General of the Agency told newsmen during the destruction exercise that 189 trucks conveyed the unsafe and unwholesome drugs — the highest ever recorded by NAFDAC — to the destruction venue.

“This destruction exercise, which is in line with our strategy, is aimed at eradicating the re-introduction of expired, Substandard and Falsified (SFs) medical products, as well as unsafe and unwholesome NAFDAC regulated products into circulation in Nigeria.

Three Students of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri ( FUTO ) are dead, with one hospitalized at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC ) Owerri, after allegedly consuming some substances in large proportion.


Three guys and a lady met their Waterloo yesterday at Sunshine Castle Hostel, Umuchima, ihiagwa Community, Owerri North LGA, Imo state after taking a mixture of tramadol, codeine, vodka and India hemp.


According to a Local Vigilante Mr Opara, three of them died instantly, while the girl who was unconscious was moved to Federal Medical Centre Owerri and placed on life support at FMC.

“They were all found naked, one was with a bathing soap in his hand, the other lying on top of the lady among them, the room was filled with a bottle of codeine, packets of tramadol, India hemp and vodka drink.”

An organization of Nigerian Community living in South Africa has said that eight of its members abducted by South Africans in Evander, North-West of Secunda in Mpumalanga Province of that country were released early on Wednesday.

Mr Adetola Olubajo, the President of Nigerian Union in South Africa, told the News Agency of Nigeria on the telephone from Pretoria that the abducted Nigerians were released following pressure by the union on the South African authorities

Olubajo said that Nigerians at Evander in Mpumalanga Province had informed the union about attacks on Nigerians in that province“According to witnesses and one of the survivors, Evander locals went on a rampage in the early hours of April 2 and attacked businesses and property owned by Nigerians
“The mob arrested eight Nigerians and took them to an unknown destination,’’ he told NAN
Olubajo said that the union had informed the Nigerian mission in South Africa about the incident, urging them to intervene and put an end to the attacks on Nigerians

An anonymous source has confided in Anaedoonline.com the grand plot by the Senator-Elect of Anambra South, Chief Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah to dump the Young Progressive Party (YPP) on which he won the senatorial election of Anambra South and decamp to the All Progressive Congress (APC).

According to the source, it was understood that President Buhari had personally called Ifeanyi Ubah to come into the APC and has even given him his first assignment which is to deliver the APC candidate in Lagos State, Sanwo-Olu, who is currently having a problem with the Igbo voters in Lagos.

To be able to get Igbo voters to vote the Lagos APC candidate, Ifeanyi Ubah has allegedly been conscripted to revive his Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria, TAN, to use it to rally the Igbos based in Lagos.

In a press release on Monday, March 4th, 2019, by the Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria, which was personally signed by Ifeanyi Ubah, TAN was quoted as saying, “The Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria (TAN) hereby endorses the candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for the Lagos State Gubernatorial elections slated for Saturday, 9th of March, 2019”.


Ifeanyi Ubah, as understood, will relocate to Lagos to rally round the Igbo voters to vote massively for Sanwo-Olu as against the PDP candidate, Jimi Agbaje.

The source also confirmed that Ifeanyi Ubah will decamp to APC alongside his political son, Dr. Obinna Ngonadi, who is the YPP candidate for Anambra State House of Assembly, Nnewi North Constituency.

A political stakeholder in Nnewi, Chief Gabriel Chukwuma, has advised Nnewi people to approach the February 16 presidential, Senate and House of Representative elections with wisdom so that the community will not miscalculate and sabotage the political future of the town.

Chukwuma, the chairman of Nnewi United Football Club (formerly Gabros International), said he was not comfortable with the Nnewi Stakeholders Meeting held on Sunday, February 10, in Nnewi, Anambra State, where the convener, Dr. Cletus Ibeto encouraged Nnewi voters to turn out in great numbers on February 16, to support Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, YPP, and Chris Emeka Azubogu, PDP, for senatorial and House of Representative aspirations, respectively.

Chukwuma, who claimed that he was not aware of the stakeholders meeting in Nnewi, said that though Azubogu, Ubah, and Moghalu are illustrious sons of Nnewi, yet, a candidate like Azubogu should be considered for general endorsement by Nnewi people, "while the duo of Ubah and Moghalu, who are not major contenders in the positions they pursue, should be traded for the political future of the industrial city.

Speaking exclusively with Anaedooline in his Uru Umudim, Nnewi, country home, Chukwuma suggested that since other council areas are involved in senatorial and House of Reps elections, Nnewi should make others to support its House of Representatives candidate, Chris Azubogu; so that Nnewi will, in turn, support a senatorial candidate from, say, Olds Aguata region, so that in 2022, when Nnewi will be campaigning for governorship position, when the slot comes to Anambra South, the Old Aguata region will see the reason to support Nnewi.

On the presidential election where an indigene of Nnewi, Prof. Kingsley Moghalu, is also contesting, Chukwuma noted that Nnewi people should not waste their votes in the Young Progressive Party, YPP, but should join other well-meaning Igbo and Nigerians to support the Atiku/Obi ticket.

On the side of the House of Assembly slot for Nnewi State Constituency, Chukwuma suggested that any of the three major contenders in PDP, YPP and APGA that wins the election, will be supported by Nnewi people, since all those contesting are of the same kindred.

NIPCO Petrol Station, cited along Eme Court Road, Nnewi, was gutted by fire on Friday, February 11.

The fire which reportedly started on at about 8.30 am, was allegedly caused by a petrol tanker that was at the station to drop the product.

The assistant manager of the petrol station, who did not want his name published, said that a tanker that was fully loaded with fuel arrived to discharge the product when the fire started.

He said that members of staff of the petrol station made efforts to stop the fire using an extinguisher, but the situation rather became worse.

According to him, "We made efforts to put off the fire but it kept on ragging more fiercely. Two tankers fully loaded with fuel was destroyed. Two motorcycles, generator house, and other valuables were also destroyed.

"Firefighters arrived at about 9.15am and put the situation under control."

The latest of the show which held on Sunday, 30th December 2018, raises a lot of questions and concerns over the sincerity of the organizers. The result of the pageantry show which was scheduled to start by 7 pm but started around 10 pm and ended around 4:30 am of the next morning indeed raised many eyes brows.

Beaming our searchlight on the show has revealed many pathetic developments that are not worthy to be associated with a great town like Nnewi. As gathered from some of the participants, one of the criteria for participation was that every of the contestant must be an indigene of Nnewi. It is surprising to state that only Four (4) out of the thirteen (13) final participants were from Nnewi. This assertion can further be proved from the embarrassing sight of the video interview of the pageants by Anaedoonline.com where the ladies could not speak Igbo, the organizers hurriedly stopped the interview to avoid further embarrassment.

Another issue which calls for a lot of concern remains the issue of selling tickets by the contestants. It appears Ogochukwu Obiefuna is clearly relying on the contestants to sell tickets to enable her to host the show and pay her bills. In that of 2018/2019, the contestants were given tickets worth Two hundred thousand Naira to sell. As gathered, since the show started, it was only contestants that sold the complete tickets eventually emerges winners, yet, Ogochukwu Obiefuna, promised that selling of tickets is never a criterion that determines winners of the competition. This clearly shows that the Most Beautiful Girl in Nnewi is not a competition, rather, it is a show where you pay, sell tickets and win.

If winning the Most Beautiful Girl in Nnewi is about who sells her tickets and not based on idolizing young beauties by giving them platforms to showcase their talents, why do the organizers continue to go soliciting for sponsorship?

For those who were at the venue of the show, if viewed from the obvious, the girl that was declared a winner of the show by all standards never merited the crown. It was shocking to hear that she was declared a winner. Findings proved that the winner engaged in various backdoor activities to be declared a winner.

The winner, Mirabel, as clearly verified is not an indigene of Nnewi, during the camping session which the contestant paid twenty thousand Naira (#20,000), her Mother was the only visitor that was allowed into the camp by the organizers on several occasions, in fact, she was also seen in the camp the particular night the competition was scheduled, yet, relations and friends of other contestants were not given such privilege. It is important to state here that one of the camp rules states that visitors of any kind are not allowed into the camp. So what happened in the case of Mirabel’s Mother?

Clearly, the performances of Mirabel in all the categories of the competition never qualified her to emerge the winner, her emergence really shocked the crowd as those that attended the event registered their dissatisfaction through raising their voices in criticism of the judges.

One the judges of the pageantry who confided to one his friend, registered displeasure over the result, according to the judge, the result presented to the chief judge of the pageantry was not accepted and the chief judge never cared to reconcile with the results of the other two judges.

It was also learnt from a reliable source, that car presented to the winner was never a new car, it was gathered, that Ogochukwu Obiefuna have been driving the car in the streets of Lagos State, months before the competition, a closer look at the car showed that it appears that the car was painted newly.

Truth be told, are the organisers of the Most Beautiful Girl in Nnewi fraudsters? Why are they making promises they can’t fulfil? Is the show a make-believe show that relies on people’s pocket?

From available sources, Ogochukwu Obiefuna does not have any known business she does in Lagos, does it mean that she has decided to turn pageantry which should produce young women who are beautiful, intelligent, socially responsible, and committed to service to humanity to her business venture which is being built on deceit?

The Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ, Anambra State Council, has elected a new set of officers, who will pilot the affairs of the union for the next three years.

The new officers were elected and inaugurated on Thursday, January 17, at the Council Secretariat in Awka, the state capital.

The newly inaugurated executive members were elected unopposed; except the office of the treasurer which was contested between Comrade Beatrice Onuchukwu of the Correspondents Chapel and Comrade Abuchi Onwumelu of the Fides Chapel.
The newly inaugurated officers include Emma Ifesinachi, Chairman; Francis Ekpone, Vice Chairman; Emma Uduagha, General Secretary; Aloysius Ofordile, Assistant Secretary; Ogemdi Ozoemena, Financial Secretary; Abuchi Onwumelu, Treasurer; and Okechukwu Onuegbu, Auditor.

While swearing-in the seven-man exco, Comrade Petrus Obi, Vice Chairman of the NUJ in charge of the Zone C (South East), praised the Anambra State Council for a successful election and inauguration. He tasked council members to lend their support to the new team, while also urging the new exco not to allow their personal interest to override the collective interest of the union.

Speaking on behalf of the new officers, the chairman, Comrade Emma Ifesinachi, pledged that the new executive will sustain the tempo of good leadership and also uphold the integrity of the union by eliminating quackery and raising the image of the profession in Anambra.

Residents of Nkpor community in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State are still living in fears as ritual killings have continued unchecked within the community and its environs; this is even as the gruesome murder of one Mr ThankGod  Arinze Uzoegwu (Mmili Enweilo Nkpor) the proprietor of Delight Inn, Mgbachu-Nkpor; and manufacturer of Home Pal Paint, on 6th December 2018,
has remained a mystery, as no one has been arrested by law the enforcement agencies in connection with the incident.



A community leader in Nkpor, Chief Nwachukwu  Okoye, who spoke over the issue of incessant killings in the town, expressed displeasure and stated that the development has become a source of worry to residents of the community.

He called on law enforcement agencies and the state apparatus to check the bloodletting.

He further recalled that on 8th  January 2019, hoodlums invaded and terrorized the residents of  Central School Road, Nkpor, and later moved to Golden Bar  Hotel, off Ngige Road, Ubaba-Nkpor-Uno; adding that invasion of residents of the community by hoodlums has become a daily occurrence.

He appealed on the Nigerian police to use their good office to track down those ugly trends.

NNEWI UNDER ATTACK FROM ROBBERS

In the last four months, traders and business people along the Ibeto Avenue and Ambassador street, in Nnewi have constantly been terrorized by men of the underworld.

The shops at the Ambassador and Ibeto roads were seen to be under lock and key today, due to the robbery incidents that took place yesterday.

Anaedoonline.com gathered that two men reportedly came about 12 pm yesterday to demand money but the store owners had not sold anything. The two men reportedly said they will come back. By 4:00 pm the same day, the robbers reportedly returned with two extra guys making them four.

They demanded cash again, they were given money but the gang went further to collect mobile phones from the traders around there and took some stocks like shoes and clothes. On their way out they were accosted by the men of the Anambra Vigilante Group (AVG) in the area, two of them got away while the other two were caught.

Some of the traders were seen hanging around the locked shops in groups and the presence of heavy security personnel (police) was seen around the vicinity. The traders who are still living in fear said they will only speak to us anonymously and pled that no pictures of them should be taken.

According to one of the victims, he said “when they come to your shop they use slangs like show me love or drop something. I gave them N1000 they refused, I gave them N1500, they refused, they brought out a gun, and started packing shoes into their bag and clothes. I don’t know whether they sell or wear it. They also took the phones I was charging there”.

The traders lamented that the robbers come to their shops daily, and in broad daylight. The traders complained of losses reaching millions when put together.

Another anonymous source said he was shot on his leg during one of the attacks last year.

“About eight hundred thousand was taken from me in December when they came to rob”, another victim said.

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Niger/Kwara/Kogi Area Command on Thursday said that it intercepted no fewer than seven hundred and thirty-two (732) bags of rice, eleven (11) vehicles and one hundred and seventy-five (175) litres of vegetable oil between January and March this year.


The Customs Area Comptroller for Niger, Kwara and Kogi states, Mr. Yusuf Abba Kassim made this disclosure while addressing a press conference on Thursday in Minna, the Niger state capital.



Kassim while speaking also disclosed that the command generated a total of eight hundred and fourteen million, seven hundred and fifty-five thousand, five hundred and sixty-three Naira eighty-six kobo (N814, 755, 563.86) in three months.

He maintained that the command during the same period recorded a total seizure of 16 comprising rice, vegetable oil and used vehicles with a total DPV put at Nineteen Million One

Kassim said, “On enforcing compliance of smuggling activities, the command recorded a total seizure of sixteen (16) comprising of rice, vegetable oil and used vehicles.

“The breakdown is as follows-: Seven hundred and thirty-two (732) bags of rice 50kg each with duty paid value (DPV) of 13, 510,400, eleven (11) assorted used vehicles with duty paid value (DPV) of five million, five hundred and thirty-five thousand, three hundred Naira (5, 535, 300), One hundred and Seventy Five (175) liters of Vegetable oil with a Duty Paid Value (DPV) of 84,000. The Total DPV for all the seizures is put at Nineteen Million One Hundred and Twenty Thousand Seven Hundred Naira (19, 120,700)”.

“I recognize the critical role the media can play especially in the area of sensitization and enlightenment to all our stakeholders and the society at large. This is why I have called this briefing to partner with the media in order to achieve willful compliance from the public as well as to showcase what the Command is doing, our activities and the success recorded within the first three month of the year,

“The Command has two (2) approved border stations, Chikanda in Kwara State and Babanna in Niger State with the core function of suppressing smuggling; The Command equally engages in trade facilitation and Border Security and it is working hard to bring other excisable factories within its axis under Customs Control through market surveillance.

“In spite of lull in business activities due to 2019 general elections, between January to March this year, the Command has generated Eight Hundred and Fourteen Million, Seven Hundred and Fifty Five thousand, Five hundred and Sixty Three Naira Eighty Six kobo (N814, 755, 563.86) which is the highest in the past three years, even when the Command is yet to receive official communication of the revenue target for the fiscal year 2019.

“In 2016, 2017, 2018 the Command generated Five Hundred and Thirty Nine Million, One Hundred and Thirty Six thousand, Ninety Eight Naira, Fifty Six Kobo (N 539, 136, 098.56) Four Hundred and Seventeen Million, Three Hundred and Thirty Six Thousand Two Hundred and sixty Six Naira Sixty Seven Kobo (N 417, 336, 266. 67) Three Hundred and Eighty Seven Million Two Hundred and Eleven Thousand Four Hundred and Seventeen Naira Forty Five Kobo (N 387, 211, 417.45) respectively

“In January 2019, the Command generated 210, 466,789.18 which surpass with 94, 567, 317.31 the same month last year. In February this year which was an election month, we generated 4, 307,586.65 with a difference of 142, 215, 970.9. By March we returned and recovered from the heavy impact of the elections and generated 599,981,188.03 which surpass that of March last year with 475, 192,799.

“To this end, I would like to thank the Management of Nigeria Customs Service at the National level for creating an atmosphere conducive for the success recorded so far.

“I would like to send a note of warning to economic saboteur to steer clear of Niger/Kwara/Kogi area Command and engage in meaningful venture or else they will meet their Waterloo. My officers are properly trained and motivated to carry out their official duty without fear or favour. I urged officers to shun bribery and corruption or they will be shown the way out.

“Finally, the Command is determined to surpass the target set that might be for it by the management. It is our hope that our joint efforts in this year will yield better result as we anticipate going beyond the revenue achieved in the year 2018”.

The bush bar section of the King David Hotel, Awka. was burnt down yesterday

The fire started around half past eleven o’ clock in the night completely destroyed the bush bar.

When a news agency arrived at the hotel, both the management and sympathizers were wearing a sorrowful look over the situation.

Speaking to the, news agency the Director and Chief Fire Officer of the State, Engineer Martin Agbilli said that he received a distress call from a good Nigerian that is not a staff of the hotel, notifying him that the hotel was on fire, and he immediately mobilized and rushed to the place and was able to put off the fire.

Engineer Agbili who advised residents of the state to always cut off all bushes ten meters away from their buildings, appealed to people that has thatched roof in their hotel or houses to always wet the thatched areas to avoid fire outbreaks.


He gave out emergencies number to call in such situations as 09077044410 for Agu Awka station and 09077411503 for Eze-Uzu junction, Agu Awka.

The Senior Supervisor of the Hotel, Mr Peter Uga said that the damage caused by the inferno was over five million naira.

The fire was said to have started as a result of an electric spark that landed on the top of the hotels thatched bush bar.

OzzyBee was recently given an award by HRH Igwe K.O.N Orizu III at the 55th Ofala Festival in Nnewi on the 28th December 2018 for his humanitarian works and exploits in the entertainment Industry.

On that same day, he performed his recent track titled ‘’Egwu Ofala’’ which is dedicated to Igwe Nnewi, Orizu III and Adadioramma (Mama Bee).

In an exclusive interview with Anaedoonline, the young artiste said that the award meant a lot to him because it is the first award he is getting from his hometown (Nnewi) and from the traditional ruler of his hometown Igwe Kenneth O.Nnaji, Orizu III.
He lauded the efforts of Igwe Nnewi in bringing the entire Nnewi together under his reign and his efforts towards appreciating the works of Ndi Nnewi.

The multi-award winning artiste, Ozzybee also revealed to Anaedoonline that he will be releasing his debut album this year. The singer said he has many single hits to his name and it is necessary he for him to release his own album.

The album will include songs where he has featured other popular artiste and also his recent song where he featured ‘’ Mr Real’’.
OzzyBee said he hopes to launch his album in the South-East, precisely in Anambra state.

The ‘’Charlie Dance’’ crooner has called on the Anambra state, Governor Willie Obiano to join hands with his team to bring entertainment home to Anambra state.

Talking about his 2019 plans, the ‘’Stop Child Cruelty’’ advocate hopes to collaborate with Davido on a new song. He says it will mean a lot to him to collaborate with Davido.

When asked about his Birthday celebration this year which comes up on 7th January 2019, He said he will celebrate it how he celebrates his birthday every year which is visiting other children at the Orphanages and hospitals to share what he has with them.
