BusinessMeet The Ceo Of Nigeria’s Cheapest Airline Company by kennysoftSTUDIO(op): 4:19pm On Jul 01, 2021
Welcome to the future – you are one flight closer to your dreams and destinations”. As boldly written in their website, Green Africa Airways, a new entrant to the Nigerian aviation sector, is disrupting the airline business with low airfares that start from N16,500, the lowest in the country. The Lagos-based airline was founded by Nigerian born entrepreneur Babawande Afolabi.

EARLY LIFE AND EDUCATION
Babawande Afolabi, was born in 1983 in Ile-Ife Osun state. Babawande Afolabi understands poverty; he grew up seeing it every day in his homeland of Nigeria. “People cannot afford to eat, feed their children or send them to school,” said Afolabi, who came to the United States in 2006 to attend Illinois Wesleyan. “The majority of the people in Nigeria live in rural areas, and these people really feel the pangs of poverty.” Afolabi arrived in America intent on finding a way to help his home country. Here, he discovered the emerging concept of “microloans,” small loans to individuals to help them start businesses. “Giving people microloans means giving them a shot at life,” says Afolabi. “Small businesses give people the means to send children to school, hopefully raising the literacy rates and lowering crime. It provides a new foundation for society.” Focused on his pursuit of bringing microloans to Nigeria, Afolabi applied for an internship with Sponsors for Educational Opportunity (SEO), which places minority students with some of the nation’s top companies. Of the more than 5,000 students who applied for internships through SEO, Afolabi is one of only 438 students to receive an internship, working this summer for Morgan Stanley on Wall Street.

PoliticsA Failure In Power by kennysoftSTUDIO(op): 1:40pm On Jun 23, 2021
NIGERIA’S UNDER PRESIDENT MUHAMMADU BUHARI GOVERNMENT

In 2015, Muhammadu Buhari was elected president of Nigeria, a country sometimes touted as Africa’s largest democracy, if only in name. Buhari defeated Goodluck Jonathan, whose major achievement during his tenure as president was leading the nation in becoming Africa’s largest economy. But Jonathan’s failures in national security—including the notorious kidnapping of 276 girls from a secondary school in Chibok in April 2014 by the terrorist group Boko Haram—proved disastrous for his political future. Buhari, a former military general, ran and was at least partially chosen by a majority of voters due to his promise to end security issues in areas of conflict, notably in the country’s northern region.

Seven years after the Chibok kidnapping, 112 of the girls are still missing. In fact, the Wall Street Journal reported in March that since last December, more than 800 children have been abducted in the country, a majority in Nigeria’s north and northeast. For the kidnappers, called bandits in the country, many request ransoms, sometimes as much as 500 million naira (approximately $1 million).
A 312-page report recently released by the International Committee on Nigeria and the International Organization for Peace Building and Social Justice has detailed how Boko Haram’s offensive and attacks by Fulani herdsmen have left tens of thousands of Nigerians dead in what is tantamount to religious genocide and ethnic cleansing. Buhari, who is from the north, in a nation where its north-south split is erroneously used as a proxy for its religious and ethnic differences and tensions, has undeniably failed to keep his security promises.
Buhari has failed to expand the economy, reduce the country’s dependency on oil, and follow through on his anti-corruption pledges.
Yet security is just one among this administration’s many deficiencies. Buhari has failed to expand the economy, reduce the country’s dependency on oil, and follow through on his anti-corruption pledges. Indeed, he may be presiding over the least effective government since Nigeria’s independence from Britain in 1960. Sadly, the current state of the country under Buhari was eminently foreseeable based on his political past.

the presidency as if it were his birthright, Buhari finally obtained it and, for the past six years, has demonstrated what most right-thinking Nigerians knew all along: He does not have what it takes to do the job.
His incoherent protectionist economic policies have sparked increasing inflation that, as of April, is at an annual rate of 18 percent, the highest it has been since January 2017. Under Buhari, in 2018, Nigeria overtook India as the country with the largest number of people living in extreme poverty. As of last year, that meant 40 percent of the population—82 million Nigerians—was living in extreme poverty. Last month, Bloomberg reported that Nigeria would soon become the country with the highest jobless rate. In a nation where “jobless” is a joking reference to people who are not busy enough and therefore attentive to trivial matters, its connotation will surely cease to be funny moving forward.

THE END SARS ISSUE
Moreover, parts of Nigeria are no safer now than in 2015; in truth, many are less secure due to the government’s failures at combating extremism coupled with an increase in poverty. The state’s response to the #EndSARS protests last October that galvanized global support to end police brutality in the country was a reflection of the nation’s leader: Protests in the country were met with violence by Nigeria’s armed forces toward protesters and onlookers alike, and threats were made by state and city officials, as well as Buhari, who implied that such dissent threatened the country’s stability. And in the end, judicial inquiries set up to investigate the events of last October were little more than a charade that failed to hold perpetrators of violence accountable.
Buhari has shown that he has neither the skill nor the courage nor the will to lead a country as complex as Nigeria.

THE NIGERIAN MISERY INDEX
According to the Misery Index, Nigeria is among the top ten saddest countries in the world, no thanks to its high level of unemployment (Q3-2018: 23.1%) and stubbornly high inflation (April 2019: 11.37%).
In the sphere of economics, misery tends to flow from high inflation, high borrowing costs, and unemployment. The most effective way to mitigate that misery is economic growth.

Nigeria’s Misery Index: Extending the concept of the Misery Index to Nigeria’s geopolitical zones revealed that the inhabitants of the South-West are the happiest, led by Osun state with an index estimate of 10.33. Despite being the money belt of the nation due to its oil deposits, the South-South region comes in as the most miserable region (led by Akwa Ibom state) with an index estimate of 20.58. This is because the region has a considerably higher rate of unemployment (c.30.58%) relative to other regions. It also explains the persistent restiveness in the region in response to perceived marginalization by the government.

UNEMPLOYMENT RATE IN NIGERIA
Unmanageable inflation growth is a challenge but just one among the red data the economy is grappling with. Unemployment (plus underemployment) also reached an all-time high of above 55.7 per cent last year just as the weak naira is crushing the purchasing power of an average citizen daily.

CONCLUSION OF MY OPINION
Buhari has shown that he has neither the skill nor the courage nor the will to lead a country as complex as Nigeria. He also does not have the values. Buhari has long faced allegations that he is an ethnocentric and religious bigot for, among many reasons, his lackadaisical handling of the Fulani herdsmen crisis (he is Fulani); his decision to address a linguistically diverse nation in Hausa, a language predominantly spoken in the north; and, by his own confession after his 2015 electoral win, his admission in a small press meeting in the United States that he would address the needs of citizens based on how regions in the country voted.

BusinessMeet The Ceo Of Nigeria’s Most Technologically Advanced Road Transport Company by kennysoftSTUDIO(op): 12:57pm On Jun 22, 2021

Meet Chidi Ajaere the son of Nigeria enterprising couple Edwin and Stella Ajaere.
Chidi Ajaere was born in Benin-City the capital city of Edo State, South-South Nigeria. Married to Chantelle Ajaere, blessed with 4 kids. His parents late Mr. Edwin and stella agaera were gritty entrepreneurs who started up their transport business from nothing in 1998 to provide bus services across Nigerian cities. While growing up, Chidi was introduced to the family business at an early age.

He attended grade school in Benin, Edo state before proceeding to Covenant University Ota, Ogun State for his tertiary education. Chidi furthered his studies at Niagara College, Canada and Griffith University, Australia. Unfortunately, in 2009, Edwin Ajaere was kidnapped and subsequently killed. After the death of his late father Edwin ajaera, chidi ajaera came back to Nigeria took over administration of the company.

BUSINESS AND CAREER:

Off the bat, Chidi set off to completely rebuild the company from the offline, legacy style in which it was run and led a rebranding charge. The company logo and typeface were changed, staff were re-trained, GIGM-branded uniforms were introduced and the company’s entire fleet was fitted with air-conditioning systems. Before that, bus loading protocols and operational dynamics were rudimentary. Everything else was informal and inefficient, partly because the road transport industry in Nigeria is unregulated.

Business6 Practical Ideas To Spark Your Video Creativity by kennysoftSTUDIO(op): 6:07pm On Aug 10, 2020
6 practical Ideas to Spark Your Video Creativity

We talk a lot about the different types of videos you can create for your business. You know, the usual. Brand videos, social videos, testimonials, and the like. But what do you do when you can’t think of any more ideas? Or, what if you’re trying to make a social video and you can’t get inspired to come up with even 30 seconds of content, never mind a minute and a half?

While there are plenty of tried-and-true video types and tactics, many of which we’ve covered here, sometimes it can be hard to get that much-needed spark of inspiration. Even if you know you’re trying to create a video with a cookie-cutter structure, like a lifestyle video, coming up with something that isn’t just derivative can be hard.

That’s why sometimes you need to think outside the box – or frame, if you will. Here are some excellent, guaranteed “anti-box” tactics you can use to spark your own video creativity!

1. Stock up some hilarity with stock footage.
Stock footage has gotten a bad rap over the years as being overly cheesy, but the truth of the matter is, there’s so much stock footage now, simple stereotypes about it can’t possibly apply. It’s like saying all YouTube videos are the same – it just isn’t possible from a numerical point of view.

However, that doesn’t mean there isn’t plenty of cheesy or silly stock footage out there. Just a few weeks ago, the Los Angeles Chargers used it to great comedic effect, and if you’re looking for some inspiration for your next video, you can too.

Try scrolling through a “bad stock footage” library to find clips that make you buckle over laughing. Then, use that footage as a jumping off point to create clever, self aware social videos to promote on your company’s Instagram or Facebook.

2. Interview your employees (and customers) for ideas.
Just because you’re the one on your team heading up the video marketing effort doesn’t mean all the ideas have to come from you. Inspiration, after all, can come from all sorts of places – so why not interview your fellow employees and customers on what they love about your company or what stands out to them?

By polling your customers and employees about their favorite aspects of your business, you can get both an outside, semi-objective view of your company, as well as creative ideas for key elements to focus a video on. You can even ask them about pain points or negative aspects of your industry that you can address in a new video.

Plus, if you capture these interviews on camera, you might have enough material for a traditional customer testimonial or employee spotlight video, which are powerful video marketing tools in their own right.

3. Create employee profiles to generate docu-style content.
If you’re feeling particularly documentarian, you could even create a company profile and follow an employee around all day with a camera (with their permission, of course). If you do this with a couple employees in different departments, you could create a video series like this brilliant one from SNL that focuses on different aspects of your business:

You don’t have to work in the high-speed world of live television to have a compelling and interesting company profile story. Actually, if you work in a lesser-known industry, your company profiles might be more interesting because they’re less documented. Everyone says they don’t want to know “how the sausage gets made,” but do you really think they wouldn’twatch if you filmed a documentary about it?

(Maybe don’t make a documentary on actual sausage making if that’s what you do. Remember – this is just an expression…)

4. Change the perspective of your storyteller.
Want to make something less traditional?

Making a company profile from the point of view of you or your company’s CEO might seem like a no-brainer. But this has been done to death – maybe you’ve already created that specific company profile and want to create something different. Changing the perspective of the storyteller can help you tell a more unique story, turning this format on its head.

What does your company look like from the eyes of the office dog? What does Rufus see at work? Friendly, loving humans working together and having fun? A comfortable place to call home? If you’re trying to recruit new employees or win over online fans, those seem like some great selling points.

What about a customer that’s frustrated with the service other companies are providing? What do they see when they work with you? Maybe you can show what’s different or unique about your product or service from their point of view. You could even use actual customer testimonials to help with this angle.

Depending on the type of business you manage, you could even take the perspective of an inanimate object. For example, if you’re a hip and trendy startup, you might have beer (or kombucha) on tap. What does your office look like from the P.O.V of this new-age water cooler? While silly, it could be a fun way to show off your company’s culture and employees’ unique personalities. Just remember – no drinking while on set (unless it’s kombucha).

5. Watch other industry videos or video formats.
Inspiration comes from everywhere – but if you get inspiration from your peers, you want to be careful not to carbon-copy exactly what they’re doing. That’s why you should watch plenty of narrative films, documentaries, TV shows, or even marketing videos from companies in other industries for outside inspiration.

You might see a film technique from a Netflix show that gets you really excited to incorporate in your own marketing video, or you might get inspired by a popular Youtube personality with a cool format for his show that you want to emulate for your company. These type of inspirations are referred to as homage, or if you’re taking a comedic spin on the format or technique in question, parody, and can be great starting points to build off of.

These homages and parodies can be fun for social videos, or used to create buzz-worthy advertisements. Even some of the best lifestyle and brand videos include cinematic homage in them. When trying to convey a specific feeling, one of the best shorthands is to borrow from the greats that have come before.

6. Take a run or go for a drive.
A lot of research and first-hand accounts have covered how exercise or changing up your environment in general can help spark creativity. If you find yourself in a creative rut or stuck against a wall creatively on your latest video project, go for a run. Even going for a walk can help stimulate new ideas. Both are great ways to shake up the landscape and get your creativity flowing. Plus, the physical exercise helps superpower your brain, too.

If you hate running, you can also try going for a drive. The adrenaline that comes with watching beautiful environments fly by, or the tedium of being stuck in traffic, can sometimes help get your creative gears turning in ways you wouldn’t expect. You might even catch a radio segment that gives you some inspiration for an industry video, or a hook from a catchy song might inspire visuals for a brand video.

You don’t just have to create a new type of video to be creative – sometimes just the sheer act of creativity is enough to stimulate new ideas in a familiar format.

BusinessEffect Of Coronavirus To Businesses And How To Cashout From The Pandemic by kennysoftSTUDIO(op): 10:06pm On May 01, 2020
EFFECT OF CORONAVIRUS TO BUSINESSES

In the history of mankind, lots of diseases have come and gone with different symptoms and in many cases, they have few similarities. One of the deadliest pandemics that has struck the surface of the earth is the Spanish Flu. Lasting from January 1918 to December 1920, it infected 500 million people – about a quarter of the world’s population at the time. The death toll is estimated to have been anywhere from 17 million to 50 million, and possibly as high as 100 million, making it one of the deadliest pandemics in human history, behind the Black Death.

Today we have a similar case we are fighting – the outbreak of the virus known as Coronavirus nicknamed COVID-19. What exactly is Coronavirus? What effect does it have worldwide?
Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by a new virus. The disease causes respiratory illness (like the flu) with symptoms such as a cough, fever, and in more severe cases, difficulty breathing. Coronavirus disease spreads primarily through contact with an infected person when they cough or sneeze. It also spreads when a person touches a surface or object that has the virus on it, then touches their eyes, nose, or mouth. You can protect yourself by washing your hands frequently, avoiding touching your face, and avoiding close contact (1 meter or 3 feet) with unwell people. There’s currently no vaccine to prevent coronavirus disease (COVID-19). Around the globe, scientists in various laboratories have been working continuously to find a possible vaccine to assist fight this virus that has taken the world by surprise. Never was it imagined or thought of that in the first quarter of 2020 the world would be held standstill without any war as the cause but a pandemic. It has gone global with cases in over 150 countries.

The effect of COVID-19 on a worldwide scale is huge. Beginning with human lives, as at when this article is written, there are over 1.8 million cases and 118,000 deaths, with the United States of America accounting for over 570,000 confirmed cases and 23,000 deaths. Human lives are affected seriously in Italy where a minimum of five hundred persons die daily due to COVID-19 spread. It has affected all major football leagues around the world and has pushed the season’s league calendar than expected, and this shift has affected other sports tournaments scheduled for this year such as EURO 2020. It was meant to take place from June 12 – July 12, 2020, but is now scheduled to take place next year from June 11 – July 11, 2020. Other events such as the Tour de France, Formula 1 Grand Prix in Vietnam, and even the summer Olympics Tokyo 2020 is now postponed for next year. It isn’t just the sports events but the effect of COVID-19 on the business sponsorships attached to each of these events. How long the epidemic will last and its economic impact is difficult to predict. As a result, the stock and bond markets have entered a period of extreme volatility, leaving investors to wonder: What does COVID-19 mean for the global markets and economy? It turns out to be that the COVID-19 pandemic has given a huge blow to businesses worldwide. Yes, it has. Let’s look at some of them.

Effects of COVID-19 on Businesses.
1. Airline Industry: After the presence of COVID-19 in various countries around the globe, governments affected by its presence issued an immediate lockdown of all airports thereby grounding flights coming in or going out of the country. International carriers got the major hit financially than local carriers as well such as Emirate Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Ethiopian Airlines, Lufthansa Airlines, Turkish Airlines; just to name a few. They are all seeking a bailout fund to assist in running operations during this period. Even the International Air Transport Association (IATA) updated its analysis of the financial impact on global revenue, counting its losses for the passenger business to the tune of $63 billion.
On the other side of events, top giants in the plane manufacturing
industry – Airbus and Boeing, have grounded major production activities in all their factories thereby creating a decision that may lead to over 15,000 employees becoming unemployed in each company respectively. This same measure has also affected major airline companies around the globe to ask for loans from governments and banks that run into billions of dollars cumulatively, notwithstanding the layoff of jobs that would surely affect many employees as well at the end of the day. Surely anyone can be a victim of circumstances by being laid off a job without a quick replacement at the moment. What does the future hold for many when this pandemic ends? Only time will tell.

EFFECT OF CORONAVIRUS TO BUSINESSES - Corona virus symptoms

2. Hospitality & Travel Industry: These industries are different but, they are closely related because of the similar activities they share. One field that links them together is tourism which is one of the biggest and fastest-growing sectors in the world today and has been considered as a vulnerable industry i.e. in comparison to other industries as a result of the coronavirus outbreak. The effects of COVID-19 to these sectors have affected business transactions and income as well. One of the dimensions in the tourism sector is the use of Cruise ships in creating a getaway holiday on the sea. Just like airlines, cruise ship companies have seen a drop in demand since the novel coronavirus outbreak grew into a pandemic in recent weeks. The top three cruise ship companies in the world – Carnival Corporation & Plc, Royal Caribbean International, and Norwegian Cruise, alongside others have been deeply affected by the outbreak of COVID-19. They have sought for cash infusions that run into billions of dollars to remain solvent after the industry announced a suspension of operations due to the coronavirus pandemic. Unfortunately, some cruise ships such as Diamond Princess, Ruby Princess, Princess Cruises, Oasis of the Seas, Celebrity Infinity, just to name a few got hit by Coronavirus with the presence of a carrier in their midst. Caribbean countries including Antigua, Belize, The Bahamas, Dominica, Grenada, Jamaica, Suriname, St Kitts, St Lucia, St Vincent, and Trinidad have imposed travel restrictions and a few of them also imposed a curfew as a result of the presence of coronavirus in the country.

EFFECT OF CORONAVIRUS TO BUSINESSES - Corona virus symptoms

Globally, this action does not affect the industry alone, it also has a major effect on SME’s that have a business segment locally attached to the major companies in the industry. With a lockdown affecting the closure of businesses and traveling worldwide, entrepreneurs in such fields are bound to face more challenges financially if this crisis lingers because their source of income has suffered as well. Considering the evolving nature of the situation, it is too early to estimate the full impact of the COVID-19 on international tourism. For its initial assessment, the UNWTO (United Nations World Tourism Organization) takes the SARS scenario of 2003 as a benchmark. The UNWTO estimates that in 2020 global international tourist arrivals could decline between 20-30%, down from an estimated growth of 3% to 4% forecast in early January 2020. This could translate into a loss of US$ 30 to 50 billion in spending by international visitors.

3. Supply Chain: There are thousands of small and large production firms with an employment rate ranging from 1,000 – 50,000 that depend on China and Vietnam for pieces of machinery, raw materials and production of goods too. The outbreak of COVID-19 has caused a shaky effect on these businesses thereby causing them to source from other destinations such as India. China is gradually wriggling out of the COVID-19 outbreak in the country with recent statistics at the time of this writing, showing a significant drop in the number of new cases and death. Major factories in China are working round the clock to produce ventilators and face masks for highly affected countries like Italy, Spain, and the USA but it hasn’t changed the fact that lots of big firms such as Samsung, Apple, Microsoft, just to name a few that depend on China for production of spare parts of their products; have looked within and outsourced the production of their phone parts to countries like India and Vietnam. What does it mean for businesses?

How Businesses Can Cope
The effect of COVID-19 is a wildfire that devours anything it touches without showing mercy. As viruses know no borders, the impacts will continue to spread. Lots of businesses in various sectors around the world would surely face financial loss. The use of the internet for work-at-home activities has skyrocketed more than ever with many firms such as news agencies utilizing it effectively by converting a room inside the home of a reporter to a replicated temporary studio. Even phone companies like TECNO mobile have recently launched and sold phones by hosting an online launch event of their recent device CAMON 15 on April 2, 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Various online platforms such as Upwork and Fiverr extend the services of freelancers to companies and individuals that require assistance in carrying out tasks related to working online. If you are an entrepreneur, you can still achieve your business aim by working more online via various social media platforms by creating engaging content on your page. Why? Due to this COVID-19 pandemic, over half of the world population are currently indoors 24/7 round the clock and they are regularly online to keep their minds busy on anything being posted. In essence, businesses can grab this open window of opportunity and make the best use of it.
In summary, the world is at a standstill fighting the COVID-19 virus that is causing rampage daily and causing a large number of financial casualties to economies, businesses, and death to humans that have fallen victims to the virus. It is a disheartening situation locking yourself at home with little provisions pending when the government would lift the lockdown, and the reason is that you want to be safe from the virus and alive at the end of it all. When will that be? We do not know. We all pray for this pandemic to end.

EFFECT OF CORONAVIRUS TO BUSINESSES - Corona virus symptoms

The effect of it on various businesses globally is still rising but businesses can adjust to these present circumstances by making use of online platforms to ensure the objective/goal of the firm during Q1 of 2020 isn’t defeated. Until this pandemic comes to an end, we all need to adhere to these precautionary:

EFFECT OF CORONAVIRUS TO BUSINESSES - Corona virus symptoms

• Stay at home if your area is under lockdown
• Wash your hands regularly. Sanitize your hands always
• Maintain social distancing
• If you observe any warning symptoms, go to your doctor.

CelebritiesMajor Benefits Of Failure By TONTO DIKEH After Failed Marriage With Ex Husband by kennysoftSTUDIO(op): 6:46pm On Aug 20, 2019
More than anything else, we all want to be successful in all aspects of life. No one would expect things to get worse or desire to go through hardships and failures. Yet, nobody can escape the hand of fate unfortunately. We’re all forced to experience serious struggles at some stages in our lives. Many people decide to give up and accept failures as soon as they feel the pain and sufferings. As a result of these, they end up with fear and doubt, and gradually lose hope and ambitions. Only some keep trying when things get tough no matter how hard or how long it might be. For them, there is no permanent failure; rather, these are only regarded as temporary defeats pushing them beyond their limits, building their strengths and cultivating their hidden talents.

1. Keep us humble

Imagine a life when we succeed in many aspects of our life. What is it like to be in that position? We will be so thrilled of course but when facing no challenges compared to our struggling fellows I believe we will soon become haughty, arrogant, boastful and superior to others. Temporary defeat plays an important role, teaching us that we aren’t important than others. Through temporary defeats we see our weakness and shortcomings – what need to change and how and when. This is what success can rarely give us and help us truly understand ourselves. Failing is hurt. Not only does it causes emotional turmoil and upset, it bruises our self-esteem and ego but it’s worth it because it helps us become authentic and focus on what really matters. Moreover, it gives us valuable time to sit back and reflect on everything, what we have done wrong and how to start anew. Through the failures, we learn to be humble and grounded and won’t act arrogant next time when we succeed at something.

2. Give us experience and knowledge

No one can grow without ever learning. People can learn from school, through their teachers, family members and friends but there is nothing more valuable than learning from their first-hand experiences. Temporary defeats are a learning process that we all need to go through without an exception. If you’ve been fortunate enough to fail so many times at young ages, be thankful for these gifts of experience and knowledge because you will soon attain the wisdom you need for your long journey ahead.

3. Build our resilience

Fear often kills dream while failures destroy confidence. But if you don’t give up and don’t give in, it’s when you start building your resilience. You face your own fear and reject the idea of permanent failure. You only see it as your temporary defeats so-called the transformative events which are essential for your personal growth.

4. Push us to take actions

When life hit you hard and you lose today, it doesn’t mean you will keep falling towards that direction except you allow it to happen. Your fate is actually in your hand and it’s up to you to set the sails towards your destination. Wishing will not bring you success but actions will. You can accomplish nothing until you take actions. The powerful part of having failed is that if you have a burning desire to win, failures will hardly be a barrier between you and your success. They push you to roll up your sleeves, work harder and fight stronger. As soon as you overcome your fear, you become more courageous and determined. And from this point on wards nothing can hinder you from achieving what you aim for.
just like the words of my favorite quote:
It is impossible to live without failing at something, unless you live so cautiously that you might as well not have lived at all, in which case you have failed by default.”

CelebritiesStop Trying To Be Accepted.dare To Be Different. by kennysoftSTUDIO(op): 6:24pm On Aug 20, 2019
As a human, we all want to be liked and accepted. When someone doesn’t like you, it bruises your ego and self-confidence and the voice of self-criticism start running through your mind every minute – all in the hope of finding the answers that help make people like or accept you. ‘‘Why don’t they like me?’’ ‘‘Did I do something wrong?’’ ‘‘Weren’t I friendly enough?’’ ‘Am I too different”, etc. Thousands of questions tire you out and weaken yourself day by day till the point you decide to fit in the mold and please others to gain their approvals and acceptance. This could happen either at work, school and social settings or anywhere you are involved. Rather than being authentic and true to yourself, you try to be appealing to others by not speaking up what matter to you, acting like everyone around you, putting people’s needs first or going great length to avoid conflict or argument. At some points, pleasing people become your mission and their approvals are like drugs that make you euphoric and want more.

It’s always natural to want more of the thing that makes you feel good right? However, the more you rely on someone or something to make you feel confident and happy, the more you lose your independence and a strong sense of self. The consequence of shifting power to others and diminishing your own will be greater than you could imagine because it’s when you begin to lose control of your life and are easily manipulated.

‘‘A truly strong person doesn’t need the approval of others any more than a lion needs the approval of sheep’’
- Vernon Howard

We are all different in some way and that’s a part of what makes the world such a beautiful place. Life would be really boring to live if everything is the same and everybody is alike and thinks or acts in a certain way. That said, we still see that people tend to view what is different as something ugly and wrong in spite of the urge to embrace diversity around the world

Nowadays, it’s not unusual to see many people are pretending to be someone they are not in order to be accepted and socially included. As time goes by, it starts to look like a burden to them because no matter how they try, there is no way to stop disapprovals or rejections from others and the emotional exhaustion is always hard to bear. If you believe in you, love and accept yourself, and value your identity and uniqueness, you are in control of your happiness and success. The need to please others to obtain their approvals will soon no longer exist.

“If you are always trying to be normal, you will never know how amazing you can be.”

– Maya Angelou

Remember, everything in life comes with a price and being different is not an exemption. When you set yourself apart, your life path might be a bit rocky but in the end you gain more than what you have to lose.

1. YOUR CIRCLE DECREASES IN SIZE BUT INCREASES IN VALUE

When you stay true to yourself, there will be no pretending on your side. You comfortably speak up for what you believe in and confidently do things in your own way. Of course, people are normally judgmental and they might dislike you for your differences. They may even mock you for your way of doing things but you know what? You can never escape judgement or discrimination but how you react to it that matters most. What they think of you doesn’t matter as long as you are doing the right thing and you are happy with what you do. When you value yourself and your time, you will not waste it to please others. Who understand you and value you will always stand by your side no matter how different you are. For those who don’t, simply let them go. Getting rid of those people will reduce the size of your network but will let you realize who your best friends are. Quality always beats quantity.

‘‘Having few true friends is better than having a large network of pretentious friends. Quality beats quantity all the time.’’
- Hussein Nisbab

2. GET THE RESPECT YOU DESERVE

Believe it or not, nobody respects those who don’t respect themselves. When you are not comfortable in your own skin, you tend to blend in the background, value others’ opinions more than your own point of view. You also try hard to impress others by acting like them, agreeing with what they say and second-guessing yourself when they disagree with you. Your approval-seeking behaviors might make you think that people will like and accept you more. Unfortunately, it’s often opposite. Just because people agree with you on something or laugh at your jokes doesn’t mean they like you. Even worse, at the back of their mind, they might disrespect you because your behaviors only show your insecurity and low self-esteem.

In order to shift what people think of you, it must start with you and the way you treat yourself. When you break out of your shell and dare to stand out, you accept the reality that not everyone will get on with you and that’s ok. Keep in mind that ducks fly in flocks and eagles always fly alone and you’d better be alone than being with those who hinder your progress.

‘‘Don’t lower your expectations to fit into the world. You were born to stand out’’
- Srijita Datta

The moments you recognize yourself as a special individual, you start allowing yourself to raise your voice and stand up for what you believe. You stop doing things that you don’t want to. When you demonstrate your authenticity, decisiveness, and boldness, people might still dislike you but they will have to respect you for the qualities that you have.

3. SUCCESS IS IN YOUR HANDS

Being different gives you a huge leg up. You have more courage to follow your own path with a fair amount of confidence. Instead of following the well-worn path, you dare to take risks and try new things with energy and passion. While people run away from obstacles, you embrace them as if they are fabulous opportunities for you to grow and thrive. To you, the fear of boredom and being unsuccessful is bigger than the fear of being rejected or unaccepted. Your focus in life is more on you and your goals than what people think of you or whether they accept you or not. With this mindset and quality, your path to success is absolutely in your hands and you will achieve whatever you want in life.

“The person who follows the crowd will usually go no further than the crowd. The person who walks alone is likely to find himself in places no one has ever seen before.”
– Albert Einstein

BusinessThe Future Of Video Production by kennysoftSTUDIO(op): 2:13pm On Aug 13, 2019
Video production is a necessity for many small businesses and large enterprises, as marketing videos allow these companies to enable a large marketing push to the video crowd, and that crowd is huge. As of March 2015, the top 10 viral ad campaigns include the top-rated Budweiser commercial that has reached over 44 million viewers, to the number ten spot, a Skittles commercial that has reached nearly 5 million viewers. Obviously, any company would love to have a video on this top 10 list. But as hot as video currently is, what is the future of video production? Will it continue to surge forward, or will it be replaced by another type of marketing media? In this article, we will take a look at current video trends, as we as predictions on the future of video production.

1.Current Video Trends
Video is one of the hottest internet trends of 2015, and the demand for video production is high. According to a study by Cisco, video will consume 79% of all internet traffic by 2018.
Mobile video is on the increase as well. Currently, mobile accounts for over 30% of all video views (also accounts for around 40% of all YouTube traffic). People love to be able to watch videos on-the-go, and mobile provides the platform that fills that need. From 2012-2014, mobile video viewing grew over 400%. It is no surprise that this trend is expected to continue as we move into the next few years. As newer devices are released, more people will move toward mobile devices for watching videos.

2.4K Video Production
Video production is hitting new innovative technical advances as well. For instance, 4K video is one of the hottest current video topics. If you are considering 4K video production, it will involve some changes, but the long-term effects could be worth it. You will need to upgrade your cameras to newer models capable of shooting video at 4K resolution. You may also have to upgrade the hardware of your computer in order to be able to handle the intense effects of the 4K video. Although video cards made in the past 2 years are capable of handling 4K video, most computers are still not capable.
While not everything is 4K compatible yet, most platforms are moving in that direction. YouTube and Netflix are both now 4K compatible, so it would appear that if you go ahead and start creating content in 4K, you will be ahead of the crowd, as 4K moves into the preferred format status. It also helps for future compatibility. While it may not be that difficult to transcode an HD movie into 4K format, why not go ahead and shoot the video in 4K? That way you don’t have to worry about it in the future.

3.4D Video Production
While 4D is certainly not new technology, (1984’s The Sensorium was the world’s first commercial 4D film), 4D has been creating quite a surge in video production in recent years. 4D effects are typically physical effects that occur at specified times during a video. For instance, smoke, lights, wind, vibration and smell are just a few of the effects one may experience during a 4D video. The increase in quality of special effects combined with technology are helping 4D make a push as well. Viewer interaction is a way to keep the viewers interested and focused on the video’s message at all times.

4.Conclusion
Video production isn’t going anywhere except forward. There is no sign of decline in use, and technology is constantly being innovated. Visual marketing is one of the best methods to get people interested in a product or service. You can only explain so much using words, but when you can actually show people, it’s a much more effective pitch. Video and technology will continue to change and evolve, but the basic principles will remain, and video production will be needed for many years to come.

BusinessVoice-overs: What They Are And What They Do For Your Videos by kennysoftSTUDIO(op): 1:48pm On Aug 12, 2019

You’re looking out over a sweeping landscape from an aerial view, mesmerized by the heights and gorgeous cliffside forest below you, when an epic, Morgan Freeman or David Attenborough style voice booms out from somewhere behind the camera: “Nature… the great outdoors…”

That’s called a voice-over, often abbreviated to V.O., and is one of the most well-known and most-often used film tricks. Whether used as a narration device, a shorthand tool for commercials, or as a comedic effect in countless TV, movies, and short viral videos, most people are familiar with the voice-over technique thanks to its prevalence in pop culture and media.

While most people know what voice-over is, less commonly known is how to do it well. Or really anything about when and why you would use voice-over in some movies and marketing videos, and not others.

So what makes a voice-over great? How do you plan a video around voice-over, or is it the other way around? When do you use voice-over instead of dialogue or music? How do you pick the right voice actor for your video’s voice-over?

We’re going to answer all of those questions below, so without further adieu, let’s dive into the wonderful world of voice-overs!

How do you make your own voice-over?
Have you ever tried to create and implement your own voice-over on one of your videos, but been confused on how or when you should do it? For first-timers, it can be tricky to know how to put a voice-over together as part of your video. Here’s a quick step by step guide:

Before you begin, script out your voice-over by writing down the words that will be spoken to go along with whatever visuals you are planning to shoot for your video. You should have a good sense of what you want to see while your voice actor is reading the lines, so the visuals will correspond with what’s being said.
Then, you will film your video. One common mistake you might make is trying to record the voice over in front of the camera while filming your video. The best part about voice-over is that you don’t actually have to record it while you are on set.
Instead, you record your voice-over as a separate audio track and apply it over the visuals during the editing process in post production. That way, you aren’t limited to only using the visuals where the audio lines up. If you were, it would make your video very difficult to edit.
To record your voice-over, you will hire your voice actor and book time in a recording studio. This can be a soundproof booth in your editing room, an actual mix-studio that’s part of a larger editing bay you rent out, or just a good microphone and audio recorder in a quiet part of your company office to record.
Depending on how high-tech your booth is, you can either record the voice-over separately and overlay it over the video once done, or you can play the video while your voice actor is reading, so your editor and director can sync up the audio and visuals in real time, making cuts to the script or giving direction on pacing in real time depending on what’s needed for the pace of the video.
Once you have synced the voice-over audio with the video, you do your final mix, where you adjust the voice-over’s sound levels with the rest of the video’s sound tracks. These other soundtracks could be diegetic sound, audio recorded on-set that’s part of the story like an actor’s dialogue lines or special sound effects, or background music, which plays alongside the voice-over lines.
Then, add any title screens, end credits, and subtitles, and finish your video!
What makes voice-over great?
A great voice-over will, first and foremost, emotionally communicate what your video is about. Whether it’s a narrator telling a story, asking the audience a question, or rallying a community to a cause, the voice-over should be passionate, clear, concise, and most importantly, important to the narrative.

For example, if your voice-over is just describing is happening on screen, without adding new context or details to what we are seeing that we might not otherwise know, then it doesn’t belong in your video. Just describing what an audience can see themselves does not provide value to the video, and it’s why many first-time screenwriters and filmmakers are advised not to rely on or use voice-over at all to tell their stories.

The same is true for voice-over in advertisements and marketing videos. If your ad has a narrator or celebrity spokesman, that person’s voice-over should be important to the storytelling of the ad or video, not just explaining what you are seeing.

To put it simply, your voice-over be all about your video’s WHY. In the same way that your video should have a purpose to exist, your voice-over should have a purpose to exist in your video. This can be different depending on what goal you are trying to achieve and how you are using the voice-over.

As an example, if your video’s written script copy is the most important part, then you can use the accompanying visuals to underline certain key value points your voice-over is making.

Meanwhile, if your video’s visuals are the most important part of your ad, then your voice-over should be emphasizing and adding more context or extra details to what’s being seen on screen. And if your voice-over isn’t necessary to communicate this video’s core idea, then maybe you don’t need voice over for this video at all.

How can you plan your video around voice-over?
Simple: by writing your voice-over into the script.

As a rule of thumb, before you go out and shoot anything, you should script out what you want your video to look and sound like. This is good advice for almost every type of commercial or marketing video you shoot, even if you are just writing down the concept and certain visuals you want to see, but especially if you plan to include any voice-over.

For any time that you intend to use voice-over as a central part of your video, you should write it down ahead of time. As part of that same script, you should also write down any corresponding visuals you imagine would go along with said voice-over.

As an example, you don’t want to go out and film a bunch of shots of nature and have your voice-over be about how cheap and affordable your services are. And by contrast, you don’t want your video’s visuals to be all shots of your company’s processes in action when the voice-over is all about community and the importance of your customers.

By aligning the voice-over text with the visuals that go with it, you can streamline your entire video production process. You will already know what footage you need to capture on the day, and your assembly edit will be that much easier to put together because you’ve already mapped out the key movements, or structure, of how you want your video to flow ahead of time.

How do you know when your video needs a voice-over or not?
There may be times where you are struggling to come up with voice-over for a certain video at the script level. Or you might be making one of the many video types we talk about and make for our clients that don’t require any voice-over at all, and as such, your video doesn’t actually need any pre-written voice-over.

In those instances, the use of voice-over or not should be dictated by the script. If you are writing a script with scenes in it where actors do all the talking, you most likely don’t need a narrator or voice-over – except if you are having a narrator come in at the end of the video to emphasize a key selling point or value proposition, which is totally at your discretion.

Or let’s say you are creating a brand or lifestyle video, where you might just want to create a certain feeling or vibe with your video, in which case a voice-over might pull you out of the feeling you are trying to create. In that instance, you wouldn’t write any voice-over into your script at all. It’s all about what best communicates your video’s why.

On the flip side of that, there may be times where you don’t write a voice-over into a script, but you find your video might need it later. Not every voice-over has to be written and planned out ahead of time. It’s usually better when it is, but there will be those times you just happen to have a bunch of good footage and you just need a little voice-over to assemble it all together in a cohesive manner.

This could happen if you go out and film some great footage on the day, but feel your video is missing some important context in the edit room. Like you’re trying to make an event video, and wanted to expand on what’s seen on screen by sharing how many people attended and why this event was important to your company.

What about using voice-over in an interview or docu-style video?
Technically speaking, an audio track is only considered a voice-over if it is recorded separately without any accompanying video, usually for the express purpose of being a literal voice talking over other visuals.

However, in a lot of docu-style videos, there will be interview segments that you want to cut up and play over other visuals in a similar manner to a voice-over. In this instance, you can think of your interview audio tracks similar to a voice-over, in that you are going to cut them and use them throughout your video to better tell your story.

In this case, there may be instances where you might interview your company’s CEO and want to use an inspiring quote of theirs over the beginning of your video without ever showing their face. In that instance, it would definitely be considered a voice-over in the traditional sense.

How do you pick the right voice/voice actor?
Picking the right voice-actor for your video is more about a voice’s feeling and tone than it is about that voice-actor being the most talented or well-known. Obviously, some actors have better voices than others – take the epic voices of Morgan Freeman and David Attenborough as examples. But not all videos require the epic narration of such prestigious caliber. It all depends on the type of video you are creating.

For example, if your video has more of a laid back vibe, you might want more chill, surfer-like voice to sooth your audience and bring them to your level. Or if you have a more intense work-out product, you may want a manly, gruff sounding voice to get your viewers pumped about the benefits of your extreme brand of fitness! You might want a soft, bubbly voice to advertise a kid’s product – or an actual kid’s voice to communicate the genuine excitement of a cool new toy!

In voice-casting, just like regular casting, it’s all about the attitude and tone that a voice can bring, and whether that fits with your video. You don’t need the best actor – just the one that fits the video, story, or product the best. You do want to make sure they can capture all the nuance and emotion of your script, however. Nothing is worse than a flat, monotone voice-over that doesn’t inspire or hype anyone up, but puts them to sleep.

BusinessHow Can Local Video Marketing Help Your Small Business? by kennysoftSTUDIO(op): 1:30pm On Jul 23, 2019
As a small business, your marketing and advertising budget is usually pretty tight. It may be hard to justify spending thousands of dollars or more on a video marketing campaign.

But video advertising doesn’t cost nearly as much as it used to, and you don’t have to shell out major league cash for a national TV spot when you’re just trying to get some foot traffic to your brick-and-mortar business.

In actuality, if you’re looking to launch a local marketing campaign, video is one of the most powerful (and affordable) tools you can use because of its potential for re purposing, for optimization, and for showing off your location and atmosphere – two must-dos when it comes to local marketing.

But before we get into all that, let’s review how local marketing works.

What is local marketing?
As a small business, you might already be familiar with local marketing. If you’re not, here’s a quick recap:

Local marketing targets the community around your business, with messaging targeting the demographics of that community. While bigger companies with larger ad budgets can spend hundreds of thousands to showcase their ads on network TV and across the internet to demographics from countries all over the world, local business owners can’t – and actually shouldn’t. Unless you’re an eCommerce company, you should be hyper-focusing your small business marketing to customers geographically near you.

If you’re a store that requires customers to actually walk on-site to do business, this is doubly true. You need to plan your marketing strategy around hyper-targeting areas within a certain mile radius from you and incentivize locals to spread the word. You typically want to focus your target demographic to a radius of those customers who live within 10 miles or less.

In the same way your marketing covers a physical map, you need your business to cover a mental and emotional map inside the minds of those within your community if you want to turn them into repeat customers. This can look quite different from just programmatic ad-buys on social media. You might be sending mailers offering coupons for first-time purchases, sponsoring local neighborhood events, or even buying ads in… a newspaper?!

There’s a digital side to local marketing as well. You’ll want to optimize your Google SEO ads with your businesses’ information, including your business address, company contact information, and photos of your location online. This is where video can help.

How does video play into local marketing?
Video is especially helpful for local marketing efforts because of its visual nature. In order for any customer to branch out and try your small business for the first time, they have certain psychological biases that need to be overcome. Visualizing a place can help anyone feel more comfortable getting in a car and going there, because they can imagine what the experience is like.

In a local marketing video, you can highlight the specifics that matter to locals, like the location, the size of your building, the opinions of neighbors in the community, the ease of getting there, and the overall atmosphere of your establishment.

Video is especially useful for franchise owners looking to advertise their specific location. Where the larger Kilimanjaro fast-food ad campaigns are targeting every Kilimanjaro fast-food customer, your local video will target those in your area to get them to come to your location. Show them why your Kilimanjaro fast-food is the best.

How can I start using video in my local campaigns?
Using video in any marketing campaign is all about what your goal is and where you post it. For example, if you have an amazing new product video, but it’s sitting on your editor’s desktop, it doesn’t help you get new business.

If you’re trying to attract new customers to your business and your video is sitting pretty on your website homepage, it still isn’t going to help you. How is anyone who doesn’t already know you able to see it? Sure, visitors who find you will engage with the video once they’re on your page, but you skipped a vital first step entirely.

So let’s break down how local video marketing can help you depending on your goal.

Attracting New Customers with Local Video Marketing
If you’re new to the area, you’re going to want to establish yourself, and video is a great way to do just that. Start by taking a video of your new store, highlighting the renovated interior and familiar exteriors for the locals, as well as what your new business will bring to the community.

This could be presented in a couple of different ways:

You could shoot a day in the life video showing off the process of running the store from open to close or featuring behind the scenes footage leading up to your grand opening.
You can create a lifestyle video to show off the specific vibe your small business is going for.
You can even create a FAQ or product video to answer questions about your new store and what your selling.
Have a camera crew at the ready for any grand opening event so you can turn it into an event video to get the rest of the neighborhood excited about this new, cool spot in town.
Now, upload that video to YouTube, as well as to your personal website, and link it to your Google business profile. Make sure you include important local keywords and contact information so the video can be found by people in your area. This includes your zip code, specific neighborhood names, and other nearby locations. Optimize your organic search results by using video transcriptions and local info.

Next, try targeting your video with paid search ads specific to those zip codes and nearby locations on Google, so anyone searching for “new restaurants in [area]” will find you. If your ad budget allows it, expand this to social media as well, but keep the search radius super local. This may not be the most cost-efficient, as you’ll be getting fewer clicks per view, but you’ll know the clicks you are getting are actual potential customers.

Engaging and Nurturing Repeat Business with Local Video Marketing
Attracting new customers is only the first step. In order for local video marketing to be a success, you need to create repeat business. You’re probably already in a position where you’re looking to expand your number of regulars and grow your company’s revenue.

In this instance, you’re going to want to get creative with your video marketing. First step is creating multiple videos. Try to find a service or video partner that can create a series of high-quality videos for you at an affordable rate. This will usually involve a video team coming out and creating a lot of content in just a few short, efficient shoot days.

In order to engage with visitors and nurture locals into repeat business, you need to provide value to them with your video content.

Try creating social content videos for the locals who follow your business on social media. They could be about new dishes or drinks if you’re a bar or restaurant, coupon codes or time-sensitive offerings on select products, holiday-specific sales for fashion retailers, or other assorted perks for locals.
Make a customer spotlight video to show off positive results for a personal training or salon business, or highlight the camaraderie and good times between your patrons if you own a bar or restaurant.
Partner with friendly customers to create product review videos, where you poll first-timers or loyal patrons about your various products or services. You can even offer a contest for your followers to create their own product review videos and submit them for a prize, like a free meal or discounted product.
Try creating a tips and tricks or tutorial video if your business or service is new to the area. For example, if your small business is a new VR arcade, use these types of videos to teach newcomers how the games work, while showing off your gear.
Create welcome and thank you videos for the customers who do support you to show you care. By being an active and grateful member of the community, you’re more likely to earn their support.
Create local guide content for newcomers or tourists looking to learn about your area. By helping to create videos about your neighborhood, you include yourself in the dialogue, and can be featured (or feature yourself) as part of any must-sees or must-dos!
If you create any of these videos, you’ll want to share them on your socials, on your homepage, on YouTube, in search and re-targeting ads, and in any email marketing you might already be doing.

Additionally, you can even try for the coveted local TV spot, or find partners like a local movie theater where you can run your video ads before the movie trailers (as most small theaters do these days).

Most importantly, find where people in your community go on the regular. Are there any local blogs or online newspapers you can pitch your videos to? What about local influencers – can you get them to share or star in a video featuring your business? Can you host an event that will bring a local TV station to you?

Once the locals come to you and sign up for your email lists and follow you on social media, you become their go-to source. But until then, you need to get the word out. Video is the best way to do that.
