Well i am one of JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES and i can explain why we detests such celebrations.
So it's not about what people eat, drink, wear or hobbies rather it has to do with pagan customs and beliefs of ancient times.
Note that JWs do eat, drink, our ladies put on jewelries and make-ups despite all gibberish misinformed churchgoers think about these things.
So there are pagan customs and beliefs attached to certain holidays and celebrations that's why our God commanded us not to copy such customs from them!
