egift: Nothing was wrong with it. PDP held it down and used it as a means of looting. Buhari's coming has removed the claws of the witches and wizards holding the refineries down. you have forgotten that these refineries were not working at but GEJ made them to work though not full capacity. They have always worked under GEJ. He wanted to do a special TAM by those who built them but their terms weren't ok. They had to resort to inhouse. Is it buhari that did that. Get it that they were working but below 50%. If it is the fear of Buhari why can that fear help the fuel situation? And the security and pipeline break. Gmb has nothing for him. Let him work first. It is regret and shame that is making u guys to look for credit at all cost. He has none for now |

These are the things you get when you put a Dullard in place. most dictators round the world are lacking in knowlede; so they dont want advice, Buhari doesnt want any superior advice, so he wants to run as an administrator. PDP had complained but her voice is being drowned by the propaganda machine of Apc cum Buhari followers aka section of the SW. this is so sad! We have somebody without vision and some are unethically ascribing GEJ's credit to him. What a shame. The security where he made some changes has caused us set backs. There is God. We are lucky GEJ put the relevant structures in place; otherwise, we would have been in a mess. GMB is a Disaster! Confirmed DD |

Realisticman: 250000, 400000 barrels of crude oil stolen daily! The president must be aware! But Nepotism, slave mentality and ethno- religious bias have so be clouded some of us that shamelessly still come out to defend that rogue and his cohorts. Imagine what that amount could have done to develop a region in Nigeria. How can that be? Yes there is oil theft, which hasnt stopped. It is about 40,000 BPD, which is high but not 250,000 or 400,000. What made it to get to 400,000 is the impact of stealing crude; which is shut down of facilities. Agip and Shell could shut down their flow station due to the impact and Nigeria may lose up to 250,000 BPD or more. Shell has a station that produces 150,000bpd; it was almost always shut down due to theft. Let us get our fact. In any case, In Russia the oil theft is 150,000BPD, in Brazil, it is 50,000bpd, in angola, it is 20,000bpd and so on. In Mexico it more than 10,000bpd. that is not a justification for oil theft anyway. I dont have the current figures. |

doctokwus: The sheer incompetence and cluelessness of GEJ,manifested in a monumental failure which several presidents and top govt officials who came across him have been attesting to should be a case of study. The essence of the study is to find out those ingrained factors and behavioural traits in the person of GEJ that produced the unmitigated disaster he turned out to be. Only God knows if he didn't also refused to pick the calls of president Obama when he was in one of his ...states. Is that why we now have a reverse gear in the fight against boko haram? |
Politics › Re: Buhari's Presidency - Two Months Of Indisputable Success by Kenobus: 7:43am On Jul 31, 2015 |
It is really sad that some people want to give credit to Buhari where he has not done anything. The only area he has done something is giving us a set back which is in Security. GEJ has done these things before he left. He fixed power, the refineries were working and he set out to make them more functional. Look at the fuel situation today, Buhari has no solution to it. We buy petrol for N100 and more unless you go and queue in major stations. If Lagos is like that imagine what is happening in other places. It is so sad that we dont want to hold on to truth. propaganda cant help us. Buhari made some silly mistake in security and we are paying for it. He is grandstanding on corruption without any evidence so far. HE HAS BEEN INTIMIDATING PDP; NOT ONE APC GOVERNOR HAS BEEN ARRESTED SAVE THE Nyako that already had a case. It is so sad! We must give kudos to GEJ for putting enough structures in place, otherwise we would have been in a total mess by now. Buhari should wake up. How can a he go on without a secretary and somebody is talking of credits to him? even Tinubu said it that he is on a honeymoon! What else? |
Politics › Re: Buhari's Presidency - Two Months Of Indisputable Success by Kenobus: 7:34am On Jul 31, 2015 |
PassingShot: 4. Serious Undergoing Efforts to Recover Our Stolen Money: FIGHT AGAINST CORRUPTION Before now, the mantra was "stealing is not corruption". Now it is "Stealing Is Now Corruption" and all treasury looters have started feeling the heat.
Apart from efforts being made locally in this regard, it was the other major reason the president was invited to USA. Despite what the wailers will have us believe, PMB himself has recently said that he has received from USA, some documents that will assist Nigeria in tracking and recovering our stolen money from the looters. Read it here please http://www.punchng.com/news/us-gave-buhari-names-of-oil-thieves-source/ .
Similar efforts are being coordinated with UK, Switzerland, France and others. Read here also http://www.punchng.com/news/buhari-traces-looted-funds-to-uk-switzerland-others/
Is it not then an absurdity to read many wailers shouting blue murder whenever we read that EFCC or DSS invites some treasury thieves for questioning? It is absurd because every sane person knows that PMB/VPYO campaigned on the three main cardinal points of ending insurgency, fighting corruption and improving the economy. So, if he fails to go after those who have stolen their future and that of their unborn generations, will the president be deemed successful in his campaign promise?
5. Refineries now Working: I know many including some PMB supporters will be quick to point me to the president statement that he didn't do anything to make the refineries work. That is another sterling quality of the president but wait, I have some pertinent questions for you.
* Did NNPC/GEJ not tell us in Feb 2015 that N99bn was needed by Nigerian engineers to fix the refineries or not as contained here? http://www.punchng.com/business/business-economy/nigerian-engineers-to-repair-refineries-for-n99bn-nnpc/
* Did NNPC and GEJ's team not tell us in March of this year that $550 million was needed to fix the refinery or not? give us as contained here? http://thenationonlineng.net/new/nnpc-to-repair-refineries-with-550m/
* On March 6, 2015 (before the election), did GEJ/NNPC not tell us that refineries will not work before 2016 or not? http://nationalmirroronline.net/new/refineriesll-be-back-on-stream-2016-nnpc/
There is no report anywhere that any of the requested sums was paid by the FG to NNPC, yet the refineries have started working!
The fact remains that, had GEJ won the election, the refineries would not have worked, even in 2016. We traveled that deceitful routes with jonathan many times before.
The fact that PMB is known to be on a mission on corruption; with NNPC the number one priority, is what has made NNPC to quickly put its acts together and bring the refineries on board.
Btw, I already did a comprehensive thread on this here https://www.nairaland.com/2392387/buhari-not-jonathan-responsible-refineries
6. Improved Electricity: Only the bigots will deny the fact that electricity has improved compared to GEJ's era. The miracle we're witnessing here is similar to what is happening with refineries. The Transmission Company of Nigeria has continued to achieve one peak or the other since the coming of PMB. Is it another coincidence? No, it is not.
Through FG's efforts, there have been improvement in gas supply to the generating stations. These generating stations have been there since GEJ's era, how come they couldn't get gas supply despite government granting suppliers various loans? The answer is that the suppliers and some PHCN big wigs connive to elope with the loans while keeping Nigerians in darkness. But with a new Sheriff in town, they dare not try the same nonsense. End of story. https://www.nairaland.com/2487750/again-tcn-records-new-power#36402389
7. Nigeria Image Boosted: I don't think I need to say much here as comments from notable citizens and international figures are a testament to this fact. Even, PDP has been somehow forced to eat the humble pie when they declared that "Buhari is the only clean man in APC". To many of us, this is a huge difference between the two parties. After all, PMB/VPYO are the representatives of the change we fought for.
To attempt to put things into perspective, take a good look at the Nigeria PMB inherited from the Otuoke man.
God Bless Nairaland God Bless Patriotic Nigerians God Bless PMB/VPYO God Bless Nigeria This sounds like a dream! Buhari hasnt done anything apart from try ing his hands on security which has brought us down from the earlier recorded success. GEJ has finished the refurbishment of the Refineries. He did Power too. I am really surprised that a Nigerian would say that it is Buhari that repaird our refineries. Even the man himself said he didnt do anything in that regard. he said if he say so , he would be a liar. How come somebody else is now giving that to him? Ho can we make progress with people like this? There are two reasons for the Power-1. The rains are here. 2. Gas pipelines vandalisation stopped when Amaechi left office. These things were all fixed by GEJ. For the Reserves, the ban on importation actually started with GEJ, so it his policy. Now, the reserves didnt grow as a result of production but just trying to restrain Nigerians. Let Emefiele unban these items today, I tell you the reserves would drop to $24b. Buhari has no vision, we are in a motion without movement. It was GEJ that made the refineries to start work, and they have been working but not to full capacity even now. We have to say the truth always. Looking for credit for the Dullard would not provide those things physically. |

Dont expect anything from the DD. He is visionless and the followers, especially from the SW, they are so confused. They are looking for every credit to give to him. GEJ has done everything; we are lucky we had GEJ who built structures in place. We would have been in a disastrous situation. |

Genius100: What most do not know is that GEJ's railway was a bastardization of the project began by OBJ. OBJ completed the design, awarded the contract and started the project only for GEJ to bastardize the project with an obsolete design while stealing loads of money This is very wrong and a bad comment. this isnt how to appreciate. GEJ did his best under the circumstances with funds available. He really did well. OBJ is just envious of GEJ. I saw Sanusi riding the rail in Kano and they were all happy. |

But i do know that this man should stop smoking whatever he is smoking. Buhari, is gradually changing Nigeria, one day at a time and so far we can visibly see the changes, sweeping through the country.
We will get there.
Oba Fredrick Obateru Akinruntan, aside being the head of a funny sect(Church), it is common knowledge that you are a TOP Ogboni Man,so let us stick to your church, personal and Ogboni business. Do not attempt to be an Historian too.
Everybody seems to be claiming the Yoruba's came from them.
The Benin's claim the Yoruba's are from there, Ile-Ife says Yoruba started from there, Alafin of OYO says the Yoruba started from his Kingdom, Soun of Ogbomosho too, and now your small country side community is claiming that too?Maybe the Yoruba's really need to tell us where they come from. What kind of changes do we have so far? Buhari has done nothing. There are no changes anywhere. GEJ has done all these things- the Power, Refineries, Security. Look at fuel today, what is changing there is that we are buying fuel for 120 per litre. Security has gone worse. Buhari is a Dullard. |

Even if that is true, is that what you would say to somebody you are begging? GMB is a complete dullard. He did the same thing on same sex marriage. |
