Christianity Etc › Why Christians May Not Pay Tithes by Kenmatt(op): 6:37am On Jul 09, 2017
NB: This thread is strictly for Christians. The aim is not to cajole any Biblical topic or for those that have a different religious theme to get in here for any form of shenanigan.

Jesus pointed it out that after one must have been very careful and pays his or her tithes without sticking to the basic which include faith, justice and mercy, that sorrow awaits him or her. Though he did not totally frowned at it but tagged it "less important". Mathew 23:23

Tithe, as one of the laws of Moses is what we are no longer obliged to. Since we do not live under the law any longer as it is in Romans 6:14. Jesus also pointed out very clear that he did not come to abolish the law, that is why He did not frown at it in the above paragraph, that He came to accompliah the law as it is in Mathew 5:17.

He thereby accomplished it in Colossians 6:14. There in, we are no longer obliged to the code of law, for he has nailed all our depts and obligations to the cross.

This is my "little" sister who won the miss of her department (SLT) in her School.

Right from when she was very tender in age, she was Proffessing that she would one day, act and we will be watching her on cable television, that she will also win and become miss world, we all then would joke over it thinking it was a child's joke, today, I think this dream is becoming kinetic little by little.

Congratulations my little Sis!

I would like my fellow Nairalanders to also wish her good luck.

Politics › Re: Five Reasons I See IPOB Agitation Having A Political Undertone by Kenmatt(op): 11:34am On May 02, 2017
Secondary, IPOB became vocal when PDP lost election in 2015, I have asked most of my friends who preach biafrasm, I am yet to get a convised answer to that. Why wouldn't IPOB became incline when Jonathan was the president as he is a "biafran" according their claim. That was when he would have yielded to the aspirations and plea of his people if it were genuin, instead of clamouring for Biafra when you know very well that the president of the country can not yield to that. Is that not an illusion?

You talked about being marginalised. Do you know that the first president of the senate and even dominant senate present in Nigeria are from the East?

Are you aware that the first Speaker of the house of representative is from the East, the same person was the first foreign affairs minister, the first ambassador and permanent representative to UN?

The first Military head of state was an Easterner.

The first civilian vised president is an Easterner.

C'mon the list goes on...

[quote author=psucc post=56120819]Op Nigeria on its own was a political arrangement. You have a point here but you must be objective to the point of seeing the marginalization of the people.

Greetings to you all!!!

I just want to bring this five "burning"points that make me think that the Biafra agitation by IPOB has political Undertone.

I know that most of my brothers and sisters from the eastern part of this country will not like this, though it is just my opinion.

Firstly, IPOB became pronounced immediately Goodluck
Jonathan lost election to the opposition in 2015.

Secondary, the leader of IPOB was always heard talking against any politician from South-South or South -East who is with the opposition party that won the last election. The clear indication is a derogatory statements he was using againt some of them in which Governor of Imo state is among.

Again, the cohession between IPOB leader, Fayose the governor of Ekiti state and Femi Fani Kayode when we all know that these men are PDP adherents and oppositors to the government at the center is clystal clear that it has a Political undertone.

Fortly, majority of IPOB members are PDP sympathisers.

Conclusively, the activities of these group are always viral at those states that think that they believe in no other political party than PDP.

Firstly, I am compelled to believe that Nigeria plays politics of compensation and yeild to a regional, ethnic or religious jingoism. This is a topic for another day.

I am yet to be convinced on the relationship between Femi Fani Kayode and Ayo Fayose the governor of Ekiti state when we all know that FFK was the former spokes person to the ex president Goodluck Jonathan's campaingh organisation and Ekiti state next gubernatorial election is fast approaching. These men a notable PDP adherents, the former was not and still not happy on how his master lost election to the opposing party, you should not be astonished seeing him in any organisation that is totally opposing the current government at the centre while the later is indirectly campaigning seriously for his next election, thereby identifying him self with the opposition group. This is contrally to the preaching of the IPOB leader who was canvassing for total segregation from the "Hausa-fulani and the Yorubas". I don't think one needs a prophet or a soothsayer before you could understand the "hand writing on the wall".

How secured are these jobs? Can PDP be able to maintain constant salary payment? I know why I am asking these questions because we all know the source of Political Party's income, especially now that the big bugs are leaving PDD.

It's a certainty that APC has come to stay and I am very sure that APC will rule this country for more than thirty-two (32) years.

God thank you very much for saving your Children by getting us out of PDP in 2015, who knows what would be our fate by now? Maybe by six year to come, Nigeria would have been a history, a country where just very few friends have liquidated her wealth and position the masses prone to abject penury, sickness and death.

The rich CV of Magu that give National Assembly sleepless night:

THE MAN: #IBRAHIM #MUSTAFA #MAGU.

Ibrahim Mustafa Magu, Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, was on Wednesday, March 15, 2017, screened by the Senate for the position of the Executive Chairman, EFCC.
Magu, a Deputy Commissioner of Police is an indigene of Borno State. He attended the Ahmadu Bello University, ABU, Zaria, where he obtained a degree in Accountancy and a Masters Degree in Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice. He also holds a Post Graduate Certificate in World Corruption Studies from the University of Hong Kong.
A certified accountant, trained as financial crimes investigator with a background in forensic accounting, Magu has been exposed to training from the United State Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI, and the London Metropolitan Police institute.
He is one of the founding staff of the EFCC who served as Head of the Commission’s Economic Governance Unit, EGU, during the tenure of Nuhu Ribadu. In that position, he led many high profile investigations against former governors including James Ibori of Delta State.
The EFCC Boss is a member of the investigative committee convened by National Security Adviser (NSA), Babagana Monguno on the orders of President Muhammadu Buhari to probe the procurement of arms in the Armed Forces from 2007 till date.
No doubt, Magu is a professional by all standards, a courageous investigator and strongly views corruption as a crime against humanity. He said his mission in the EFCC is to ginger up the anti-corruption campaign. His words: “there is the need to make sure that whatever is gotten for common use did not end up in private pockets,” he has said repeatedly. “I am ready and willing to work with everybody without any primordial concerns, I will discharge my duties as the Chairman, EFCC, guided by the fear of God, the overriding interest of Nigeria and the rule of law”, he promised.
The acting Chairman who was appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari in acting capacity on November 9, 2015, has recorded unprecedented achievements in the history of the Commission. Amongst the over 200 convictions he recorded in a period of about one year is the convictions of the final forfeiture of N34 Billion which was traced to the former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Deziani Allison Maduekwe; Interim forfeiture order of the sum of $9.8 Million Dollars and 74, 000 Pounds Recovered From Ex-NNPC GMD, Andrew Yakubu, following a raid in one of his houses in a slum in Kaduna.
Others are the sentencing of former governor of Adamawa State, Bala Ngilari to five years in jail for procurement fraud; sentencing of former Director General of NIMASA, Temisan Omatseye to five years in prison for fraud and sentencing of former Local Government Chairman in Kogi State, Gabriel Daudu to five years in jail for money laundering; recovery of 17 vehicles from Ex- Comptroller-General of Customs, Abdullahi Dikko Inde; uncovering of Diezani's $37.5million Mansion and the securing of Interim Forfeiture Order of N50 million on Former Enugu CJ'S Bank Accounts, the list is unending.
Only yesterday, operatives of the Commission, Kaduna zonal office, intercepted a sum of N49million in five large black 150kg coloured sacks following a tip off.

Judge for yourself why he is a nightmares to the National Assembly senate of thieves.
Fellow Nigerians, it is very obvious that the Nigerian Senate is part of the corruption that is killing the country. IF YOU ARE AGAINST THE SENATE FOR NOT CONFIRMING MAGU'S APPOINTMENT KINDLY CONTINUE TO SHARE THIS. Very soon WE SHALL OCCUPY NIGERIA AGAINST the SENATE OF THIEVES.

NB: Pasted as received from my Watsapp group chat.

Greetings to you all.

I have been pondering over this for a long time now, So I decided to bring it forth for Nairalanders who are Bible students to do justice to this question.

Many a time in home movies, you will see when actors or actresses are praying as they are acting, shouting; "In the name of Jesus Christ"

My question is; doesn't this go contrary to the book of Exodus 20:7 which says; "You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold guiltless anyone who takes his name in vain"
Celebrities › The Refined Immorality Called Big Brother NAIJA by Kenmatt(op): 8:44am On Feb 24, 2017
I'M JUST THINKING OUT LOUD.

THE BIG BROTHER NAIJA SHOW.

There's a notorious programme currently going on called THE BIG BROTHER NAIJA. The winner of this notorious show is expected to walk away with a whopping N25 million and a breathtaking car. All that is required to win this show is to be Live with a bunch of fellow crazy, irresponsible people, do all sorts of immoral things, and, viola, you're the winner.

Next thing, you're called a celebrity, winning big advertisement contracts and becoming the face of multinational companies.

If only there could be an educating version of this programme. If only they could house some intelligent people in like manner and make them compete for similar prizes. But, no! Our people do not encourage sanity. Our society promotes evil over good, indecency over decency, immorality over morality, and ungodliness over godliness.

The best in Mathematics competitions will go home with either a carton of cowbell milk or Indomie noodles, ridiculous stipends and laughable prizes. Yet these morons in BBN will earn millions for coming to suck breasts, speak thrash, display nudity, and get under the sheets on International TVs.

Our rich individuals, companies and corporate organisations will spend huge sums of money sponsoring dirty shows like BBN and Beauty Pageants where they will enthrone satanic activities, display nudity, molest our under aged girls, and make them win on bottom power rather than on real beauty and brains. Can anyone forget the Anambra State born Chidinma Okeke saga in a hurry?

What a wasted generation! What a time! How do we raise, nurture and produce the next Chike Obis, Chinua Achebes, Wole Soyinkas, Cyril stover, Apostle olatunde Adekunle, and yes, P.O.C. Akorefeshuh? What foundation are we laying for coming generations? What message of hope and legacy are we leaving behind? What epistle are we sending to the future to testify to it that the past made some level of contributions. Is Immorality the legacy we really want to hand down to the next generation? Are we not losing our minds?

Let all people of goodwill come together and raise alarm against this dirty programme. Let us all with one voice and in unison say, "We've had enough of this nonsense." Let us blow the trumpet in Zion and declare war on these encouragers of evil tendencies and promoters of these demonic programmes targeted at our highly impressionable youths. We should see that this programme is replaced with a more intelligent and educative programme.

Nigeria is broke morally and financially, yet the sponsors are wasting millions of Naira on a highly immoral programme. Please what is the lesson that one can learn from this Big Brother show? What can our YOUTHS pick from it? I know this kind of write up doesn't get many shares. But if we keep quiet, then we are silent conspirators.

So share. Share until a thought process is provoked in the heart of everyone and we can stand up to say, Enough of this nonsense."

SAY NO TO IMMORALITY
Food › Check Out The Tomatoes I Bought Three Hundred Naira (Photo) by Kenmatt(op): 2:07am On Feb 18, 2017
Greetings to you all.

I bought this tomatoes three hundred Naira (#300.00).

Gone are the days it was trending on nairaland, during the scarcity of tomatoes just last year, every Dick and Harry were uploading the photos of the Tomatoes he or she bought at a very high price.

But since this very agric produce has flooded the market, no one again cares to show us much quantities he or she bought at a very low price.

Does it mean that you all are pessimistic? If so, I will encourage you all to be optimistic.

I strongly believe that in not a distance time to come, Nigeria will not only be the largest producer of cassava, but will also be producing rice, tomatoes and palm oil and other agric produce in large quantities.

It is unequivocally clear that if the top bananas we have in the business environment in this country do not relent in their efforts as they are all plunging their rich business ideas and resources into agriculture, sky will not only be our limit but our unit.

Since Nigeria is a country that encourages both private and public ownership of businesses, I would like the federal government and some other states to borrow a leaf from states like; Anambra, Ebonyi and Lagos in what they are doing in terms of rice production.

Even if we do not go into all, we can select a few and concentrate on them. Example, rice, tomatoes and cassava.

Federal government wil then create a body like NNPC, may be, it will be called, NNAPC, Nigeria National Agricultural Produce Commission.

As we produce, we can also export these to other countries in Africa and beyond, that is when we will experience a real growth and development in our economy, Naira will gain value against the dollar, unemployment will reduce, to mention but a few.

In a nut shell, I see Nigeria being able to feed the whole Africa.

Thank you.

But since they would want to belong to a state that is known for massive oil production, what else would you expect? This is also happening to Ndokis in the same Rivers state.
