This is not restructuring

If restructuring to you means creating regional governments, that is not something a President can do by himself. That requires changing the constitution. The Noth will absolutely oppose any attempt to introduce regional government.

The North's opposition to the tax bills will be child's play to what their opposition to any attempt to introduce regional government will look like.

That is why Mr Tinubu is cleverly going after low hanging restructuring fruits that do not require a change of the Constitution.

If you are an advocate of restructuring, you should appreciate Mr Tinubu's bold actions to rebalance the country. This opportunity may not come again for a long time, if ever.

If you are a Southerner or from the middle belt, be grateful. Half bread is better than none. What Mr Tinubu is doing is even more than half bread.

No President before him has been able to do what he is doing.

A President from the North will certainly not do most of these things.
