I think there are 2 things are working in Dangote's favor.

First, he is a northerner so nothing will happen. If for example, he is an easterner, there is no how on earth the government and citizens wouldn't have stepped up at this point to intervene on his matter.

Secondly, he operates in an anyhow country. In a sane country, lawsuits against him will be too much that he will either do something about the issue or bankrupt his business paying compensations. He will have no choice than to prevent this menace .

I always tell people to print out their filled forms before submissions so as to have a record of what they submitted especially for future applications. Your information must align at all times else it becomes suspicious.

I have seen people who had discrepancies on their different applications to IRCC and they still scaled through. In fact, one didn't know of the discrepancies till later years sef. Either IRCC didn't spot those obvious discrepancies or they just ignored it. However, this was 5 or 6 years ago.

Things are different today. It seems with the recent effort to curb immigration, IRCC is now more thorough in their processing as they seem to be looking for any slight reason to deny qualified applications instead of approve.

The only thing you can do is to craft a good explanation and see if they buy it. The issues are obvious so it is not in your hands now. They are already suspicious of your info now, so explain yourself and hope for the best.

I get your point. However, let's look at it in a different perspective. Have you ever helped people in need before? When that friend, family member etc from Nigeria calls you and ask for help to pay hospital bills or other urgent issues and you know they are genuine, do you ignore them cos you haven't solved all your personal life problems?
If your logic is true, then nobody will ever help another person in need cos we haven't finished solving all our problems.

Kwam 1: He should not have escalated the issue that way even if he was wronged. He should have petitioned the airline, sued the airline for damages etc. Instead of causing nuisance and trying to prevent a plane from flying. By trying to stop a plane from flying, he has breached security and should have been arrested immediately and tried in court. Whatever caused it becomes immaterial.

The Pilot: She should be suspended. How can you try to fly a plane when situation is unclear? If she had killed Kwam 1 nko? She would have rot in jail. She needs to be demoted asap, she doesn't even understand her job. She should have called security and made sure kwam 1 was out of site before moving even if it means delaying departure. She should be arrested and charged

Kwam 2: She should be arrested for assault and causing nuisance. On no account should she be disobeying instructions. If you don't like it, petition the airline when you arrive.

Air hostess: She should also be arrested too. She has no business enforcing the law. No matter what, she shouldn't have stopped her from leaving the aircraft. The airline should have alerted the security and waited for her outside the plane. No matter what the girl did, she shouldn't have been treated that way.

When has cost of living calculation become a personal thing? Since we have 200 million people in Nigeria that means we will have around 200 million different calculations of cost of living since everyone has their own cost of living calculation.

If he had said his expenses in London is 37 times higher than Nigeria that would at least made some sense cos expenses differs. However, expenses is not necessarily the same as cost of living. Cost of living is a metric to determine how affordable a place is for people living there not for outsiders.

Cost of living calculation is general and based on location and wages. For example, if a bag of rice cost 80k in Lagos, that is the cost for everybody whether you earn 70k or 10 million a month in Lagos.
If that same bag of rice cost 70k in Benue, then that is the cost for everyone in Benue irrespective of how much they earn. It is not a personal cost.

If we are to calculate the cost of living in Benue and Lagos based on a bag of rice alone, we can't simply say Benue is cheaper cos rice is 10k cheaper unless we factor in the wages in both Lagos and Benue.
There are lots of people here that are either pushing narratives or sincerely ignorant of what they are talking about. In order to do that they end up bringing examples that makes no sense. Minimum wage in London as at April 2025 is £12.21 per hour. That means despite the high cost, it will take an hour of work for a londoner to afford it.

Minimum wage in Nigeria on paper is 70k a month. If you convert it to hourly, that will be 70000 divide by 160 hours of work a month which gives you 437.5 naira per hour. How many days of work will it take a Nigerian worker to afford the cheap 5k burger in Nigeria?

I'm sure you have a degree. Our educational system has failed us. No wonder employers will say there are lots of unemployable graduates in Nigeria, this is an evidence. If you can't make basic analysis, how can you solve the simplest of issues?

All you need is space to do it. There is no natural barrier, you have total control. Because of this, the possibility of becoming addicted becomes too high, there is nothing to stop you. You can't say no to yourself. Masturbators end up doing it daily, sometimes multiple times and that lies the danger. Before you know it, their life becomes ruined.

Diversification of assets just incase. Besides, we still visit Nigeria from time to time and I don't have issues with visits. However, living permanently where I'll become part of the system once again is where I have issues.
I have also asked myself if investing in assets in Nigeria makes sense but then as a Nigerian I think it is if it doesn't stop you from investing in assets in your new country. Besides, due to exchange rate favorability, I don't break any sweat in owning these assets

As for me, I won't live in a 3rd world country again. I will only jakpada when I'm over 80 years and I will return straight to my village to live the remaining part of my life until God calls.

But what I will never do again is to live permanently in a 3rd world when I'm still young.

I just can't stand the underdevelopment abeg. Even if I live in banana island, I still won't be happy seeing the chronic underdevelopment of the society with no hope of even catching up to the rest of the world.

For me, personal progress and comfort is good but what will make me happier is seeing Nigeria catch up with the rest of the developed world not living in one service estate with good infrastructures and forming king while your country men are suffering in darkness and still gloating over it.

Unfortunately, Nigerians don't have any interest in collective good and this is why I have no interest in living in Nigeria again when I'm still young, I don't want my children to have that mindset.

Canada and US travel is different than other countries. Canada and US share the world's longest border with citizens of both countries driving across the border with just their passport.

Flights originating from Canada to the US are treated as domestic flights. The reason is that US border agents are stationed in Canadian airports, they check your passport before you board the flight to US so when you land, you don't go through border or immigration agents the way other countries do.

If Canada needs a visa to enter to the US, it will make a very big news in Canada and the US cos it will be a very unprecedented significant development. So relax, e never reach like that. Those countries need an ESTA, Canada only needs passport so that's why it is not there

It’s a place make money and exit. Not letting health complications catch up with one in the country, and planning ahead of time to make sure, your kids don’t get soaked in debt from a young age.

All these people don’t think about. They celebrate a system that heaps a $80k debt on a young child who barely knows what he is signing up for.

You can see some of the residents already coming for my head. The truth I am throwing at them really hurting many and they just don’t want to face that reality.

First of all, America is not the only western country. Canadian and European kids aren't saddled with those kind of debt. Even me that arrived as a bloody immigrant, I went back to school using government grant which luckily covered all my schoo fees. I didn't pay a dime for my school fees.

My kids have funds which I and the government contribute to and it is invested. It will mature at the time they are going to university. If they decide not to go to university or college, the government will take back the money they have contributed for them over the years and I'll take back mine at that time. By the time my kids are due for university, there would be enough money for their school, if more is still needed, then government grants can cover the rest. I don't need to worry about their school I have done my part.

Some people won't take this serious but will be wasting money on frivolities but when the time comes, they start blaming the system for their woes. I'm sure there are also ways in America but some people wouldn't plan well

I saw an emerging opportunity with morderna and I capitalized cos I had access to credit. There are smart guys in Nigeria who can't capitalize on oportunnities cos they lack access to credit. There are people who have been renting a house in Lagos for over 20 years cos they just can't afford to own one, if 20 years ago, they were offered a mortgage, wouldn't they have finished paying for it while still living in it and enjoying it?

If billionaires still leverage on credit even when they can generate cash to fund their businesses, why can't we leverage credit to build our assets?

Brother, credit is the best thing after slice bread. If you are not disciplined or financially literate enough to effectively use it to your advantage, it is on you and not the system.
