Culture › The Three People You Must Not Lie To by Kenmatt(op): 7:50pm On Mar 22, 2016
A mann and his wife were fighting in their apartment, the woman broke a bottle and stabbed the man on his chest and ran out, immediately, she dashed into Sister Kate's apartment. The man angrily rushed out with a long cutlass, and asked Sister Kate where she entered, Sister Kate said she ran out through the back gate. The next day, I asked Sister Kate if she knew that she lied? She said no that it was a "holy lie". She lied to save a life.

Most people can not stay a week without telling lies, knowingly or unknowingly.

Do you think there is any thing like a " holy lie"?
Do you believe that all lawyers are liers?

These are the three people you must not tell lies to;

1 Your doctor, you must tell your doctor every damn thing you think he or she needs to know. You pretending or lieing to him or her is suicidal and it might lead you to early grave.

2 Your man of God, this is so because he or she prays to God on your behalf. You do not have to tell lies to him or her so that he or she will not be talking to God about giving you a brand new car this year while you actually need a jet.

3 Your lawyer, yes you must tell your lawyer the gospel truth. If you stole the yam, tell him or her that you stole the yam. He or she will then study the case and come up with the best articulation to set you free.

Cheer up.
Romance › Ten Ways To Love by Kenmatt(op):
Hello people!

I just want to bring to you ladies and gentlemen the ten ways to love perfectly.

Here we go;

1- Listen without interrupting. It is said that when everybody is talking, nobody is talking. Even in the mids of disagreement, neighbours shouldn't know that you are having fracas. I hate it most when some men shout and rant on their women. Proverb 18: 4, 6, 7 and 8.

2- Speak without accusing. Most guys or ladies go to the extent to discuss their wives inefficiency either with their parents or friends. We have two ears and one mouth, which means, we should at least, talk half of what we hear. Learn to curtail your expressions, even when you are angry. James 1: 19.

3- Give without sparing. It is commonly known that givers never lack. Proverb 21:26.

4- Pray without ceasing. How many of you pray for your partners? This is needful. A prayerful Christian is a powerful Christian. Colossians 1:9.

5- Answer without arguing. Gently answer his or her questions each time he or she needs that from you. Proverb 17: 1.

6- Share without preservation. Don't hide the dark side of yours from him or her. If you have had a baby before, tell him or her the truth. Ephesians 4:15.

7- Enjoy without complaint. Relationship is meant to be enjoyed and not to be endured. Philippians 2:14.

8-Trust without wavering. Trust is a key factor in building a relationship or marriage. A marriage or relationship that lacks trust, is set to crash. 1Corinthians 13:7.

9-Forgive without punishing. Many people will also tell you that they can forgive but they can't forget. Please, forgive and forget. Colossians 3:13.

10-Promise without forgetting. If you know that you can't do it, please don't promise it. Proverb 13:12.

Thanks for reading.

Dear Mynd44,

It is not arguable that you are fervently active in moderating Political section. Separating wheats from chaffs.

But it is dishearten, what you did to my post this morning. I never had an intention to advertise or publicise any television station or use any obnoxious word. What I typed was exactly what I heard live.

I was poised to shower shabby words on you, out of grievance, but as cultured as I am, I have to curtail my expressiveness so that it will not seem like an excessiveness.

"Open rebuke is better than secret love". That is why I have to write you an open letter.

Cheer up.

I would like all nairalanders to hook up to channels right now.

In his words: "One thing you should know about me is that, I hate violence, if you should follow me, you must not hold a gun, you must not hold a matchet, unless for a purpose of agriculture".

Culture › That Bad Habit You Don't Regret Having by Kenmatt(op): 4:31am On Mar 13, 2016
We all know how easily it is to form a habit, whether the good or the bad one.

There are some that after you have done it, you begin to regret, but there are some that you don't even regret at all, though it is seen as a bad habit as well.

Below written are the bad habits I enjoy and the once I regret.

Getting drunk. I enjoy it when I take a bottle of bear or two but I hate it when I get drunk. If I drink and get drunk, I will promise my self not to do it again but occasionally, it might still happen.

I can not deny here that I have not patronised a sex worker. Knowingly or unknowingly. But I would feel bad and regret it all afterwards.

I think I have smoked. Though it was not up to a month and I stopped it. Regretting why I should have touched it

Masturbation, I have done a thing like this before after which I will be full of regrets.

Let's read yours.

Only if you can be honest.

That is not what I am here to type.

Culture › Re: Igbos Have No King by Kenmatt(op): 6:34pm On Mar 11, 2016
Udmaster:
Igbos mixed Royalty with a democratic style which is build around Individualism.
IGBOS HAVE PRE-COLONIAL KINGDOMS BUT THEY ARE FEW.
1) The Oldest Kingdom in Nigeria history is NRI KINGDOM and it is an Igbo kingdom.
Eze Nri Enwealana II Onyeso CFR is the custodian of Igbo Culture, Tradition and Deities, he does not come out all the time, because he is seen as a half mortal.
Even the Ancient Benin empire related well with the Nri Kingdom.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kingdom_of_Nri

2. Nnewi Kingdom- it was formed around 1408AD and Igwe Kenneth Orizu JP is the 20th IGWE NNEWI and a respect monarch among Igbos.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Igwe_of_Nnewi_kingdom

3. Enugwu Aguleri - It is as old as the Nri Kingdom.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enugwu_Aguleri

4. AROCHUKWU Confederacy- Found in Abia state, it was est. Around 1700 and they were well known for ancient slave trade.
Eze Aro Mazi Okoro- respected very well in Abia State. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arochukwu

... Obi of Onitcha is also respected.
Igbo Monarchs are matured and you will see them in media arguing over irrelevant things.
You said "the oldest Kingdom in Nigeria history is NRI Kingdom and it is an Igbo Kingdom".

IGBOS HAVE NO KING There is nothing like a kingdom or Igbo kingdom. Igbos have no centralised ruler. The Eze NRI you are talking about is believed to be a son of an ansestral father; NRI him self, whose name was Eri. Eri or Nri is an ancestral father of all Igbos and not a King. Some of his son then were Awkuzu, Nando, Nteje, and son on. I will elaborate on this on the next topic.

So therefore, NRI is an ancestral home of all Igbos but Eze NRI is not a King of all Igbo. Igbos as a whole do not practice monarchical system of rulership. It was Eri that was an ancestral father of all Igbos.
Culture › Igbos Have No King by Kenmatt(op):
I salute you all.

I have been fallowing the verbal battle of supremacy among the Yoruba Kings. I find it interesting, not only interesting but also educating.

Yoruba is one among the three major ethnic groups in Nairaland.

As it is in Yoruba land, so it is in Hausa land. But the different is clear in Igbo land.

I stand to be challenged by any body, any where.

Igbos have no centralised king. Right from the out set, till date. This was the cogent reason the east was very difficult for the white men to colonise during the pre colonial rule. When they got to Sultan of Sokoto, Emir of Gwandu, Emir of Kano, Oba of Benin, Alafin of Oyo, Ooni of Ife, after convincing them, they would gather their subjects, and their subjects would yield to their persuasions and concur. Thereby making it easy to conquer the people even with their minds.

It was not easy for them in the East because no centralised King in the East.
Born out of my perspective, it was the "sturburness" the white men saw in Easterners during that period that degenerated into the so called "hatred" by the British men to the Easterners till date. Believe it or not.

There is a popular saying; Igbo enwe Eze". Meaning; Igbos do not and can never have King. Thus; a central king.

The so called "Eze ndi Igbo" you hear they attach to some names is just like a nick name or to shower encomium on him. Igbos have no king.

The community chiefs, village heads and even the so called town Ezes, can not give an order to the entire community and every one will stick to it. This is to show you how less their powers are. To be compared with when Ooni of Ife, Oba of Benin or Emir of Kano has given an instructions to his subordinates.

Its all good.

Family › Why Women Should Insist On White Wedding by Kenmatt(op):
I recently read a post on "why men should only do traditional marriage".

I decided to high light on why women should insist on white wedding.

In this age when we are talking gender equality, traditional marriage enshrines much power to the man, even to marry many wives while it is a taboo for our women to marry more than one husband at the same time.

Apart from Christianity which also interwoves English law, Koranic and our regional customs believe and agree that a man can marry more than just a wife.

White wedding, which we can also call church wedding, and even the English law which we practice, frown at a man marrying more than one woman as a wife.

It is called bigamy in law. And this is also an offence known as felony.

Ladies, if you are married with your so called husband without a white wedding, it is not recognized in law, family law sees it as if you guys are just "dating".

But when you guys are wedded, should the man attempts to marry another woman, or a lady some where is screwing your husband, that is when you have your legal power to sue her for bigamy.
Romance › Much Ado About Living Lovers by Kenmatt(op): 8:40am On Mar 08, 2016
Greetings to you all.
Both members and guests online.

Living lovers is a situation where two lovers who are not legally or traditionally binded are living together as though they are husband and wife.It is commonly called "Potakot marriage" here in Port Harcourt

A thing like this is commonly seen in tirtially schools, urban areas and even at villages as well.

There are some factors which prompts this to happen which I wouldn't want to overlook.

Lust; the clamour for sexual satisfaction can push a young man to ask his female lover to pack in and both start living as husband and wife.

Poverty; I have seen a situation where a lady is unable to pay her rent, as a result, she ends up packing her things into her boy friend's house and both, begin to live as a living lovers.

However, I can not still deny that I have not seen living lovers who later end up becoming husband and wife lawfully.

But the ill effects of it, must not go unnoticed here.

(1) Immorality; a thing like this is totally wrong before man and even before God. It is against biblical standard and societal norms and value.

(2) Guilt; there is always a feeling of guilt. One who lives with his or her lover without any formalities knows very well that he or she is not and can never be proud to introduce him or her as "my husband or wife". Even when they have lived for years and have even got kids.

(3) Abortion; it is unequivocally clear that the lady will be having if not series of abortion in order to avert unwanted or unplanned pregnancy.

(4) It hinders the lady or the man from getting a prospective suitors because most people will unknowingly tag them as a "married couple".

(5) Most times when the pregnancy occurs, if they try to abort the baby and its proving abortive, UNPLANNED marriage has set in.

(6) Separation can take place at any given time. It is commonly known that a broken relationship is better than a broken marriage. Either of the two parties can draw the cotton at any time, knowing very well that nothing much was attached, nothing much was committed.

(7) Having sex as a habit will become part of their lives. We all know that habit is very easy to form and very hard to stop.

(cool Economic waste; this will make the man or woman spending beyond his her budget just to make up to fill up.

Conclusively, let me stop here so that my pals will have theirs to add up. But I won't drop my pen with out stating categorically that living lovers should not be encouraged.

Thank you.

Romance › If Your Wife Sleeps With Another Man, Will You Forgive Her by Kenmatt(op):
Folks, It is crystal clear that it is only on the account of adultery that the holy book supports a divorce.

The question is, If you get your wife red handed on this, will you forgive her?

There are things one can forgive but one can not forget.
And a thing like this gives an emotional wound. And an emotional wound takes as long as one lives to heal.

My mind is very mild and I am very preservative when it comes to my thing.

As a man, I know my responsibilities and I must make sure that my wife's wishes are all met, both emotional, psychological, physical, materially and all facets of life.

But, if my wife is found wanting, I can forgive and forget in all things but not with the issue of bleeping outside.

That very day marks the end of every damn thing.

This question was raised in a Sunday school during a church service, I humblily gave my answer but every body was looking at me as not having a forgiving spirit as a Christian. Even when it is said that the so called woman has begged for forgiveness.

Many were quoting, " seventy times seven" for me.

Let's read your view.
Romance › The Bitter Truth About Valentine by Kenmatt(op): 7:18am On Feb 14, 2016
Flowers, cards, candy, chocolate, red heart, merriment, romance and sex having, are they all about valentine?

The origin of valentine's day is not the story I am here to tell. It is a common knowledge, how it all started from the church, in the person of "Rev fr saint Valentine".

Now a days, churches would always organize a special church program for her youths on a valentine's day.
Either because of these reasons below or not.

(1) To keep them busy. Someone said; " an idle mind is a devil's workshop "
(2) To prevent them from getting the chances of being carried away from the "day's valentine breeze". Which might lure them to sin at last.

The big question is, is valentine's day celebration really for singles, married or both? Checking out the fact that he died for making marriages.

I know that most of you are not going to like my post. But, that is the bitter truth about valentine.

In as much as the activities of the man you celebrate today was a crime against his state. It was also against the biblical principles in which he believed. Don't just hiss, get chilled, I'll explain.

Disobident to the law of the land, no matter the reason whatsoever is a crime against the state.
During the period of emperor Claudias, he maintained that young men should be prohibited from getting married at that point in time because of the key issue at hand. "Unmarried soldiers fight better than their married counterparts because they do not have their wives and children to think about" and this man, bleached this order and was getting young men married to their young female lovers secretly. When they should have been at the war front in defence of their state.

In 2 Sam 11, David, stayed back, and we all know what later happened. He also wanted Uriah to come and stay back which he refused as a brave soldier, we all know what king David did to him.

It is categorically stated in the book of Romans 13: 1-10. That one should respect the orders from those in authority. Pls just open it and read it now.
Why couldn't "Rv fr saint Valentine" do this?

Yes, marriage is sacred and honoured by God. The idea of encouraging young men and women to marry within the Christian church was what valentine was all about.
And not sharing flowers, candy, red hearts and romance.
Music/Radio › Happy Radio Day by Kenmatt(op): 9:14am On Feb 13, 2016
Most of you would always keep a date with 14th February of every year as a valentine's day but most of you do not know that 13th February is also a remarkable day, World Radio Day.

13th February is World Radio Day. A day to celebrate radio as a medium to improve international cooperation between broadcasters and to encourage major networks and community radio alike to promote access to information, freedom of expression and gender equality over the airwaves

You can be listening to your radio as you do your work unlike television which will keep distracting you because you would like to see what is happening on the screen.

Radio penetrates every nooks and crannies of the society. Even those at the remote area have much access to radio simply because it does not need internet or monthly subscription to function. Radio is still the best and the fastest means of dishing an information to the public.

I can not talk about radio with out mentioning great names like, TDA of Ray power (106.5) Port Harcourt, Rikky Uzoma of Radio Rivers Port Harcourt, Joyce Unegbu of IBC Owerri, DJ Mecca Don of Rhythm FM, and the man with a double barreled name. Ngwuoke Ngwuoke of radio Nigeria.

Which radio station is your favorite and the broadcaster or the presenter you love listening to?

Business › (check This Pic) How Wealthy Would U Like To Be? by Kenmatt(op): 11:32pm On Feb 08, 2016
I salute you all. Both guests and members of this forum.

I would like to ask, how wealthy would you like to be? An American singer, Bruno Mars sang; "I wanna be a billionaire".In fact, that song has been ever green in my mind to the extent that, its still my ringing tune till date.

Many a time, I would hear people discussing topics like; top ten African billionaires, top ten world billionaires and lots more.

Every body wants to make money and become a millionaire, not just a millionaire but a billionaire. Even in the detriments of the societal norms and value in which we belong to.

Slangs like these; " who wan suffer, I need mony mehn, money on ma mind, if u aren't tokin mony, Ur tokin notin". Has become a trend not just among our youths, but also among the elders as well. What is this society turning into?

Economics categorized the three basic necessities of life thus; food, cloth and shelter. Even the Holy book said, " give us our daily bread"

But why the clamour for wealth emancipation. Financial security and freedom are the key topics in every symposium you see around the corner.

Jesus once said,"man shall not live by bread alone ..." What shall it profit a man to gain the whole world and loose his soul"

Its clyster clear that a man needs this two Fs. Fame and Fortune. But I still believe that good will or good name is better than riches.

It is a high time we stopped this crazy clamour for money making and get focused on the quality of life we live so as to leave a better legacy behind. In that doing, your name is written in people's mind and not in gold which is perishable.

Above all, if you are given this chunk of money on the picture below, what will you do with it? Where will you pack it? How can you carry it? Will you dig a whole and hide it because of EFCC, anti graft war or being tagged as a money launderer.

Please note this; human wants can never be met. Unless his needs. So there fore, separate the needs from the wants in order to get the picture clear.

GET FOCUSED ON REALITY.

Car Talk › Re: How To Take Good Care Of Your Tires by Kenmatt(op): 8:23am On Feb 01, 2016
tete7000:
What was put on tire is manufactured date. As per the validity period no research has ever been carried out here in Nigeria. The research carried out abroad from all I have read online had never conclusively agreed that tire expires. No manufacturer ever agreed on the fact that their tires expires. Only conclusive information is that a tire life depends on how well maintained it is used. A new tire underpressured, overpressured, misalligned or unbalanced poses the same risk as a worn out tire while meticulous people at some other end have been able to maintain their tires in service for a relatively long period of time.
My problem with our safety officers is that because of their greed for money, they leave important factors and dwell on those that fetch them easy money. If I may ask how many new tires being sold out there have not spent part of their so called 'useful lives' on shelf? Do I now buy a new tire and while it is still relatively good discard it after two years because it has expired most especially when all I do is commute intra city in places like Ibadan? Discretion should be exercised when enforcing these laws.
I have been expecting some one to come up with this argument. Years back, someone imported a vehicle from abroad, it was covered with a tapoulin. Years later, the brand new vehicle was uncovered, the very first day it hit the road, two tires bursted. The chemical components through which tires are made, have expiration date. When it does, the elasticity is gone, so therefore, the tire is expired.

Teach us how to discover a tyre expiring date please.
Carefully observe and you will see a stamp with a caption like this; *0815* or 0815. Meaning, the manufactured date was on 8th month in the year 2015. The validity of this tire is 5 years.

Car Talk › How To Take Good Care Of Your Tires by Kenmatt(op):
Greetings!!!
I just want to bring to your notice some tips on how to take good care of your vehicle tires.

What makes a sound vehicle are; good body, good engine and a good tires. Tires are very important because they are hitting the ground and gets hot and hotter as you drive by.

Many of the accidents on our roads are as a result of bad tires. Some people like "managing" tires with out knowing that such is suicidal. Some like going for the so called fairly used tires thinking it is cheap with out knowing that in a real sense, it is more expensive, considering how many times you will end up changing it from time to time.

1 check the validity of your tires. Every tire has its expiration date. Please put this into consideration because most of the so called new tires that end up bursting on the road are expired tires.

2 Pump all your tires at a particular level of percentage. If it is 60, let it all be 60. So as to maintain a good vehicle balancing.

3 Avoid overloading, over loading your vehicle will amount an extra or too much pressure which your tires might find difficult to withstand.

Check your tire sizes. Your vehicle manufacturer recommended your tire sizes which are in the owner's manual. If you do not have this manual, you can find it in different places like;
1 driver's side door jamb.
2 inside your glove box door.
3 with in your gas tank hatch.

5 Check your tire pressure. You can use your TPMS in doing this. When air pressure in one or more tires drops 25 percent or more below the correct pressure, a warning indicator alerts the driver through one or two types of warning lights on the dashboard. What is TPMS?
TPMS- Tire Pressure Monitoring System. Is an electronic system that monitors tire air pressure. To know if your car has it, check owner's manual.

6 Tire alignment. This refers to an adjustment of a vehicle's suspension. It is also a system that connects a vehicle to its wheel for a proper balancing as well.

How to know if your vehicle needs a tire alignment;
1 Uneven tread wear.
2Vehicle pulling to the left or right.
3 Steering wheel vibration.

Please take this measures seriously let's reduce the accidents rate to the nearest minimum this year and hence forth.
