SalamRushdie:When you don't know about economics and governance, you should keep quiet please. You should be one of those complaining about the Forex rates as well as other problems we face in the country today yet you say it's stupid to raise alarm about an unregistered consumable produced and sold in commercial quantities. Its wrong in many ways. |
SalamRushdie:When you don't know about economics and governance, you should keep quiet please. You should one of those complaining about the Forex rates as well as other problems we face in the country today. |
themodernman:Bros, my sponsor's BRP naaa. You should have read it well first. how can I have a BRP and still apply for visa to the UK? Open mind bro, open mind. ![]() |
It's shameful that in most NL treads, many of these commenting have little or no idea of what the topic entails (apart from the catchy headline) but still proceed to unabashedly ventilate their gibberish 'thoughts/opinion' all the same. I bet the bulk can't even manage to finish reading the article; all you need is a religious or political word you oppose/support to take a stance - this is how roll in social media fora in this part of the world; these people personify our educational, religious and sociopolitical systems today (and tomorrow). Your actions betray the essence of a forum like NL and the likes. It puts off genuine comments and opinions, which you should ideally avail yourselves to, but No! These brethren are too opposed to learning, they would rather brandish foolery and belligerence; hurling invectives at any person who opposes their naivety. Some won't even finish this comment before exercising their freedom of empty broadcast offered by the social media today. Are these the leaders of tomorrow? Little wonder may have African rulers don't want to relinquish power - they are too scared to let the younger generation tarnish everything they 'built'. Truly, empty vessels will always make the loudest noise! God help us all. |
Sorry for what happened to you but would you rather live in a Nigeria without policemen? The bad eggs are more than the good ones, that's for sure; (we can't say this without blaming the system of selection and training); BUT are the thugs, robbers, cultists, terrorists etc better for you? The police can't guarantee our safety but they make the country safer than the alternate scenario wch is best left to imagination. Blame the age-old ever-decaying corrupt system of that has failed us and not the pawns who are only products of the system. I bet if you're made DPO today, you will favour your godfather to ensure your growth in the system, you will offer SPU's best to protect that senator whose recommendation letter influenced your posting to a 'juicy' divisional command, you will send 2 MoPol to guard that yahoo-boy who gives you a brown envelope monthly etc - all these at the expense of genuine taxpayers who's tax pay your salary! It's dirty, it's scary, it doesn't look like changing and it's affected or affecting us directly or indirectly. However, let's support the security agents in their legitimate duties as much as we can, they are people's parents, spouses and children too. God help us all. NB: I'm a civilian and a civil servant like most us. Never been in the Police or military. jaelz: |
This has been happening regularly for a while now but since nobody has taken them to the cleaners legally, like indigenous companies, they will never change. I remember having to wait 3days to rcv a rodent-infested bag; hidden under cellotape. To make matters worse, their customer care operatives are obviously poor trained. can recall a dull girl inadvertently blurting out during one of my calls that "Oga this is Nigeria. You need to come to wait at the airport for your bag, we can't send it to you". Dull thing! |
On the same YouTube link I saw Wikes election brouhaha and I shook my head then I remembered some comments I read here on NL and I shook my head again. Something sure is wrong with the way most of us think. Even the person claiming to champion black supremacy on here carries a defeatist mentality in his actions. While he's not entirely correct, like he said, u can't prove him wrong. We are our own prblms... We have always been and will always be. As I type, many of our military police are terrorising fellow Nigerians (whose tax fund their employment) because they are guarding a less educated foreigner who works for one construction company or the other. It's everywhere, we sure need to change the way we think! |
I'm really impressed by your work @author of the thread as well as the contributors. for the first time in a long while, comments have been constructive and positive. God bless you all. We will all be landlords by His grace! |
omoharry:Please check Abokifx website; it breaks it according to banks. I cant quote exact figures but Stanbic had the lowest and GTBank one of the highest last time I checked. Sorry about the kind of responses you have been receiving. |
slyzy:Did any person notice that most of the examples he gave were Muslims? if he's against Christianity or the practice of it as purported by most media sources (who never cease to mislead for the sake of catchy headlines), it will reflected in the tone of his answers. Truth be told, the ma. is just saying the blatant truth. When it comes to religion, all our senses of reasoning go off! This is why fraudsters will always use religion to defraud Nigerians, politicians will always use religion to stir chaos for personal gains. God help us all! |
Read! Read!! Please read well before dropping comments!!! In the first 6mo of this administration, the TSA was reintroduced and it took longer to fully come into force. Also, the author reported positive changes that have occurred since the restructuring of the nnpc started (let's not forget that it's still ongoing, like any good work in progress). Finally, he suggested what he thinks should be done or has not been done (to the best of his knowledge). We are quick to spit pessimism from our mouths without even thinking. Please read through before chasing FTC. Common sense demands it. |
dason4life:If you apply through your bank to show that what your factory or business needs to further add to the nation's economic growth cannot the sourced locally, you will get an exemption and can do business at the official exchange rate. Daz all! |
Learn to read and comprehend. It says he took delivery of the car as part of promotion of made in Nigeria vehicles. It's like hailing me for getting Etisalat promotion deal. |
@rugged7, That's what I experienced o. I couldn't believe it either. I will do just that when I fully recover from the financial shock. Thanks a lot! |
@rugged7, Chief, I was refused with my GMC confirmation email, PLAB 1 result... those ppl can be crazy atimes o. Since when is it a problem to have more than your disposable income in an unemployment jungle like Naija where ppl can work till they drop just to make ends meet sef? I was refused in 24hrs!!! If would appreciate any suggestions as to how I can beat this visa hurdle cos no salary in sight o, the best i have heard is strike action coming soon. I don't mind emailing you my refusal letter if you guys can also help me study it to find a way around it. Also, when I applied, PLAB OSCE was under Business Academic (<6mo) category under Standard visitor. is it true that one can go to the British high commission office to talk to an agent on what I need to do to avoid refusal? The GMC customer care rep suggested that to me today, same thing my old man suggested yesterday. the son of man is just confused jare, Samson videos no lemme watch again. lol. Thanks in advance. |
Forlarene:Medicine first, then write West Africa and/National primary into pathology (like I did in 2011) then you can start seeking residency space into the area of pathology you want ie history (my fav), chempath, med MCB, haematology. another route is to read med lab science, specialise in any of the 4 then do masters in that area. then you can join the johesu train and fight for equality with docs in your field (on a lighter note). that's to the best of my knowledge, new courses come up everyday. you never know! |
fearllesss:Join a co-op society, co-op loans are as low as 10-15% for 30months like what we have here 15% for 3mo. you can tk salary loan from first bank at 26% per annum on a decreasing balance but you are a house officer wch means you might be out in d open in a matter of months ie nysc so I doubt if any bank wld want to tk that risk. someone, say a relative who earns 2x what wld be deducted monthly, can tk on ur behalf while you pay him/her the interest and monthly deductions back. |
ruskidoc:I think I'm in a good position to answer sm of your queries. first I am a local govt doc inEdo state where I have not seen salary alert in 6mo. Also, I am booked for plab2 March 29, 2016. however, I have applied for visa 2x and have been refused 2x! they just dwelt on my financial status. input money in my account in January at diff times to make up 750k wch is more than my planned expenditure but they went on poking holes at every junction from - no salary evidence in account to "your disposable income is too small to account for what you have on your bank statement" to "I don't see why your sponsor will want to sponsor your trip" to you have no right to appeal. all these were despite the fact that I submitted my MDCN full reg cert, my PLAB 1 result and plab 2 booking (booked since Jan 5th), my land documents, wedding cert, UK sponsor who sent his bank statement, council tax bills, employment letter, British resident permit etc. they didn't even consider these ones. Currently confused and depressed cos my money don lost so. I had also booked Salehis course which he has agreed we to postpone to Batch R. my advise, start putting money into one account weekly so it wld be like extra income, add the No Salary story to your letter of introduction, if you want sm1 to be your sponsor, he shld pay money into your account to show that you have a financial relationship etc. Don't rush your visa application. my dad is a British citizen, can't even use him cos it further raises suspicions. UKVI are just bastards jare. they have been refusing ppl anyhow recently even at the slightest chance. if you have money, visit another country then return - that boosts your immigration history too. wish you luck doc! |
DONADAMS:@ donadams, No it's not but most international transactions are done in USD then you look at their economy and government spending internationally then it balances out to where it is against the GBP and the Euro. @ aaronson, The writer tried as much as possible to state his own opinion as well as demystify some common misconceptions. That it is jargons, I beg to differ. Furthermore, would you be kind enough to answer your questions? They seem to be rhetorics after all. Thanks! |
GEJ2019:Dullard!!! if you can't read and learn, shut up at least! This is the problem with our last youths, they don't read anymore, would rather watch porn and chase FTC trophies all year long. smh. Meanwhile, God bless the author of this article. Too many misconceptions everywhere you look, even when explaining to so-called post-graduates of the social sciences in important public offices where you expect policy makers. |
dwebwalker:Sorry bro, but this one has a logically clear explanation; its not a theorem, its something that you can scientifically reproduce in the lab based on the contrasting chemical and physical properties of the waterbodies. |
My question is simple - was there a chaperone present during the examination? If there wasn't, then I can believe her story of being 'molested'. I'm not saying it does not happen, in fact it happens everyday but like she said, he was young, which means he might not be experienced enough to see what he's looking for in record time. However, there should have been a chaperone present. I don't care the age of the woman or agonising the pain, even if its a finger, I examine all patients in the presence of a chaperone. Watched too many movies as a child to ignore that important part of the practice as a doctor! I hope others docs learn from this woman's experience though. It's an increasingly odd weird world we find ourselves lately. |
Small matter! Come to Edo where Oshiomhole is the god of ghost workers via primary sch teachers' salary. He's killed the local government system by looting it in d name of teachers salary amongst other deductions; double taxation aside. In most primary schools, you hardly find more than 20 teachers (most of whom earn less than 120k/mo), so how he uses LG allocation to pay the teachers by himself while the same LG workers are being owed salaries of 5-11mo around the state is baffling. Nobody dies, nobody retires, deductions are constant, their salary ?regular over the last 2years - only in Edo! Where you have to hail him is the fact that safe for one LG chairman (now sacked), nobody, not even the Prado-jeep-riding NULGE exco can openly protest. The state will be doomed if APC wins cos he will continue this godfatherism - the same thing he promised to fight in office, the same thing that made him enter and remain in power. |
IsraeliAIRFORCE:Uncle bros, did the DSS release this or sm newspaper company did? More importantly, have watched Nnamdi Kanu's treasonable statements made on YouTube? The ?convention in the US where he was soliciting for funds to start a war and his live call-in with Sahara news where he promised to practically turn "that zoo/that thing/that contraption" called Nigeria into Somalia-esque wasteland as well as threatened weapons of genocide etc. The DSS sure didn't make those up, you can browse now as you read this. As you do, also check Shekau's broadcast too then compare. If your view remains same, well what else would you rather be convinced with? Thanks! |
Your baby is another person's baby too. The earlier you wake up, the better for you. If she isn't cheating on you already, she's in a long distance romance! |
My worry is this - How did this blatantly cheap attempt at blackmail make front page. Mods wake up from the slumber of bias journalism before you destroy your forum with your own hands! |
"It takes the presence of war to value peace...". They should take this petition in person to the nearest IDP camp to see how many people will sign. Then take to the homes of those who fought in the civil war (or lived through the heat of the war) to also sign. Buhari probably let his emotions get the better of him while answering that question (an eternal flaw one might say if we decide to cast out the fact that he's also human). That aside, Dasuki's offences are treasonable; Kanu's as well, who allowed himself as well as his gung-ho supporters to be used by mischievous opposition in the name of 'liberation'. Both abovementioned persons have shown desperation in evading security operatives, how do you expect them to respect the terms of bail? In my opinion, this country needs a person with a stubborn personality seemingly with nothing to lose and everything to prove like Buhari to help sanitise the Nigerian polity like Ghana once had Rawlings. If this is tyranny, I have since rolled out my carpet for it! |
Some times you wonder if these people occupying sensitive union posts mean well for this country or sit down to reason before being used for selfish agenda. Fuel subsidy has been one big bone in our throat for almost a decade; people have turned it into a lottery, undermining the purpose it was meant to achieve. How many SURE-P projects can we point to today? Then think about how much has gone down that road. The present government has decided to remove the subsidy to free funds for meaningful development instead of feeding some sacred pigs but no, some Nigerians would rather collect garnished crumbs today so that their crumb-providers can keep stacking bread. Let's not forget that this administration is making use of far less resources to provide alot more based on promises made that must be fulfilled. Oil at $70/b and we were in a mess now it's even half of that and we can get PMS at about same price without the demon on subsidy, without the risk of reducing minimum wage and sorts... Let's analyse with wisdom and do what is right for our families and our children. Nigeria is for all of us, not for a select few who have access to the National bakery or its supply lines! |
She might be right technically. Serious smooching can evoke excessive sweating and roughening of every every. Whatever it is, your best friend and your sister are in a love match! Happy new year!!! |
tomakint:Without subsidy!!! |
There's our wisdom or sense of common reasoning? isn't that a black net sleeve? bush boys!!! |
